Issue with Aborting Instances in 10gR3
All,
I have a business requirement where I need to be able to abort instances ( Parent & Child) for a particular Process.
Here is what I do
1) in my parent Process I create a "Message Wait" while allows External Notification and also interrupts. I then attach it to a automatic called [AbortInstance] with unconditional transition.
2) In my automatic I look for all child instances. I then send notification to all the child instances to abort them.
3) then I slfl abort the parent process.
The code compiles but when i send a notification the parent process i am getting the following error
There are no valid and possible outgoing transitions from activity 'Out[AbortInstance]' in process '/TestProcess#Default-1.0' while completing the instance '/TestProcess#Default-1.0/1/0'.
fuego.papi.exception.NoValidTransitionAvailableExceptio.
why does it ask for an outgoing transition where my Automatic activity AbortInstance is doing all the cleanup and there is no need for any outgoing transition for this automatic.
Hi. I think you need to add an action back in the automatic activity "AbortInstance" to let the engine continue the flow from the point it was interrupted.
Regards,
Matias.

Connectivity issue with local instance of sql server
hi everbody,
well for the last couple of days i have almost taken my head out to get this issue resolved.
but still i am no where. i have already referred to so many tips available online but still can't fix the prob.
i am trying to connect a C# ( .net 2005) program to connect to the integrated sql server 2005 instance on my local computer.
i have got windows 7 home basic on my pc with .net frame work 2.0 sp2 and have also upgraded to sql server 2005 sp3 as per some online study.
i have also tried all these steps but still getting the error 40.
1. Check Whether the SQL Server is running or not.
Because the trial to connect to the stopped server may also cause this problem.
2. Check the name of the SQl Server.
For example, if we try to connect to SQL server using .NET application, for some SQL Server, the name of the server "localhost" works, but for some server, we may need to mention "(local)".
3. Check Whether the SQL Browser Service is running
4. Check Whether the TCP/IP is enabled for SQL Server Configuration
* Expand SQL Server Configuration Manager
* Enable TCP/IP
5. Firewall Settings
You may need to add the port of Sql server to the Firewall if it is other than the default port(1433).
Go to Control Panel | Windows Firewall | Change Settings | Exceptions | Add Port
6. Enable the Remote Connection
Goto SQL Server Management Studio.
Right Click on Server node
Click On Properties
Check the Allow Remote connections to Server Check Box
7. Enable Named Pipes
- Open the "SQL Server Configuration Manager" (under Configuration Tools)
- Expand the "SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration"
- Select the "Protocols for "
- Set the Named Pipes To Enabled
8. Create Exception of Sqlbrowser.exe
kindly provide me some help with your valuable suggestions.Hi Mukesh Devrani,
Thank you for posting.
Your question is more like SQL. I suggest that you can ask your question in SQL forum.

Oim11gR2- Issue with App Instance
Hi All,
I craeted a test sandbox and a application instance. For some reasons I deleated the app instance and its not visible in GUI. However I can still see the RO, PD and forms for this Resource.
Is it the default behaviour?
AnyIdea?
Thanks
-MukulIn order to completely delete your application Instance from OIM, you will have to do following:
1. Delete the application Instance from sysadmin console.
2. Run the Application Instance Post Delete Processing Job with 'Revoke'/Delete mode.
3. Run the Catalog Synchronization job.
After doing this you can again create application instance of same RO and IT resource instance. -
Issue with multiple instances of OC4J and one JDK installation
Hi,
I've successfully installed two instances of OC4J 10g (10.1.3.0.0) on a single server and am able to run with two differently named JDK 5.0 installs.
However, I've not been able to concurrently run both instances with a single JDK. The 2nd OC4J instance starts, but then stops immediately with a JVM termination.
Does anyone have an idea of the cause and a possible solution to the problem, as the current arrangement adds a level of complexity to upgrades that I'd like to remove?
Thanks,
Malcolm WhiteI run two OC4J 10.1.3.1 instances in parallel without any problem. Both instances use the same JDK and run without any problems. Seems you have some problems in you configuration.

EJB 3.0 Cache Issue With OC4J Instance With Multiple JVM's
I created an EJB 3.0 project in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0 and everything works fine in the embedded OC4J server. I am deploying the application to an OC4J instance consisting of 3 Java Virtual Machines in Oracle Application server 10.1.3 and seem to be getting a different persistence context for each virtual machine. i.e. I'll have 3 browsers that can view the same data even after updating, another 2 browsers that can't see the first 3's changes but can see changes by any browser in this group, etc.
I tried adding the below to the persistence-unit tag in the persistence.xml but it didn't seem to help.

<property name="toplink.cache.shared.default" value="true"/>

How do you get all connections to use the same cache?here is the code for my bean.

Issue with adop fs_clone after upgrade to R12.2.3 on VIS instance
I have installed EBS R12.2.0 Vision instance on Oracle Linux Server release 6.5 x86-64 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel release 3 (3.8.13-16.2.2.el6uek.x86_64) and then updated to R12.2.3. Everything went smooth with the initial install, the AD and TXK patches, and the adop patching cycle for 12.2.3 update. I'm having an issue with the running fs_clone which is the first post-update step from doc 1586214.1. The other adop phases ran OK see below. Also below is the error I'm getting and want to know if anyone has experienced this or any ideas? I've googled and searched MOS but can't find a direct hit. I'm new to adop and struggling to troubleshoot this....any help would be appreciated. I've run the fs_clone phase a couple times but got the same result.

Issue with XML report printing on R12 instance
Hi,
I'm facing issue with printing xml reports on R12 instance and followed the note (How To Print XML Publisher PDF Reports Via The Concurrent Manager:metalink id:338990.1) and configured the pasta printer, still printer output is showing the junk charcters.
Please let me know how to resolve the issue?.Hi Hussien,
We are on 12.1.1 / 11g with AL32UTF8 character set, we have custom reports developed in BI publisher and some some migrated reported from earlier version.
Both BI publisher based custom like PO/Invoice/Cheque Print & seeded reports like "Active users/responsibilites" are being generated successfuly in pdf output. when copied to desktop and printed it prints properly. But when trying to direct output to printer from concurrent request it is printng junk.
I checked pasta configuration, all required ghostscripts tools are on the AIX box, am I missing anything in R12?

Oracle singleton instance issue with OCIStmtFetch()
Hi,
i am folowing a singletom pattern in my VC++ application were only one Oracle instance is created and it is being used through out the application. The OCIStmtFetch() is used twice in the application and when the OCIStmtFetch() is invoked for the second time it returns a OCI_NO_DATA condition. But when i created a new instance of Database use it to invoked the OCIStmtFetch() for the second time it gives a proper result. please can some one help me on why the singleton DBinstance is causing issue with the OCIStmtFetch() for the second time. This forum is about general programming in C, C++, and Fortran, and specifically about using the Oracle Solaris Studio suite of programming tools. Since your question is about using VC++ with Oracle database, you are not likely to get a helpful answer here. (Oracle Solaris Studio is not available on Windows.)
I suggest you try an Oracle database programming forum. Start here:

ThanksHi LaxUdas,
If I understand correctly, the package is developed with Protection Level set as "EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey". When you execute the package via a SQL Agent Job in a Named Instance, the account that job step using is not the user that create the
package. So it cannot be able to connect to the Oracle DB with invalid connection string.
This behavior is by design. In an Integration Services package, the following information is defined as sensitive:
The password part of a connection string.
The task-generated XML nodes that are tagged as sensitive.
Any variable that is marked as sensitive.
EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey uses a key that is based on the current user profile to encrypt only the values of sensitive properties in the package. Only the same user who uses the same profile can load the package. If a different user opens the package,
the sensitive information is replaced with blanks and the current user must provide new values for the sensitive data.
To work around this issue, please refer to the following suggestions:
Change the SSIS Package ProtectionLevel property to EncryptSensitiveWithPassword. This setting uses a password for encryption. To open the package in SSIS Designer (SSDT), the user must provide the package password.
Change the Named Instance SQL Agent Service account to the user that create the package, like your Default Instance.
Use SSIS Package configuration files to store sensitive information, and then store these configuration files in a secured folder. You can then change the ProtectionLevel property to DontSaveSensitive so that the package is not encrypted and does not try
to save secrets to the package. When you run the SSIS package, the required information is loaded from the configuration file. Make sure that the configuration files are adequately protected if they contain sensitive information.

Clearance of aborted instances in workspace in OBPM 10gR3
Hi all,
We have 4000 aborted instances when we see in the OBPM workspace for now. The instances which were aborted later after the 4000 instances cannot be seen now in the workspace when we search for them by the following route:-
Inside the workspace--> Show Filters --> Include the processes whose instances need to be seen --> Status --> Aborted..
How can we delete these 4000 instances from the workspace and how can we see more than 4000 instances aborted in the workspace?
Is there a limit?Poke around your engine's property settings. One of them (Instances cache / PAPI instance retrieval size) is set to 4000.
As far as getting rid of the aborted instances, look at how often your engine's caducator (the "latency" setting) runs (typically every 48 hours) and how long the instances that have reached the end activity (the instance expiration setting) are looked at (typically every 15 days).

Why does the iPhone 4S keep losing the ability to connect to a WiFi server? This is a repeat issue with one of our phones!
I had the same problem with my iphone 4S, ios 7.1.2. The wifi button was grayed out for some time now. I tried several methods that I found in various forums, including the reset of network settings, airplane mode, fridge and more. NOTHING!
Then I finally did what I wanted to avoid - the heating method, and it worked as follows:
1. iPhone turned on, I held a hair dryer close to it while keeping the screen on and watching it while heating the iphone with the hair dryer.
2. When the temperature warning came up on the screen, I put the iphone aside to cool up in room temperature (shut off the display). I turned it on/off couple of times until I saw that the warning was gone and normal screen came back.
3. The wifi was still grayed out.
4. I then did the network settings reset,
iphone wifi was back to normal!! -
Issue with AFP server dropping connections on 10.8.5 server 2.2.2
We are having issues with users getting dropped from their AFP server shares.
These issues did not start happening until we upgraded to 10.8.5 and server 2.2.2
the first symptoms were an occasional user would lose his / her active connection while copying files. They were unable to disconnect from the network shares without physically disconnecting the LAN or disabling the network on their system. Once the connection was removed they could reconnect to the network and establish their AFP shares again.
However this his escalated to every user losing connections to their AFP shares at the same time.
The server has no AFP error in the AFP error log however we are getting diskutil crash reports at around the same time. (See Below)
The server has
smalltree 1x6 8254 with latest drivers supporting a LACP bonded 6 pair connecting to an edgecore (LACP configured)switch.
small tree 10Gb card directly connected to an edit station.
onboard ethernet connected to switch in support of DHCP & DNS. (previous version of server would not see the bonded pair)
Two Accusys A12S2's
(we did not have this dropping connection issue before the upgrade to server 2.2.2 and OSX 10.8.5)
Users connected to any network connection to the server appear to be affected when the AFP shares are disconnected. Direcet connect, onboard ethernet port and Bonded pair connections)
diskutil verifies all shared drives appear to be ok. (All Green)

Source control issues with Azure Pack Web Sites
Struggling to get my Azure Pack Web Sites POC off the ground. Infrastructure is built and I'm ready to deploy a .NET app. I can successfully deploy an app from the gallery and tested and it works so we're good there.
However I'm having an issue with source control and getting an app deployed. We have a local instance of Github enterprise here we use for all code repositories. Can I use this? In my tenant site I have created a new web site and added
an external repository for source control. I put in the HTTP link to my local github enterprise repo and it tries for a minute and returns the following error:
Command 'git.exe fetch external ...' aborted due to no output and CPU activity for 60 seconds. You may increase SCM_COMMAND_IDLE_TIMEOUT setting to solve the issue.
git.exe fetch external --progress
There's nowhere I can specify credentials or SSH keys so azure pack can communicate with my repo (i'm assume this is the issue). I can't put company custom code out on codeplex or public github so that's out. Am I trying to do something that
isn't possible in Azure Pack?I guess I'm confused. When I go into my web site and click the Setup deployment from source control, under the External repository option it says both Git and Mercurial repositories are supported. This is a different button than the GitHub option
for source code. So what's the point of that option is you can't actually use a git repo? -
BW hierarchies issue with BOBJ Reporting tools
Hi All,
Brief about the requirement:
Our client was using Mainframe and other tools for their reporting. Now as they have planned to go for SAP, purchased SAP BW 7 and SAP BOBJ XI 3.1 for warehouse and reporting purposes.
Initial Road map planned for implementation was
o to use Crystal for operational and formatted reporting
o to use WebI for Ad hoc and interactive reporting
o to use Xcelsius for Dashboards
Once we started analysing the requirements, we observed that client requires hierarchies extensively for reporting and they donu2019t want to compromise in that for reporting. At this situation we have explored the options and came to know from the SAP sites that BO got limitations in case of BW hierarchies. But we not able to articulate the what is the exact issue. Is it with only WebI or Crystal also?
What we have articulated is we cannot report the hierarchies in BO in terms of nodes - > Sub nodes -> sub nodes instead we can do as fixed columns. Please add me if i am missing anything else.
And also please let us know options. Options that we were thinking are Implement with BO XI 3.1 considering Advanced analysis tool then upgrade to BO XI 4.1.
Please suggest us, what is the BW & BO hierarchy issue and right tools to use.
Thanks & Regards,
BalaOur client uses XI 3.2 but is experiencing issues with Hierarchical BEX queries returning blanks - the mdx is fine - just webi that seems to have a problem and I'm also trying to determine in exactly which instances this occurs.
XI 4.x supposedly resolves mots issues but here again details are not known.
I.e. hopefully someone can point to an info source that describes in more detail what issues are likely to occur re hierarchies and webi.

Pathetic customer support on new computer - won't buy Toshiba again
As an IT professional, I find Toshiba's phone support pathetic. Extended wait times, even when answered by a tech, without rational resolution. I purchased an All-in-One PX35T, receiving it 3 days ago. Windows Update for Windows 8 kept crashing it
