Issues with object maintenance on development system

How would you maintain your BW object development - backend and frontend - on BWD system after they have been transported and imported to BWQ? That is how would you prevent the last recently imported objects from getting changed for no reason at all?
We have a situation where we transported and imported all recently changed development from BWD to BWQ, and the objects now have been changed to something else not matching from what we had transported to BWQ. The changes were not called for per our user's requirement. In order to fix this we would have to check all obejcts from BWQ and then to correct them on BWD back to the way they were last transported.
We are validating the data on BWQ and we would not want to redo the development again to revert back to their orginal state. We would want to ony make correction from what we last transported.
How can this be resolved? Could we put authorizations access to certain objects based on who has developed it on BWD to control the changes on BWD and transports to BWQ? Is this how it would work?

Really... Basis folks take things so personal. They're touchy, sensitive, and always annoying . Surely I wouldn't want to make friends with Basis folks. I'll be polite and cordial but it doesn't mean I like them. Besides they are the ones to support the developers and they must do what I say.
Another approach to this would be to copy client BWQ to BWD.
Those Basis folks better do some work besides complaining and find faults at others.
It's get itchy when they start complaining. They would give me a butt cringe...

    We are having the issue on hundreds of systems and I am rolling out the readiness tool mentioned above to prevent other systems from being affected.  In the mean time I have stopped deploying MS13-098 and am hoping Microsoft will go ahead and let all
    of their customers know about the problem instead of just one country.  Hopefully the original bulletin will be updated with this known issue.

    PPoj,
    Apple has offered replacement or pro-rated refunds in the US as a settlement of a class action lawsuit, not because of pride in their design-centric approach to their products. If you seek a similar replacement/refund program in India, then the odds are pretty good that you’d need a similar legal approach with which to convince Apple to offer a similar program there. If you’re unwilling to wait for such an event, then you can purchase a replacement power cable now, and hope for a pro-rated refund at some point in the future.

    Hi Drbobdog, there shouldn't be a compatibility with Android OS 2.2.3. There may be a compatability with the device itself.
    Here are the system requirements:

    (also seen here as well : http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/platforms/ )

  • Two ABAP Development Clients with Transport enabled in Development System

    Hello All,
    I have a unique situation in my development systems. We currently have two abap development clients with client settings which allows repository transports to be created. The reason for this setup is because there are two different abap development teams who want to work independently.
    Has anyone see two development clients in development system? Do you see any risk with having two abap development clients with transport enbaled? Should I force them to work in ONLY ONE ABAP development client?
    I would like to know your thoughts?
    Thx...Rocky

    Hello,
    It may not a good idea to have two development clients. You have to manage with the following issues:
    (1) Customizing transports need to be moved to two clients
    (2) You may have to peridically sync. them between each other with all the development objects
    (3) Data needs to refreshed in two clients for development/unit test purposes
    (4) Same object may be edited in two clients independently at the same time which is likely to go to Production at different times resulting in version sequencing issues
    (5) Vension of data of object will be lost if you want to retrieve old version.
    Thanks,
    Venu

  • Serious performance issue with LV 7.1 Development Environment

    I'm posting this issue to the forums prior to submitting a bug report to ensure that the problems I'm having are reproducible. To reproduce this bug, you're going to have to be an advanced user with a large project (hundreds to thousands of VIs) as the performance problem is related to the number of VIs loaded.
    The issue is the increasingly poor performance of the LabVIEW 7.1 Development Environment as the number of VIs in memory increases. The actions affected include switching between front panel and diagram, saving a VI, copy and paste, clicking a menu, and the mysterious time spent (compiling? editing the runtime menu? changing the toolbar state?) between pressing the run button and when the code actually starts executing. Scrolling and, interestingly, copying via a control-drag are not affected. Running time of entirely on-diagram code does not seem to be affected.
    These problems are quite severe and significantly decrease my productivity as a programmer. Since they are development environment UI issues, it's been difficult for me to find a good example VI; the best I can do is the attached "LV Speed Test.vi". It doesn't test the issues that affect me most, but it seems to suffer from the same problem.
    This simple VI just shows and hides the menu bar 100 times in a tight for loop. When it is the only VI loaded, it executes in about 350 msec on my machine. (2.4 GHz P-IV/640 MB RAM/Win2k). However, when I load a single project-encompassing VI (let's call it the "giant") that references a total of about 900 user and VI-lib subVIs, the test routine takes almost a minute and half to run...about 240 times slower! I've tried this on my laptop with similar results.
    The problem appears to be related to the *number* of VIs loaded and not the memory utilization. For example, if I close the "giant", and create a new VI ("memhog") that does nothing but initialize a length 20,000,000 array of doubles and stores it in an uninitialized shift register, LabView's overall memory usage (as shown in the task manager) jumps enormously, but LV Speed Test executes in about 450 msec...only slightly slower than with a fresh copy of Labview.
    The problem seems to be related to excessive context switching. The Windows task manager shows over a thirteen hundred page faults occur when "LV Speed Test" is run with the "giant" in the background, versus zero or none when run by itself or when "memhog" has used up 160+MB of space.
    The problem only seems to affect the frontmost window. (Unfortunately, that's where we LV programmers spend all of our time!) If you start "LV Speed Test" and then put "giant" in the foreground "LV Speed Test" runs much faster. In fact, if you use the VI server to put the "giant" VI in the foreground programmatically at the start of "LV Speed Test", execution time drops back to 450 msec, and there are no page faults!
    These results show the issue is not related to video drivers or the Windows virtual memory system. My suspicion is that there is a faulty routine in LV 7.1 that is traversing the entire VI hierarchy every time certain events are thrown in the foreground window. It could be due to a problem with the Windows event tracking system, but this seems less likely.
    I have been programming LV for about 7 years and switched from LV 6.1 to 7.1 about four months ago. I know NI engineers have put thousands of hours developing and testing LV 7.1, but honestly I find myself wishing I had never upgraded from using LV 6.1. (To whomever thought "hide trailing zeros" should be the default for floating point controls...what were you thinking?!)
    I know each new version of LabView causes old-timers like me to grouse that things were better back in the days when we etched our block diagrams on stone tablets, etc., and honestly I'm not going to go back. I am committed to LabView 7.1. I just wish it were not so slow on my big projects!

    Hi,
    I can confirm this behavior. Setting the execution system to "user
    interface" helps a bit, but there is still a big difference.
    I get a feeling it has something to do with window messages, perhaps
    WM_PAINT or something, that is handled differently if a VI is not
    frontmost... But what do I know...
    Don't know if it should be called a bug, but it sure is something that could
    be optimized.
    Regards,
    Wiebe.

  • Issues with privileges in HCP development

    Hi Everyone,
    Issue with insufficient privilege while using data preview on Attribute & Analytical view.
    Executed following command after going through some reviews:
    GRANT SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE ON SCHEMA "DEV_XXXXXXXX" TO _SYS_REPO WITH GRANT OPTION;
    But the above statement couldn't fetch anything. Please guide with the system privilege issues

    Hi Vivek,
    Couldn't find the _SYS_BIC schema. Tried many options mentioned in SCN. But couldn't fetch anything out the solution in SCN.
    Recently I came across following steps:
    1. Make sure _SYS_REPO has privilege SELECT WITH
    GRANT OPTION for the schemas used. In order to grant _SYS_REPO this privilege
    you can execute the following statement:
    GRANT SELECT ON SCHEMA <YOUR_SCHEMA> TO _SYS_REPO WITH GRANT OPTION;
    2. Make sure the user activating the Object has at
    least SELECT privilege over the schemas used within the scenario. SQL
    statement to grant this privilege would be:
    GRANT SELECT ON SCHEMA <YOUR_SCHEMA> TO <USER_THAT_WILL_ACTIVATE_ANALYTIC_OBJECT>;
    3. Make sure all the dependencies of the Analytic
    Object to be activated is contained in the Analytic Privilege assigned to the
    user that will actually activate the Main Analytic Object.
    First option is known to everyone.
    I am stuck with the second option. Can I know the user that Activate analytical object.

  • Routing issue with ASA and UC540 phone system - at ASA???

    Having an issue with routing from the PC at .242 to the CUE server at 10.1.10.1. The CUE server is built into the UC540 phone system. It is an internal piece of software that is used for voicemail and management. The UC540 is not only a call router, it is also an IOS router. It has it's own WAN connection as does the ASA.
    Here are some facts:
    1. Can ping the UC540's internal CUE server from the PC ( ping to 10.1.10.1 )
    2. Can ping the UC540's VLAN 1 address from the PC ( ping to 10.1.10.1 )
    3. The ASA is the default gateway for the PC.
    4. I have a route inserted at the asa that is:
                   route 10.1.10.1 255.255.255.0 10.19.250.254 1
    5. I have a nat statement that prevents NAT from occuring but I don't think this is necessary as the 10.1.10.0/24 network isn't otherwise defined on the      ASA.
    6. I cannot pull up a web page when I point the browser on the PC to the 10.1.10.1 address
    7. I CAN pull up a web page on the PC when I create a static route on the PC iteslf :
                   route add 10.1.10.1 mask 255.255.255.0 10.19.250.254
         Is is only with this route that I am able to get to the web GUI on the phone system.
    8. The phone system has a loopback interface at 10.1.10.2 that serves as the gateway for the internal CUE server, the internal CUE server is at      10.1.10.1
    9. The switch is a 2960 and has a trunk port to the phone system to allow for the voice vlan which is at 10.1.1.0/24, no issues with this vlan and phones      are connecting to the system fine.
    Since I can get the GUI to come up when I set a static route on the PC, then I would assume that the routing in the phone system with it's internal server is fine as it wouldn't work otherwise. Since I can successfully ping the CUE server from the PC, that would lead me to believe that the ASA's routing is setup correctly..... TCP traffic doesn't seem to get to/from the CUE server.
    Here are the routing tables:
    ASA:
    Gateway of last resort is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx to network 0.0.0.0
    C    xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 255.255.255.252 is directly connected, outside

    Any help appreciated!!!
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    Where you able to solve this problem? It does sound like an issue with TCP state checking on the ASA. The Firewall needs to see both sides of the traffic but the return traffic is going from your UC540 direct to the PC. The firewall essentially kills the traffic.
    I would recommend disabling TCP state checking on the ASA and see if it works. Otherwise, you will need to stub route the UC540 as a separate VLAN off the ASA which needs to route through the ASA to reach the PC.
    Here is a info page on the TCP State Bypass:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/asa-5500-x-series-next-generation-firewalls/111986-asa-tcp-bypass-00.html
    Please let me know how it works out.

  • Issues with charsets from NUC ERP system to UC BI System

    Hi guys
    We are actually in the process of Upgrading and Unicode Migration for BI and ERP Landscape
    BI Landscape is the first stage so we are facing an issue with char sets
    ERP system generates a plain txt file which is later pick up  by BI system to run a chain process.
    This plain txt file, contains Spanish Special chars which are causing the issues.
    I have found a note which converts file at OS level from one code page to another code page
    Is there another more transparent solution, like forcing NUC ERP System to generate the plain file in a format which can be read by UC BI System

  • Issue with OBJECTS

    Hi All,
    I need a help in solving the type object issue..
    I have a package where im calling a function (with parameters id and lang_code).. im initializing the object with id and lang_code and then calling that object(where it does all the calculations and returns back the sting to the package) . Now how can i retrieve the lang_code in the object type..
    Here is the ex .
    Create or replace package abc(...)
    as
    function xyz(id number,lang_code varchar2(20) return varchar2
    is
    CurrentId number;
    ReturnString varchar2(32000);
    CurrentDocument OBJECT1;
    begin
    select Id
    into CurrentId
    from table1
    where E_Id = EID and rownum < 2;
    CurrentDocument := OBJECT1.init(CurrentId,lang_code);
    Here is the Object details
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE BODY OBJECT1 AS
    STATIC FUNCTION init(Id NUMBER,lang_code varchar2) RETURN OBJECT1
    MEMBER PROCEDURE GetObjectAttributes IS
    CurrentDocument OBJECT1;
    Here is need to retrieve the lang_code which i initialized in the package... Please help me how i can get this...
    Thanks in advance..
    --

    One can define attributes within object and then initialise the object with whatever values against each attribute:
    function xyz(id number,lang_code varchar2) return Object1 is
        CurrentId number;
        ReturnString varchar2(32000);
        CurrentDocument OBJECT1 (xyz.id, xyz.lang_code);
        begin
          select Id
          into CurrentId
          from table1
          where E_Id = EID and rownum < 2;
          CurrentDocument := OBJECT1.init(CurrentId, lang_code);
          return CurrentDocument;
    end xyz;
    Here is the Object details
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE BODY OBJECT1 AS
    (id number
    ,Lang_Code varchar2(20)
    ,STATIC FUNCTION init(Id NUMBER,lang_code varchar2) RETURN OBJECT1
    /You can define a function so as to return your defined object type, so you'll have the calculations done as well as the Lanugage code and id.

  • Issue with Export of 4.6D System

    Hi guys,
    I am trying to run an export on 4.6D using Oracle 9.2, but unfortunately I get the following message in my INSTGUI..
    Would anyone have any ideas on how to solve this issue?
    I've read that we need to check if the users have permissions or are locked, but how would one do that, and which users must I look at?
    Thanks!

  • Issues with labview on TestStand deployment system (wont run without a labview License)

    I am trying to deploy a system using testStand to a deployment machine for the 1st time. I have built my installer and image files etc.The files install successfully on the target machine however when I try and run my program in TestStand operator mode I have getting errors relating to Labview. The only way I can get around these error is to activate a Labview License on the deployment machine, this is not viable.
    The error I see when I disable my Labview License simply states an error occurred accessing the Labview ActiveX automation server.
    I have included the run time engines etc in my installer. As this is my first build is there something obvious I have missed here??
    Thanks for any input.

    Vinny,
    my first guess is that the setting for the LV adapter on the deployment machine is still configured for "LabVIEW Development Environment". You have to change this to "Runtime Engine".
    hope this helps,

  • Weird snapping issues with objects in Ai CS5...

    For some reason, when I want to adjust a vectored object (expanded as well), is will only snaop to certain places.
    • Smart Guides is not engaged.
    • NONE of the perspective grid is activated.
    • NONE of the snap-to's are activated.

  • Are there any issues with changing IP address of an ACS v5.3 system after initial setup?

    I am migrating from ACS v4.2.1 to v5.3.  I want the final v5.3 system to assume the IP address of the original 4.2 machine so I don't have to change any configs on the network devices.
    Are there any issues with changing the v5.3 system IP address AFTER the initial setup?

    I tried it without a problem. I changed the ip address of the WLC many times.
    You have to make sure though that:
    1-) You change the switchport accordingly to the appropriate vlan if the new ip belongs to a subnet of a different vlan.
    2-) Make sure that all AAA clients configured to use the new IP address of the ACS servers.
    Here is the procedure how to change the ip of the interface (as per cisco doc):
    http://goo.gl/0BYqVT
    I changed also by normal ip address command and it works. but of course the server must be standalone before doing that step (i.e. no secondary ACSs registered to it and it is not registered to other ACSs in a distributoin).
