ITunes 10.4 crashes everytime i start it on windows XP SP 3

Just upgraded to itune 10.4 but the it keeps crashing everytime I start it. Upgraded as the earlier version was not backing up stuff on my new ipad 2 and would hang often while syncing.
Is there a fix to get itunes 10.4 or should I uninstall and go back to 10.3?

i notice that you're running McAfee. if you run into an odd problem where you can't see the download controls (there's a blank blue box on the itunes download page, for example), try:

It sounds like iTunes is quitting unexpectedly upon launch on your MacBook. Try launching iTunes in Safe Mode and then removing third-party plug-ins, if the issue is resolved.

Utilities > Adobe application manager
Utilities > Adobe creative cloud folder
~/library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE
/library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE

Itunes keeps crashing everytime I start it up

Please help everytime I try to open my itunes it instantly crashes. I have tried restarting my computer and uninstalling then reinstalling it back in and it just keeps crashing. Please help!

I have had the same kind of problem - Itunes (ver 10.5.1.42) crashed on startup. I have had to restart Itunes several times before it would work - then it would be fine until closed and reopened - then the crash on startup would recur. I tried uninstalling ICloud. Maybe a coincidence, but Itunes doesn't crash for me on startup anymore.

The ITunes store crashes everytime i start it up

Everytime i want to open the ITunes store, it immediately crashes. It has been doing it ever since i have downgraded ITunes to ITunes 10, i know probably the eazyest option is up upgrade again to ITunes 11 but to be honest, i hate the new layout of ITunes 11 so that is why i downgraded to 10.
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Photoshop Elements 8 organizer crashes everytime I start it up

Hi,
I'm having a problem with the Photoshop Elements organizer (version 8) - every time I start it up it crashes right away. This has been happening since yesterday where I was uploading some photos to Smugmug via photoshop elements where it crashed for some reason, and now it is crashing everytime I open it. The editor, however, is working fine.
My pc is relatively new and I am running Windows 7.
Anyone got an idea about what is causing this issue and what I can try in order to fix it?

Try renaming the folder "Elements Organizer" and "Online Services". These folder are present at C:\Users\<current user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe. After renaming these folders, application should launch without crashing.

LOGIC CRASHES EVERYTIME I START

Hi! I want to test Logic using Logic Express Trial. After setting core audio driver (built in) it started to crash everytime i open the application. unfortunately I can't decipher any of the text that you've pasted, but I'd ask some questions: does this happen in all users? - if you only have 1 user, set up another one, keep it as clean as possible ie., don't install anything into that user Library and see if same thing happens. Do any other apps have similar problems? Have you run a diagnostic, or tried opening after a Safe Boot (see support article no. 106214)? Disconnected any uneeded peripherals. THe current Logic Ex version is 7.2.3, your demo appears to be 7.0.1 ...I don't know why it's not the latest but quite possibly not getting along with OS X 10.4.8. Do other Audio apps function well, like GarageBand?

Itunes win xp crash everytime it downloads

Every time I goto download a podcast or even from the ITUNES STORE it crashes with the WinXp blue screen of death!!! I have bought songs which I cannot download because of this stupid crash..
what could be causing this?

Are you upto date with all program updates for Norton 2005, I used to use it quite happily with iTunes 7, but it is pretty out of date now, they are now upto Norton 2008.
I am currently on Norton 2007, and I have found it less troublesome than 2005. You could try reinstalling your Norton to see if that helps.
If you feel like fiddling about, you could try briefly disabling Norton to see if that helps - if it does, it would nail Norton as the problem, it shouldn't be too dangerous if you access the internet via a router/firewall.
You could check your computer manufactuers download site to make sure you are uptodate with your various drives etc. It would be worth seeing if there is a BIOS update.
But you should contact Norton support to see if they have any information about this. I found them quite helpful over a different problem, although they didn't solve my problem and I had to devise my own work around.
They may recommend a complete removal using the the Norton removal tool and a reinstall if they can't persuade you to upgrade. As you probably know a simple uninstall of Norton does not remove everything.
When I used the Norton removal tool I had to do a repair install of iTunes to get it going again.
P.S. using the removal tool reset the clock on my subscription, a small bonus for the trouble.

ITunes crashes everytime I start it

Hi,
I just got an iPod nano and downloaded and installed iTunes. That went quite fine. However, whenever I try to start iTunes it crashes on me (with the standard WinXP crash dialogue box asking me whether to send the error report or not). I haven't been able to start iTunes at all.
Please help.

Additional information:
I tried to install some other utility that can replace iTunes (called vPod). This installed properly. However, when I tried to run the program, the same thing happened to vPod too, it crashed.
Obviously, its something wrong with my system, probably a bad .dll or something but I don't know how I can figure it out. Does anyone here have some detailed knowledge of iTunes internals?

ITunes 11.4 crashes immediately when started on Mac OS 10.6.

We have an old Macbook running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and started iTunes to move our Library to a new Macbook Air. iTunes suggested to upgrade, which we did. When starting iTunes it crashes immediately. Any suggestions?

I am having the exact same problem in my work environment. I have not yet found a solution to to the issue myself. At the moment with the workstations in my office I am going to have to install Acrobat 9 until the is an update provided... Which is going to be hard because Reader crashes becfore I even get a chance to check for updates.
I do agree that it could be a permissions issue because a user who is a local administrator to one of the workstations has been using it no problems... But as soon as a user without aministrator permissions gets on it crashes. Does seem like a bit of an amateur problem. Could an organisation like Adobe really make a mistake like this?

Firefox crashes everytime I start it and Trend Mirco Pops up with a Malicious URL

Every time I start firefox it hangs or locks up with Not Responding. I've tried it in safe mode but still have problems. Also just before the program hangs my Trend Micro window pops up and says that it blocked a threat. http://convertnews.ru/kernal/index.php. These problems only started a two weeks ago. I've run multiple virus scans and which don't come up with any problems. I can't get a crash ID because it never asks to report the crash. This problem is happening on ALL my computer, laptop, home computer, work computer. Everyone that uses Firefox. I've disabled the add-ons but still the problem persists. Usually it happens when I first start up Firefox for the first time of the day. Getting really tired of these problems.

Try renaming the folder "Elements Organizer" and "Online Services". These folder are present at C:\Users\<current user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe. After renaming these folders, application should launch without crashing.

ITunes 11.1.3 crashes when it starts on dell/windows 7 laptop

Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution?
Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 Debugger says this about the crash:
Unhandled exception at 0x088C0240 in iTunes.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation executing location 0x088C0240.
I have never had a previous version of iTunes crash on me like this before.

Yosemite does not allow a new installation of XP, but an existing XP installation is self-contained and will continue to work. Does your XP installation use a FAT partition? You may be better off using NTFS and then upgrading to Yosemite.

Itunes freezes my mbp everytime it starts

This problem just started happening for me a couple days ago. Every time I start itunes the pinwheel starts going and doesn't stop. Everything freezes. I can't do anything (force quit, switch spaces, launch a different application, etc) while the pinwheel is going. Even if i leave my computer alone for an hour it will still be going so im forced to do a manual shut down. This happens every time i start itunes regardless of what else I have running.
I've tried reinstalling itunes but that didn't help at all.
Anyone else have this issue. Any ideas on how to fix this? it's driving me crazy, I need my music!

I'm facing similar problem. It happened ever since i was prompted to update my safari 3.0 to safari 4 while accessing the itunes store. I have not been able run itunes, MSN messenger, quicktime player (including websites that uses quicktime webplayer). I have started a thread under the Safari for Mac category a week ago but i have not gotten any response yet. must be the crossmas.
