Hi
We are installing SAP WEBAS NW04 on AIX 5.2 server/Oracle 9.2.0.4 database.
We finished ABAP installation and continue to install Java Add-in but we got some errors bellow when J2ee re-started:

We already updated kernel to patch level 30 , re-created SAPJSF user on client 000 and 550 (our installation client informed
during installation - for this re-creation, we used function module ****). we didn´t apply any support packages on this
environment as for XI installation , we saw on documentation that we need a SAP WEBAS SP0 as a pre-requisite (Is this
correct??).
After those problems, we can´t continue as J2ee server and dispatcher must be running to finished all deploy files.
Looking on /usr/sap/NWP/DV*/work directory , dev_jcontrol has this error:

    Ananda,
you saved my day!  I've been banging my head against the wall with this same problem during a J2EE add-in installation for SRM 4.0 on Windows, in preparation of an LAC 2.0 installation.  I had tried deleting the schema first, but that didn't work.  After I removed the sys\global\security folder as well, it worked perfectly.
    Thank you.

Any ideas on what might cause this issue?

I believe I got the server working. The system may have had an issue recognizing the environmental variables being set in the .bash_profile and the setconfig.sh.
If anyone could clarify the errors above, I would greatly appreciate the information.

    Hi,
I'll take a guess that you are on HP-UX. If so try these patches:
    PHSS_26560   1.0  ld(1) and linker tools cumulative p..
PHSS_26946   1.0  HP aC++ -AA runtime libraries (aCC..
The patches are mentioned at www.hp.com/go/java.
If these do not help, I would suggest you open a customer mesage with support.

  • Installation WAS ABAP UC + WAS J2EE Add In..and XI

    Hello everybody,
Could anyone help me with this issue ??
I am going to install WAS ABAP and WAS J2EE Add in and after that do the XI installation.
I am reading the installation guides and I have some doubts about "Hardware and SOft Requirements Section".
I am going to do a Central System Installation (WAS ABAP + WAS JAVA Add in)
I have read the two installation guides: WAS ABAP and WAS J2EE.
Somewhere I read that I have to add requeriments. For example, if I am going to install CI and DB on the same server, then I have to add RAM for CI and RAM for DB.
    The question is:
In the installation guide for WAS ABAP, Database Requeriment Disk is 14 GB (Unicode)
And in the installation guide for WAS JAVA, Database Req. Disk is 14 Gb (Unicode)
Have I to add 14 + 14 ?? Or 14 Gb is OK for the database with the two schemas ??
Same is for Paging File ?? I am 64 bit server.
    It is a Development System
    Many, many thanks !!

We have a ABAP/J2EE 6.20 system running with only 8GB ram total on the system and we do get some swapping but for a development I would say we see great performance.
    XI I can'T say though...

  • Problem deploying application - ERROR: No j2ee modules detected

    Hi
I am new to jDeveloper, and I have created a stateless session EJB, and a JSF page with one ADF component on. When I try to deploy my application to Weblogic, I get this error:
ERROR: No j2ee modules detected in EAR archive. Deployment aborted
Any ideas what I can do to fix this?
    Thank you
    Søren

Hi, I had this same problem. The whole purpose of a EAR is containing a J2EE app. It's divided on a Web Components Archive (WAR) and a JAR with the Enterprise App. I found this document useful and the app could be deployed successfully to an EAR. Remember to include all you extra libraries as another file Group of the "Libraries Type". Basically you owuld have to separatelly create the WAR deployment descriptor, the EJB JAR deployment descriptor and after that create the EAR based on one or two of them.

This document is intended for Jdev10g and OracleAS 10, but the procedure is almost the same for both versions.

    Hello Siva,
When ever you start J2EE server it needs enough memory to start its processes.
Just see no other processes are occupying memory.
If you can restart the system once and start J2EE it will work fine.
When it comes to J2EE processes not running it always boils down to not enough JVM. Kindly look into system so that it doesn't have too many processes starting when system comes up.
See to it it has enough memory available to start JVM. What happens when you start Java is Jlaunch talks to instance.properties based on this file J2EE looks for several processes and services. Which needs enough memory.
So I would request you to restart system once and see to kill the processes which are occupying too much of memory.
Then Restart the Java this will work.
    Thanks & Regards
    Vivek

  • J2EE add-in on ABAP system (ECC 5.0)

    HI,
How to install J2EE Add-in on ABAP system (ECC 5.0).
I have installed ABAP stack on ECC 5.0.
Now i want to add Java stack.
Can any one help me how to add java stack on an existing abap system.
are there any pre-requsites to be followed.
    Regards,
    Chandra.

    Chandra,
Well, no other pre-reqs than normal - you'll need to get the guide for WAS640 J2EE only.
This is fairly stratght forward actually. I assume you have a production client set-up on this ECC box - like a client 100, 500, whatever,
Make sure your hardware can handle this - you'll need 1.5GB min of RAM (not SWAP) to enable a J2EE instance.
Other than that, grab your installation master CD, the J2EE compoents CDs, and start SAPINST. Select the option for a J2EE add-on instance.
That's it. It's quite simple really.

  • How to change J2EE add-in client after install?

Our J2EE add-in to our ABAP NW04 system was accidentally specified to use client 000, so now the UME shows users from client 000.  How can we redirect this after the installation has been completed?

    Hi Dave,
to change the client to which UME connects to you have to start the configtool found at \usr\sap\<SID>\<Instance>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat or .sh depending on your OS. When prompted for DB connection say yes. After that use the last button on the menu which says "switch to configuration editor mode" in it's tooltip. You will see a tree. move the tree down to cluster_data -> server -> cfg -> services -> Propertysheet com.sap.security.core.ume.service open that one in editing mode by pressing the button with the pencil first and then doubleclick the entry "Propertysheet..." in the popup navigate to ume.r3.connection.master.client and change the value from 000 to whatever client you need it to connect to. you have to restart the server after that.
The same thing can be done from the Admin tool but then the Server needs to be up and running. From configtool you only need to have the database running.

    Hi fahad !
i know this is common problem when u put j2ee.jar from ee sdk to ur local jdk extension ...now wht u have to is ...remove j2ee.jar from ur jdk's extension and restart the system..then simply start jdkee again .. i m sure no error will be waiting for u :)
