Itunes 10.5.1 update wouldn't work and now 10.5.2 dosn't either Im running windows 7 and have downloaded the 64 bit version and uninstalled itunes several times. iy comes up with something to do with 'windows 32' error message
Im still having problems een with the latest update 10.5.2 64 bit for windows 7 this is the message below. This is the same error messagege I get when trying to update from 10.5.1 I have uninstalled several times and nothing seems to cure it. Im really getting fed up with it as I have to use an older laptop with XP on it to transfer Itunes info
Try the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".

Letterbox downloads and installs and is enabled, but does not produce the 3 columns in the mail window. I had the same problem with 10.6.7 and now 10.6.8. The download is the latest version (0.24b9) and the forums indicated that it works with both osx versions. I have tried deleting the letterbox plug-in and then reinstalling, but still no luck with the 3 column mail page. Any ideas would be most welcome. Thanks
i just fixed this on my machine running 10.6.8. the typical workaround is to add appropriate UUIDs, which get updated with each new os build, and break plugins (see here). Follow those instructions, but instead of adding the UUIDs they suggest for 10.6.7, add these (I found them on my machine running 10.6.8, and they work):

for fixing on os x version 10.6.7, this may help (though letterbox 0.24b9 should work already).
i emailed the author (aaron harnly, harnly.net) about this, but haven't heard back (a few days). to be sure, i am quite grateful, as i think we all are, for his excellent plugin, and this workaround is quite simple for dealing with updates. -

I have downloaded the latest version of itunes but when i plug in my ipod it doesnt list any devices in itunes to enable me to choose my ipod to sync it. Its like there is a link missing or something blocking my computer talking to itunes. My computer itself recongnises the ipod but itunes doesn't. Please help!
Yes reinstalled itunes a couple of days ago but got it sorted now thanks, the problem was that when i wiped my computer last week and reinstalled everything using the discs the free McAfee anti virus that the computer came with was still in my all programmes list although i aren't using it. This morning i tried unistalling that (didn't think it would make any difference as the programme wasn't active) once uninstalled i pluged the ipod in and hey presto it is now recognised by itunes, THANK GOODNESS. So panick over for now, thank you very much.

cannon 8800F not working with OS X yosemite 10.10.1 . I have downloaded the latest drivers and firmware from Canon. I called Canon for support and went through all the checks , but, still my iMac did not see the scanner. Any new ideas?

I have downloaded the latest version of icloud control panel to a PC with Windows 7. My "master" data is always on my PC. With other synch software I always select "One Way Outlook to Device". I synched icloud with Outlook and it has trashed my Outlook with duplicate contacts. Is there a solution. Is there selective synchronisation available?
Make sure you don't have any notes that have no content or subject or this can prevent syncing with Outlook. If you do, delete them.
If you don't, try unchecking "Mail,Contacts,Calendars & Tasks with Outlook" on the iCloud control panel for Windows, choose Delete at the prompt (the data will still be in iCloud), restart your PC, then go back and check this setting again. (Your iCloud data will reappear in Outlook after a brief delay as it redownloads.)
Then create a new note on one of your iOS devices and see if it appears in the Notes folder in Outlook mail after a few minutes. -

Uninstalling or reinstalling the iTunes application won't affect your music (data) -- but it's always a good idea to have a backup!

Yesterday, since I downloaded the latest version 3.6.6, every time firefox opens and when I click on something, I get multiple error windows that say "ERROR: Security Manager Vetoed Action". Hope someone can help me with this one, have a new computer with windows 7 as the operating system, have installed elements 7 and have now purchased the 50d, as i shoot in raw have tried to open the file but elements is unable to read the raw file, have looked on various threads and have downloaded the new version of raw, this version is saved in my download file directory, have copied across these files to the elements folder but i still cannot read my raw file for the 50d, is there something i have missed.

be sure not to have the older version of camera raw plugin in the same folder as that of new one. dont even rename it. Remove it and store it in some other location in case you need to revert back the changes. The camera raw plugin is called : Camera Raw
