Itunes 10.4.1 getting song names

hi i have itunes 10.4.1 running lion
i select all the songs and get track names and then itunes crahes
can anyone please help me

I have this problem in iTunes 10.7 (21). The "Go to Current Song" option exists in the Controls menu, but even when audio is playing it is disabled.

When I attempt to import some regular, commercial CD's, iTunes returns the message "The song names for this CD could not be found online. Do you still want to import the songs?" This has happened for four CD's in a row now. Today, after importing some other CD's in the regular way, all of a sudden, iTunes won't recognize the Eagles - "Hotel California" CD, the Eagles "**** Freezes Over" CD, "The Best of Roy Orbison" or "Milestones" by Miles Davis.
What happened? Anybody know?

We've gotten the same error at the same time. I guess we need to let this play out. In the meantime, I'm gonna update iTunes.

I suspect that the encoding of the Korean in the stream is not Unicode, which is what iTunes requires. iTunes cannot fix such things by itself.

ITunes Not Seeing Album or Song Names

My sofware will not recognize the album or song names when I try to download to my IPOD. I'm getting the following error code when I ask for the track ID...is it related? If not does anyone know who to fix problem? I have already downloaded the software again.

As the title says: the iTunes Music library does not the track/song name category.
I realized this after clicking "Auto Size All Columns" after a fresh install of iTunes. The track/song name disappears from the current view, and isn't an option when right-clicking the categories.

Itunes cut off ends of songs names

My songs names are cutted by itunes, a tried to convert with the ID3 converter but nothing has changed...

Dude, I first noticed the problem on iTunes a while back. I've been growing my mp3 collection since 1999 and its about 80gigs now so you can imagine how ****** off I was when iTunes cut all the song titles that were long. I have songs that are now named like this: Michael Jackson & The Jackson Five -
Chris CA you are totally missing the point here. iTunes didn't warn Neesh and I that it was going to completely f*%k our song names up. The first time I installed and ran iTunes it also took my 60 gigs of music and sorted it into folders, most of which were named "Unknown Album". It also copied the music into the iTunes Music folder so that there it took up twice as much hard drive space.
Anyway Neesh, I tried Media Monkey but that was worse. Now I have a bunch of files that are .mediamonkey files. What the **** is that?
So far, the best mp3 player was the original WinAmp. Its since been messed up so we're all stuck with iTunes. I wouldn't be surprised if one day it deletes all my mp3's that weren't purchased from the itunes store. So now I am backing up all my music.

i recently deleted itunes on accident and had to reinstall again. Now i have get all 600 songs i downloaded all over again. my songs werent purchased from itunes so i cant transfer purchases to library. is there a way to transfer my music into my library again so i dont have to go through the agony of obtaining all of them again? please please help

Also, you can single click on the song, wait a second or two, then single click on the inofrmation you want to change. It is like a delayed double click.

A Feature that would be Nice: Song Name Popup

I hear a song over and over again in iTunes and I still don't ever remember the name of it, and I would be too busy to switch to iTunes and look at the song name (and I don't want to do that every time). So I think that there should be an option to display one of those popup gray boxes that shows up in a corner that would display the song name, song artist, and album name.

Duplicate Song Names ...

I recently moved my iTunes folder to my D:\ drive in order to free up room on my C:\ drive. I then went into Preferences --> Advanced and changed to folder to point to the new location. No problem, right?
After doing this, my iTunes library now shows every song name twice. I've updated to the latest version and the problem hasn't gone away.
FYI ... I did 'move' the files and did not 'copy' them.
It's not preventing iTunes from functioning, but it is extremely annoying. Any ideas?

I want iTunes to Update my iPod song names automatically when I update my iTunes Library, do they have that??

Not sure what you are asking but if you make any changes to the songs in iTunes (names/genre etc), then those changes are updated to your iPod when next you connect it to iTunes.
Provided of course you have automatic sync selected for your iPod.

not sure what to add other than to repeat myself. ive lost ability to play music from my iTunes library on my computer. Everything is there but i get an error message that says '"The song (name) could not be found. Would you like to locate it? Then it gives me the option to locate or cancel. i can't do that for 3800 songs!! i have all my music in separate folders by album and all individual selections in an external hard drive. i can play from there but thats clicking on one number at a time. i lost my capability in the process of Microsoft correcting a problem with my outlook program. Why, i haven't a clue. help!!

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

I am going to restore my Macbook Pro to it's factory condition. In iTunes I have renamed a lot of my songs. Last time I cleaned off my mac and restored my music I had to rename all those songs again. How do I get itunes to remember all of those names?

I backup everything to an external drive and then I restore only what I want from my backup drive. In iTunes I have renamed a lot of my songs. Last time I cleaned off my mac and restored/reloaded my music I had to rename all those songs again. It took me about 2 weeks to reorganize my music. How do I get iTunes to remember all of those names and keep everything exactly the same when I restore/reload the music into iTunes?

Use Time Machine, backup everything, do the reinstall (I recommend you don't do it) then restore your user folder with Time Machine.

I was not complete clear.
Since you never changed the settings in the advanced section of iTunes preferecnes, you have to chech that your music is really in the location setted in the folders reported in the advanced section. If not you have 2 ways: reset the position of this folders or in the actual disk organisation or in the pointing on the preferences.
If you press the reset button you just give to itunes its default setting as for the position of the music files: probably this will be a good choice if you have never changed any default preference.
But before I would check the folders and see if the songs are really there
