Issue with db link

Question

Hi Sir
I have a query which is taking a lot of time to execute
select empno,ename from emp where (ename='SACHIN' OR ename LIKE REPLACE('MAN','_','\_')||'\_%' escape '\') and empno=1001;
This table is a dblink in another database.
My question is this query is taking a lot of time to execute.
The bottleneck is usage of Like Operator.Any help to resolve the performance of the query to avoid performance issue?

Hi
ADMIN.EMP is a table name and EMPNAME.MAN.COM is a db link which is used for accessing from different schema
Grants are already allocated to ADMIN.EMP to user
Please check the answers to your below questions
How many times this select is used in the procedure?
Ans:once
Does this query is built dynamically (the value 'SACHIN' seems to be something changing and concatenated) ? (maybe you lose the time in parsing to often this query)
No
You say "the table emp is refring remote object" but i don't seen any dblink:
Does emp is a view with a dblink?
EMPNAME.MAN.COM is a db linkl
Have you given me the whole select ? (2nd time)

dbms_output.put_line(l_job ||' '||l_salgrade );
end;
The above query is taking lot of time in my pl/sql code
