IWay Adapter for Siebel

Hi,
   Could you please tell me what are the advantages of using iWay adapter to integrate with Siebel?
   Is it possible to use file or HTTP adapter to send data to Siebel? If yes, then why do we need iway adapter?

Hi Vivek,
Basically u will have 3 transport protocols in Siebel iWay Adapter like File,MQ,HTTP.You can use any on of the transport protocol basing on the requirement.

Problems with OracleAS adapter for Siebel

Hi,
I have a problem starting the Java data bean connection from the OracleAS Adapter Application Explorer. When I try to connect to my Siebel Instance I get the following error from the application explorer
Problem Activating adapter. (null). See logs for details.

My platform is AS 10g (10.1.2.0.2) with Adapters (10.1.2.0.2) on Solaris 10. I am connecting to a Siebel 7.8 instance running on Windows 2000 SP4.

Hi,
There could be couple of possible reasons for this. Please see below:
1. When you configure a adapter target for Siebel 7.7 or 7.8, do not supply a value for "Siebel Server" field. Please see details related to this in the "Defining a Target to Siebel" section of the Siebel adapter user guide.
2. If the adapter is installed in the UNIX platform, then necessary encoding should be added to the Application Explorer and the Application Server. Please see the details for this in the "Establishing a Connection (Target) for Siebel" of the Siebel adapter user guide.
Let me know whether this sorts out the issue or not.

Problem about Iway Adapter for SAP

My Problem is when I updated the data in SAP system, Iway adapter also updated but in my application did not update this data at all, so I needed to restart Weblogic server and then it was updated ka. Thus, whenever I changed the data in SAP, I need to stop and start Weblogic server again and again in order to make it update na ka. I don’t know what the problem is about the server and How I can get over it. Can somebody give me any suggestion?

Adapters on WebLogic 7.0 are very old and are application view based adapters.
Wanted to know what version of WebLogic and iWay adapter will support the integration with SAP ECC 6.0?It depends on how you plan to use the Adapters (ie with OSB or SOA Suite).

iWay is the OEM for both adapters.
Also is there any recommended upgrade / migration plan defined for such a scenario? Adapter on WebLogic 7.0 are very old and there is no migration path.
Any compatibility issues to be aware of. Please provide any details / references related to thisNothing I'm aware of. To avail connectivity to SAP ECC6.0, you will have to use latest weblogic for which the adapters are certified.

IWAY Adapter(siebel): Error while using Applicaiton Explorer

I tried configuring iway adapter(Siebel) for XI to connect to Siebel system.
Steps followed
Deployed iWay Connector for XI, JCA TestTool and Deployed Application Explorer.
Configured iWay business service engine (File Repository).
When I use Application explorer and create a New Siebel target and try to connect, if get the error Problem activating adapter. I found the following in Error logs.... IWAY55\config\base\log, i found aejca_XXX.log

Is a keystore file mandatory..? It dosen't get created during standard installation. do we have to create it manually..?

Hi Siva,
Plz check whether you kept the correct JAR files(drivers) related to siebel in the lib folder of the iWay installation directory.
And also check whether you have given the iWay root directory path during creating configuration in Application explorer

SAP SWIFT as replacement for IWAY adapter

We are planning to replace the current IWAY adapter with the SAP SWIFT, however, it is found out that its usage is very different from the IWAY. Currently, we have several interfaces that use the IWAY adapter, basically, it is maintained in the DESIGN and has a metadata adapter which enables it to be used by the interfaces in the CONFIG. However, for the SAP SWIFT, there is no metadata adapter in it, it looks like just an ordinary stand alone interface having objects in both design and config. I am just wondering on how would the interfaces be able to use this SAP SWIFT? are there major changes in the interfaces (mapping, config, etc.) to be done in order to utilize the SAP SWIFT?

I dont think SAP SWIFT will replace IWAY adapter ,IF you refered my first replay you will find below info,which explined clearly

Oracle Adapter for MySAP: Error trying to publish RFC as WSLD using J2CA.

Hi,
I'm using the "Application Explorer" tool in order to publish a BAPI function as WSLD. I can connect the SAP system, I can access the BAPI function, and when I try to execute "Export Outbound JCA Service (request/response)"... I get nothing but a error trace on the console...
**Exception occurred during event dispatching:**
**java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/bea/wli/config/resource/BaseQuery**
**at com.ibi.bse.gui.ExportIntoWSDLDialog.exportWSDL(ExportIntoWSDLDialog.java:483)**
Although the error is quite clear:
1.- I can not find this class in any JAR file in my Oracle Service Bus installation (10.3.0).
2.- Why is the Application Explorer tool accessing that class? is it right? do I need to make extra-configuration? I just follow all the steps described in "Application Adapter Installation Guide (MySAP ERP, Siebel, PeopleSoft, J.D. Edwards OneWorld) WebLogic Server 10g Release 3 (10.3.1.0)" and "Application Adapter for MySAP ERP User's Guide WebLogic Server 10g Release 3 (10.3.1.0)".

The same end-result for What Siva mentioned, can also be accomplished by running setDomainEnv script in command prompt. It would set all the required jars in classpath. In the same prompt use ae.bat. (for eg. in linux it would be . ./setDomainEnv.sh followed by ae.sh in the same bash/prompt)
I prefer to do something like this in first line of ae.bat if the above method is not possible

Mostly the problem I see is the version numbers for the jars mentioned by Siva will change from OSB version to version. Can you double check if the version numbers of jars match (eg com.bea.core.management.core_2.3.0.0.jar can be com.bea.core.management.core_2.3.x.y.jar in your installation.)

How run reports JDE from BPEL using the Adapter for JD Edwards OneWorld?

Hi,
I need to load on line a lot of invoices from Bpel to JD Edwards using the Adapter for JD Edwards OneWorld (iWay).
Using Business Functions as Web Services it wasn't a not good idea because of this Adapter is poorly constructed and doesn't allow simultaneous loads, a memory leak occurs on JDE server. And to load them invoice by invoice is very slow.
A choice is to use Z tables and load them through schedules, but Bpel loses total control.
I heard that I can run processes reports that enable to extract the data from the Z tables and load them into JDE.
How can I execute reports JD Edwards invoked from BPEL using the Adapter for JD Edwards OneWorld?

Hi Dario,
BizTalk 2013 R2 (JDE LOB Adapter) is not tested against latest release of JDE EnterpriseOne 9.1.
It only supports with 8.12 and 9.0 version of JDE.

Well, the Oracle SAP Adapter will be an option for u.
There is one alternative withing the SAP Adatper, that allows u to present as Web Services (IBSE Servlet), operations available in SAP.
So, publishing Web Services with the Adapter, is definitely something u can do, and just wire them withing OSB.

MSQM Adapter for use with PI 7.x

I was wondering if some vendor supplies an adapter for connecting PI to MSMQ ( Microsoft's message queuing) .
Perhaps there is a JMS adapter out there.
What other techniques exist for getting messages to and from MSMQ?

The customer may have biztalk available so that is a potential option too.
Looks like MSMQ is NOT JMS compliant.
