Itunes for XP 64 bit machines ?????

I have an XP 64 bit machine. I just bought an Ipod touch. I want to get Itunes of course but it seesm they onyl support 32 bit machines and 64 bit machines on Vista. I have tried both of these but they will not load. How can I get itunes for 64 bit XP?
Thanks

i also have xp 64 and an iTouch. apple has yet to release a version of iTunes that can be used on xp 64 however there are many ways around that, a great tutorial that has worked for me is here: http://yukichigai.googlepages.com/iphonex64
now that tutorial is supposed to make it so the iPhone / iTouch will work with iTunes on a xp 64 machine. so far i have managed to get everything to work as far as iTunes is concerned....however i still cant get it to recgonize my iTouch, it says i need to upgrade to version 8 and when i do, it still says i need to upgrade to version 8 even though it IS version 8.
so i would start with that tutorial and see if it gets you anywhere!
good luck

  • Error numbers are 2502 and 2503 for installing iTunes for Windows 64 bits. How to fix?

    Hey guys,
I cannot install iTunes (latest vision) on my new laptop (Windows 64 bits), and it says that the error numbers are 2502 and 2503...
Can someone tell me how to fix this?
    Thank you!

Check your system date & time is correct.
Run the System File Checker: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
If you still have problems try a creating a new user account with administrator rights, log into it, and attempt the install from there.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • ITunes for Windows 64-bit (oops, doesn't install under XPx64)

Just as the subject states, whenever I try to install iTunes 7.6 64-bit, it declares that I must have Windows Vista in order to install this. If it's not supposed to work for XP x64, then why post that on the download page? Hopefully if you were trying to be nice and provide us with an XPx64 copy, this trouble will be corrected sometime down the road?
    Thanks in advance.

The 64 bit version of iTunes will not install on my machine either. The setup program only checks for Vista 64 and if its not then it won't allow you to install. If there's no major difference in how iTunes works under XP and Vista then It seems like all it take is for the setup program to check for Windows XP x64 then allow iTunes to install.
P.S. I've installed the 32 bit version of iTunes on XP x64. It works but is not stable; It already crashed twice.

  • ITunes for XP 64-bit

Will there ever be a version of iTunes for XP64? Our entire company recently made the move to XP64 and iTunes was working for me but has stopped since the latest update.
I really hate to lose iTunes but our company is sticking with XP64 for the foreseeable future.
Please tell me Apple is working on it and there will be an XP64 version coming very soon!!!

There is no way any of us is ever going to be able to answer that question, however I can probably say that it is safe to assume that it just isn't going to happen. 64 bit support for iTunes was not even considered until Vista was out anyway and I really doubt that re-building the wheel for an OS that Microsoft is ending sales for is not something that is going to happen.

    Hi JNPhillips1,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Visit the main iTunes download page from your computer, and you should see the 32-bit download "iTunes 11.0.5 for Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7:"

  • Oracle EBSuite 12i - Are the apps available for Windows 64 bit machine?

    Hello,
Can anyone help please? I am looking for Oracle EBSuite V 12i on eDelivery site. But the only Apps available for download is for Windows 32bit systems. Does anyone know if it is available for 64bit systems, given that most systems one buys now are 64bit machines? Based on the answer, i will either have to buy a new 32bit machine (if it is available) or get the downloads for 64bit systems. Please kindly let me know.
    Many thanks, Deepak

    1) Does one need to be a technical guru to install Oracle EBS R 12i on Windows? No.
    2) Do you have any documentation which takes this step by step for the non technical person?Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for Microsoft Windows Server (32-bit) [ID 761567.1]
Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Installation Steps on Windows XP
Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Installation on Windows 2003
    3) I downloaded EBS zipped folders (approximately 30 to 40) from the eDelivery site. I will obviously have to unzip them and then run the exe files. My purpose in having R12i is purely for learning purposes, using the Visions database. Will I need to purchase any license for this, or after isntallation, I can start using the visions database? You can use it for the first 30 days for evaluation as mentioned in the e-Delivery website -- https://edelivery.oracle.com/
However, nothing would stop you from using the application after then -- The license is something ethical.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • It seems iTunes for Vista 64 bit isn't itself a 64 bit application

When I am on my 64 bit Vista box and I go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ site and it identified my system as "Vista (64-bit)" and I proceed with the download, and run the installer it provided it installed into c:\program files (x86)\ which is where it installs 32 bit programs. I also verified the file name to be the 64 bit one as identified in this article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301301.
If it is installing into x86 folder it is not a 64 bit application. It may be a special 32 bit application that works correctly on the 64 bit version of Vista but it is not 64 bit according to Vista. Most of what I have seen seems to be misleading and not be clear on this, it seems to be implying that it is a 64 bit version of iTunes when it is not. This may have been unintentional on Apple's part.

Yeah I am not disputing that it is doing what it is supposed to. I am just disputing that it is misleading. I think it should be very clear and state that this is a 32 bit version of iTunes specific for installing on 64 bit versions of Vista.

  • Syncing issues with windows 7 and iTunes on a 64 bit machine

When syncing iPhone to iTunes, windows closes iTunes when the first app starts to sync.
Music and all other syncs transfer without an issue.
Is there a computer protection setting that needs to be changed?
Does windows see the app as a virus?

    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch
