ITunes, iCloud, iPhone - Majority of music unavailable

Argh!
Okay, so my story goes like this. I've just received my new iPhone 4s, 64GB. I optd for a massive 4s over a teeny weeny 5.
I have a massive collection of CDs that i wanted to add to my new 64GB phone - i was very selective over my music with my old 4s due to size however with my new 64GB, i stupidly thought, i can load every CD onto my phone, Woo!
So yesterday i spent all day putting CD's in and out of my computer adding everything to iTunes and my library. I now have 3056 songs available on iTunes. So on completion i try to sync all of my music onto my iPhone - I knew this would take a while. So i went away and when i came back it looked like it had all finished. So i look in my music on my iPhone and immediately see that my favoutire band has 11 albums on my phone... strange because i know for a fact, coz they are my fav band, i have 15 albums and have recently downloaded one from iTunes. So I go to one of the albums and try to play a song... it starts skipping all tracks and ends up playing a song later on in the album!?!? WTef!?!?
So i go to another band, same happens. I go to a band i have downloaded from iTunes and who have not come from a CD and there is clouds with downward red arrows. With a different band, theres red circles with squares in the middle. WT- EFFFFF!?!?
I go to iTunes, some songs in my library have we a wee cloud next to them so i click on them (download from iCloud) - seems sensible to download all songs from iCloud to my library. I try sync-ing everything again... i have 2568 songs out of 3056 and the majority of them dont play.
What The ____!?
I am sick, just sick. I hate iOS7. I regret downloading it immediately.
Can anyone help me? Please, anyone? Some of my favourite songs will not play or download, FAVOURITE SONGS! I was enjoying them the other day!
WHAT IS GOING ON!?
If no-one is able to help... would anyone like want a shiny black iPhone 4s, 64GB, unlimited everything very cheap otherwise its taking flying lessons. I 100% regret renewing my contract for my phone...
Should of went to specsavers...
Then the Samsung or HTC store afterwards!

You have to sync the music via Mac iTunes.
1. Use Mac iTunes to import CDs.
2. Connect & select your iPhone in Mac iTunes Sidebar (switch on if you do not see the sidebar, iTunes menu > View > Show Sidebar)
3. Choose the Music tab on the right, make your music selection, click Apply/Sync button (bottom right).

  • ITunes thinks iPhone has more music than it really does, and won't sync

I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1, and am running iTunes 11.1.5 on Mavericks.
I was using iTunes Match on the iPhone, but I don't want to do so any more because I have acquired a lot of music that I can't upload to iTunes Match. (This is because my wife has her own iTunes Match account, and Apple won't allow two different iTunes Match accounts to be used simultaneously on the same computer, even under different user accounts. So because my wife uses her iTunes Match account under her user account on the same computer, I cannot activate my own iTunes Match account and upload my additional music.)
So I turned off iTunes Match on the phone. I then went into Settings - General - Usage - Music and deleted all the music on the phone.
The phone now shows as having no music on it at all, both in Settings and in the Music app itself.
I hooked the phone up to iTunes in order to sync a new load of music onto it. Under "Summary", the usage bar shows no music on the phone at all, and a total of 10.99 GB free. This is exactly as expected.
I have ticked "Sync only checked songs and video". In my iTunes library, only ten songs are checked. So I am attempting to put only ten songs onto the phone (for now).
I go over to the "Music" tab of the phone. I check "Sync Music". Suddenly a huge blue bar appears at the bottom, and it now says I'm over capacity by 975.8 MB. And yet at the top of the screen, next to "Sync Music", it also says "10 songs". So it knows I only want to put 10 songs on the phone, and yet it thinks that this is too much for the 10.99 GB free space on the phone.
Heading over to the "On This iPhone" tab of the phone, I see that all of the music that I previously deleted from the phone is showing up here, even though it's no longer on the phone. If I double-click on any of the items, they don't play, and an exclamation mark symbol appears next to them, indicating that the tracks aren't actually present. If I right-click on any of the items, the only options I have are to play them, get info, check the rating, or show in iTunes Store. There's no delete option.
It looks like, as long as I don't try to sync the iPhone, iTunes recognises that there's no music on it, and it's got over 10 GB of free space. But as soon as I try to sync it, iTunes thinks that the old, deleted music is still on it, and that I therefore have no space to put anything more on. So it refuses to sync any music to the phone, even though there's plenty of space for it.
I have tried ejecting the phone, restarting it, and remounting it. I have also tried signing out of my account on the phone and signing back in. It makes no difference. I don't know what else to do.
So I can't sync the iPhone. What's going wrong, and what can I do to make it work?

Same problem here. Mine is a iPhone 5s......

  • Itunes on iphone stopped downloading music

    Hello there,
I am facing an issue on my iphone3g. I bought an album on itunes and the internet connection gone down after downloading only 4 songs, now the other songs, not yet downloaded is checked as "waiting" and nothing happens.
Someone knows how to "refresh" the download?
Thanks a ton in advance guys,
    Thiago

"While downloading purchases, it’s okay to turn off iPhone or leave the area of your
Wi-Fi connection. iPhone starts the download again the next time iPhone joins a Wi-Fi
network with an Internet connection. Or, if you open iTunes on your computer, iTunes
completes the download to your iTunes library (if your computer is connected to the
    Internet). "

  • How to upload music files into iTunes, iCloud

How do I upload music & other files (like photos) into iTunes, iCloud & iphone 4S?  I restored my phone yesterday & had to upgrade to iTunes 11.0.2 from 10, as prompted by the system.  Pls help as I am a novice in iphones & family

You cannot upload music files from your iPhone, but you could sign up for iTunes Match and use it to match your existing music with iTunes so that you can download it right from your device. See more information for Apple's iTunes Match: https://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/

  • I am using the Good for Enterprise app to synch my outlook email and when I try to turn on ICloud to synch my music in ITunes I get a warning that I will not be able to synch my Iphone 4S with my computer.  Does this mean my office PC or home Mac?

I am using Good For Enterprise on my Iphone 4s to connect with my Office PC Outlook email system.  I am having trouble synching my Itunes music from my Mac at home with my IPhone 4s.  I am considering using ICloud to share the music as I also have an IPad2.  When I go to turn on the ICloud application, I get a message that alerts me to the fact I will no longer be able to synch with my computer.  Does that mean with my Office PC and my Outlook email, or my Mac and my home email and other applications?  I want to use the ICloud but don't want to screw up my Good for Enterprise application and connectivity with my Office PC and Outlook email.  What should I do to be able to update all my tunes and photos on my IPhone 4S and IPad2 from my Mac?

I seem to never tire of saying this. It was for Apple when they first announced 10.7 to disclose this. Yes, it was widely reported -- or rather, rumored -- but not by Apple. And many people who have gotten caught by this assumed that Apple itself would have told them beforehand about the loss of this very important feature which they had come to rely on. As far as I know, not even in fine print, does this appear anywhere on the Lion announcement or any of its links.
I am not saying Apple had to continue Rosetta in Lion, or forever, just that if it was going to be dropped, it should have been made known.
As relative "insiders" we should not forget that many people don't have the time, habit or interest to do this kind of research. I think it is a breach of trust that Apple has never directly made this announcement or given people the opportunity to decide beforehand if giving up their PPC apps for a new OS is a worthwhile tradeoff.

  • I only have 16 gb iphone but 64 gb ipad - how can i use extra storage on icloud for all my music on itunes

My Iphone 4 has only  16 GB storage (used 13,5 GB)  but my  ipad has 64 GB  -  I have bought ekstra 15 GB  storage on icloud but I can'nt seem to use it for all my downloaded/bought music .
how can i use the extra storage on icloud for all my music on itunes ?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't use iCloud storage for your music, take a look at these alternatives.
    iTunes Match
    iTunes in the Cloud

  • I have PURCHASED iTunes music on my iCloud account. The music appears on my iPhone. How do I get selected music from my iTunes on my iMac into the Cloud?

I have PURCHASED iTunes music on my iCloud account. The music appears on my iPhone. How do I get selected music from my iTunes on my iMac into the Cloud?

Sorry - not sure what you are asking. The Purchased music on your device is either on your device (i.e., downloaded to it), or it is not downloaded, in which case it is in iTunes in the Cloud. On your Mac, the same is true. Each device or machine may have different Purchases downloaded from iTunes in the Cloud.
What is it that you are wanting to do?
    Cheers,

  • Why does iTunes send music via iCloud to my ipad and iPhone, but not music videos

When I get music via itunes, icloud pushes them to my ios devices, but music videos do not.

Were the music videos purchased with a different Apple ID than the one you are using for iTunes Match?  If so, I don't believe they are eligible (same is true if the music video was not purchased from the iTunes Store).

  • I have an iphone 5 with iOS 6.  I just  tried to sync it with my itunes account to put new music on my phone and it gave me a message that said the iphone could not be synced b/c "the sync session had failed to start".  How do I fix this?

I have an iphone 5 with ios 6.1.4.  I just tried to sync my phone to my itunes acct to load new music onto my phone and it gave me a message saying that it was unable to sync b/c "the sync session failed to start".  It let me download all pictures, but would not let me do anything else and just kept repeating the same message.  Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

You need to subscribe to iTunes Match to store your music on iCloud:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/
To transfer iTunes Store purchases made on your phone to your computer, connect your phone then choose "Transfer purchases..." from the File menu in iTunes.
Photostream transfers photos taken on your iOS devices to other devices and your computer. For troubleshooting Photostream see: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989

  • Should Itunes Match be deleting the music on my iphone and IPAD

Still trying to get this figured out.  I'm almost certain that yesterday, when I first did Itunes Match, that all the music that was already on the Iphone and Ipad was not deleted (despite the warning to the contrary) when I toggled the Itunes Match switch on both.
I'm almost certain that yesterday, even after turning Itunes Match had been turned on, the music was not deleted and as new songs were added (ie CDs ripped)they showed up on both devices with the cloud Icon.
That is consistent with what I read here:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1163607/toggle_between_itunes_match_and_local_sy ncing.html
However, today, I re-downloaded some music after getting the higher quality versions with Itunes on my Mac.  I turned Itunes Match off on both my Iphone and IPad, thinking I would do a quick manual sync to the Mac, get all the songs put on each and then turn Itunes Match back on both.
I did so, but when I turned Itunes Match back on each, Itunes Match deleted all of my music, replacing all songs with the cloud icon now forcing me to redownload everything.  That seems inconsistent with what happened yesterday and is also inconsistent with the article above which seems to indicate that Itunes Match should be smart enough to realize the songs it doesn't need to delete.
Is the above article and my experience wrong?
    Thanks for the help!

What you are experiencing is normal. As soon as you turn on iTunes Match, it should wipe out all your songs that were manually put on your device and you will have to redownload. Its idiotic to me, but that is the way it is supposed to work. People have stated they sometimes fool the process, but it is supposed to remove them all.
Hope this helps. Down the road I wish they made it so you could do both, icloud and manual sync.

  • How do you move itunes from iphone to icloud

We bought a new computer & did not transfer old files onto it, so it's totally clean.  We have all our iTunes files on our Iphone - how do I export to our computer or better yet, how do I put iTunes into iCloud?  We don't know much about iCloud at all.  Thanks.

You can sync that music through iTunes but if you want to use iCloud with non-purchased music you need iTunes match.

  • How do I download files greater than 200MB to my Iphone now my music is in the iCloud?

How do I download files greater than 200MB to my Iphone now my music is in the iCloud? I still have my music on my hard drive of course.

Go to settings --> store --> and make sure automatic downloads for music is on.  If you download music in iTunes, it should automatically download to your phone.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

  • Why does itunes match delete all songs from my iPhone leaving me music less in the mountains! :(

i went through a drive through the mountains recently needless to say with out radio, only sourse of music... my precious iphone. well aparently after i had subscribed to itunes match it felt the need to go behind my back and delete all the songs i had previously on my phone! *** apple? i had to do an emergency pull over and yank out my macbook and when i pluged it in sure as could be no music stored on the phone so i was apparently streaming music chewing up a huge chunk of my data in little over two hours!i had to shut off itunes match on the macbook and the iphone and sync again just to get some music!!!
There has to have a solution!! why did it do this? Did anybody else have similiar issues?

I have the same problem and I'm not sure this addresses it.  I want to subscribe to iTunes match using my Mac; the intention being that I can then remove all the subset of my tunes from the ipad mini, and when travelling listen to music on the iPad mini via iTunes Match.
So the question still remains, does the music stored on my iPad mini get automatically removed when i subscribe to iTunes Match, or do I have to remove it??
Also, my iPad mini is showing that 1.8GB of storage is taken up by music at the moment, will all of this be freed if I subscribe to iTunes match and delete the music (irrespective of whether this is done manually or via an automatic delete).
    Thank you
