[Issue]Scrollpane Scrolling

I'm guessing this is the correct sub-forum since I'm not using Actionscript.
Issue:
I have a movie clip that is basically a container for images with text descriptions. Everything works except when you try and scroll using a mouse-wheel. When you using this the scrollpane only seems to scroll down about 4 lines (@ 18pt font size) and then you have to either move the mouse around the scrollpane area while scrolling down or hover over the scrollpane's scroll bar. The actual movie clip is more or less only half viewable using the mouse-wheel and not doing one of the two methods I listed above.
I've tried searches and it seems that no one else has ever had this issue.

  • Issue when scrolling a pdf - There was a problem reading this document (135)

This is when the PDF is created and rendered/previewed from Acrobat Reader and the issue is there for latest acrobat version too.
When you open the PDF in Acrobat Reader and then when you scroll it and if you have more that one page in the PDF, it gives an error saying "There was a problem reading this document (135)".
Is this a known issue in Acobat? Any resolution? Reinstalling acrobat version didn't help.
    Thank you in advance...!

    Hi Manulak_Tech,
As you are able to view PDF I had provided, the issue seems to be PDF specific.
So when you scroll the PDF and reach to a page where Adobe Reader cannot read it, the error comes. I am sure the problem lies the way PDF was created. Can you describe how the PDF was created?

  • Scrollpane scrolling manually to component

Sorry that I am spamming another post that is not a question, but again I was fighting with Swing over something quite poorly documented and I must share my victory for future people that may struggle with the same (and use the forum search).
Situation: a scrolling panel which manually handles scrollwheel scrolling. This will select one of the many JLabels holding icons in the panel, giving them a colored border when the active one.
Requirement: when a label is selected that is out of view, the scrollpane should scroll to make that label visible.
Now after examining the javadocs I realized that scrollRectToVisible() is the solution. This method requires a Rectangle of the position to scroll to, which you can easily get by calling getBounds() on the component (label in my example) that must be visible. So what I did was:
    - call scrollToVisibleRect() on the JScrollPane. This does not work, to my surprise
    - call scrollToVisibleRect() on the viewport. This works partially, the scrollpane scrolls down, but it will never scroll up
    - I also tried validate() here and there just to know for certain I am not crazy
And finally after some more hair pulling and a google quest I stumbled upon the answer; you need to call scrollRectToVisible() on the component that you wrap the scrollpane around, not the scrollpane itself! So if you have something like:
    JPanel mypanel = new JPanel();
JScrollPane sp = new JScrollPane(mypanel); You need to call mypanel.scrollRectToVisible() to make the scroll work!
    Source of the solution:
    http://www.esus.com/docs/GetQuestionPage.jsp?uid=989

Its kind of dumb how they have when that broadcasts when
scrolling is going on but not one directly when its stops.
    Thanks for your help.
    Heres what i used:
    _root.onMouseUp = function () {
    if (_xmouse>=0 && _xmouse<=555 &&
    _ymouse>537 && _ymouse<558) {
    trace('stop that');
    }

  • Flash mx -ScrollPane - scroll bar issue

If we create some dynamic content and display it using
scrollPane and if the width and height of the clip( the clip
displayed in ScrollPane) changes dynamically by clicking on a
button then refreshPane method does not work properly. We have to
set original position of the clip to (0, 0) when scroll bar
(vertical/ horizontal) disappears. I think this is not a good idea
    to work around with scrollPane.
Let me know if there are any efficient methods with which we
can handle dynamic data in scrollPane to display it properly.

  • Please Help me place the arrows of my ScrollPane scroll bar together on one end of the scroll track!!

I have a scrollpane component with a movie clip of some

  • ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint issues with scroll (55Y9003)

    Hi Guys,
I am having issues with this  keyboard...
I ordered it to use it  on my work where I have Dell Vostro desktops.
However scroll simply doesn't work in all programs and even stops working ... I also using VM and it doesn't work at all in VMWARE even if you point inside it it still operates at host system !? Weird...
I have installed latest drivers 1.01 but nothing... So when I removed all drivers and just keep default scroll work as default but still not in all programs and not in VM Ware, etc... Just to be clear my regular mouse scroll works in all and works properly...
Is it possible that this keyboard will work only on Thinkpads used as external keyboard ?
There are two things to be installed when I start a disk one is driver and second one is some interface driver which can be only installed on Thinkpads ?! Couldn't be that that thing is missing when running on non Thinkpad systems?
Any help how to make scroll work in all programs?
    Thanks.
Moderator edit: Removed UltraNav from the title. This keyboard just has a TrackPoint.

I have the ThinkPad USB keyboard on a non-Lenovo desktop, and it works.
Yes the keyboard driver installs, but not the Lenovo System Interface Driver, for obvious reasons. All the buttons and TrackPoint work.
Yes the TrackPoint does not scroll in all programs. Search the community for "trackpoint scroll fix" and you will come up with instructions on how to fix this.

  • External ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint issues with scroll (55Y9003) and hotkeys on a x201

    Hello
Once more there is a glitch with the drivers for this external keyboard 55Y9003.
    I have the drivers:
16.2.19.13 for the ultranav system of the x201
    1.10 for the external keyboard
    My system is XP sp3.
The keyboard of the x201is fine relative to the one  55Y9003.
The scrolling is set to standard for both systems.
Please do not advise to select smooth; it is not a solution and the smooth scrolling has been systematically utterly unusable.
    The issues:
-the hotkeys on the external keyboards are not all working:
basically, fn+f4 and fn+nmlk work but the rest does not (say fn+f8)
-the scrolling of the external keyboard is not at all identical to the scrolling of the x201.
For instance, in pdfs viewed with foxit for instance, I have not a problem to scroll horizontally with the x201 starting with the hand tool.
WIth the external keyboard, whan I press the middle button to activate the scrolling, it remains the hand tool, I can scroll vertically but not horizontally.
FIrefox as also issues whith the middle button.
-the external keyboard still suffers from the sticky shift key.
I know the x201 and the 55Y9003 are no longer fashionable, but  Is there some directly  guy working at Lenovo who could help ?

  • Safari 5.1 under 10.6.8: various issues (responsability, scrolling, etc)

    Hi,
here my observations, issues after upgrading to Safari 5.1 (from 5.0.1) under 10.6.8.
Scrolling is often choppy (with two fingers, with scroll wheel). Terribly annoying.
There is – not always, bit quite often – a strange refresh-effect when switching tabs or windows: the switched-to tab/windows goes blank for a very short moment before it comes back with its content (no reload involved, apparently just a display issue), of course terribly annoying.
Text input is lagging (like here, like now).
The beach ball is seen way too often, and way more often than in 5.0.1.
Text selection is lagging. You have to do it veeeeeerrrrry sloooooowly.
I guess, you can sum it up this way: responsability and UI interaction is not right.
This is not the case with regard to page loads, which is snappy, probably even better than in 5.0.1.
Another point: Window switching changed its algorithm back to how it used to be quite some time ago (maybe pre 5.x): The order of the windows does not get re-shuffled, but stays the way it was – so, on the one hand, you have to ‘caroussel’ to all of the windows to get back to the first; on the other hand, you don’t see (as in Safari 5.0.x) one window again and again just because you paused switching for a moment, or closed out some tab. A bit hard to describe, but I guess people will recognize what I mean.
Both algorithms have their pros and cons. I guess I like 5.1’s change back to the ‘traditional’ better, but it’s also a matter of taste, I guess.
RAM usage is pretty hefty as well: “Safari Web Content” 720MB, “Safari” 267MB, Flash Player (Safari Internet plug-in) 25,8MB – I have 2 GB RAM installed.
Text input is horribly lagging. Consider me brave to have finished this posting here.
    Please, Webkit/Safari team, fix it.
    Best,
    Peter

Good news: I can report that you can successfully and easily downgrade from Safari 5.1 to 5.0.5 under 10.6.8 by means of Charlessoft’s excellent (und for a long time well respected [I’m in now way affiliated with Charlessoft]) tool Pacifist (http://www.charlessoft.com/).
Just download this Safari 5.0.5 installer (for Snow Leopard) from Apple’s site (I hope it’s okay to put this link up here; of course Apple prefers you to download only its very latest – alas, the problems with this very latest is why you’re reading this post):
    http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/Safari5/041-0564. 20110413.Fi9pb/Safari5.0.5SnowLeopard.dmg
Then proceed as described here (look for the part named “Force Install”; don’t get confused that it mentions older Safari versions, like 5.0 and 4.0.5, the procedure is the same now):
    http://appletoolbox.com/2010/06/down...-safari-4-0-5/
Also see the concise documentation that comes with Pacifist.
Basically, in all the dialogues coming up just choose “Replace” (not “Update”), a choice clearly marked in Pacifist’s documentation for cases of downgrading. One restart, and you’re back to Safari 5.0.5 without touching any other part of your OS. And, of course, Safari 5.0.5 is supposed to work under 10.6.8, since it gets installed with the 10.6.8 Combo Update, so no surprise.
(Why not just use the above linked 5.0.5 updater, by double-clicking it? This updater denies to install 5.0.5 under 10.6.8, instead claiming to require 10.6.7 – but this seems to be due only to the fact that at the time the Safari 5.0.5 installer was current, 10.6.7 was the up-to-date version of Snow Leopard. And again, I’m writing this post – and, other than the one above which I wrote from within Safari 5.1, without any hiccups – from within Safari 5.0.5, which “flies” compared to my 5.1 experience under the very same, otherwise untouched 10.6.8 installation.)
Just one further caution: After the downgrade, Safari 5.0.5 cannot re-open the last session’s (the one under Safari 5.1) windows and tabs (something to be quite expected); so, in case, bookmark accordingly before initializing the downgrade. (And, of course, you do not loose any other information, like bookmarks, history, passwords, etc. The downgrade does not effect any kind of “brutal” reset of Safari.)
Finally, after the downgrade OS X’s Software Update does offer you the update of Safari 5.1. So, you clearly can get back again to the newest and latest if you wish to.
    Best.

  • Issue Screen Scrolling Very Jumpy - How can it be improved?

I have setup 3 MS Windows Server 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Servers, connecting to Wyse C10LE terminals.  When scrolling in documents the display screen does not do so clearly.  I've tried reducing the encryption level and security settings but still
no improvement.  These are RDP Configured connections.  Running out of ideas and wyse is not much help.  Network connections are 1GB. These are VM's.

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
As per your description for your issue, I would like you to check the driver for your Wyse terminals. Please update to the latest driver and verify the result. Also when you are facing this issue, only during access of particular document or for any of the
    program access on wyse.
In addition try to disable the TCP auto-tuning and verify the result. You can perform this with below commands.
    Disabling the TCP auto-tuning
    1. Open up a 'cmd' as administator.
    2. Type in: netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled
    3. To check if it worked: netsh interface tcp show global
To re-enable it: netsh interface tcp set global autotuningl=normal
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

    Any help please?

    Hi Santhosh,
Per my understanding, this issue is related to container definition where you put your GridView control. In this case, it is the Grid container.
First you can see a working sample,
https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/ListViewSimple-d5fc27dd. See the scenario 1 in windows phone project, I can reproduce your issue by setting the height of RowDefinition to “auto” where the GridView control sitting in. You need to check the height
and width property of the layout. See more information about layout in XAML.
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/xaml/hh465337.aspx.
You’ve not mentioned the definition of the Grid layout, I assume you need change the RowDefinition. If you don’t know how, please see details in above code sample.

  • How to make scrollpane scroll with textfield focus

I have a JScrollPane that contains a JPanel with a grid of Labels and JTextFields for data entry. When I tab through the textfields down the panel - reaching fields that are out of view, the scroll pane does scroll down fields with the cursor - keeping the cursor in view.
Is there a way to do this? I've tried some things, but I have not been able to get this working.

    here you go..

  • Question about ScrollPane scroll bar

    Hello Everyone,
Currently I am working in Flash Professional 8. I need to
customize the scroll bar in the ScrollPane. I figured out how to
    customize the graphics.
Instead of the lil grey scroll bar that you can drag I want
it to be an arrow. I made it into an arrow but there appears to be
some sort of size restriction on it and the arrow I created appears
distorted. Is there some way I can change this size restriction and
have the scroll bar be 100 pixels high if I wanted it to be?
Thanks in advance for any help!

  • HTML rendering issue on scroll in WebView mac os x

I have an button in right down corner in Webview. Button moves down or up as I scroll which should not be happen, as Same HTML we checked in Safari where it works fine and buttons position does not changed on scroll.
how can i fix such kind of issue and eager to know Why behaviour differs in safari and WebView for same HTML file ??
    Looking for your valuable suggestion.
    Thanks,

I have a client who recently experienced what appeared to be a permissions issue when, after editing some PDF/A files that we provided to her using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.07 (on a Mac workstation running OS X 10.7.5), she tried saving them to a server (running Mac OS X 10.8.1) where she had stored our PDF/A files, attempting to overwrite the original PDF/A files.  She was able to successfully save the edited PDF files to her Desktop, but when she tried dragging/dropping the edited PDF files from her Desktop to the server, attempting to overwrite the original PDF/A files, again she was presented with a permissions error.  I read another thread here saying that there could potentially be some issue with Apple/Mac Mail holding on to files that were sent as attachments, but she validated none of the PDF/A or edited PDF files were e-mailed, so I wanted to survey the community to find out what you all think may have happened.  The original PDF/A files that we provided to her were created on a system running Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP.  For the record, I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to understanding all of the intricacies of PDF/A files AND Macintosh operating systems/applications.

  • How To make a custom ScrollPane/scroller Help.

I want to make a MC that holds various Data such as textfields images maybe a video, ect just basic content, so i want to put that into a MC and be able to scroll it. But i cant figure out how to do this, no tutorials on the internet. And i dont want to use the UIScroller and Scrollpane components as they are highly unnatractive.. It is for a touch enabled device so maybe a gesture could be used? But im sure a Mouse Event would work, Can some one help me out or point me in the right direction?

Your best bet for finding tutorials is Google.  Here's one result for a search using "AS3 movieclip scroller" that shows the basics.
