Issue with AVFoundation AVMediaTypeVideo, Low video quality

Hi,
I was working on an application which capture Camera images without any button press so i use UIGetScreenImage(), reason for using not using takePicture is takePicture make a sound every time it capture images, any how in middle of my project i came to know that now UIGetScreenImage() is private again and i have to use AVFoundation. But i have two issues in using AVFoundation, first one it does not provide all camera functionality, like flash, focus and 2nd which is actually high priority that camera quality is not good, it stuck when i shake my iPhone and all. i use a class name MyAVController, found it on

In Short i want two thing
1. All camera functionality on AVFoundation or any other alternative.
2. Better camera while showing live stream.

Issues with screensaver after playing video in iTunes

I've recently started having an issue with my screensaver not turining itself on if i pause videos played in iTunes (fullscreen), and after escaping fullscreen view and pausing video the screensaver won't turn itself on. At all, not until I restart my iMac.
The iMac is completely up to date (OS X 10.7.2), bought mid-2011, came with Lion. I just got the iMac back from repair service, it should be working fine. Why is this happening?

My guess is that you have an Nvidia Nforce SATA controller, and are affected by a known bug in the Nvidia driver. Apple mention it briefly at the bottom of this document. HP have posted what appears to be a standard Microsoft SATA driver here to work around the problem until Nvidia releases an updated driver. Since it appears to be a standard driver, you may be able to install it on a non-HP system too.

Video export issues with 5D mk II video

Using a trial version I keep running into issues with video slideshow export.
I have some 1080p '24fps' video clips from the 5D II, added them to a new Slideshow, did a Custom Export to h264 with height 720 (which from memory took the width to 1152) and 24fps - I want this to play on AppleTV, but the resulting video starts ok, but has multiple sections of blank video - in QT the frame rate has also been upped to 36fps!
It also takes a ridiculous amount of time to export a short clip, but that's seems par for the course for many of Apple's apps. This is on a 2008 8x3GHz Mac Pro with plenty of RAM, though running Leopard.
Anyone done any A/Bs of performance in Leopard vs Snow Leopard - does it make better usage of multiple cores? (They all have a little activity but it's 10% or so, perhaps 1 core at 70-80%, I can't understand even if it's not using all fully why one isn't getting maxed out with the conversion process).
The slideshow export function seems incredibly buggy - it used to output using AppleTv preset with incompatible frame rates, though they may have fixed that.

Yes, which is why I thought it would be great for AppleTV which can only officially support 720p at 24fps (though 25fps will often work).
If I use an AppleTv preset it will now rescale to 960x540, but I want to use 1280x720.
Previously in 3.0 the AppleTV preset output 720p but at 30fps which is too high for AppleTV.
Are you sure it's not the footage? Have you tried it in FCP? Also, it maybe that 24p isn't supported in A3, but this all just conjecture on my part.
Good thought, but I would imagine QT is the engine supporting the Aperture exports, and if parameters are set correctly it should give the appropriate output.
I'll try using QT Pro and see what that does with a clip.

Z77A-GD65 issues with Geforce GTX 780 Video Card

Hey Guys,
I have a issue with a new PC build.
I think it may be a driver or BIOS setting issue, I hope
I bought a MSI Z77A-GD65 motherboard and below are the specs:
- Intel Core i7-2600 CPU 3.4 Ghz
- BIOS Version E4451IMS V10.8
- Balistix Sport 8GB sticks (Total of 24 GB memory installed)
- Kentek 875w power supply
- Geforce GTX 780 Graphics Card
My problem is with the Geforce GTX 780 video card, I installed a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit and
everything runs and works fine,but when i install the Geforce GTX 780 video card and install the
drivers its all good up to this point but when i restart the computer i get this message in the device
manager ""Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (code 43)"
I have installed different versions of the driver, a few older and few newer versions with the same
outcome.
I tried to flash the BIOS to the latest version 10.11 but had problems with it picking up my harddrive
after it flashed successfully. I even checked the boot up setting and it all looked good just would not
boot up, so i had to revert back to the v10.8 BIOS version for it to work.
I'm not sure if there is a setting in the BIOS that i need to turn on or off. I'm not familar with this BIOS,
is there a place in it so i can see if the BIOS is picking up the video card, it has to or Windows would
not see it right?
I'm stumped here, do you guys know of a Geforce driver version that works well with this video card?
I truely think the card is fine because when i install the card to the motherboard i dont get any weird
issues until the driver is installed and Windows is restarted.
I would greatly appreciate any help and advise that you guys can give me.

Well i wanted to post an update on my new build issue.
Here are my specs:

- Balistix Sport 8GB sticks (Total of 32 GB memory installed) I first had 3 sticks so i got another 8GB stick to fill all 4 banks for total of 32 GB
- Corsair Professional Series 860 Watt Digital ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Platinum Power Supply AX860i (Bought this PS to replace the Kentek PS)
- N780 TF 3GD5/OC (GeForce GTX 780 GAMING) (traded Geforce GTX 780 card for the MSI version of the GTX 780 card)
OK... I got the new Corsair 860w power supply installed and i installed the new MSI GTX 780 video card with the specs above everything installed fine no problems and my son was playing the Bio Shock Infinite game on Steam and about 1 hour into the game he got a blue screen of death, says something like "to prevent damage windows is now resetting" and it turns off so fast can't read the rest of the message.
I'm going to here in a little bit and update all device drivers with MSI Live update utility and also update the motherboard BIOS again to v10.11.
I'm really confused here, I'm also going to take out some memory and try to run it with sticks only in slot 2 & 4 to see if it runs more stable like that, also should i update the video card to the latest driver, i know the latest is not always the greatest driver.
I want to think you guys again for your help & time with this issue. I really dont know what else to do here, everything is new in this PC.

Weird issue with loading and playing videos externally - URGENT

I have a project I'm working on where I have an FLV Playback
component on the stage, with thumbnail buttons below to create sort
of a video gallery. When the user clicks on each of these buttons,
a different FLV file will load in the FLV Playback component, which
currently works GREAT when previewing in Flash.
I'm using the following code to link the button input with
the FLV component on the stage:
btn_Audi.onRelease = function() {
videoPlayer.contentPath = "Audi.flv";
btn_Bridgestone.onRelease = function() {
videoPlayer.contentPath = "Bridgestone.flv";
However, when I go to Publish to a folder to upload to the
web, I go to click on one of the thumbnails and the video never
loads. I get the controller bar sitting there scrolling the
barber-shop style colors, but no video loads. I've checked,
re-checked, and triple-checked to make sure ALL the necessary files
are in the directory (since it seems like it's having some issue
finding or loading the video file(s)). I'm completely out of ideas
and need to know if anyone has any thoughts as to what it could be.
Oh, and should it matter that I have this videoPlayer
component "buried" inside the project, as in Scene 1 > movieClip
> movieClip > videoPlayer ? I wouldn't think it would... but
maybe?

Did you ever resolve why your videos weren't loading? I'm
having exactly the same problem right now, and it's driving me
nuts. The application runs fine on my development network, but only
displays my loader bar on the live web server. I've triple-checked
everything I can think of, but everything seems fine.
Any advice or anything you might remember would sure be
appreciated.

Issue with capturing mini-dv video

Hello, im trying to capture video using my 27" iMac, Mid 2010 and i would like to ask a few questions:
1. has anyone encountered issues (capture stop) while capturing video from Mini-dv tapes using a similar to mine iMac?
2. how do you capture video from mini-dv tapes with your iMac?

most people connect the cam to their computer and import into iphoto, imovie or video capture
most people connect it by firewire or usb

Yosemite issues with Airplay (audio and video stuttering)

I have two very annoying issues with Airplay after upgrading to OS Yosemite (these issues were non-existent with the OS Maverciks) -
1. Periods of Image and audio stuttering lasting approximately 20 seconds, coming on and off at regular and frequent intervals,
2. It is virtually impossible to disconnect the airplay from the Apple TV by selecting "disconnect airplay display" - one needs to restart the machine to disconnect.
The configuration I am using includes the latest release of Apple TV (with latest software), the latest Airport Extreme (with latest software) and the 2013 iMac with the latest OS - Yosemite. I would like to reiterate there was no image and video choppiness / stuttering issue with Macericks. A serach for the stuttering issue shows it was reported by other users as well (following upgrade to the official Yosemite) and was first reported by a number of users during the beta testing of Yosemite.
I would appreciate your advice how to fix the issue.

Hold down the menu and down buttons on the apple TV remote for 6 seconds. It worked for me.
I must admit to be getting a little tired of finding workarounds to Apple's glitches. I now spend hours searching the net to find out how to get their products to do what they say they will.
Remember when things just worked?

Low video quality when uploaded to youtube

I edited a YouTube webseries for some friends of mine using iMovie 11. It was filmed using a Sony Handycam DCR TRV33. This is not a high definition camera, it is standard definition, but the video quality still looked pretty good when I was editing it on iMovie. I exported it to Quicktime, then uploaded it to YouTube from my desktop (I had read that this was better than uploading it directly from iMovie). In Quicktime it looked fine, but then once it was on YouTube the video quality was significantly worse. Does anyone have any tips on how I can improve this? Premiere Pro audio sync issues with 48khz audio on video file and 44.1khz audio on external audio

So, I recorded video and audio on my Canon 5D Mark II at 1080p, 23.976 fps, and 48khz, 16-bit Stereo audio. And I used a Zoom H4 to record an mp3 audio file at 44.1khz Compressed. When trying to sync the audio in Premiere Pro CC, the audio slowly loses sync over time. I already tried to convert the 44.1khz mp3 file to 48khz in Adobe Audition. But that didn't fix the problem. Any ideas?

There's always time-stretch changes to the audio file with "keep pitch unchanged" checked, I suppose. Mind you, I've heard of people doing it but haven't done it myself. There's other possible options I'm sure. There's been quite a few threads here on time-sync issues over time.

Is anyone else having issues with uploading imovie app videos to youtube?

hello everyone one. im scared as heck for posting in here because im honestly afraid all the smart people in here will eat my eyes for ju-ju bees, however here it goes, and thank you to anyone brave enough to help. I've just had the iphone 4s for over a week. as of today, i can not upload any of the imovie app movies to youtube, which was a huge selling feature for me, so i could post video testimonials on the run and not be so invisable on the weekends as a musician. "ive been invisable on social media on weekends as long as ive even known about facebook, and I know its been hurting me."
my first two videos, uploaded without a hitch to facebook and you tube. of course a larger one had to wait until i got home to wifi bc it was too big. anyhow, this morning, my new one made it up to facebook, but a you tube upload has failed 5 times already, and this is upsetting.. only being a musician, taking this step to having a data plan and iphone was a huge risk, but i planned on maxing out what i could from the phone to make it even easier to support my family..
any ideas? please keep in mind im not a teckie, and cant even synch it up to my 5 year old laptop yet... ill be taking an hour trip to the apple store soon to do that.....

BDP-S6200 - issues with Amazon Prime Instant Video

I recently purchased the BDP-S6200. For the most part, it works great. I was able to log into my Amazon Prime account to watch the Instant videos. The problem I have is after I finish watching something, I can't do anything else. Can't go back to the home screen, can't start play over again, etc...nothing. I turn it off and it flashes "off" on the player and won't allow me to turn it back on. I literally have to unplug the player each time to reset it. I know there has to be an easier way or something I'm missing. Any ideas?!

Its my understanding form the Sony techs-named -Charlie-Ulysses-who sounded like_Not Americans_That basically if the player will play a DVD movie all the way through we are out of luck. The warranty that came with it says Sony is only responsible for the hardware_not the software loaded on it. That sure seems strange when I buy a new Computer from HP the software is covered by warranty to ensure that the computer will function using all software loaded on it__They don't say if it will turn on but not load and use software as advertised its no longer their problem.When the BDP-S6200 works, it has great sound and picture BUT!---when the software that’s loaded on it (ALL THE SOFTWARE) when its shipped to me doesn't work and there is no recourse I feel Like SONY let me down.Especially when you spend an hour with a tech and he says expect an email in two or three days that has a shipping label that I can use to return it to be repaired or replaced and THAT never Happens. Issues with embedding large HD video files within keynote

I posted something over at the FCP forum, but Keynote is starting to get problematic when I import and embed 1 to 2 GB HD video files that have background music.
1 time Keynote did a hard hang during a project save and lost 20 or so slides although the thumbnails were still showing.
Trying to save the project is starting to also become a real chore.
I am exporting 3-5 minute long HD video clips shot at 1080i and then deinterlaced in FCP.
HDV already reduces image sharpness it is. I want to keep the quality/footage sharpness up as high as possible. The selected video size ends up being about 1065 x 569, but that is a size, not a sharpness, one of the things I always found confusing when referring to it as "resolution".
So what settings would you suggest when outputting via FCP?
Any Keynote settings or workflows advised?

You could try uploading them to a joint dropbox account that they could then download them from....but how fast it is will depend on the internet connection available.

Issue with deleting 0 byte video mp4 file from iphone 5S

The issue happens when I tried to sync my iPhone 5s photo to iPhone on my Mac. The two 0 byte video file just cannot be sync and iphoto will prompt the error. "Error downloading image. Photo cannot import your photos because there was a problem downloading an image."
I try to use "Image Capture" on the mac to delete it as suggested by many users, but it did not allow me to select the 2 files at all. Could any guru kindly render their kind assistance to this problem. Thanks.

I'll post how I solved it when it happened to me.
the issue was caused by importing 3 months of camera roll using Image Capture (I do not use iPhoto anymore).
after importing all the items, I selected them all in the Image Capture window and clicked on "delete".
a few ghost files (video only) were left behind, all of them 0 Bytes.
tried disconnecting/restarting the device but the issue persisted.
no way to delete the video references from the mac.
had to go in camera roll and manually delete them all.
using "select' on the top right you can tap them and delete after they are all checked.

Issue with nano and music video playlist

Hello, I have two ipods, a video and a nano. I have a playlist for music videos for the video ipod. To keep them separate I checked "manually manage musc" and checked "sync music" and "selected playlist. I've checked all the playlist, except music video. Under my music, not all the songs in my library show up unless I don't have "manually manage music" checked. What should I do to have certain playlists show up and have all my songs in my library show up? Thanks in advance.

Also, the music videos show up on my summary. How do I get those off as well?
