ITunes updates... why so often?
I understand that updates are critical to keep software running as smoothly as possible, but iTunes releases updates almost weekly. Why? The constant updates seem to cause more problems than they fix. They have yet to integrate an album art downloading feature, or ability to control how files are "organized." Also, there seems to be a persistent problem with skips randomly occuring in CD ripped music, and it is not due to scratched CDs, but rather some software issue contained in iTunes. If these weekly updates persist (some of which cause iTunes to "loose" my library, and I have to have it re-find all of my music), please address the critical issues. iTunes claims to be the best, and it is very good, but the programers seem to ignore the general complaints of its users. Notes on what was fixed in each update are not available to my knowledge online, and I'm sure there are many of us who would appreciate knowing what we are installing. Please, listen to user's complaints.

You need iTunes 10.0 or greater to update your phone...iTunes isn't confused at all. If you're on a Mac, you'll need OS X 10.5.8 or greater to update iTunes to 10.0 or greater.

Why can't I download the new itunes update? It only downloads halfway then says there is an invalid signature.
Been having that problem myself. Just click on this link http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/ and download it from there. It worked for me. Hope this helps.

I sounds like you have the first generation (1G) iPod Touch with an iOS earlier than 2.0, Yu can identify your ipod here:

You can identify your iOS version by going to Settings>General>About and look by Version. Yu can update ti iOS 3.1.3 (the lated for the 1G) by this link. It is a paid update. You may have to try another browser to get he sublink to work correctly.

Looks like you have a 3G not a 3Gs...
Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Check for Updates “...
If an Update Appears Install it... if not... you are up to date for your particular Device...

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -

Sometimes things happen when you update software. That is why you are always supposed to backup. Others have had issues - just look around. -

Why are iTunes updates a joke. the newest updates wipe out my 64 bit and does not recocnise my iphone or ipad. The only one that will work is 10.5.2 but iphone is not supported.

Everytime I want to remote my itunes from my iphone, itunes search for radio-stream updates. I often use remote when I'm not connected to Internet so itunes tell me that I should connect because the radio-stream update can't be made. This is new since 10.5. Can I turn off the search for Radio-Stream or does someone else has an Idea how to fix the problem?
weird very weird. today i did this again today after already being unsuccessful earlier. exactly the same thing as i have done before, exactly. didn't try to import. didn't say damaged library, copied everything in including date. have tried it about 10 times no luck. today it just worked.
how weird is that?

What's the precise text of the error without the SQLite3.dll in \Mobile Device Support\
When you checked to see if there still were errors (after dragging the file out), was there a copy of the file still back in \Apple Application Support\? -
when i hooked up my ipod to my computer and opened itunes it wouldnt connect to it. therefore i cant add music. why wont it show up, or sync? i just got the itunes update also so i dont know how to add music to my ipod if it changed.

iTunes has not had a sidebar for over a year. You can see one (as iTunes 10 used to show) by doing View > Show Sidebar from iTunes' menu.
But I'm not sure if that is your issue. You do not need a sidebar to do home sharing. Are you running the current iTunes (11.1.3)? Have you turned on sharing in Preferences? Have you done File > Turn on Home Sharing? -

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Featurs appin the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause
