ITunes store "closed"?

I didn't think online stores ever "closed", in the traditional sense. But, based on the error message I'm getting, that's what's happening.
"The iTunes Store is unable to process purchases at this time. Payment processing is temporarily unavailable. You may continue to browse the store, please try to make your purchase later."
I've gotten this message twice this week, at different times of day, and I can usually download 1 or 2 songs at most before this message kicks in. My CC is on file, updated and with the $ available...  I live in New Brunswick, and am in the Atlantic time-zone, so can someone tell me (whether in local time or not) when the iTunes store is "closed", or down for maintenance?
Many thanks to anyone who can help, because this is getting on my nerves.

Restart the device.

  • ITunes Store is closing unexpected

I start iTunes store, search for a song, find Songs - then iTunes store closed suddenly. he is in the background, I start the store again, but again the store shut down! Knows anyone the reason?
    Kind regards

Is this on your computer's iTunes or your iPad ?
If your iPad then have you tried closing the iTunes store app via the iPad's multitasking bar and seeing if it works properly when you re-open it ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the iTunes app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If your computer then have you tried rebooting your computer and/or reinstalling iTunes ?

When I access the itunes store I get an error message saying that Itunes has detected a problem and has to be closed. The rest of Itunes is working fine... Any help?

  • My iTunes Store keeps closing?

I try to use my iTunes Store app but it keep closing right away it won't even load?

    Hi, Alllanos08.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Try closing all applications open in multitasking and power cycling the device.  Test accessing the iTunes store after the steps are processed.
If an app is unresponsive but the system seems to respond to button presses, you can force the app to close:
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
iOS: Force an app to close
If the issues persist, you may need to restore the device as Apple installed applications are unable to be deleted and reinstalled like third-party applications.

  • When you buy a buy at the itunes store do you get access to closed caption on like a DVD

I would like to know if the movies you purchase from the Itunes store allows you to have closed caption.  We have purchased a lot of amazon but the closed caption is not an option there and we would love to switch over to Itunes for movies.

Thank you for your reply. It was a game I purchased that is suppose to be compatible with IPOD 5G however it downloaded from the ITUNES store in the "Apps" of ITUNES, but shows that it is a game with the extension.ipa.  There is no game tab in ITUNES. How do I get the game tab back in order to sync with my IPOD 5G

  • ?Where do I find films with Subtitles (Closed Captions) on itunes store

    Hi...
Being hard of hearing, I have found that there is a limited choice of films on itunes store with subtitles (closed captions)!!
Can anyone tell me how I find films with subtitles without having to click on every thumb nail and also can Apple explain why not subtitles for all films that are on offer.
    Thanks
    Fired

On the iTunes Store home page, use the quick links section at the top right and click on Power Search. Then select Movies and check the "search for movies that contain closed captioning".

If you are seeing the "Connect to iTunes" logo, then your device is in Recovery Mode, and you will need to restore it:

  • Is there a way to auto sign out from itunes store when itunes is closed?

We have multiple libraries on one PC (Win7). Each user has their own Itunes account and their own Itunes library. When Itunes is closed and then reopened into a different library, the Itunes Store remaines signed in to the last user who signed in. I would like to automatically sign out of the Itunes store when Itunes is closed. Anybody have a suggestion?

    Hi,
iChat and Messages 7 (Mountain Lion) had a pane in the App Menu > Preferences  called Alerts.
This could see the Sounds in iChat (or Messages), the System Sounds defaults and anything you had stored in ~/Library/Messages and you could set any of these Sounds to any of the 17 actions as a global choice
As in Maverick if you highlight a Buddy in a Buddy List and then use CMD + i (Get Info) you could similarly set sound to individual Buddies.
You cannot do this in Mavericks/Messages 8 as the Alerts Pane have disappeared.
You cannot turn Off the sounds the app makes for the various different actions such as Video Invite or File Transfers.
You can no longer set individual Buddy sounds either.
There has not been a way to do this for iMessage Contacts.

  • My iTunes Store on IPhone comes up with an error ([newNullResponse]). It is just on the music tab, tv shows and movies tab works fine. I have tried restarting phone, closing app, turning my account off and on. What is the problem I need help?!!!!

My iTunes Store on iPhone comes up with an error [newNullResponse] always when I click the music tab. The movies and tv shows tab works fine. I have tried everything from restarting my phone to turning my account off and on.

Try a different cable and a different charger. If neither fixes it you probably need a new battery. Apple will replace it for $80 in the US; I don't know what the charge is in other locations.

  • Can't reopen Itunes once it has been closed without computer restart.  Can't acces Itunes store 3/4 of the time.  Itunes won't recognize Ipod Touch 5  Help?!

Since my Itunes was updated I have had nothing but problems.  When I open Itunes, the majority of the time I can not access the itunes store, though I can occasionally.  I have good internet connection.  I followed Itunes help associated with that and even downloaded the latest version of my graphics card.   Then if I close out of Itunes and go back to reopen it will not reopen at all.  The only way I can reopen it is by restarting my computer.  The other thing is that I have a brand new Ipod touch and Itunes does not recognize it.  Help!!!   I hate Itunes 11.0!!   If I didn't already have 7 Ipods and a song library of 6000, I would walk away from apple right now!!!

Okay for my issue I ended up calling Apple Support and getting a solution!   Yahoo!  It appears to be working properly without having to go back to the old version of Itunes, as was suggested by someone in this forum.   I have Windows 7, and they did suggest to makes sure my Windows 7 was updated, along with my Video Card.   The tech had me uninstall Itunes and Reinstall it, however she stressed to me that if it was not uninstalled in the proper order, Itunes still would not work after the re-install.
The proper order to uninstall Itunes from the add or remove programs, is:
    1st Itunes
    2nd Quicktime
    3rd Apple Software Update
    4th Apple Mobile Device
    5th Bonjour
    6th Apple Aplication Support
Following the uninstall I shut the computer off completely for one minute, then powered it back up, and went to www.itunes.com to reinstall the software.   Seems to be working now, with my Windows 7, without having to revert back to the old version of itunes.
