Issue tracking list

Hi,
I would like to add history to Description filed in Issue tracking list.
Please let me know how?

Then if you want OOTB way, you may try the approach that I have suggested.
The advantage of Append Changes to Existing Text is it will keep adding all the descriptions entered by users, like history.
And this is how Comments field is implemented OOTB in Issue Tracking List.

    I'm using out of box Issue Tracking List. In Related Issue I want to add some data like :- Business, Technical, HR, Contractor etc in right side so user can select one of them add it. Not sure how to add these data in Related Issue column. Please advice.

    Related Issues is a lookup column to the same list which is Issue Tracking List. so you can add new items where title is Business, Technical, HR, Contractor etc then you will get those under related issues.

  • Can not modify the layout for my Default Display Form, inside an issue tracking list. the form will be blank after adding the cusotm styles

    I am working on an Issue Tracking list inside SharePoint 2013. but when a user clicks on an item , the description field will occupy only a small area of the page , while most of the page will be blank as follow:-
    so using F12 Developer Tools on IE i detect the marckup for the Description field as follow:-
    where it is mentioned that it have a Width=350, so i add a Script Editor web part to the displayform and i specify the following to expand the field from 350 to 1000:-

    #SPFieldNote
    {width: 1000;
    <style>
    but the result is that the display form will display nothing when clicking on an item as follow:-
    Of course if i remove the ScriptEditor web part the form will be shown again..
    so can anyone advice from where i can force the default display item view to occupy the whole page size ? Thanks

    Hi John,
    Since width is mentioned in 'td' itself, so using styles we can't overwrite the width. For that you can implement javascript or jQuery code to set the width on td element.

  • Adding new site columns to my issue tracking List, will result in having their Source field as blank inside the Issue content type

    I have added an Issue tracking list to my SharePoint team site 2013. Then I wanted to add 5 extra columns to my list . So I did the following:-
    I went to site settings.
    Then I added 5 new site columns.
    I went back to my list setting, I click on the “Issue” content type, and I added the 5 newly added site columns to my "Issue" content type , using the “Add from existing site or list columns” link as follow:-
    And then these columns were added automatically inside the Edit, Create& Display forms.
    But since this is the first time I work on such a task , so I want to make sure that I did every thing correctly. Because I am not sure why the 5 newly added site columns will have their source field inside the “Issue” content type as blank , as shown in
    the above picture. So does this indicate that there is a problem ? or this is because I have added the 5 newly added site columns to the List content type and not inside the Content type at the site level ?

    Hi,
    It’s by design, the Source field means the content type name.
    As you said, when we create a new column, if we not attach the column to a content type, then the column would have not the source field option.
    However, if you create a new column, then add the column in a content type, the content type would automatically update in the site.
    Now, you would see a source content type appear.

  • Issue Tracking List Error

    Hello All,
    I've created an Issue Tracking (Task) List for our company with a customized view.  I had to change the width of one of the columns (Description) in SharePoint Designer in order to accommodate a large amount of text. I changed the default
    view to this new, modified view. 
    Now each morning, the first person that accesses the list receives the following error:
    Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft SharePOint Desinger. If the problem persists, contact your Web server administrator.
    Correlation ID: 6a01a375-2bc5-4ee0-b169-042da4858956
    Could this be of my customized column width, and if so, how can I keep the customized column width without getting the error!

    Hi Benjamin,
    The error can be caused by many reasons, so you need to check the ULS log for detailed error message.
    For SharePoint 2010, by default, ULS log is at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS.
    In the meanwhile, you can clear the configuration cache for SharePoint to see if the issue still occurs.

    Please also check if the issue is caused by the KB2844286 Security Update on SharePoint 2010 as Cameron suggested.

    Hi, Can any one guide me in making the list tasks color coded according to the status of the issue.
    as if issue is Resolved ( green line ), Active ( red line ) etc.

    Do you have SharePoint Designer 2010 installed?
    Open your site in sharepoint designer
    click lists and libraries
    click the name of your list
    in "views" on the right, click "new..." and give it a name.
    in this new view of the list, click in one of the cells of the actual list of issues, so that the contextual ribbon at the top will give you all the options you need.
    Click "Conditional Formatting" in the ribbon.  This will let you pick "row".
    Then you just have to define your conditions:
    if priority is equal to (3) Low, then pick yellow as the background color.  Do the same type of thing to create the other 2 conditions.

  • Related Issue column in tracking list gets changed into drop down list in Infopath

    Hi All,
     i have created Tracking list in sharepoint 2010. which has column[Related issue - lookup for field in list[title] by default.
    this field will have a multiple selection check box,2 buttons [Add and remove] and text box[which show the items selected in check box].
    my issue is ,when i try to modify my list in Infopath. this column[Related issue] gets changed into drop down list item.Is is possible  to get the same [old format] back. if so pls guide me..

    The
    multiple-selection list box control should be by design in InfoPath form, which is corresponding to the SharePoint "Related Issues" field, in my opinion, it cannot be converted to [old format] in InfoPath form, you may need to use SharePoint Designer 2010
    to customize your Issue Tracking list NewForm.aspx/EditForm.aspx per the way in the following article, then "Related Issues" field will still be the old format,

  • Assignees don't appear in Issue Tracker Open Issues list?

    Hi -
    I've assigned names to open issues in the Application Express canned Issue Tracker application, and they appear everywhere - except in the Open Issues list.
    Home -> Projects -> (Click on a project) -> Open Issues -> ("Assignee" fields say "Unassigned")
    Home -> Issues -> (Click on an issue) (Issues have a name in the "Assigned To" field)
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Is there a problem in the code such that the "Assignee" field is an orphan and this should be the "Assigned To" field?

  • Can one avoid names to be listed in packaged applications (issue tracker, for example)?

    I've installed the packaged app "Issue tracker" in a workspace, but now have a problem with German's law (and maybe others), which does not allow people to make reports that explicitely mention names of employees, except if you are their manager.
    So the issue tracker's reports, which can be used by anybody and display assignees' names, are not allowed by German's law !
    I guess that all packaged apps have the same users control mechanism. If so, this issue is not specific to the issue tracker. Is that right?
    To make the issue tracker compliant with German's law, one should be able to hide names or ideally to make them only visible by the employee's management.
    Hide name would imply:
    - Remove the updaters' name in the projects/issues
    - Remove assignees' name in the projects/issues/reports
    I guess this could be done via a plugin "display names" in the "build options".
    Make names only visible to managers would imply:
    - Assign a manager to each user
    - Adapt the display depending on the identity of the user
    Does this make sense? If so, I guess I should add an entry in Oracle Application Express Feature Requests, right?

  • I have had two instances of having a downloaded album "scrambled" while playing on appletv, I.e. the track listing remaining correct but having the wrong songs play.  Once this has occurred the album does not play correctly.  Any help with this issue?

    I am having problems with Apple TV scrambling albums while playing from iTunes.  The track listing remains correct but the songs play out of order and not all of the songs seem to in place, I.e. a song that played previously under one title will play as a different title.  Any thoughts or help?  Thanks.

    A corrupted iPod database, will report zero music used, and have your music size reported as others, so you wont see the music in the iPod screen. Sorry, I thought there was some hope for you with iPodAccess, in recovery of the corrupted iPod database with your ratings.
    You can try to borrow and  use the Mac Disk Utility ->First Aid ->Repair.
    Of course, if your iPod Hardisk is in a bad state, from the Disk Diagnostic report, then all my suggestion are futile.

    is it possible to add the external hyperlink in these emails instead of the internal hyperlink? 
    in example when I get a list tracking email there are hyperlink that get sent out with these tags Modify my alert settings | View Issue Tracking | mobile view  that use the internal url //servername how can I change it to use the external

  • Issue Tracker app - how to make one page public

    Hi all,
    We have installed and made a few tweaks to the Issue Tracker demo app, and are finding it very useful! We have just a handful of users that have logins for the application, and it is working well for them. We would like to make a modification to the app, so that the main "Issues" page (that lists out all of the issues, and you can search them) can be viewable by anyone in our company. Is there a way to do this? Basically, I'd prefer to be able to just send out the URL for this page, and make it so that anyone in our company can just go to that URL, and have Read-Only access to this page (without having to login), so they can search for issues, and see their status. I would also want to make it so that these folks cannot see the "Add a New Issue" button, and probably hide the breadcrumb at the top as well.
    I know that I could create a whole separate AppEx app, and basically just duplicate the layout of that one page, and make that application public. Is that the easiest route? I was assuming there would be a fairly simple way to take the existing app, and just tweak it so that this one page is public.

    Quick update - that was easier than I thought! I simply made that one page Public under the Authentication. And I was able to make the "Add a New Issue" button only viewable by the Admins.
    One more question - is there a way to do a similar thing with the breadcrumb at the top? Currently, when I go to the public page, I see the "Home - Isses" breadcrumb at the top left. If I click on the link for Home, then it brings me to a login. However, it would be best if the public users didn't even see this breadcrumb. Is that possible?

     I have a problem with issues tracker and in my form i have 4
    Assigned to Fields. 
    I want these fields notifications to be acknowledge by a different person and that is submitted to these person.
    How can i make this happen?

    To send email per list fields or someone specific, you could associate a workflow to this list, and add Send an Email action in the workflow.
    If this is not what you really mean, please provide more explanation about your requirement? I’m not quite sure about:

  • Missing track list when printing artwork

    For a while now when I print the cover art from a burned cd the track list side is left blank most of the time. If I try to print just the track list it's all run together and unreadable since I downloaded the latest version of itunes. Would this be a printer issue or something to do with itunes ? Anyone else with this problem?
