Issue - Modify Query in Dev Server

Hi All,
Few days ago wit did it an homogenues copy from BW PRD to BW DEV, everything was fine.
Nowadays, when i try to open a query in BW DEV appears "BEX transport request XXXX is not available or not suitable", so i cant modify it. Then i created a BEX TO and works fine !! but my question is :
I want to be able to modify the reports without a BEX TO, and once i finished all the modification i will include it in a TO trought RSA1----Transport Connections - create a new TO.
Before Homegenous copy this was the was that we were working.
Anny suggest or solution ???

On which version you are working on 3.5 or 7.x ??
I worked on the 7.x version of query designer and in that i never come across such thing.
In inital stage when we started development, we created query's and saved them but it never prompted for any kind of reqeuest in the query designer. Once our query's designed and user wanted them to transport to production we went to RSA1 and collected query and there object's there in a partucular bex request and released the request, but afterwards whenever we create's or changes the query's in query designer then if BEX request is not created it prompts for that.
As far as i know Query designer does not request for TO request.

How to transport modified query from Dev to QA??

Hi All,
I have made a few changes to a query that has already been transported to QA from Dev. I have removed an Infoobject and introduced a new Infoobject and other such changes.
Now I would like to transport the "new version" of the same query from Dev to QA again so that all the new changes are reflected in QA environment as well.
What steps or procedures do I need to follow for this please?

Reddy,
BW reporting objects (query / Workbook / WAS tempalte) change transport system is different than other BW development objects (Infoobjects, cubes, transfer/update rules etc..).
Before you start making changes to any Query objects (which are already transported before), first you need to assign the respective Request in the "Transport Connection" tab (click on the BEX with truck symbol icon) and assign your request with the package name.

How to transport the modified Query from DEV to QA

Hi BW users,
I have made few changes for existing query and transported to QA and the changes are reflecting in QA .But did n't transported to Production .and Now I have to added one more InfoObject.
Now Can I add that Info Object in QA it self or Do I need to add the New Info Object in DEV and Transport it to QA again.
Please let me know as it is very urgent to me.

Any changes you should to in DEV only. Do changes in DEV and move transport to Quality and subsequently to Production.

In dev server my payment advice form f110_prenum_chc is not working

friends i need urgent help.
1) i have copied f110_avis_in frm 000 client to 200 client with form name
   z_prenum_dup.
2) i have copied f110_prenum_chc frm 000 client to 200 client form name
zf110_prenum_chc1.
3) then i modified my both forms in 200 saved assigned TRs and
transported frm DEV server to PRD server(client 700).
4)in dev server 200 client my both forms are working
but in prd server 700 client my form cheque z_prenum_dup is
working but payment advice form zf110_prenum_chc1 is
not working.
5) but i can see my both forms r their in 700 prd server in se71 t.code.
6) if i run f-58 tr.code and by switching on debug mode i can see my
   cheque form but not payment advice form.
7) if i run in 200 client i can see my both forms.
can any body plz help me out of this issue.

1, Does system giving any error..?
2, Can you see a preview..?
As I understood, it must not have any problem in transportation.
You can also check with Respective functional consultant whether he has done with required customization in NACE..?
One more thing you can do is,
open a program RSNAST00 and put break point at " PERFORM (tnapr-ronam) IN PROGRAM (tnapr-pgnam) USING returncode", here you can check at runtime ( While in debugging mode) the value of field TNAPR-FONAM, this value must be your SmartForm. If it is not the case then, there is problem with NACE settings and contact your functional counterpart.

SQL server query without indicating server name

I am writing a query in SSIS and utilize servername everytime but it drags every time
I am authorized to work in Development area and can indicate deve server
But Senior officer ask me not to use Server name and when package goes to production query can execute without indicate server name any idea

I think you're using linked server in your queries based on your description.
While working in SSIS you dont need linked server. You'll just add connection manager to connect to your dev server and database and then use it for your tasks. Inside your query you will just reference objects using schemaname.objectname convention.
You will make servername and database name configurable by adding them as configurations (parameters in SSIS 2012 if you use project deployment). Then you will be able to pass values for configurations from outside based on variety of options like through
XML file, from SQLServer table, Environment variables etc

SSAS Tabular Performance Issue moving from Laptop to Server

Hi all,
I've got an issue where my tabular model in SSAS on a Lenovo W520 laptop (DEV) is out-performing the same model on a Dell R720 server (details of each system below). Our unit tests involves 1 query that takes 2-3 seconds on the laptop
vs 12-15 seconds on the server. The main difference is the laptop is running Windows 7 Pro and the server is Windows Server 2012 R2.
So for some additional tests we did the following:
1. Loaded up the model on another laptop (same model and specs as before) the same way we moved the model over to the server and it performed as expected 2-3 seconds for the query.
2. Loaded up the model on a dell OptiPlex system (i3 processor, 8GB Ram, Win7 Pro) and runs 2-3 seconds still for the query.
3. Loaded up Win2k8R2 on the dell OptiPlex system (above) and still run 2- 3 seconds)
At this point we are thinking it is an OS issue between 2008R2 and Server 2012 R2 but not sure what the true difference is between the OS(s) that would cause such a huge performance difference. We thought it might be the power saving mode that ships
with 2012 R2 so set that performance but still seeing a long lag in the query.
Laptop Specs:
Lenovo W520
1 x i7 2.5GHz 2860QM Processor (8 Cores, )
16 GB Memory (DDR3, Dual)
Windows 7 Pro
Server Specs:
Dell R720
2 x E5-2697 V2 (12 Cores each, 2.7GHz, with turbo boost enabled)
4 x 32GB Memory (LRDIM 1866 MT/s)
Windows Server 2012 R2 (All latest updates and drivers)
There has to be some simple setting I'm missing in the 2012 R2 server that is causing this poor performance in SQL Server. I've seen folks in the tabular forums using Server 2012 R2 so there has to be a way to have this server perform better.
I'm about at my wits end on this one and reaching out for help from the experts out there. What advice can you give me?

Transporting an ABAP query from DEV to QAS/PRD

Hi all,
I am trying to modify an existing query in DEV and move it to QAS and then to PRD. After making the changes in DEV, there was new transport request created, in which I had the changes for the query and in se93, i changed the name of the prog to the newly generated prog. after moving the transport to QAS, it is giving me a dump saying that the new prog generated in dev does not exist in QAS and hence the tcode does not work.
after that i tried with the standard SAP report "rsaqr3tr" and tried to make another transport assuming that the program would be together with the transaction and will be transported together. But this does not work.
I need help regarding this please - since it is an urgent rek - how do i transport the query after making changes to the already existing one - from DEV to QAS or PRD?
Please explain in detail where and what I am missing.

Setup:
- entities A and B
- a 1 to * association from entity A to entity B (A_B_association)
- a view of A based on entity A (AView)
- a view of B based on entity B (BView)
- BView has an expert mode query
Create a view link from table A to table B:
- choose the A_B_association under AView for the source attribute
- choose the A_B_association under BView for the destination attribute
- click add
- click next
issue: the query clause is empty
- click next:

Note, however, that creating a view link based on the attributes works. That is, if I choose the primary key attribute under AView for the source attribute, and the corresponding foreign key attribute under BView for the destination attribute, then the wizard generates the expected query clause.
If I create a new project and recreate the entities, the views, and the association, then I can successfully create a view link based on the association. The foreignKey value on the association end was different in the new association XML file. I modifed the old XML file so that it used the same foreignKey element, but that did not seem to work.
I am guessing that this is some sort of user error on my part or that we have otherwise managed to squat up our XML files.
Any tips, hints, or ideas appreciated.

The problem is in AView.
We had modified the AView at one point, then reverted it to a default view of entity A. Here, "a default view" means that we undid our custom changes (apparently not thoroughly enough); that is, we did not delete it and create a default view from scratch using the contextual menu on the A entity.
The bottom line is that the AView attributes were not being mapped to the entity -- they were showing up as calculated attributes.
We created a "New Default View Object..." from the contextual menu of entity A, then manually corrected the AView.xml file to solve the problem.

Measuring the cpu and ram consumption of a given query in sql server

hello there how you doing and am new to this sql server forum and i suddenly popped to ask questions related to sql server
and my question goes like this
in sql server i have table called testt and it have more thna10000000 records
and i have written a query select * from testt limit 9000000; and what i want is to measure the
CPU consumption of this given query=???????????????
and
RAM consumption of this given query=???????????????
Time consumption of this given query=?????????????? this i will get it from the result bar but i don't know whether it is correct or not
any help on this it may be query, tool or configurations all are acceptable and appreciated

Issues with query using joins in 3 tables

I am trying to fetch data from 3 tables (Project,RIsk and Issues) using join. There are Risks associated with some projects and Issues associated with some projects.
ProjectID is primary key in Project table.
RiskID is primary key in risk table. ProjectID is foreign key.
IssueID is primary key in Issue table.ProjectID is foreign Key.
I need the projectname, count of risks for projects, count of issues for projects. I am using joins in all the 3 tables. Issue here is, its giving me double of count of risks and issues for each project.
Please advise how can I get the correct number. I have used the below query,
select p.projectname,count(r.riskid),count(i.issueid) from project as p

Not able to modify Query

Hi,
I created a query in Development and tranported to Test and now I am trying to modify this query in Dev using Query Designer, it doesn't..
'Error: The query could not be saved due to problem in transport'
all my requests are released in Dev and transported to Test. I tried to delete this query using RSZDELTE but
"Query object is blocked. Deletion has been cancelled"

Thanks for the suggestion, I could modify it once I created a new request for this query using tranpost connection and I could able to delete also...
But I expected the query designer should prompt with a new request if the request doesn't exist (or) error message should be more clearer ... we had this feature before with Bex Analyzer !!!

I am currently trying to set up an environment using Developer Server (6) - Forms and Reports servers, OAS 4.0.8.1, NT4.0 sp5.
I have managed to configure the reports server and it operates both in cartridge and CGI mode. However the Forms Server is driving me nuts...I keep getting the dreaded white screen.
I have several questions
1. Should i have installed OAS and Dev Server in different Oracle Homes?
2. Do i need Jinitiator? If yes is it version 1.1.7.18.
3. Do i need patch set4 (6.0.5.32.0) for Forms? If yes where can i get it?
I really hope some of you can help - i have looked at all the Oracle documentation and all this has served to do is confuse the issue further.

oas408 en ora815 now must installed in different orahomes.

Save the o/p of the query in Application Server, Filename with Timestamp

Dear Experts,
I have a scenario that on 1st of every month, a query needs to execute and save the output of that query in Application Server, Filename along with Timestamp.
For ex: Production_19/09/2011
So, I Created a Query Extract in RSCRM_REPORT and gave the path name and scheduled. The output of the query is saved successfully in Application Server.
But I need Timestamp along with Filename.
Please help me out with the timestamp issues, how could I include Timestamp with Filename (Query Name).

You can achieve the result with out any code. You have to use the APD concept to extract the query to a file.

How to get dev server files in to SAP@webstudio

I have installed SAP@webstudio in my PC for doing some enhancements for my project.How can i get all development files which are in existence into my toool Webstudio?
I did as below.
tools>Repository>Connect to R/3 System.
Then it is displayed all files in the tool with read only access.How can i modify the files if i wish.
In the tools-->repository,all the fields are disable,except connect to R/3 system.
Plz can any body help me,how to get connected to my dev server with webstudio

First create a new project on the workspace project tab. You can then switch the repository tab and find the service you want to modify. Right click on the service and do a 'get'. This will then place the files in your project. From there you can do a 'check out' and then modify/publish the files. Once you are completed be sure to 'check in'.

Cfldap modify query to add members to group

I am trying to add new members to the group using cfldap modify query.
i am able replace with one member with the other but the requirement is like that we supposed to add new member with the existing one.
