IVR options between 4.1.1c and 5.0.4b

Hi, I need to migrate data off 1 storage-subsystem and onto another,
both storage-subsystems reside in separate fabrics.
Background: 2 separately administered fabrics to be consolidated in some way.
current layout:
                 fabric-1                               fabric-2
SVC (4.3.1.x) ---[MDS9134 (4.1.1c)]          [MDS9509 (5.0.4b)]---SVC(6.2.0.5)
(no vsans, everything in 1)                    (using vsans)
desired layout:
                 fabric-1                               fabric-2
SVC (4.3.1.x) ---[MDS9134 (4.1.1c)]=?=(IVR)==[MDS9509 (5.0.4b)]---SVC(6.2.0.5)
? --> some ivr supported switch
Task: Move data from fabric-1 to fabric-2, so fabric-1 can be rebuilt to fabric-2's standards
We were looking at putting a MDS9148 between the two fabrics to allow an IVR between the 2 fabrics,
but unfortunately the fabric-2 got upgraded to 5.0.4b, sub-sequently dropping the MDS9148
from IVR support.
We have spare switches are available: MDS9509 but with sup1 modules and Enterprise Licence
2x MDS9148 and an old MDS9216A.
Can anyone think of a way around this?

  • Disk Utility: Differences between "Zero Out Data" and "7-Pass Erase"?

I'm wondering if anyone knows if there's a significant difference between the "Zero Out Data" erase option in Disk Utility (specifically Disk Utility 10.5.5), and the "7-Pass Erase" and "35-Pass Erase" options in same software.
Here's why I'm asking: I have a co-worker with an iMac G5 20" 1.8GHz with 160GB internal hard drive. As a result of the power supply overheating a week ago due to dust, some hard drive problems resulted. I'm trying to assess whether these are 'soft' formatting problems that can be recovered from, or 'hard' problems requiring replacement of the hard drive and/or power supply.
Following the failure, I removed the dust and restored the iMac to servicable form. The power supply seems to be OK now. The next thing was to attempt to recover as much data as possible from the 160GB, as the last full backup was a week old. Carbon Copy Cloner, shell copy via 'sudo cp -p -R -v', Finder copy, and DiskWarrior recovery all met with problems. TechTool Pro identified a huge swatch of unreadable sectors during repeated surface scans. Unfortunately, these unreadable sectors were located midway in the OSX boot partition (an 80GB partition), and not in the other 80GB partition devoted to lower priority video data.
When I was satisfied I had backed up the data to the best of my abilities, I next set out to reformat the drive and see if the bad sectors could be eliminated or remapped out of existence. I did a "Zero Out Data" erasure in Disk Utility (with no errors during the erase), but TechTool Pro showed the bad sectors persisted in equal strength at the same location. I next executed a sixteen hour "7-Pass Erase" (again no errors, and confirming that it takes about an hour per 10GB). The next day when I ran TechTool pro, all of the sector errors had disappeared. I'm a bit perplexed as to why the "7-Pass Erase" seems to have recovered the use of the drive. Is it possible that there are simply thousands of bad sectors now remapped that I'm not seeing? [If so, how do I check for this?] TechTool Pro has not reported any S.M.A.R.T. issues to date on the drive. What am I to make of that?
There are some related threads I've checked into, but I'm not sure how to properly assess my situation based on this information:
    <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=232007>
    <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=138559>
    <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=118455>
Since the iMac has three weeks left on it's one year warranty, and I've already moved the user to another machine temporarily, I'm thinking that the smart thing to so is to send it in to Apple to have them look at the power supply and hard drive. That way, when it returns, even if there is still a lingering hardware problem, at least it will be covered under warranty for another 90 days.
    Any thoughts?
    iMac G5 20" 1.8GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   1.25GB RAM, 160GB hard disk, SuperDrive

    HI, Bret.
The only differences between "Zero Out Data", "7-Pass Erase", and "35-Pass Erase" are the number of times a binary zero is written to every bit on the disk. "Zero Out Data" writes a binary zero once, whereas the 7- and 35-Pass options write a zero seven and 35 times, respectively.
Technically, one pass with Zero Out Data should be sufficient to map bad sectors out of service, a process also known as sparing. If a bad sector is encountered, it is both marked as "in use" in the directory's allocation table and added to the directory's "bad blocks file."
My understanding is that the Surface Scan of Tech Tool Pro should identify bad sectors every time it is run unless the bad sectors have been locked out by the drive controller of the ATA drive itself. This is because Surface Scan checks the entire surface of the disk.
What may have happened is that running "Zero Out Data" spared the bad blocks from a directory standpoint, but did not result in the drive's controller locking out those sectors for reasons detailed in the "Surface Scan" section of the Tech Tool Pro manual. However, the 7-Pass Erase may have resulted in the drive's controller locking out the bad sectors and why Surface Scan did not pick them up after such.
Given the problems you described, I concur with your plan to have Apple check the affected computer. You might also want to consider purchasing an AppleCare Protection Plan for that Mac: I recommend and buy these for all my Macs.
For some additional information on bad sectors, see the "Bad Sectors" section of my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ.
    Good luck!

  • The difference between AIR-ANT5135D-R and AIR-ANT5135DB-R

    Hi,
Anyone know what is the difference between AIR-ANT5135D-R and  AIR-ANT5135DB-R ?
From the dynamic configuration tools for 1252 and 1242, AIR-ANT2422DB-R is inside one of the antenna option.
However, I can't find it in the "Cisco Aironet Antennas and Accessories Reference  Guide"
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps7183/ps469/product_data_sheet09186a008008883b.html
Inside the document there is only AIR-ANT5135D-R.
likewise for the 2.4 GHz,  AIR-ANT2422DB-R is inside the dynamic configuration tools and not inside "Cisco Aironet Antennas and Accessories Reference  Guide"
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks,
    Richard

Found the difference, AIR-ANT5135DB-R and       AIR-ANT2422DB-R are  non-articulating antennas.
    Thanks!

Like you've presented it, nothing.  There is no difference and neither is the "better option".

  • If you are torn between a Lenovo W550s and a Dell M3800

I am sharing my Lenovo W550s and Dell Precision M3800 experiences and testing results with you.
    My Laptop Configurations:
Lenovo W550s with Intel dual core 17-5600 CPU @2.60GHz, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA Quadro K620M, 1TB Samsung 850 Pro SATA SSD (user upgrade from HDD) with RAPID enabled
Dell Precision M3800 with Intel quad core i7-4702HQ CPU @2.2GHz, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA Quadro K1100M, 512 GB Samsung SM841 mSATA SSD
    Applications Used for Performance Ratings/Testing:
    - Windows 7 Performance Information and Tools
    - Photoshop CS6 (Image Processor activated from Bridge)
    Applications Used for Work Testing:
PTC MathCAD for structural engineering calculations (some over 200 pages long)
Adobe Photoshop CS6 for photography image processing
    Core Temp 1.0 RC6
    Vendor’s diagnostics applications
    My Computer Testing Experience:
I have owned, used and tested laptop computers since IBM announced their first model. I used IBM ThinkPads for a number of years until IBM sold the division to Lenovo. I owned and used Lenovo T-model laptop before switching to the Dell M3800 in January 2014. I bought a Lenovo W550s when my Dell failed, and it took Dell over a month to successfully repair the unit. The Dell is now working fine and allowed me to do the tests and get the results you see below. I upgraded the Lenovo from a 500 GB HDD to a Samsung 850 Pro 1TB and Samsung Magician (RAPID enabled), and that is the configuration I used to do the following tests.
    Windows 7 Performance Ratings:
Let’s get right to it and admit the Lenovo is not as powerful a work machine as the Dell when it comes to pure calculations. Windows rates the Dell processor at 7.6, whereas, it rates the Lenovo at 6.5 calculations per second. I did not feel that difference when using the two computers and most people will not, but for intense calculations with applications that actually use quad core processors to their max, Dell will win the day. I felt no difference in image processing nor MathCAD calculation manipulation when working on one image or modifying a computer model because human intervention and decisions were almost always the limiting factors. However, running batch processes shows a difference in the laptops. Lenovo took 34 minutes batch processing 1215 images (converting to smaller size) and Dell took 31 minutes. This tells me that disk I/O bottlenecks can actually make the Lenovo perform almost at the same level with the Dell but with half of the CPU cores and thus, lower internal temperatures. RAPID was turned on for Lenovo, but not available for Dell which makes a big difference in I/O speed. Without RAPID, the Dell would run circles around the Lenovo.
Dell also won on graphics at 7.0 compared with 6.7 for Lenovo (Lenovo Turbo Boost enabled makes an improvement from 5.9). While processing photo images, I could not feel any speed difference between the two computers while using Photoshop. There are often delays when going to and from plugin filters such as Nik and OnOne when using any processor. Those delays felt the same with both Dell and Lenovo.
Windows rates the Dell at 7.8 for memory but the Lenovo at 7.6. Since both of my machines have 16GB of RAM, the access speed for the Dell must be a little faster.
    Display:
I use the Intel built-in Intel HD graphics adapter for both laptops because my applications do not play well with the NVDIA adapters in the units, and I do no gaming. I disable the NVDIA adapter in the Lenovo to get longer battery life and lower internal temperatures. Disabling the NVDIA adapter in the Dell seemed to make no difference in internal temperature nor battery life.
I use both computers in 1920x1200 pixel resolution so I can see the Photoshop and MathCAD icons and controls well enough to not make mistakes. Even though both Dell and Lenovo provide higher resolutions, they both work well scaled to 1920 pixels. Although both screens have excellent contrast and color saturation, the Lenovo screen has less glare than the Dell and, as a result, is easier to use for image processing using Photoshop when there are unshaded windows nearby.
I did notice a color and contrast shift when viewing the Dell screen off center by just 15-20 degrees. The Lenovo contrast shifts also but not as much and the colors do not appear to shift even with large viewing angle changes. More care has to be taken to view the Dell straight on when processing photo images.
I calibrated the screen for both computers using Spyder3 Elite and got results that were comparable. After calibration, Dell provides close to 100% sRGB gamut while the Lenovo is about 90% and the brightness of both work well for photo editing and production. The Dell was slightly better for color control, but the screen glare can be an issue when working in a building that has windows nearby.
    Keyboard:
Both keyboards are excellent, but I like the Dell keyboard a little better. However, I have used Lenovo TrackPoints for many years, and I like that feature. It find it much easier to use than a scratch pad and it works well as a pointer control.
The Dell keyboard backlighting turns on as soon as you start to type and illuminates the keys well. The Lenovo keyboard backlighting has three optional settings, but the brightest setting does not produce the same level of lighting the Dell produces. The Dell keyboard is thus easier to use in low light.
I will not address the Numeric Key pad. Lenovo has one and Dell does not. I don’t use numeric keypads, so it makes no difference to me.
    Connectivity:
USB Ports: Dell has two USB ports on each side. One on each side is powered (always on) and one is USB 2.0. Lenovo has two USB 3.0 ports on the right side and one USB 3.0 port on the left. Only one of those ports is always on. In both cases, you have to look careful to see which port is always on.
Video Output: Dell has an HDMI port in addition to a Thunderbolt port. Lenovo only provides a Thunderbolt port; you have to use an HDMI converter to get HDMI output.
Ethernet: Dell has no Ethernet port; you have to use an Ethernet dongle to get the conversion from USB. Lenovo has an Ethernet port. I seldom use Ethernet ports anymore since most motels have wifi, so the lack of an Ethernet port is not an issue for me.
    Battery Power:
Dell has one internal batter. You can get it with a 91Wh or 61Wh, but you cannot easily change the configuration—you have to take the computer apart. I have the 91Wh version, and it lasts about 3 hours for me on an airplane. The Lenovo has one internal 44Wh battery and three optional rear batteries: 23, 48 and 72 Wh. You can swap out those rear batteries in the Lenovo without shutting the unit down. The Lenovo also provides an excellent power management application that enables you to select the performance level you wish to use and predicts the remaining battery time that you will get based on that selection. So, if you plan to be in a base camp in the Serengeti where you have limited access to charging stations, the Lenovo with extra batteries is the machine for you. I seldom have that type of scenario, but it is good to know I have the option.
    Heat Emission:
The Dell has two internal fans that blow out the bottom of the unit. You can get a hot lap or do damage to the computer if you actually use it in your lap or block that vent in any way. The Lenovo has one internal fan, and it blows out the side of the unit. The Lenovo does not get as hot on the bottom. The Core Temp application indicated the Lenovo CPUs ran about 12C cooler than those in the Dell (72C versus 84C) under stress diagnostic testing at 90-100% CPU load using the vendor’s own diagnostic application. In my own experience while using the Dell for a year, heat can be an issue and probably contributed to a system board failure in my unit.
    Size and Weight:
Dell wins the day in both categories. It is about ¼ inch thinner (not counting the height of the feet) than the Lenovo with the 23 Wh battery attached and about 0.25 pounds lighter including the batteries. Both the size and weight make the Dell feel more like an iPad than a workstation. The aluminum top and carbon-fiber base are both high tech, look good and keep the weight down. However, the lack of heat conduction in the base may contribute to over-heating issues…as it did in my case.
    Conclusions:
There is no doubt that the Dell laptop has sex appeal with the thinner body and lighter weight. It also packs a lot of power. However, my own experience has shown that the Dell can be a high-maintenance machine. The Lenovo may have warts as well…only time will tell. However, it feels more like a reliable work horse while the Dell feels like a temperamental race horse. It will be difficult picking just one of them for treks that limit me to one laptop, but the Lenovo will probably win the day. I will take both with me when I can so I have a backup computer in my bag. Maybe I will get my wife to lug the Dell along on long international trips, and I will take the Lenovo in my bag. That would be a win-win…but at a price of course.

The folks at NotebookCheck do the kind of benchmarks you reference. You can see their results at:
    http://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-W550s-Workstation-Review.137989.0.html
The tests I ran were just to help me decide which laptop to use since I now have both.
I do use ATTO as well as CrystalDiskMark for disk/SSD read and write testing. Of course both go off the map when you enable RAPID in the Lenovo with the Samsung 850 Pro installed. RAPID does actually speed up work processing...not just wow the I/O test software.
I was getting about 550/450 MB/s read/write with both laptops before I enabled RAPID. With RAPID I get 3345 read and 1833 write with the Lenovo.
Too bad RAPID does not work with all Samsung SSD storage devices.

  • Report on 'the number of calls' on an IVR Option menu

    Dear NetPro gurus,
My customer has an IVR on UCCX which works fine.  However, they have recently add in an 'Option 6' where when PSTN caller press on it, it will redirect the call out to an 1800 number onto the PSTN.
The call connects perfectly fine.  What my customer wants is to have a report on how many PSTN caller press on this newly created Option 6 of the IVR.
For all the other 5 IVR options, they all have an individual CSQ assigned to them and there is a 'Set Enterprise Call Info' step to send the 'options selected' to UCCX.
However, for this Option 6, since there is no CSQ (because the call gets redirect to a PSTN number), is there any way i can script it so that it can be tally and identified by Cisco Historical Reports too?
I have spent a lot of time on this already so would appreciated if anyone can shed some light on this.
    Cheers,
    Hunt

    Hi Hunt
There are quite a few posts on the subject on the forums.
Basically you can do one of these things:
    1) Run an 'application summary' report - typically the count of 'flow out' calls will be the  number of calls sent to your 1800 number, if this is the only non-CSQ destination that your script sends calls to (e.g. if there are no other external numbers, voicemail, or internal DNs that you send the calls to other than via a CSQ).
    2) Run a 'custom call variables' report and then count up the number of rows that have the info that you set on 'set enterprise call info' when the call was routed externally
    3) If those aren't good enough, then you can produce a custom report to show the data in the format the customer wants. This would require some good SQL and Crystal skills...

Short of trying to then reverse-engineer the objects that are in the dump file (I believe Data Pump export files contain some XML representations of DDL in addition to various binary bits, making it potentially possible to try to scan the dump file for the object definitions), I would tend to assume that the export didn't include those type definitions.
Since it looks like you're trying to set up the sample schemas, is there a reason that you wouldn't just run the sample schema setup scripts on the destination database? Why are you using Data Pump in the first place?

  • Errors between Mail 5 inbox and Server inbox on the Exchange Server

    Hi,
I upgraded to Lion recently and it seems that the Mail application struggles with the Exchange interface (although it was already the case for Snow Leopard).
Bottom line there are some email messages in my Mail inbox, which in principle mirrors the inbox on the Exchange server, which are not on the server anymore but still appears in the Inbox. The main problems is if I want to delete such message, I get an error message saying the the "message can nto be moved to Trash". Logically, since it is not on the server it is by extension not in the inbox, but it seems that a duplicate of messages gets stuck in the Mail application. Problem is that now they can;t be moved.
I restarted the application to restart the synchornisation, and still messages appears on my Mac but do not exists even on the server.
Has anyone has tips on how to get rid of these emails?
    Thanks in advance

  • I want to share files between my MacBook Pro and G5, I am using an AirPort

I want to share files between my MacBook Pro and G5, I am using an AirPort Extreme Base Station. I can see the MacBook Pro on the G5 and vice versa, I have file sharing turned on both, as well as Screen Sharing. I currently am sharing using Target Disk Mode, I want to know what other wireless options are available to me?
I want to have the 2 computers able to see each other and be able to share files be drag and dropping, I also have another G4 on using Tiger I want to be a part of this happy Apple sharing family. Can someone please tell me how to accomplish my goal?
Thanks in advance for reading and replying to my post,
    Sebastian

The mac help is: Finder window/Help/Mac Help. It provides answers to a lot of common questions, including file sharing.
As for the ethernet cable, you can either buy another one (inexpensive and available in many places including Walmart), or just unplug it from your modem temporarily and plug it back in when you're done.
As for Target disk mode, take a look at this Apple article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583
Apple online support pages are also a great way to find out how to do things.
As I mentioned, I prefer using the ethernet/file sharing method if I need to copy a lot of files; however, there is another way around if you have an external drive and just want to copy one or two files. Just plug the external into one computer, copy the file onto it, unplug, plug into the other computer and copy.

  • Communication between PC/RM Backend and ERP System

    Hi,
Is it possible to have communication between PC/RM Backend and ERP System by cresting RFCUSER with user type communications data instead of Dialog user.
Because of audit policy , none of DIALOG user should have SAP_ALL profile.
Is there a option to set up communications  between PC/RM Backend and ERP System without a Dialog user setting.
    Pravin

    Hi Pravin,
You are right and the user should be always communication or system. GRC AC allows for the user to be communication or system. Can you try with PC/RM RFC user and see if it works? It should work

  • Trying to Hot Sync Visor Pro with Windows 7 (64 bit OS) - getting error: "The connection between your handheld computer and the destktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again."

    Hi.
I read the posting regarding the options on Hotsyncing for Windows 7; however, I have some questions as I have a 64-bit system.
I have a Visor Pro that I'm trying to Sync up with my new laptop which is running Windows 7.
    Steps I have taken:
    * installed the Visor Palm Desktop 3.0.1 that came with the Visor (which the installation went well)
    * The issue arises when I push the "Sync" button on the cradle and the following error message appears "The connection between your handheld computer and the destktop could not be established.  Please check your setup and try again."
Since I have a 64-bit OS it appears that I have 2 options: 1) bluetooth or 2) Infrared.
I have to admit I don't know know how to do either of these (how can I tell if this Handspring Visor Pro has bluetooth (which I don't it does)?).
Then how about the Infrared option?  I see on the PDA it has a red area that one can "beam" info.  Is this the same as Infrared or my 2nd option?
I love my Visor and want to continue using it, but need to backup the valuable info!
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
    THANKS!!!!!
    Post relates to: Visor Pro

Hello lwalbring and welcome to the Palm forums.
Your Visor, as you suspect, does not have Bluetooth, so you must use the IR HotSync option.  Since you are using Windows 7 64-bit, I believe that you are going to have to upgrade to Palm Desktop 6.2.2 to make things work from an OS/Driver perspective.
Since you are using such an old device, you are also going to have to download and install the PalmHotSyncSetup Utility from Pimlico.  This update turns on support for old Palm OS PDAs in Palm Desktop 6.2.2.  Without the update, you won't be able to sync your Visor with Palm Desktop 6.2.2.  The software is free and the link is all the way at the bottom of the screen.
Lastly, if your PC doesn't have an IR port on it, you will need to purchase a USB to IR adapter.  Some laptops still have IR ports and most desktops don't.
Once you have all the pieces, you'll want to go back to the Windows 7 and Vista HotSync thread again, and follow the directions for setting up and configuring IR HotSyncs.

  • What are my options for in car charging AND music playing for iPhone 3G?

Ok, before you direct me to the other threads, I have read them, and I still don't know what product I can buy for my 3G that will charge my phone and play music in my car.
With my original iPhone I was using the Griffin iTrip FM transmitter. It always gave me that message to ask if I want to switch to airplane mode. I would pick yes or no, then it would charge and play music.
When I plug in my 3G I get the yellow triangle warning that says this device doesn't charge this phone (paraphrasing of course). It appears that it will play music, but if it won't charge my phone then I'm going to run the battery down fast. I rely on being able to charge my phone a bit during the day in the car.
I do not have any AUX port in my car or any kind of iPod hookup in my car that I am reading about on other threads. As far as I know, an FM transmitter or a cassette adapater (I do have a tape deck) are my only options. However, since my husband's car that I drive on the weekends to work does not have a tape deck, I would really prefer a device that does not use a tape (also my previous experience with a tape adapter is that they stop working after a short while).
The power port in my car is nearly at the floor, nowhere near the dash, so any device I use cannot require me to rely on the "on device" controls to control the music.
    I see this on amazon
*Griffin PowerJolt Car Charger for iPod and iPhone (Black)*
    *Technical Details*
*¿ Enjoy full use of your iPod or iPhone during car trips, and arrive with your battery fully charged.*
*¿ Includes detachable Dock Connector to USB Type A cable that can be used separately to connect your iPod or iPhone to your computer.*
*¿ Includes USB Type A to mini-B cable so you can charge while using Griffin iTrip or other dock connector devices that have built-in pass-throughs.*
*¿ 2 Amp automotive blade-type fuse protects against spikes and surges and is easily replaceable.*
*¿ Works with iPhone, iPod models that feature full-size dock connector, and iPod shuffle (1st generation).*
And in another thread, people reported that the Griffin powerjolt DOES work with the 3G, so does the above description mean that I can use this device with my iTrip to charge and play music?

My Pioneer iPod car audio adapter cable does NOT charge my iPhone 3G and they have no plans to change this at this time.
I have a cheapo Griffin car iPod charger (the kind that has a plug for the cigarette lighter and a separate cable that has a mini-USB on one end and a dock connector on the other) and it DOES charge my 3G iPhone.
Go figure, but for now there it is.
Someone HAS to be working on an adapter that goes between the 3G iPhone and a dock connector device to fix this charging issue (which I guess has to do with the last iPhone and many iPods being able to charge via USB at 5V and/or FireWire at 12V but the new iPhone only charging via USB at 5V)

  • Encrypt communication between SharePoint Web App and SSRS

    Hi
I have SharePoint 2010 in multi server farm. The SharePoint web app has SSL enabled. The Reporting Server (SSRS) is http URL.
So when the Report Viewer web part is used, the communication between SharePoint web server and SharePoint Reporting Server is unsecured. The existing SSL has hard coded hostnames and for business reasons we prefer not to modify it.
Does anyone know how can I make that communication secured? Do I need to apply new SSL for SP Reporting Services? Is there any other option?

This should get you off and running on SSL
