J2ee beta2 RH8.0 setup fails with segmentation violation

On my RedHat 8.0 Intel Linux, I unzipped the 103858908 bytes of j2eesdk-1_4-beta2-linux-eval.zip into a directory called j2ee_sdk_lin and executed the 'setup -console' command as per the Installation notes. But the setup aborts with segmentation violation. I tried running with/without -console invain. The requirements say that RH7.3 is supported, but I guess RH 8.0 should be OK for backward compatibility. Please help me ASAP.

Sorry, it works OK, after I did "su - root". I guess, I might have typed "su" earlier and got into that trouble.

I am trying to install certificate services on a windows 2008 server (R2 ENT SP1) with a PCIe nCipher HSM module installed on it. The version of nCipher SW is = 11.30. It is a RootCA, and I am trying to use a key that is already stored in the HSM (I
have done this before with a PCI HSM (older HW version)). I select “Use existing private key” and “Select an existing private key on this computer” on the wizard, then i change the CSP to nCipher and click on "search" the key I am looking for
appears and I select that one. I repeat, I have done this before and it works with a PCI HSM module.
The installation is finished before being prompted to insert the operator cards, and it ends with two errors:

As you can see, the container called ROOTCA, which is the one that I use during the installation, says it has no stored keys. While on the old server, it says it contains a key. Why is this happening? I dont know, I am copying the complete
key management folder from one server to another and initialize the security world with that folder as I always do, and i dont have any errors during this procedure.

I am trying to download & install Photoshop 6 but setup fails with "Installer failed to initialize Download Adobe Support Advisor" I then downloaded and ran the Support Advisor; it reported NO problems.
I can still can not load Photoshop 6!

Lw_jr01 to clarify when you are trying to install Photoshop CS6 you are receving the error message that the, "Installer Failed to Initialize." Is that correct? If so which operating system are you using?

I have found that a few others have experienced the same problem but found no solution, nor could come up with anything myself. If it is any hint, Event 40961 was logged in the Event Viewer around the same time on almost all installation attempts to be purely
conincidental:
The Security System could not establish a secured connection with the server
ldap/xxx.xxx/[email protected] No authentication protocol was available.
Both Windows Server and Exchange Server otherwise work OK, and do not recall any issues with Cumlative Update 1 installation.

Based on my knowledge, the Event ID 40961 is a warning message.
This behavior occurs when we restart the server that was promoted to a DC. The Windows Time service tries to authenticate before Directory Services has started.

About the error message, "Setup encountered a problem while validating the state of Active Directory: Active Directory operation failed on . The supplied credential for 'XXX\Xxx' is invalid."
The error message InvalidCredentials means: the wrong password was supplied or the SASL credentials cannot be processed.

KJS crashes with Segmentation violation

We use IAS 6.0 SP2 under Solaris 2.8.
The KJS server crashes intermittently with Segmentation fault while running JavaMail APIs.

Firefox setup fails with WIN ME

I have tried to install Firefox 3.5 and 8 on a Win ME system - both fail with "Setup causes an error in Setup". Firefox 2 was okay. Messages from Firefox suggest an update is necessary,but I can't because setup does not work.
I also cannnot provide FEEDBACK - because it suggests I need "The latest version" which I cannot install "simply" as it suggests on the feedback page. Is this a probplem with ME - as other browsers like IE and Chrome latest versions do not seem to like it either....am I stuck with old versions?

E-Mail Setup fails with self-signed SSL certificat...

Hi, one of my e-mails is with a small provider who just moved the mail server to Imap and SSL. In Thunderbird, everything works fine, setup on my Nokia C-6-fails with an unspecific error message (and trows away the settings). I asked the provider, and it seems that the problem comes up because the Nokia e-mail application doesn't asked me if I want to accept the certificate but instead rejects it. Is there a workaround to this problem? Is there a way to setup the mail account without using the wizard? Or to take over the settings from Thunderbird? Or a way to put the certificate in the right place manually? In Opera mobile I have no trouble with self-signed SSL certificates. Thanks Cave

RAID 1 setup fails with POSIX error

I am trying to set up a RAID 1 array using 2 brand-new Iomega eGo 2TB Desktop Hard Drives. They are connected via Firewire 800, with the second connected to the first through Firewire pass-through. I'm on 10.6.8, on an iMac 9,1 with the 2.66Ghz Core 2 duo and 8GB RAM.
I complete all the steps to create the RAID array, add the drives to the array, select "Automatically rebuild RAID mirror sets", and when I hit "create", Disk Utility unmounts the disk, starts to create the array, and then gives me the following error.
Creating RAID set failed with the error:
POSIX reports: The operation couldn't be completed. Operation not permitted.
Am I doing something wrong in the setup? Does this mean one of the drives is a dud? Does this mean I can't create a RAID array with pass-through Firewire drives?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I ran the 1.1.1 upgrade this afternoon. I've been through the same process three times, but I was getting error 1602. Now when I unplug, reboot the Mac and reboot the phone, wait for everything to load, iPhoto recognizes the camera/pictures, but iTunes does not recognize the iPhone, and when it does, I get the spinning color wheel until I'm told that my iPhone timed out (or I get the error message above again). I've not hacked the iPhone, and even though iTunes isn't recognizing it, the phone is as fully functional as it was before the ill fated upgrade.
There is a support article but it appears to be geared towards Windows.

Setup fails with outlook 2007

Hi,
Is iCloud 3 not compatable with outlook 2007? I am running windows 7 32 bit with outlook 2007. My contacts stopped syncing with my iphone. I signed out of iCloud and back in. Set up now fails with "your setup failed to start due to an unexpected error" then setup crashes. I have removed iCloud, Outlook and removed the .me pst file from the local folder. Reinstalled Outlook, icloud and then tried setup again and saddly the same error comes up.
Is there anyway to get icloud 2?

Simple VPN Setup Fails with "NOTIFY PROPOSAL_NOT_CHOSEN protocol"

Hi,
This is pulling my hair out! Must be overlooking something very simple!
Simple lab setup with 3 routers. VPN setup between R1 & R3 with static routing. R2 connects R1 & R3. All interfaces are reachable, including loopbacks. I am trying to encrypt traffic between loopback on R1 (69.69.69.69) to loopback on R3 (192.168.100.223).
With no Crypto Map applied to outgoing interfaces on R1 and R3 ping is successful (sourced via local loopback) between the loopbacks. As soon as I add the Crypto Map the same ping fails and and I get the following debug messages.

Hi Paul,
"processing NOTIFY PROPOSAL_NOT_CHOSEN protocol 3" indicates the remote VPN peer rejected the phase 2 proposal.
The configuration snippet you have shared here seems fine, ISAKMP and IPSec debugs (debug crypto isakmp and debug crypto ipsec) from the remote VPN peer will be helpful in troubleshooting further.

Flex3 Beta2 - Resource build fails with locale other than en_US

Attempting to build a resource SWF for a locale other than
en_US fails as follows. This built fine with Flex3 Beta1. Same
command with en_US works fine.
Any suggestions?

edit the flex_config file. What change(s) need to be made to that
file for this case?
2) Following the directions in the Flex 3 Features
Introduction: Runtime Localization" document on the Adobe site I
attempted to run the following command:
copylocale.exe en_US fr_FR
This fails, however, with the following eror:

Are there files missing from the kit or do I need to pull

Imaging fails with segmentation fault on file NoName$####

Hi,
Trying to take an image of a system and continue to run into this
error, though it occurs in various different folders during the imaging
process.
server is running Zenworks Imaging 6.5 not sure on SP level
have tried PXE on disk, as well as the Zen 7 imaging boot CD.
defragging and checkdisk just change where the error occurs, but it is
always at a file called NoName$ (and a number at the end of it)
Any help would be appreciated.

Have run chkdsk afew times, will try again and see if it reports
errors. will also try some networking adjustments (put it on the same
switch as server, replace cables, etc)

TFS 2012 Setup failes

I am trying to run a test installation of TFS for testing purpose.
The Setup fails with the following error:
TF400534: Zwischenspeicherung von Paket (tfs:objectmodel_x64) ist mit folgendem Stauts fehlgeschlagen: 0x80070001. HRESULT: 0x80070001
Error Lookup For 0x80070001 returnes: Incorrect function.
System is a not activated Windows 2008 R2 Server Std. Ed. SP 1 (temporary validation system for this testing purpose).
What is wrong here?
