Its almost 2012 and no OS X 10.7 in-browser support
Hello all,
According to the Advisory "Adobe Safari 5.1 and Adobe Reader/Acrobat Advisory", a better solution to this whole Safari 5.1 fiasco is to be expected by the end of this year but nothing seems to be in the horizon yet.
Its been almost 6 months since Apple released Safari 5.1 and OS X 10.7 (not counting Beta releases which would add an extra 2 months on top of that). It is apparent that Adobe is really not paying much attention or care to a critical issue affecting its OS X users.
We rely on the Adobe PDF plugin so our users can access our LiveCycle server (which we invested heavily in) and you can imagine how embarrising it is to explain to managment that the majority of our users currently on OS X 10.7 basically can't have access to LiveCycle because of the Adobe PDF plug-in.
Our LiveCycle server is basically setting idle right now, not being used by most, and our staff reverted back to paper-based workflows. Its only a matter of time before people in my organization start looking for alternative solutions and label LiveCycle as a "mistake that should not have happened".
Please excuse my rant but I am losing hope in Adobe and its support for the OS X platform.
Adobe, if you read this. Please update us on the situation preferably with some ETA other than "the end of the year".

We have been having the same issue with embedded pdfs in Safari 5.1 and Firefox 6. Our primary area of concern is with viewing ADP pay statements for our employees. I've been pointed to the same Adobe document listed by ardev100 saying that Adobe expects a better workaround before the end of 2011. Is there a better workaround? Thanks!

Hi,
I just bought a new Macbook Pro 15" with SSD 256 Gb and its almost a brand-new (the 4th time to use the device) a while ago i was trying to connect to my home wireless network it said that the connection is timed out so i clicked the airport sign on the top it said that your airport is not configured then I restarted the system but it didn't restarted it showed the grey screen with the apple logo and the spinning wheel for more than 10min so I tried the force shutdown by pressing the power button till it switched off I waited for 5min then pressed the power button to start or boot the system and again the grey screen with the apple logo and the spinning wheel, I waited for more than 20min nothing changed, any solution please?
Your help is really appreciated"Thanks a lot i followed the instructions for safe mode (i found out that i was pressing the C button after restarting) i did whats written there but the repair couldn't be performed so in addition i needed to re-formate the HD so i erased the volume and then repaired the disk--> quite disk utilities --> start the installation from the installation DVD.

Can we assign 2 IPs for a SCCM 2012 primary site server and use 1 Ip for communicating with its 2 DPs and 2nd one for communicating with its upper hierarchy CAS . ?
Scenario: We are building 1 SCCM 2012 primary site and 2 DPs in one domain . In future this will attach to a CAS server which is in different domain. Can we assign 2 IPs in Primary site server , one IP will use to communicate with its 2 DPs and second

Rajesh VasudevanFirst, it's not possible. You cannot attach a primary site to an existing CAS.
Primary sites in 2012 are *not* the same as primary sites in 2007 and a CAS is 2012 is completely different from a central primary site in 2007.
CASes cannot manage clients. Also, primary sites are *not* used for delegation in 2012. As Torsten points out, multiple primary sites are used for scale-out (in terms of client count) only. Placing primary sites for different organizational units provides
no functional differences but does add complexity, latency, and additional failure points.
Thus, as the others have pointed out, your premise for doing this is completely incorrect. What are your actual business goals?
As for the IP Addressing, that depends upon your networking infrastructure. There is no way to configure ConfigMgr to use different interfaces for different types of traffic. You could potentially manipulate the routing tables in Windows but that's asking
for trouble IMO.

You need to take your MacBook Pro to your Apple store genius bar and check that they will do the upgrade for you...price for 4 GB memory used to be $200 but you will have to check with them for the current cost.
You can also check with OWC, http://www.macsales.com and see what their cost is and decide if you want to do it yourself. Cost will be about half of that at the Apple store. -
I updated my 4s, and now the text messaging is so slow its almost unusable (type then wait 20 seconds or more to see characters on the screen). Help Please!
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

If the screen is blurry, there might be something wrong with the iPad hardware. That shouldn't happen if the iPad is only one month old. You can try rebooting one more time and see if that corrects it. If it doesn't - and if you have an Apple Store nearby in the Phillipines - you might want to take it to the store and let an Apple Genius look at it.

You are not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user technical support forum. If you are having warranty issues with the phone, a copy of the bill is not necessary for Apple to check and evaluate the phone. If there is a manufacturer defect, they will deal with it.
What is "not working properly" on the phone. Maybe someone can help and it not be necessasry to be replaced. -
I got my ipod touch (4th generation) on March 20, 2012, and it fell out of my pocket when I jumped. Unfortunantly, the screen cracked very badly, and it has become a hazard, not only for the many cuts I have gotton on my fingers from the ipod screen's broken glass, but for what I type (because the screen is cracked so badly, I cannot see what I am doing). The ipod has become pointless to own in its condition. I would like to know how much the repair would be, where the best place to get it done is located, and how much future insurance would cost in the United States. Thank you for you time.

Icloud storage full. Can I delete my iPhone icloud backup with keeping my iCloud data unharmed (since my iPad has iCloud storage turned on, and I wouldn't be turning iCloud off on my iPad). BTW, I use iTunes for music and photo albums; iCloud for contacts, notes, etc. Then turn iCloud back up back on on iphone to see if I had a problem file and the storage changes?
ICloud storage full. I deleted messages, moved the camera roll to my PC, deleted Safari bookmarks, turned off almost every app in Managing iCloud storage. I turned off the backup, restarted iCloud backup and did a manual backup yet my storage gets larger yet.
Makes no sense. I have a iPhone and iPad. It's the iPhone showing this large iCloud storage 3.6 GB (when the iPad has more apps and only 716MB).ANSWER to my Question above: YES.
I took a chance, as I could find NO information regarding my question, and DELETED MY ICLOUD BACKUP (not my ICLOUD account). I then turned ON my ICLOUD BACKUP and whew! It plummeted from 4.8 GB full out of 5 GB TO: 1.2 GB full out of 5 GB.
I even turned on more settings to back up and it still shows 1.2 GB full in ICLOUD, 3.8 available. No more emails to say I am running out of ICLOUD space.
[For what its worth if others are getting messages their ICLOUD is almost full, and you don't have all that much on ICLOUD. Then when you even delete apps, messages, camera roll, turn off almost ALL icloud back ups and features the ICLOUD backup grows even larger. My ICLOUD kept increasing in size while I was decreasing my ICLOUD storage in Managing storage.]

SHOW COUNT equivalent in sccm 2012 AND right click tool to add PCs to COLLECTION
In sms 2003 there was a right click tool that allowed you to get the count of the collection in question. It generated total number or resources, total number of clients and total number of non-onsolete clients in the collection. I know there
is a way to at least get the clients in the specific collection vs. total resources for 2012 collections, but I'll be darned if I can find it. I found it once months ago and it seemed that it was in a report, but it has been several months and I can't
find it. Can someone please help me? I heard there was a right click tool, but I have tried 3 different versions of right click tools for 2012 and they are hit and miss at best and none of them included this feature.
Additionally, I would like to find out if there is a way to add a list of miscellaneous pcs to a collection in one fell swoop. I have a tool in 2003 that allows me to do that (sms tools/add pcs to this collection), but I can't find one in 2012 that
works correctly. I have done the add resource option, but if the machines are spread far and wide within all systems, for instance, then that makes it take almost as long as adding individually with a direct rule. Thanks for any help you can provide
on these two issues.I just wanted to let you know that Rick Houchins' right click tools do have a utility that lets you add devices to a collection successfully (so it's basically a hodge podge here with right click tools, some work better in some utility collections and some
work better in others, but you have to choose one set of right click tool utilities unless you have the admin console installed on multiple machines, not an elegant solution, but . . .).
I still really need to figure a way to get the SHOW COUNT functionality back, though. If anyone has any information on how to compensate for that I would really appreciate it. I had found a workaround prior to SP1, but can't seem to get it to

I created a sync account in June 2012 and synced it periodically. In early January 2014, I was having some pc issues so I backed up all my data on my pc and dropped it off to Best Buy/Geek Squads. My pc has been repaired and returned back to me today. However, it has been reset to factory settings, which meant I had to reinstall Firefox. Of course I no longer had my original recovery key so I had to choose the "no longer have my device" option so that I could recover the recovery key code. So now I am trying to pull in my synced data from the synced Firefox account and I see nothing. I know I am not doing something right. I am not trying to sync on a second device- it is technically the same device. I am just trying to pull in what was previously synced. I feel like a lot of the other forums are for pairing. It's almost as if once I logged into my Firefox account today and recovered the code- like there is a new account. I need to access my bookmarks- they are very important. Thanks!
Does your backup contain your entire old Firefox profile folder? This is a hidden folder under
C:\Users\''username''\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
To ensure that you can view the full contents of your backup, you may need to turn on viewing of hidden files. This article has the steps: [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files].
If you find the folder, one option would be to set it up as a second profile on your new installation of Firefox to access the old information. That's probably easier than fishing around among the files if it works. -
Error in South Africa Regional Settings in Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8
Please note that the format for numbers in South Africa regional settings is incorrect. I discovered this through on of our products that would not work on Server 2012, but works from XP to Windows 7.
Where the decimal was always a point it has now been changed to a comma, which is incorrect and most likely will cause a lot of issues for customers in south africa that use decimal data.
I can already see spatial data breaking where decimals are used and stored with points and not commas.
To reproduce this error set your regional settings to South Africa and execute the following code in C#
System.Convert.ToDouble("10.1234");
This will throw a FormatException. Change regional settings from a , to a . and there we go it works.It seems that this is development related issue, please try to submit a new post in DEV forum. Thanks.

Respectfully Mr. Xia, it looks like the OP is reporting a localization issue, not a development issue.
For the OP, there's a
well researched post by a South African developer describing that the decimal comma is the correct choice. The work cites University style guides, International conference agreements, and government legislation and regulation.
An excerpt from Mr. MacLean's post, quoting work from EEPublishers:
English-speaking countries (plus China, India and Japan) use the decimal point. There seems to be a general tendency to formally declare its use worldwide and the International Organisation for Standardization, ISO, also tends towards using the decimal point
over the decimal comma. In view
of the South African law, however, the comma shall still be employed in South Africa as “the only recognised decimal indicator for all numbers” [3].
