j2sdkee1.3.1 with j2sdk1.4.0 works good for me, but
on Windows NT 4.0SP6. Don't know on W2K.hi Martin,
Thanks a lot.
Actually there were problems during deployment of ejb
applications too. java.exe was generating errors, and were
raising NamingExceptions during run.
The gnumake utility I was running, for the deployment, reported
" Error5 " during this.. which I think is something similar to
I/O Error..
Anyway I tried using j2sdk1.4.0_01 , the latest release .,
and till now these errors have not reoccured.
Now I assume this was due to some problem with the j2sdk1.4.0
since the latest jdk seems to have solved it..
Thanks again.

  • JAXB with j2sdk1.4.2_06

    Has anyone used JAXB with j2sdk1.4.2_06?
    If yes, can you please provide the instructions?
    Someone told me that JAXB only works with java1.5.

    They dont run on Ms Jvm is the answer.
    The -target 1.1 flag does work, but only if you do not include any other classes that were pre-compiled with the later version of javac.
    I am now using the jdk1.1.8 to compile for Ms Jvm.
    Does anyone have a JSObject archive that will work with the Ms Jvm (I have tried extracting the classes from the java40.jar but it doesnt work)?

    Error is Thrown only with Scrollable Result set and with j2sdk1.4.0_01

    Did you forget to put the SQL statement in when you used createStatement? I added it below:
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("Jdbc:Odbc:IMSMC","sa","");
    String sql="select * from <Table Name> ";
    Statement stmt=conn.createStatement(sql, ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE,ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);
    Does the JDBC-ODBC bridge driver accomodate any of these settings you're trying?
    The problem shouldn't have anything to do with Tomcat. Sounds like a JDBC driver issue to me. Try to reproduce the error without Tomcat, and then see if adding the SQL corrects things at all.
    I'd read the docs to see if the bridge driver has these features. I don't think it's up to the full standard.

  • RMI problem with j2sdk1.4

    Hi,
    I have written a simple Ping program, to exercise me with RMI, this program worked fine with jdk1.3, now I have downloaded j2sdk1.4 and I have installed it, I runned the RMI program but now I have a run-time error message.
    Could you explain me what can be happened?
    Thanks a lot

    The error message + stacktrace would help...
    did you also compile with jdk1.4 or just execute with the jre shipped with 1.4?

  • Problem with J2SDK1.4.0

    hi, I just installed the J2SDk1.4.0 on my computer everything went ok but I have problems to open the html files, even with the included examples of Java itself. Every time it tells me the class (of the example) cannot be found, althoug it is in the same directory. with the appletviewer it works (f.e. appletviewer XXX.html), but if I just open the html-file it won't work. I already tried to set the class path (in autoexec.bat, and in explorer the virtual machine is on)to the directory where javac.exe,..... are but it doesn't help.
    does anyone know what I have to do because it is a little urgent to find a sollution.

    Do not set classpath to the directory that contains javac.exe, that will not help. Classpath must point to the directory that contains your class files. Be sure to include the current directory (".") in the classpath:
    set CLASSPATH=.

  • Does easyIO.* package come with j2sdk1.4.2_04, Win32?

    ...My first post.
    -Hello everyone.
    I have installed and compiled and executed some small *.java files with great success. I'd be very happy if someone knew how to install this package, or got some clues where to look. Thanks in advance and thanks alot.
    [Klokker.java]
    import easyIO.*;
    class Klokker {...}
    [javac says:]
    c:\tools\......\j2sdk1.4.2_04\bin\javac Klokker.java
    Klokker.java:1: package easyIO does not exist
    import easyIO.*;
    ^

    No, easyIO is not a part of the standard J2SDK. Where did you get it from? Software development libraries usually come with documentation that explains how to install and use them (e.g. a text file called "README" or "INSTALL")
    If you happen to speak Norwegian you can find some instructions here:
    http://www.universitetsforlaget.no/java/easyIO.php

  • Class not found with j2sdk1.4.2_04 but no problem with MS VM

    Hi.
    there is an application on my company's intranet hat has some applets. I installed the j2sdk1.4.2_04 and whenever I start the aplication it says "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException", but if i turn of the j2se for applets (on IE 6.0 sp1: tools>internet options>advances>uncheck use java 2 for ...) and use the microsoft VM the application works just fine.
    can someone help me???

    It seems your application uses classes from Microsoft, not only common classes (JDK 1.1.4). What the name of class in ClassNotFoundException?

    Why is OC4J looking in C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_04 instead of c:\j2sdk1.4.2_04?

    Thanks, Avi. I feel silly for overlooking this simple step. I added "c:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\bin" at the end of the PATH variable but that didn't work. When I moved it to the beginning, I finally got it to work.

  • Has anyone been able to get Forte on Linux with j2sdk1.4.0

    I am noticing a trend in the posts from people asking questions about setting up Forte on Linux. (1) Setting the JDK_HOME doesn't seem to work too well; (2) replies tend to reference old URL's or the vague URL's provided by SUN; (3) if not (2) then no reply at all.
    I was able to get Forte working with the JDK1.3.1, but setting JAVA_HOME with the sdk doesn't work with the same approach.
    Any ideas?
    Solution may be:
    If replies = 0 then JBuilder;

    I have my own solution. Jedit.

  • Deployment tool startup problem

    when I run my deploytool, I get an error message about:
    "initialization error looking for help set for help
    ... Starting deploytool with JavaHelp disabled"
    Then my dos window fills up with error messages that I can even read because they are going so fast. Anyone know of a solution to this sort of problem??
    Note: I am running JDK1.3, J2SDKEE1.3 on Windows 98 - J2EE server runs fine, Cloudscape runs fine, Deploytool not running.

    I am using J2SDKEE1.3.1 with J2SDK1.4 and had the same problem. This is what I did to fix it:
    In deploytool.bat change this line:
    set JAVA_HELP=%LIBDIR%\jh.jar
    to:
    set JAVA_HELP=%LIBDIR%\jhall.jar
    Hope it works for you.

  • J2sdk1.3 on redhat linux 7.3

    I recently installed j2sdk1.3.0 on redhat linux 7.3,
    but the problem is java or javac only runs when
    i used -green or -native parameters with
    it, without these parameters the system give the

    Is any way that I don't need to specify these

    I don't remember having this problem with j2sdk1.3.0 / Linux. What about using 1.3.1?

  • Problem with behavior of the Thread Context ClassLoader on OC4J 10.1.3.2.0

    Hi,
    We run into different behavior of the Thread Context ClassLoader on OC4J 10.1.3.1.0 (which is OK) and OC4J 10.1.3.2.0 (here we have problems). It appeared in the Threads directly and indirectly (e.g. through Timer) created by our application. Threads, created by OC4j (e.g. the Thread, where our start-up servlet are running) are OK.
    Thread Context ClassLoader (could be received from Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader()) on OC4J 10.1.3.1.0 in all threads is the same ClassLoader instance as the current ClassLoader (could be received from getClass().getClassLoader()). Actually the same is true for JBoss, WebLogic and WebSphere.
    Thread Context ClassLoader on OC4J 10.1.3.2.0 is NOT the same ClassLoader instance as the current ClassLoader, it is even the instance of the different Class. This ClassLoader does not see classes, available at application level, which causes multiple problems.
    Is it possible to configure OC4J 10.1.3.2.0 to behave similar to OC4J 10.1.3.1.0?
    We tried to use “–userThreads”, but it did not help.
    To investigate this problem we created a simple Web Application, which has Start-up Servlet, creates one thread and one Timer Task. From each point it is checking if Thread Context ClassLoader is the same ClassLoader instance as the current ClassLoader and printing Class Loaders if they are different. In addition it checks if correct parser accessed (should be xerces, which is in the Web App classpath and for which we added a shared library). Below you could see what we received on OC4J 10.1.3.1.0 (which is OK) and OC4J 10.1.3.2.0:

    Sorry for confusion, version of OC4J does not really meter, but jdk does. It happened that in the case where everything OK (OC4J 10.1.3.1.0) I accidentally used jdk 1.5. Now I tried both (OC4J 10.1.3.1.0 and OC4J 10.1.3.2.0) with j2sdk1.4.2_14 (besides I tried j2sdk1.4.2_09 and _08) and j2sdk1.5.0_06.
    With JDK 1.5 everything is OK and with JDK 1.4 we have a problem, described in the previous posting. I believe now I should reformulate my initial question:
    Is it possible to configure OC4J 10.1.3 running under j2sdk1.4.2_14 to force Thread Context ClassLoader to behave similar to OC4J 10.1.3 under j2sdk1.5.0_06? If yes, how we could do it?
    Thanks

  • Issue in JSF1.1 with jdk1.4...

    Hi All,
    I am facing a very peculiar issue. I am using JSF 1.1 with j2sdk1.4.2_10 and Tomcat 5.5.7. JSF Expression language is giving me some puzzling errors
    if I say
    value="#{varList.AInfo.BInfo.someName}
    mapped in a datatable tag like this, where varList is the ArrayList we are mapping the table to, Ainfo is a TreeMap inside it, BInfo is a TreeMap inside AInfo, and someName is a property, it complains saying that "error retrieving property someName"....This happens only on j2sdk1.4.2_10, it was working fine (it still works fine) on j2sdk1.4.2_04. I just need to change the JAVA_HOME environment variable, and the problem surfaces.
    I cannot use j2sdk1.4.2_04 because it results in a core dump elsewhere (the reason I upgraded to j2sdk1.4.2_10).
    is this a bug in JSF, or something in j2sdk1.4.2_10 that is causing it to fail?
    Can anyone help me with this?

    Oracle JDBC 11R1. If you are still using J2SE 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4 you can continue to use Oracle JDBC 10.2.0.1.0 with those versions of Java. 10gR2 is still fully supported for use with those versions
    of Java. If you want to use Oracle JDBC 11R1 you must use J2SE 5.0 or later. Using desuported version might result in errors and inconsistent performance.

  • Problem with sql TRIM in PL/SQL package in version 10.1.3.3

    I'm getting invalid token on the trim functions in the following function. The package compiles ok in TOAD, and this package worked fine in the previous version of jdeveloper I was using--10.1.3
    FUNCTION stu_pidm (
    p_profile_name IN VARCHAR2
    RETURN NUMBER
    IS
    v_pidm NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    BEGIN
    SELECT s.szbstdn_pidm
    INTO v_pidm
    FROM szbstdn s
    WHERE trim(s.szbstdn_profile_name) = trim(p_profile_name);
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    RETURN NULL;
    END;
    RETURN v_pidm;
    END;

    Thanks

  • Help with Debugger

    I am having trouble using a debugger... I used it at one time but I forgot how to use it. The debugger I am using is the jdb that came with j2sdk1.4.0. What command would I give if I wanted to dump the variable testInt? What about testInt2?
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class testClass
    static testComponent testcomponent = new testComponent();
    public static void main()
    class testComponent extends JComponent
    public testComponent() {}
    public int testInt = 4;
    int testInt2 = 9;
    }

    jdb testClass
    stop at testComponent:12 (use the line number)
    stop in testClass.testClass (use the functionName)
    run
    print testInt
    cont
    next
    step
