Issues in executing SeedDemoCommunity example

Hi all,
I am new to OBPM 11g.
I have installed OBPM 11g suite but Iam facing some issues while deploying seed Demo application.
I get the following error
Exception : ORABPEL-10585 Service error. Internal Error; Service error occurs in JpsProvider in method getIdentityStore(). Refer to the log file that is configured for oracle.soa.services.identity for more details on this error and contact Oracle Support Services
Initially I created RCU with XE DB (without setting JDBC_TRIM_BLOCKS to true). I later dropped that and recreated it again but still the same issue.
I tried deploying the application manually (instead of ANT scripts) and execute the application. The application works well but when I select seed community and submit I get the above error.
I dont have any clue from where does this come.
Is there any way I can execute the demo application manually???
What will be the provider that will be added in weblogic if this application works well?
Can you please help me sort out the above error. whatever fix I try to apply, I end up with the same error :( :(
Thanks,
Alice

Hi Alice
1. If you see that Workspace is deployed to AdminServer, this means you have a Developers domain with just one AdminServer where all the SOA Modules are also deployed. In this case, I hope you deployed the EAR to this AdminServer itself and run the servlet URL to seed demo users.
2. I am confused with your question about managed server and separate domains. Basically, when you run Config Wizard to create the Domain, in the first initial screen, you have some options like what components to include in that domain like SOA or BPM or WebServices or just plain regular Weblogic itself. Now in SOA 11.5 onwards, they added another option like Developers Domain for SOA and BPM. If you choose Developers domain, it will create just one AdminServer and deploy all soa modules also to this. The advantage is you just need to start only server AdminServer and you can deploy any soa/bpm. This helps on local windows where you do not have lot of memory or cpu. Now, if you do not choose Developers but choose regular domain, then it will create 1 AdminServer and 1 soa_server1. All soa modules are deployed to soa_server1. Now for your testing, you had to start 2 servers: first AdminServer and then soa managed server. This means you need more memory and cpu for you machine. This is how it will be in QC and UAT PROD Envs.
3. When you create a managed server it will be available for that domain. If you have more then one managed server like soa_server1, soa_server2, then you additionally create something called cluster and add these 2 into this cluster. Then you deploy your soa/bpm apps to this cluster.
4. There is huge difference with the earlier older 10g versions which used oracle app server and to some extent weblogic server (you had ALBPM softwares from former BEA). But now 11g onwards all modules are automatically deployed like bpmworkspace ear etc to the soa server when you create the domain. You have very little or no control at all to do any customizations and redeploy. You cannot modify them and its not recommended also. In some scenarios, we extract some files from this EAR/WAR and update those files. Then put these files back into EAR/WAR. I would not recommend this.
5. If you really want to customize Workspace, then you should have SOA 11.5 + FP (Feature Pack) applied or higher like 11.6. For SOA 11.5 +FP, they gave some flexibilities to customize look and feel, and other stuff.
6. Below old post, will give some details like new features in Feature Pack. Also there is another link that has PDF File with some good stuff for Customization.

Issue While executing the Query for Pagination using ROWNUM with like.
    Database is Oracle11G.
Oracle Database Table contains 8-9 lakh records
    1) SQL equal (=)
    SELECT /*+ FIRST_ROWS(n) */ ROWNUM RNUM, A.* FROM LINE A
    WHERE A.REFERENCE = 'KMF22600920'
    Execution Time:- 0.00869245 seconds
    Returns 2 resultsets
    2) SQL like (one %)
    SELECT /*+ FIRST_ROWS(n) */ ROWNUM RNUM, A.* FROM LINE A
    WHERE A.REFERENCE = 'KMF22600920%'
    Execution Time:- 0.01094301 seconds
    Returns 2 resultsets
    3) SQL like (two%)
    SELECT /*+ FIRST_ROWS(n) */ ROWNUM RNUM, A.* FROM LINE A
    WHERE A.REFERENCE like '%KMF22600920%'
    Execution Time:- 6.43989658 seconds
    Returns 2 resultsets
In Pagination, we are using Modified version of SQL Query 3) with ROWNUM as mentioned below :-
    4) SELECT * FROM (
    SELECT /*+ FIRST_ROWS(n) */ ROWNUM RNUM, A.* FROM LINE A
    WHERE REFERENCE like '%KMF22600920%' AND ROWNUM <= 20 ) WHERE RNUM > 0
    Execution Time:- Infinite
ResultSets:- No as execution time is infinite
    a) Instead of like if we use = in the above query it is returning the 2 resultsets (execution time 0.02699282 seconds)
    b) Instead of two % in the above query, if use one example REFERENCE like 'KMF22600920%' it is returning the 2 resultsets (execution time 0.03313019 seconds)
Issue:- When using two % in like in the above query i.e. REFERENCE like '%KMF22600920%' AND ROWNUM <= 20 ) , it is going to infinite.
Could you please let us know what is the issue with two % used in like and rownum
    5) Modified version of Option1 query (move out the RNUM condition AND RNUM <= 20)
    SELECT * FROM (
    SELECT /*+ FIRST_ROWS(n) */ ROWNUM RNUM, A.* FROM LINE A
    WHERE REFERENCE like '%KMF22600920%' ) WHERE RNUM > 0 AND RNUM <= 20
    Execution Time:- 7.41368914 seconds
    Returns 2 resultsets
Is the above query is best optimized query which should be used for the Pagination or still can improve on this ?

This would be easier to diagnose if there was an explain plan posted for the 'good' and 'bad' queries. Generally speaking using '%' on both sides precludes the use of any indexes.

  • Authorization issue while executing a Web Template in SAP BI

    Hello All,
I am facing an issue while executing a webtemplate .
I have a webtemplate which is being executed by end user, upon execution user must be able to fill in the value for data and submit. The query uses a characteristic KPI identifier ,SBU,BU,product, Region,Affiliate etc . All the mentioned charcaterisitics in Analysis authorization have * value except  KPI identifier and SBU. And Activity 02,03 is provided for the infoprovider.
When a single value (Ex:KPI01) is provided in KPI identifier the webtemplate works fine in change mode. But when additonal value (Ex KPI02) is being added to the characterstic KPI identifier the webtemplate opens only in display mode. There is no authorization failure as well in the RSEC trace.
Actually we created two separate roles for each KPI identifier earlier but when two roles provided to a user in combination it was behaving the way i mentioned above. So we tried to create a single role with two values of KPI Identifier in single analysis authorization and it is still the same.
Please suggest what might be the reason for this behavior. Thank you
    Regards,
    Mohammed Ghouse

    Hi Brian,
    Thanks for your reply
RSECADMIN does not show any missing authorizations when checked , but what is observed is that the check happens only on display
These are the characteristics being checked by the query
    Characteristic      Content in SQL format
    OTCACTVT         GRI_IC005 IN ('KPI054','KPI055')
    GRI_IC005          AND GRI_IC007 = 'MFE'
                                AND 0TCAACTVT = '02'
    GRI_IC007
    Comparison with Following Authorized Set
    Characteristic      Content in SQL format
    0TCAACTVT      I CP *
    GRI_IC005        I EQ KPI054
                               I EQ KPI055
    GRI_IC007          I EQ MFE
And it says its authorized. But still the screen is in display mode. What might be the reason for this behavior.

  • Database access issue with EXECUTE AS with impersonated User account

    Hello,
I have been facing one issue with EXECUTE AS option in SQL Server 2008 R2. Following is the scenario:
I have two databases TestDB1 and TestDB2 on the same SQL Server instance. I have SQL Admin level permissions on the server. I have written a stored procedure in TestDB1 which will execute the scripts(SELECT Statement) againest the table from TestDB2(using
three part query). To execute the proc from TestDB1 I have used EXECUTE AS option with a user (User1) having select permissions on table from TestDB2. The same proc working fine when I use table from TestDB1 but not working on TestDB2 database. Thorwing error
saying permission denied. I have tried enabling the Ownership chains on both the databases but no luck.
Please help me with the situation here.
    Thanks!
    Swami A Polnati.

You can also use EXECUTE AS. But then you need to set the database trustworthy, which is not good for security reasons.
Enabling cross-database chaining will not help, since you are using dynamic SQL.
Dan was kind to point you to my article. I recommend that you read it, and learn to embrace the technique with certificates. Yes, it is a long article and I understand that you are impatient to get a solution quickly. However, the article is written from
the point of view that the reader is interested in learning for the future and not only get a solution for the moment. Certificate-signing as a technique is very very useful in several contexts.
The article does also discuss EXECUTE AS, and I discuss in more detail why setting the database trustworthy may be a security risk. (And as long you don't fully understand what I'm talking about, it is a security risk.)

    Hi,

Ok so I took this link and viewed over it.  I am new to Javascript and know very little about it.  Therefore this script kind of makes no sense to me.
    <script language="JavaScript"><!--

    //--></script>
    <a href="javascript:myOpen('page.htm','windowName','height=100,width=100')">text link</a>
I chose the option to exectute javascript.  Does captivate need all of this including <script language=JavaScript">  Here is how I edited the script.  Should I make any changes to what is in bold?

  • Issue while executing the report

    Hello experts,
I have an issue related to executing the BI Report. In one report , i get an issue of Time Out, as the report is executed for a single day only with a single restriction. Also i execute the same report in RSRT, there also it gives a short dump. I checked the data into the related component for the same selection parameter values. here I get the data but it is creating issue while executing in RSRT or analyser or EP.
what is happening there am not able to understand. please advice.
Also searched in SDN but not get the relevant thread.
    Thanks in advance

    hii
The query does not includes any RKF, CKF any complex calculations. as I said before also query is based on MP which is designed on a single Cube. There are no such navigational Attributes used for selection, Number of records are not more than 300 on that particular selection parameter
there is only one info object which is creating issue & it is a master info object. If i am restricting this info object in the query & then executes the query , it gives the error msg also i put a variable for input parameter, & there I restrict the value, then also query executes with an error msg
But if query is not restricted with  any value for that info object then query executes with in a second.
    Thanks

  • Authorization issue to execute query via analyzer

    Dear,
We are experiencing an authorization issue that we can not solve...
We have grant to user the expected objects to execute query (S_RS_COMP & S_RS_COMP1) and the central objects like S_GUI, S_USER_AGR.
When we test in RESCEADMIN, everything is fine. We can execute the query.
When we test it in the analyzer, the variable screen does not pop-up and we get the error message:
"There is no variable in the workbook, which allows user input"
Does anybody have a direction to help us to orientate our investigation?

  • Profit Center issue when executing GR55

    Hi Experts,
I was reported by the business users that they see transactions with the Dummy Profit Centers when they run report for Balance Sheet and P&L Statements. They dont want to see any Dummy Profit Center Report Transactions in their financial statementsin both BSand P&LStatements.
For example a number of Documents posted against same G/L account and few of them have dummy profit centers, users doesn't want to see them.
    I already checked in tables BSAD,BSID, BSIS,BSAD, BKPF,BSEG
TCodes: FAGL3KEH (No default profit centers allocated to anyone of the company codes), FBL3N, FBL5N, VF03
So we know that there is issue but I need to know the process to find it.
Can anyone help me out the procedure to find out the issue. This is very high priority issue.
    Thanks,
    Andy Roger

Refer to the IMG Activity Documentation for the following IMG Node.
Financial Accounting (New) -> General Ledger Accounting (New) -> Master Data -> Profit Center -> Create Dummy Profit Center
    Here is the documentation:
    Create Dummy Profit Center
This function lets you create the dummy profit center for the current controlling area.
The dummy profit center is updated in data transfers whenever the object to which the data was originally posted (cost center, order, and so on) is not assigned to a profit center. This ensures that the data in Profit Center Accounting is complete. You can later send the data on the dummy profit center to the other profit centers using assessment or distribution.
You create the master record for the dummy profit center using this special transaction. To change or display it, use the normal profit center maintenance functions.
The name of the dummy profit center is displayed in the controlling area settings for Profit Center Accounting.
    Prerequisites
The standard hierarchy must exist for the current controlling area.
    Actions
Enter the name of the dummy profit center. The rest of the steps are the same as when you create a normal profit center.
Choose the function Extras -> Set controlling area first to make sure that the correct controlling area is set.
I am guessing this is where your dummy profit center postings are coming from (a cost center / order or some other account assignment object that is not assigned to a profit center).  It should be mandatory (in your month-end close) to run reports on dummy profit center(s) and move balances, if any, to the real profit center, before you pull financial statements.

    I read from article
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/text/pdf/ot11g_new_features.pdf
That we don’t need to modified query as we had to do with SDATA(as we are doing in above examples) and optimizer will realize that query can be satisfied by the text index and will “push down” the filtering of rows into the text index processor rather than doing table access for filtering on sdata column but when I tried to write that query it was doing table access to filter for filter by column.
    My Questions:
    a.     Is it possible as mentioned in above point(point number 5) that we don’t need to write SDATA query in contains clause and optimizer will use composite index automatically.
    b.     Is there any workaround for using string literal > 4000 char in contains clause.
    c.     Why performance degrades lineally when using multiple contains clause.
    d.     Can we use in clause in SDATA and write query like this:
    i.     SDATA(queryid in ( 'q1',’q2’))
    /* Table */
    create table ContentStore (ResourceID raw(16), QueryID VARCHAR2(38),IFID VARCHAR2(38),ISTimeStamp number,ISProtocolName VARCHAR2(100),ismimecontenttype varchar2(100),ISToBeDisplayed number(1),IndexedMetaText CLOB)

Problem: - Performance of below query degrades linearly as number of contains clause for same column increases.
    Execution plan :
It seems accessing same index multiple times becoming costly and taking more time. (We can see same domain Index has been accessed 3 times for 3 contains clause ()

    /* 6.My Questions:
    */

SQE is really breakthrough for me but I dont know why it is not working in my case.I tried it onOracle 11g installaion with window and Linux both but did not get success.
Please suggest me what I need to check when Installing if it is installation problem?

  • Issue with executing Business Rules from Planning web

    Hi,
We are using Hyperion Planning 9.3.0.1 and we keep getting an issue with the Business Rules. We get an error if we try to run the rules from Planning web. The same rules validates and executes fine if we run it from AAS. This issue gets resolved if we restart the Planning and RMI service. But this issue keeps happening randomly. Is there a permanent resolution to it? Is it a bug or I am missing something here?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Amol

    Hi,
Have you installed any of the patches for 9.3.0.1, I think it goes up to 9.3.0.1.09
One of the fixes was :-
8-665086601 (6588823) – When the Business Rules connection to the relational database is lost, Business Rules does not reconnect to it. To solve this problem, an optional property, HBR_CONNECTION_VALIDATE_TIME, was added to HBRServer.properties. This property specifies a time interval for checking the connection between Business Rules and the relational database. If the connection is not valid, a new connection is established. The time interval is specified in milliseconds and defaults to 300,000 (five minutes).
Though I know there has been more attention to fixing known issues on 9.3.1 than 9.3.0.1
    Cheers
