J2SE Bluetooth Server (Using Bluecove)

Hi there
I am trying to set up a simple bluetooth server, one that simply accepts a message/string, and am using the Bluecove API for windows. However, I am having a little bit of trouble setting one up, and what documentation and examples I have found are quite complex, and usually deal with OBEX and the like, which I do not need.
I have a J2ME bluetooth server written, that works (on an emulator at least, doesn't seem to like actual devices, but whatever), and am wondering how much "jiggling about" it will need to port it over to J2SE functionality.

Hey ftr2k5,
I've got the same issue:
- My server (same code as yours) is working on my J2ME phone
- I translated this midlet into J2SE code
- For J2SE code server, I use the Bluecove Avatena package. The server seems to work until the line:
      conn = notifier.acceptAndOpen();            but never get out of this method
Did you find out how to proceed?
Thx, Regis.

  • J2SE Bluetooth API

    Hello,
    Im working on a project where I have to build a bluetooth server to connect Mobiles to it.
    The problem I have is to find an API to use bluetooth under J2SE. It seems to be easy to find that for J2ME, but not for J2SE.
    I found something on benhui.net, but Im not sure if this is the best solution.
    Does someone have experiences with something like that?
    I would be very happy to have an API for Win AND Linux. I think I will try the solution from benhui.net, but perhaps someone has a better idea.
    And what about a Linux API? I found that JBluez at sourceforge, but this project seems to be dead (nothing happened there for about 2 years).

    You can map the BT to a COM port on your machine using an adapter software (usually comes with the BT package) and then use APIs that uses the Java COMM API to connect to mobiles that are already connected to the machine via this adapter. such APIs like JSMS authored by http://www.objectxp.com/
    this is not the propper place to post this question, since there is a froums related to the wireless fields at http://forums.java.sun.com/wireless
    GoodLuck

  • J2SE Bluetooth Programming-connecting PC to  a Bluetooth Eanbled Phone

    Hi
    Iam trying to connect my PC (USB Bluetooth Dongle connected)   to a Bluetooth Phone,
    need to transfer some files using Bluetooth
    There are Sufficeient information on J2ME Bluetooth Programming,
    Does anybody know of a tutorial on J2SE bluetooth programming?
    Kindly Reply,

    There is no spec for Bluetooth in JSE. However, there are implementations of the JSR-82 spec (for JME) on the Standard platform. Off hand I can only recall BlueCove. Might be a good start.

  • How to make integrated weblogic server use log4j

    Hi all,
    I use Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6, WL 10.3 on Win7. JDK 1.6.0.3x64
    I tried to configure for 1 day during according to guides and informations on net. But i can not make it works unfortunately. Just after i start wls, encountered this:
    <14-12-2012 10:42:00 o'clock EET> <Error> <Log Management> <BEA-170022> <Log4j failed to initialize for DefaultServer. The default JDK Logging implementation will be used.

    I followed up basically through those links log4j Configuration in Standalone Weblogic Server - ADF and http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15051_01/wls/docs103/logging/config_logs.html#using_log4j
    I changed Logging implementation as Log4j from JDK: http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=72YU
    I created log4j.xml file under my %DOMAINHOME%\config : http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=JHLI
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?><!DOCTYPE log4j:configuration SYSTEM "log4j.dtd">

    <level value="DEBUG"/>
    <appender-ref ref="FILE"/>
    <!-- <appender-ref ref="CONSOLE"/> -->
    </root>
    </log4j:configuration>
    i copied log4j.jar, wllog.jar into my %DOMAINHOME%\lib : http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=BYB3
    Even i copied commons-logging-1.0.4.jar and com.bea.core.weblogic.commons.logging_1.4.0.0.jar files into the lib folder and then i set CLASSPATH accordingly, result was negative.
    I added these lines into startWeblogic.cmd
    @REM customized here for log4j
    set LOG4J_CONFIG_FILE=%DOMAIN_HOME%\config\log4j.xml
    set SAVE_JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS% -Dweblogic.log.Log4jLoggingEnabled=true -Dlog4j.debug -Dlog4j.configuration=%LOG4J_CONFIG_FILE%
    set SAVE_CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%DOMAIN_HOME%\config;
    Additionally, i have tried adding log4j.jar into sysyem classpath becuse of classloading problem suspicion: http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=7Y3N after view this link http://www.coderanch.com/t/479763/BEA-Weblogic/Log-Weblogic-ClassNotFoundException
    Thanks in advance...

    I resolved the exception; Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 was setted up on my pc as well. That was the cause of problem. System was looking some paths on 11.1.1.4 server folders that belong to 11.1.14 version.
    Now, created server log which i defined in log4j.xml but no log line found in file, nothing logged according to log4j.xml config file and wls still writes its own log into its own log file which is under $domain_home$\servers\DefaultServer\logs\DefaultServer.log. What might be the reason?

    i try to use jfreechart to create a piechart on a aix os with jdk1.3.1 and the aix system does not have a xwindow installed

    i got the tip of passing -Djava.awt.headless=true to vm to disable system graphic calls but after restart weblogic i still get the same error
    i am wondering if this case has something to do with jdk 1.3.1, and perhaps newer versions of jdk can take the parameter and operate correctly
    is that right?

    is headless option supported in jdk1.3.1?No,
    It was added in JDK 1.4:

  • Building a simple J2ME chat client (for own J2SE-based server) Threading Qs

    Hi!
    I am making my own simple chat / messenger service to use between a couple of friends over GPRS.
    On the server side i have made a multi threaded TCP server that opens a new thread for each connecting client and stores these socket connections in a hashtable for access to send data between each thread.
    So when a client logs on to the server, the server sends a printwriter message to all other clients informing them of what client connected, and the clients can put the username in its out-database. then the clients can send messages to each others using a simple, self build protocol.
    All connection between clients/server happens over a simple printwriter on in/out streams.
    Problem is: it works perfectly most of the time.... However, sometimes a message is mysteriously lost when transferred from the server to a client. Transfer from client to server works flawlessly. I am thinking that it might have something to do with the client side threading, or slow network transfer casuing a TCP read error.
    Client structure is as following:
    start-> Midlet class -> (press connect to server) -> new Client class (impl runnable) -> new thread(this) -> void run() sets up all connections and writers, waits in a while loop for messages from server and takes action according to message type. -> Button(send) uses output stream to send a message to server.
    Do anyone have any suggestions on what I must consider when making a client that will simultaniously be able to listen for data from server as well as send data to server over 1 socket and slow mobile connection without causing any trouble?
    More info can be provided if necessary.
    Thank you!

    Building a simple J2ME chat client (for own J2SE-based server)a. i would like to say that this is a bl00dy brilliant idea. i mean ~ its been done before but building one yourself is quite thrilling.
    b. are u using java 4 or java 5. ?
    sometimes a message is mysteriously lost when transferred from the server to a client. Transfer from client to server works flawlessly.are you using push registry to recieve incoming connections.
    i recommend using a StreamConnectionNotifier connection instead of just a socket connection. you could send your data (xml/plain text) just like a stream (tcp ofcourse). if you want to know how to use a StreamConnectionNotifier connection, here's how
    try{
    // listen at local port 789
    StreamConnectionNotifier notify = (StreamConnectionNotifier) Connector.open(“http://:789”);
    // infinite loop to get incoming connections
    for(;;)
    StreamConnection stream = notify.acceptandOpen();  // return a stream connection when a connection is made
    InputStrean mystream = stream.openInputStream();
    while(mystream!=-1)
    mystream.read();
    ....cheers

    The Customer says, the Firewall is open with the IP Adresses and P4 Port but i dont think so...
    Can everybody help me, or have tips for me! I have checked a lot of OSS Messages (PI High Availabilty etc... its all correct on the System)
    Sorry for my bad English
    Best Regards,
    Markus

    Hi Markus,
    did you check if the browser is using a proxy? (In this case your scenario unfortunately won't work).
    P4-port should generally be routed via a proxy (described in the help.sap.com), but within the PI-Tools(JNLP) the proxy-usage is not implemented.  There is even a SAP-note that describes how to check the JavaWebStart-Proxyconfiguration, but this won't help either.
    If there is a proxy defined in the browser everything is working fine till you pass the logon-screen but even with the correct "javaws"-settings you won't be able to go on.
    (This problem is pretty bad if you do have developers and the SAP-servers seperated because of security issues. I'm hoping that this malfunction will be solved with upcoming patches.)
    Solution: Establish a connection without any proxy in between.
      E.g.: a terminal server in the same network
    It would be helpful to find more people with the same problem to force a fix from SAP for that.
    If anyone else is having problems with this, please add a comment to this thread.
    Best regards
    Christian

    Microsoft make a jdbc driver and it is readily available through MSDN. Here is a link http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/data/aa937724.aspx. Whatever jdbc driver you are looking for, Google it, and if it exists you'll find it in 10 seconds.

  • Process TIFF file from FTP server using File/FTP adapter

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to process a scanned document TIFF file from a directory on an FTP server using the File/FTP adapter and process through XI into a Web Service via a receiver SOAP adapter.
    My question is can the file/FTP adapter be used to process the TIFF file into XI from an FTP server ? Also, what settings need to be made on the file adapter to allow this file to be processed into XI ?
    Thanks in advance

    How do I delete mail from the server using my Ipad

    That completely depends on your email service provider.
    For gmail, for example, you would do this as follows:

    Hi
    In BO 4.0 SP 9 when a administrator tries to schedule a report via CMC there is no error
    But when a user schedules a report and the destination is FTP location -> Use default settings he gets following error
    Destination disabled. []: [CrystalEnterprise.Ftp]. Please note the name of the job server used for your request and contact your system administrator to make sure the specified destination is enabled. (FWB 00031)
    There is only one Job Server and the destinations are enabled in it
    There is no Job server for Crystal Reports Job Server
    Do i need to create it and how.

    Please check if you have proper rights to schedule to FTP. You can create a new job server, whenever you schedule it, there are multiple job servers, it will handle based on the load. But it is not mandatory, depends on the load.
