It's the final count down.

When I think about the times I ever complained about AT&T's spotty service, it makes me want to go back in time and tell 2012 me that Anna Kenrick is going to sing a song and the line "you're gonna miss me when I'm gone" is going to haunt me as I remember the days when that spotty AT&T service was my only cell phone related dilemma.
Where do I start? I signed up for Verizon thinking wow, I can have service anywhere and I don't have to use a SIM card anymore. Neat! I foolishly believed my life was going to become easier.
Two days after I signed up for Verizon, I started receiving these weird calls. About 6 or 7 times, daily, I got all sorts of numbers calling me. I usually don't answer unknown numbers. But after 3 days, straight, of my phone ringing off the hook, I started answering these calls. About 4 billing agencies, 2 doctor's offices and a lawyer. All for the same woman. My favorite phone calls were the ones from an automated service that didn't ask me whether I was or was not this woman, it was simply just a machine that called to let me know they were trying to reach her. No contact number, no connecting customer service to say "hello, i am not _____." I called all these numbers back and told them I wasn't this woman, and I still received phone calls for her, daily, at least 3 times a day. Now, from what I've learned from friends who work for phone companies, there is a general rule that companies wait so long before releasing a phone number back into circulation, so things like this do not happen. It's kind of hard for me to believe there was any thing like that with this number because would these 6 places honestly be calling a disconnected number for an entire year (or however many years is policy for that company)? So I finally decided to call Verizon and ask what could be done because at this point I was being harassed by all of these daily phone calls. I was told the only way to fix this was to change my number. Annoying, but fine. So I agreed until I was informed that I would have to pay a $100 fee. I was taken aback and asked, "so, even though I have no control over the fact Verizon dispensed me a phone number that had obviously not been taken out of circulation long enough, and now i'm being harassed by all these calls daily, the only 'help' I can receive is by paying a fine and going through the annoying task that is getting a new phone number?" I angrily declined. I still receive phone calls for that woman to this day (one year later), although thankfully it is only about once a month now.
I'm a secondary line on my sister's account. I had no issues paying my half of the bill the first few months. Then something changed. It seems that every single month I have some type of issue with paying the bill. I use more or less the same usernames and passwords for most sites. And I have a notebook in my apartment with usernames and passwords. I write them down every time I make an account for anything. So why is it that one day when I try to log into my verizon account, my username isn't correct? Okay, please e-mail me my username verizon. I go back to the log in page, "correct" username, and now my password is wrong. Really? My password that I use for two other sites, that is written in my notebook, that I haven't changed since I made the account, isn't working? That's strange. E-mail me my password please, verizon. Wow, now somehow both my username AND password are incorrect! How crazy this world is. So I had to ask my sister if I could pay my half of the bill using her account (yes, on her account right now, because my password and username are both still somehow incorrect), which was working fine. But yes, you guessed it, only for about 3 months.
Like today I had a lot of fun trying to pay my half of the bill. I called, logged in through my sister's account since I can't log onto mine, and made the annoying quest through the automated service until I finally reached the payment options. I entered my debit card number, and waited. It repeated it back to me, but oops, I accidentally typed five 0's instead of four. So I re-entered it. Oh god, silly me, I did it again... Wow, a third time, Lindsey? You really need to work on your button punching skills. After the fourth time of it repeating back five 0's to me, I thought, "Hm, this obviously is a glitch. I'll just call back." So, my second annoying quest back to the payment options, two more times. TWO. MORE. TIMES. it repeated five 0's back to me. At this point, I angrily punched about thirty 0's into my phone to be connected to customer service.
I'm connected, and the woman informs me that I'm not on the account. Really? That's weird, considering I'm calling from my phone, which has an account, and I know all of the information for my AND my sister's account. She told me she had to call my sister in order for me to make a payment, even though I was trying to make the payment on my own personal verizon account (which I used to be able to do, even though I am the secondary line). So two minutes pass and the lady reconnects to me. She asks for a second time what I want to do. "Yes, I just would like to pay my half of the bill, but it will be on a separate debit card, not the one that is saved already." "Okay, let me connect you to the automated payment service." I can promise on my cat's grave that I have never lost my temper with any customer service, no matter how angry I have felt. But today was a day for change. I literally shouted "no" about ten times before telling her that I was calling BECAUSE the automated service wasn't working correctly (which I informed her of the instant I was connected). At this point the woman became obviously annoyed that I was angry and told me she would connect me to financial services. In which I was finally able to pay my bill.
That ^^^ is essentially what I deal with every single month. Every month it's like I have to fight to pay for a bill for something I don't even want anymore. I am counting the cursed days left on this contract because you better believe as soon as it's up, I am breaking up with you, Verizon, and throwing a ******* party in celebration of my freedom.

I have never read so much information. There is no charge to change your cell number. However only the account holder can log in to My Verizon Web Portal http://www.verizonwireless.com and click on her second line (your phone should be shown)
I cannot fathom unless your sister gave you account access the ability to pay each line separately.
Just pay your sister and have her pay the complete invoice when due. Problem solved.
You could also to an assumption of liability on that second line on your sisters account. Call *611 or 1-800-922-0204 and make sure your sister is right there with you to do this. Then the line comes off her account and you can then set up your own account with verizon.
You can also switch to T-Mobile now and they will pay off that early termination fee and give credit for your old verizon device, but you have to buy a new phone over time payments from T-Mobile. Please note a hard credit check will be done by verizon if you break off of your sisters account for one of your own, and T-Mobile also does a hard credit check before they provide service. http://www.T-Mobile.com
Good Luck

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

  • 10.5.8 won't shut down after bad SD disk removal.  It stops all applications but won't get past the final shut down screen.

I had a disk error with a SD disk from my camera.  Removed the disk from the card reader and got the Disk Removal Error alert.  Then the whole thing froze up on me.  Noting else would eject, No other apps would shut down and basically nothing worked.  I couldn't shut down so I removed the battery.  Restarted the computer ok then tried to repair the SD disk in question.  No luck on the repair so ejected it again.  Then tried to restart OS and it won't shut down again except everything still works but it just won't shut down.

Some hard drives shut off with shutdown, some don't. Sometimes hard drives that did shut off with one system will not do the same with a different system. My hard drives which did shut off, prior to 10.5 now stay on.
This is not really a problem as all hard drives spin down after 10- 20 minutes when not in use, whether your computer is on or off. Leaving the drive on is fine, shutting it off manually is fine.

  • Bootloader pauses before counting down on UEFI motherboard

    Hi,
I recently installed Arch Linux on my new computer and, strangely, the computer freezes for a moment before the bootloader counts down. I'm surprised by this because before installing Arch, Windows 8 would launch within a couple of seconds (I have a SSD disk).
    Here's the output of systemd-analyze:
    Startup finished in 3.076s (firmware) + 11.176s (loader) + 1.477s (kernel) + 15.204s (userspace) = 30.935s
(note that the bootloader's timeout is 5 seconds, so the loader freezed more than 6 seconds.)
I've had the same issue with Gummiboot and GRUB. I'm not familiar yet with debugging/analyzing tools, could someone help me to dig into this bug?
    Thanks!
Edit: maybe a useful info: my computer is a Toshiba Satellite Z30t

  • How do you add old movie count downs to Final Cut Pro X ?

I am trying to make a video from the films that i recorded while skiing, and i was wondering how i would add an old movie count down into Final Cut Pro X, becasue i cant seem to find anywhere that does it.

  • After what seems to be a normal upgrade to the new Lion OS. My computer counted down to restart and left a white screen with only a file folder in the center of the screen with a ? in it. How do I get my screen back to normal? Jim L.

After what seems to be a normal upgrade to the new Mountain Lion OS X on my early 2008, 24" iMac. My iMac counted down to restart but did not turn all the way off. At the end of the count down the screen went white with a small file folder flashing on and off in the center of the screen. Also there is a ?, question mark in the miaale of the file folder. The screen responds to no keyboard or mouse commands. Request help.

My computer was doing the same as yours hinikuru but now there is a change. I turned my iMac off by the button on the back and left it off for about an hour. When I just turned it on the center Apple logo was back and soon the  loading logo for the new Mountain Lion program came up. On the bottom of the logo there is a horizontal sliding bar that says the program will take 34 minutes to load. Time will tell. I have two iMacs and if this goes we'll I will install the new Mountain  Lion tomorrow. Hinikuru, I was about to follow the information in one of the side bar blocks titled "More like this" on the right side of this screen when my iMac seemed to fix itself! Good luck. I think not all is lost.

  • Down Payment settlement Line is not appearing in the final Billing

    Hello All,
Activated the Milestone billing plan. Created a Sales order > Down payment Billing document > and cleared the Down payment billing document.
While trying to bill the final invoice the down payment settlement line is not appearing.
Please suggest us what would be the probable reason for this to resolve the issue.
Checked in detail and found in the table BSID the field sales document ( VBEL2) is populated with blank and not with the sales order number.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Madhan.

    Hi
When you create a final invoice the downpayment clearing line is retrieved using function
module SD_DOWNPAYMENT_READ. The function module will not be able to find the
downpayment if the VBEL2 and POSN2 fields are not filled.
If the downpayment is posted and cleared correctly in F-29 (this is the only way) these
fields will be filled and the document should be retrieved and the value transferred to the
    AZWR condition.
    Run VF01 with a breakpoint in SD_DOWNPAYMENT_READ
go to the end of the function module you will see the structure t_sdaccdpc
This is filled with all valid entries for clearing. I suspect in your case it is missing.
Try posting a new example in using F-29 make sure it shows cleared in the
document flow then check at this point above in the final invoice
    Hope this helps you further
    Kind regards
    Brian

  • How to get film count down effect in Final Cut Pro?

I have seen movies that start with like the old nostalgic 3, 2, 1, with a circle around the numbers as it counts down to the start of the movie or other film starting counts that I would love to put to the beginning of some movies.
    Where can I find them?

It's an extra on the FCP disk. Go to Extras/Head Leaders for Cinema Tools/Leader Project.
Open the project and copy the leader from the appropriate timebase to put in your sequence.
However, if you are looking for old "film" leader, then do a google search for Academy Leader. Lots of companies like Digital Juice will sell the film leader.

  • I rented a Movie and it has been loading for 3 hours now. Internet connection is fine. Have never had a problem with this before. What's really annoying is that the 24 hour time limit is counting down even though we cant watch it. Any suggestion"hours now

I rented a Movie and it has been loading for 3 hours now. Internet connection is fine. Have never had a problem with this before. What's really annoying is that the 24 hour time limit is counting down even though we cant watch it. Any suggestions?

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.
Additionally, your 24 hours don't start until you begin to watch the movie, you have 30 days to start watching the movie.

  • When watching an item ending in ebay/firefox, the time remaining doesn't count down.

When watching an item ending in ebay/firefox, the time remaining doesn't count down. However I'm sure it used too.

    Just an update...
I took my computer into the Apple Store and they gave me a new battery (again).  I also erased my hard drive and reinstalled Lion.  I am still having the same problem with my battery icon not counting down (when i have the power cord unplugged).  Another thing I may have not talked about is when I unplug my power adapter from my MacBook the screen used to dim slightly,  It no longer does that. Hmm.  And yes I have checked the power settings.
I am seeing a big difference in my new battery though.  The 6 month old battery I was using before my replacement wasn't lasting but maybe and hour before completely turning off my laptop.  SInce I got my replacement battery I am back to a regular battery life.  Maybe a couple issues going on here...
As a fix, I purchased Battery Guard from the app store and placed the icon on my tool bar.  It actually counts down my battery life as a percentage.  So its a huge help.  I just don't know why the native Mac icon isn't working properly??  One thing I have noticed is the 3rd party app will only count down using a Percentage.  But, like the native Mac icon it will not count down using time.  Something else to add...  After using my battery, and I plug my MacBook back in, the battery icon will count up.  Kinda strange that it will count up but not down.
Dstppy, any luck at the Apple Store?

  • I ignored a message saying I was the millionth visitor. Was this wise? The message gave a long code, two telephone numbers (one in Paris) and a count-down time limit. It was this that made me suspicious.

A few days ago I received a message saying I was the millionth visitor and had won a prize which included money and a disneyland visit. I was given a long code, two telephone numbers (one in Paris) and a timed count-down of a few seconds (when I picked up the message). This made me suspicious and I ignored the whole thing. Was this wise?

Yes, ignoring a message like that was wise.
Maybe you are interested in a deal on real estate in southern Florida, like about halfway between Naples and Fort Lauderdale just south of I-75?

  • Where is the counter down?

    Hi,
I'm working on Finalcut Express 2. how can get the counterdown. i just need to set the 5 sec counter before my movie.
    Thanks

Just use print to video and put it on tape. Then capture the tape back into the computer. You don't like the Final Cut logo? Just put a circular mask around the clock. Add in your own advertising. Want some other countdown? Try google. There are a lot of them online.
