Issues with coldfusion.navigate (CF9) in Safari & Chrome

I am using Coldfusion 9. I have a ColdFusion.navigate call in a cfdiv tag located within a Cflayout tag (type tab).
The following piece of code is located in a file called "inc_shjobs.cfm" and is being called using the src attribute from a Cflayout tag on another page:
<script>
        ColdFusion.navigate('inc_shjobs.cfm?morejobs','jobs1')
  </script>
<cfdiv id="jobs1">
<form name="ne">
    <table width="98%" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="6" border="0" bgcolor="white" >
      <tr>
        <td colspan="1" align="center"><br />
<input type="submit" name="morejobs" style="font-size:1.4em; font-style:bold " value="Expand Job Search" onClick="javaScript:ColdFusion.navigate('inc_shjobs.cfm?morejobs','jobs1');    "></td>
      </tr>
  </tr>
  <tr><td><br /><br /></td></tr>
       <tr><td valign="top">
             <strong>Search Within</strong> <select name="radius" >
      <option value="0" <cfif session.trn.jsradius is 0> selected</cfif>>0 miles</option>
      <option value="5" <cfif session.trn.jsradius is 5> selected</cfif>>5 miles</option>
      <option value="10" <cfif session.trn.jsradius is 10> selected</cfif>>10 miles</option>
      <option value="25" <cfif session.trn.jsradius is 25> selected</cfif>>25 miles</option>
      <option value="50" <cfif session.trn.jsradius is 50> selected</cfif>>50 miles</option>
      <option value="100" <cfif session.trn.jsradius is 100> selected</cfif>>100 miles</option>
      <option value="-1" <cfif session.trn.jsradius is -1> selected</cfif>>Statewide</option>
      <option value="-2" <cfif session.trn.jsradius is -2> selected</cfif>>Nationally</option>
      </select>
    <input type="submit" name="rad" value="Go" onClick="javaScript:ColdFusion.navigate('inc_shjobs.cfm?radius='+ne1.radius.options[radiu s.selectedIndex].value,'jobs1')">  center of  <strong><cfoutput>#session.trn.city#</cfoutput></strong></td>
<td  valign="top"><a href="dsp_jobresearch.cfm" ><img src="images/justjobs1.gif" alt="Just Job Search" border="0" /> </a></td>
         </tr>
    </table>
    </form>
    </cfdiv>
In IE and FF, it behaves approriately by loading only the div. In Chrome and Safary, it reloads the entire page and ignores the parameters. When the same code was run under CF8, it also worked.
Anyone got a clue as to why?
Thanks!

I just tested ColdFusion.navigate on Safari and Chrome (Win 7) and everything works fine.
I recently ran into that same behavior and it had to do with submitting a form. I set an onSuccess or an onSubmit javascript function, which caused an exception and IE didn't handle it very well. It reloaded the entire page.
I suspect it has to do with a javascript error. I would start by doing some simple js debugging.

  • Issues with iMac freezing using Mail, Safari, Chrome

    I'm having issues with my iMac freezing, forcing me to hard restart my computer each time. I think I've had to powered down via power button altleast a twenty times today and yesterday. I've restarted 4 times just trying to finish this post
    It seemed like I was only freezing using Safari at websites like facebook and youtube.com. So I switched to Chrome, which lasted a few hours until I started freezing on that as well.
    I logged on as a Guest account and they seemed to be working fine. I thought Flash may be the issue so I re-installed but no dice. I emptied cache, cleared history from each browser, etc -- no help.
    Then today I started freezing just using mail. While typing a message, auto correct attempted to correct a word and my system completely locked up from that.
    I have plenty of hard drive space, RAM isn't an issue either.
    Here's some of my system log just before one of my recent freezes:

    I uninstalled the Glims plug-in on safari, and that's seemed to cure a little bit of the problem with safari. But I'm still getting hang-ups and freezes. I'm not even noticing a pattern anymore with which apps and so forth are causing it.

  • Issue with printing Indesign exported PDF in Chrome

    I have created a file in CS6 and exported it to a two sided PDF. This PDF works when printing from the PDF.
    I have uploaded it as a document link on a website and when clicking on the link it opens in a separate window. If people use Internet Explorer or download the file the PDF and print it it looks perfect.
    If the user is using Google Chrome only a section of the PDF prints at a large size. It looks like it thinks the PDF is an A3 so only prints the bottom left hand corner.
    Things I have already tried - which all have the same issue.
    Creating a brand new InDesign file and exporting reuploaded on the website
    Saving it as a IDML file and exporting and reuploaded on the website
    Had someone else export the file
    Tried printing from google chrome outside the office
    Checked no issues with the website backend
    Checked with the IT company that services our systems.
    Thanks in advance of your help.

  • Alignment Issues with Spry Menu Bar in Safari

    www.laurentambard.com
    I am new to CS5 and currently building a site for a friend.  Having issues with aligning then far right spry menu bar so that it is flush with the page.  It only shows a problem on Safari (as far as I know).  Also the second tab (About) is dropping down slightly when the drop down menu is selected and not sure how to fix it.

    If you place the menubar in a container with an ID of nav or similar and a background color of #EEE so that it blends in with the background colour of the menu items, the centralise the menubar and menu items as per http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/menubar/CenteringHorizontalMenuBarSample.h tml, it should go a long way to meeting your requirements.

  • Recordset issue with Coldfusion

    I just reinstalled Coldfusion MX 7 locally and when I went to
    create a new recordset in DW MX 2004 it sees the tables in the
    correct db but gives me the absolute path of the table
    (C:\CFusionMX7\webroot\directory\db\table) instead of the table
    name (table). This has even taken place with recordsets I created
    before reinstalling CFM7. But all recordsets and code is working
    correctly.
    Can anyone give me any ideas on why this is happening?
    Thank you in advance for any help.
    Steve Miller

    I figured out the issue. The problem is with the CFMX7.2
    download. They created a patch that can be downloaded to fix the
    issue.

  • Issue with running Java applets on Safari 6.1

    I conducted a system capability check on the course site I access (Defense Acquisition University) and one of the results indicated that I do not have the capability to run applets (requirements to run all courses).  I verified my setings and I do have Java ver. 7 update 45 installed.  I verified Safari's security preferences and confirmed that the "Enable Java Script" is checked.  I tried configuring the website settings for Java plug-in but cannot figure out how to add url on the configured websites box.  Is there any way to enable running applets in Safari?  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

  • Issue with pop ups on Mobile Safari 5.1.4

    Recently I've updated my Ipad through iOS 5.1 and when I tried to access my company web system, within the confirmation of the message to allow the popup to been loaded I've notice that if I tring to access the regular web address with the pop-up block disabled a web page blinks and the login page doesn't appear.
    If I try to access the login's page dorectly the login's page open with no difficulty.
    When I try to access in oldests versions of the mobile safary - like 4.3, I don't notice this behavior.
    Could you provide any help for me?
    Thanks in advance!

    That's just the way that Safari works now. If you do not allow the pop ups - the page will blink as you have seen but it will not load.
    I cannot remember what earlier versions of Safari used to do, but you have to set Safari to Block pop ups >Off.

  • I am having issues with loading gmail in my safari.when i open gmail in safaari it just shows loading but doesnot open. Neither it shows safari cannot display the files nor dere is any internet problems. I am confused what it is?

    cannot browse gmail in safari

    If your still having problems, or anyone else......
    For future info, your in the wrong forum, your need the MBP area, this is the MacPRO area, no big deal, I can barely keep up with the M & B & P, etc...
    Sounds like when it migrated over your old settings it may have gotten corrupted? It has been known to work if you were to just make another "Location" and just re-enter the information again and sometimes that will help. You might take it back to the store and see if it does it on their connection also. The silly person should have tested it first before letting you go.
    Hope you got it fixed...

  • Issue with ColdFusion and CFEclipse setup

    I'm a newbie CF user and I'm trying to get my environment set up which consists of:
    CF Server version 9,0,0,251028 64 bit
    Apache 2.2
    Eclipse Indigo Server Release 2
    CFEclipse version 1.4.4
    OS: Windows 7 64 bit
    I tried going through this tutorial to get CFEclipse set up:
    http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/library/os-eclipse-cfeclipse/?ca=dgr-lnxw06CF -Eclipse
    but when I get to the step of opening index.cfm in the "Browser View" tab (Figure 11), I get "webpage cannot be found".
    How do I configure CFEclipse to properly point to my ColdFusion server?

    What URL did you enter in the 'Edit URL' field? What was the URL in the Browser View when you got the 'webpage cannot be found'? Verify that the two are the same.

  • Pdf issues with safari 5.1

    Hello,
    I upgraded to safari 5.1 and the pdf files associated with many research articles do not open the same window (i.e. browser) but gets downloaded and only opens in preview or adobe. This was not an issue with the previous version of safari. I checked in the preferences of Safari and could not find any thing that will allow me open the pdf in the browser window.
    Any suggestions/help is appreciated.
    Best,
    Gaurav.

    Adobe Reader plug-in does not work with Safari 5.1. Our workaround is to use a plug-in called PDF Browser Plugin from www.schubert-it.com. Be warned, though, that if you don't use the plugin's toolbar to navigate and print the PDFs, Safari will crash.
    Better yet would be to go back to Safari 5.0. There are many other problems with 5.1.

    You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7-8 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7-8 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

    Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
    Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
    To clear cache and cookies do the following:
    #Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
    #Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
    #Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
    #From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
    #Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
    Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.

    I have macbook pro and am on OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 . I am having lot of warning message on my browser that my computer is infected with malware/spyware and use mackeeper. How do I solve this issue . This is happening more on chrome and Safari browser

    There is no need to download anything to solve this problem. You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow Apple Support's instructions to remove it.
    If you have trouble following those instructions, see below.
    Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. This procedure works as of now, as far as I know. It may not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.
    The VSearch malware tries to hide itself by varying the names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming pattern.
    Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    A folder named "LaunchDaemons" may open. Look inside it for two files with names of the form
              com.something.daemon.plist
    and
               com.something.helper.plist
    Here something is a variable string of characters, which can be different in each case. So far it has always been a string of letters without punctuation, such as "cloud," "dot," "highway," "submarine," or "trusteddownloads." Sometimes it's a meaningless string such as "e8dec5ae7fc75c28" rather than a word. Sometimes the string is "apple," and then you must be especially careful not to delete the wrong files, because many built-in OS X files have similar names.
    If you find these files, leave the LaunchDaemons folder open, and open the following folder in the same way:
    /Library/LaunchAgents
    In this folder, there may be a file named
              com.something.agent.plist
    where the string something is the same as before.
    If you feel confident that you've identified the above files, back up all data, then drag just those three files—nothing else—to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Close the Finder windows and restart the computer.
    Don't delete the "LaunchAgents" or "LaunchDaemons" folder or anything else inside either one.
    The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you never reinstall it. You can stop here if you like, or you can remove two remaining components for the sake of completeness.
    Open this folder:
    /Library/Application Support
    If it has a subfolder named just
               something
    where something is the same string you saw before, drag that subfolder to the Trash and close the window.
    Don't delete the "Application Support" folder or anything else inside it.
    Finally, in this folder:
    /System/Library/Frameworks
    there may an item named exactly
                v.framework
    It's actually a folder, though it has a different icon than usual. This item always has the above name; it doesn't vary. Drag it to the Trash and close the window.
    Don't delete the "Frameworks" folder or anything else inside it.
    If you didn't find the files or you're not sure about the identification, post what you found.
    If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.
    The trouble may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
    This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
    In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
    Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
              Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
              Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.
