JAAS Custom Login Modules does not run on JDev/OC4J 10.1.3, pls help...

Hi all,
I trying to use Custom Login Modules as described on :
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/jaassec/index.htm
I open the DBLMTest.jws in JDeveloper 10.1.3.1, after completing the required steps, I try deploy it into OC4J Stand alone 10.1.3.
I get ERROR :
application : foo is in failed state
Operation failed with error:
java.lang.InstantiationException
The cause of the error is the two lines below that I add into orion-application.xml :
<property name="role.mapping.dynamic" value="true"/>
<property name="jaas.username.simple" value ="true" />
If I remove the two lines, it deploys succesfully.
Please helpp... I have to implement security in our apps very soon....
Thank you very much,
xtanto

Hello there again xtanto,
I blogged about this last year - perhaps you could run over to http://stegemanoracle.blogspot.com and have a look. I'd send you the exact link, but I cannot access blogspot from work.

  • Custom Login Module Does Not  Work

    Hello,
    Can someone give me some suggestions on what I should look at to fix the following error.  I created jaas custom login module.  Within the module I authenticate against an active directory.  I've put many trace statements throughout the login module code.  So I can actually follow everystep of the way through the login process.  The user authenticates correctly and in the commit() method of the login module, the security principal is created and added to the principals and true is returned from the method.  Everything looks like it worked correctly... but the user doesn't actually get into the portal.  The login screen is redisplayed.  This login module is the only login module in the stack being used to authenticate.  According to the tracing, everything should of worked.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should look at?
    thanks,
    Keith
    NW04 SP14

    Marcel,
    The reason we are using a custom login is we want to handle different situations when logging in, for example, if a password is expired we re-direct to a change password page that allows the user to update their password.
    In our EP6 sp2 environment, this is working.  I then recoded the login module so it would work in NW04, be we are having no luck.
    Here is the weird thing, it works on some userid's but not on others.  For example, with a userid like "kjanks" it works fine.  But with a userid like "t.portal08" it fails, then your back at the login screen with the userid field displaying the userid, but the password field is empty. You can then click the login button again without doing anything else and then it works and you get in the portal.  So it seems like the "." in the one userid is causing trouble.
    Any Ideas?
    thanks,
    Keith

  • I get unexpectedly logged out from my mail box and and recieve the following message: "The custom error module does not recognize this error."

    I am repeatedly and unexpectedly logged-out from my mail box when working on a document. It frequently happens when I choose Send or Save, but it could happen any time. The file that I worked on disappears completely. Before, the file could be found in the draft box or some other place categorized as Auto Recovery. Now, instead, I get the following message: "The custom error module does not recognize this error." I am working at home, connected to a university server. The same problem appears with both of my computers, which are connected by a router. I have a MacBook Pro and am working with Firefox 6.0.2. I have a wireless broadband connection with Internet. AirPort is connected to Lindstrom and has IP address 192.168.0.198. Router: D-Link Model DIR-635. Modem: ZyXEL Model No. 660H D Triple Play Modem.

    Hi Phil,
    Generally, when a user sends an incoming request to an Exchange 2010 Client Access server using Outlook Web App and the user’s mailbox is on an Exchange 2010 mailbox in a different Active Directory site,
    Exchange 2010 determines whether the Client Access server has the
    ExternalURL property set in that Active Directory site. If it is and the cross-site silent redirection has been enabled, the user will be automatically redirected to the specified URL.
    Thus, please make sure the External URL property is set properly in your environment. And also
    disable the WindowsAuthentication for OWA VD to have a try. If the issue persists, please try the following KB to reset the Outlook Web Access-related virtual directories:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941201
    Thanks,

    TechNet Community Support
    Sorry for the late reply.  Yes, the ExternalURL is set; otherwise, it wouldn't work at all.  98% of the time everything is fine.
    My issue described a problem that appears only during session timeouts.  I've pretty much verified that this is the case; Exchange 2010 does not appropriately handle the timeouts sometimes when using cross-site redirection.

  • I have purchased the whatsapps via credit card today at USD0.99 but it does not apprear in my iphone 5 yet. Pls help!

    It's not in my purchased item list too~! Pls help~! Thanks

    Disconnect your devices then reboot your computer.
    Before connecting your devices again reboot your devices. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

        <application-policy name="simpleLoginModule">

    The problem is that when i type correct username/password happens the error:
    HTTP Status 403 - Access to the requested resource has been denied
    So can anyone help me? What i have to change/modify in my loginmodule java code?

    Hi,
    no need to change the authschemes.xml file when you don't know if your code works (you can perfectly break logon to other applications when doing so).
    Configure your application to use declarative authentication; this is done in the web.xml of the application:
    http://help.sap.com/SAPhelp_nw70/helpdata/en/08/0f0e4d1ffece4d8b9c5b84793aac50/content.htm
    http://help.sap.com/SAPhelp_nw70/helpdata/en/40/97ffdb74939747b402b0200780cab5/content.htm
    http://help.sap.com/SAPhelp_nw70/helpdata/en/b9/9482887ddb3e47bd1a738c3e900195/content.htm
    example:
         <login-config>
              <auth-method>FORM</auth-method>
              <realm-name>REALM</realm-name>
              <form-login-config>
                   <form-login-page>logon.jsp</form-login-page>
                   <form-error-page>error.jsp</form-error-page>
              </form-login-config>
         </login-config>
    With declarative authentication the AS Java will use the logon modules you confired in the VA for the application.

  • Missing saplicense.exe. NSP does not run anymore. No install CD.  Any help?

    Hi, I'm very new in this SAP world. I downloaded the NSP to play with it a little bit but I didn't realize when my license expired. Now I cannot login in the system and the only available instructions I've found specifies to use a saplicene.exe program that does not exist in any directory. I don't have the install CD. Any help?
    please respond to my email: [email protected]
    Regards,
    Herman

    I found out how to do it:
    1.-I used SAP* / minisap to log in
    2.-Click on install button (this shows the HWID key!!!)
    3.-Go to http://www.sap.com/minisap
    4.-Fill all information (leave the "System number" field blank)
    5.-Check on "I agree" (for the agreement)
    6.-Click on submit

  • Brand new Shuffle does not play any music ! Cannot debug it pls help !

    I checked everything :
    My XP run very well the compressed music.
    I can see the music files stored in Shuffle
    Battery is fine...
    But no music even, after reset etc...as per manual !
    This is the second Shuffle I bought in a week and I already returned the first

    This may help. I had exactly the same problem. Ipod plays o.k. via pc, but not through the earplugs.
    If this is the case, try this:
    Go to apple.com/ipod/download
    Choose relevant OS and download file.
    Now when I ran the file, it told me to reboot, I assumed this meant the installer had run. It hadn't!
    You then go into Start, Prog, ipod, ipod updater and run the new version. (Make sure ipod is plugged in). You should be given and option to restore. Click it and it will reformat and erase your ipod.
    I was at my wits end before I did this and spent hours trying to sort this out.
    BTW there is a problem with your ipod if the green light is permanently on at the top on the front of the ipod. Mine was and now isn't.
    Hope this sorts your problems out.

  • Custom login module - Not invoked...

    Hi All
    I have developed a custom login module and the necessary configuration steps in VA are performed. However, the custom login module is not called...
    1. Developed a Java DC as a Child DC in a Library DC.
    2. Added all the relevant jars needed as Used DC and Public Parts as required. Also updated the provider.xml with relevant references.
    3. Build and Deployed. (No errors found here..)
    4. In VA - Created a new Login Module.... updated the property LoginModuleClassLoaders to library:xyz where xyz is the name of the folder for deployed sda as found in cluster\j2ee\serverx\bin\ext...next updated the config tool for the same.... next modified the sap.com/irj*irj authentication as:
    Basic - Requisite
    CustomModule - Optional.
    Then performed server restart. Yet, login module not called. Any ideas as to where I am going wrong..?? (In my login module, just trying to retrieve the user name and change their attributes like lastname etc... )
    Thanks
    Deepak

  • Custom login module with 10.1.3

    Hello all,
    I've been trying out Frank N's custom login module (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/jaassec/index.htm) with JDev 10.1.3/OC4J 10.1.3 and am not having much luck.
    Whenever I add <property name="role.mapping.dynamic" value="true"/> to orion-application.xml, the application fails to deploy with java.lang.InstantiationException. I even get this error when I try to set up a custom login module using the enterprise manager for OC4J 10.1.3. Is this a bug, or does the doc need to be updated? Without this item configured, I do get the basic login prompt, but no logging or anything - which indicates to me that the custom login module is not even being called. Nothing on metalink either.
    Thanks,
    John

    hmm i dont know... custom login module (db authentication) definitely works with standalone 10.1.3.0.0 and jdevloper standalone, but it doesnt work with jdev embeded oc4j (jdevstudio1013\jdev\system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.36.73\embedded-oc4j)
    i have the code, and it works.. however the application is entirerly made in jdev 10.1.3.04 production, it is not migrated from previous jdev.. make sure to deploy from war file (i have prob to deploy from ear)
    the only big problem i got is to setup ssl in separate oc4j standalone (ssl works with jdev standalone) and make client athentication to work
    because it wont run as it should.. (i did not have this prob in 10.1.2.1)

  • Custom Login Module and failover

    I'm trying to figure out how to handle authentication when failover from one OC4J to another occurs. I have a custom login module using the example provided by Frank Nimphius (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/jaassec/index.htm)
    I see different results for this "external" custom login module than for either JAZN file store or for the built-in DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule that comes with OC4J and am wondering why.
    Scenario 1 - File authentication using JAZN file store
    Results: Works well.
    Failover works and when failover occurs, the login page is not displayed. (no 2nd login is required).
    Scenario 2 - Custom login module using DB store through the OC4J built-in DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule
    Results: Works well.
    Failover works and when failover occurs, the login page is not displayed. (no 2nd login is required).
    Scenario 3 (problematic scenario) - Custom login module using DB store through an external login module (not in OC4J). I used the DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule from Frank
    Nimphius with no modifications for this test.
    Results: Failover works. But when failover occurs, the login page is displayed and the user has to login again. Question: Why doesn't failover also cover the authentication as in the previous 2 scenarios?
    Note: I tried to fix this by adding Java_sso. This does appear to take care of having to log in a second time but raises new issues. One is that authentication is called for every request. Then after the failover occurs, I see a log message indicating the login module aborted but authentication appears to succeed regardless.

  • SOAP Web Service +  Custom Login Module issue

    Hi Guys,
    We faced an authentication issue in our project. Could you please give any advice how the issue could be resolved.
    Environment: A simple SOAP Web Service on top of POJO class created in a Web Application. The web application deployed to the SAP NetWeaver 7.10 Application Server in the Enterprise Application Archive.
    Configuration:
          Single Service Administration Application(NetWeaver Administration -> SOA Management -> Application and Scenario Communication -> Single Service Administration)
           The web service endpoint has authentication configured to use User ID/Password HTTP Authentication.
        Authentication Application(NetWeaver Administration-> Configuration Management->Security->Authentication)
          The application(<vendorName>/<earName>*<vendor>~<webAppName>) has Authentication Stack configured to use our custom login module.
    Issue:  BasicPasswordLoginModule used by the J2EE when we are trying to execute the web service using Web Service Navigator(checked in debug mode). It seems that we missed something in configuration.
    Idea: The main Idea is to use our custom login module when we are executing a web service.
    Could you help me to resolve the issue.
    Thanks,
    Dmitry

    That's the point.

  • Custom login module Authentication works but Authorization Does not work

    Hi:
    I am using custom login module and switched on the ADF authentication using adf-config.xml file. My custom authentication works i.e. it returns true but when it finally tries to display the page 401 Unauthorized message is shown. I am using JDev 10.1.3.2.
    Is there any other settings I need to perform. Could you please let me know.

  • Callbacks does not work in custom login module

    Hi,
    We are upgrading portal from 7.01 to 7.31. I am working on custom login module.
    I am using NameCallBack, PasswordCallback and httpcallback  (prior to upgrade used webCallback which is deprecated in 7.31)
    All these three callbacks works fine in our sandbox which uses Portal Database as UME, But same code fails and returns NULL for callbacks in Dev system where we use Active Directory.
    //In initialize(Subject subject, CallbackHandler callbackHandler, Map sharedState, Map options)
    super.initialize(subject, callbackHandler, sharedState, options);
    this.callbackHandler = callbackHandler;
    // in logion()
    NameCallback nameCallback = new NameCallback("User name: ");
    PasswordCallback passwordCallback = new PasswordCallback("Password: ", true);
    try
      callbackHandler.handle(new Callback[] { nameCallback, passwordCallback });
    Any ideas will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dileep

    Should be fixed in 4.5.  Set mouseEnabled=true on the Panel

    Also, the logon module stack called "form" contains one and only one login module:  mycompany.com.CGLoginModuleClass    (REQUISITE)
    Here is also the code to my Login() method of my module:
         public boolean login() throws LoginException
              Exception exception_on_the_way = null;
              String passwordString = "";
              NameCallback nc = new NameCallback("User:");
              PasswordCallback pc = new PasswordCallback("Password:", false);
              Callback[] callbacks = new Callback[] { nc, pc };
              try
                   callbackHandler.handle(callbacks);
              catch (IOException e)
                   exception_on_the_way = e;
              catch (UnsupportedCallbackException e)
                   exception_on_the_way = e;
              String userid = nc.getName();
              char[] password = pc.getPassword();
              pc.clearPassword();
              if (userid.length() == 0)
                   throw new LoginException(MISSING_UID);
              else
                   userName = userid;
              if (password.length == 0)
                   throw new LoginException(MISSING_PASSWORD);
              else
                   passwordString = new String(password);
              try
                   refreshUserInfo(userName);
              catch (SecurityException e)
                   exception_on_the_way = e;
              if (exception_on_the_way != null)
                   //             A productive application should write an entry
                   //             into the trace here
                   exception_on_the_way.printStackTrace();
                   throw new LoginException("Could not handle callbacks");
              String eccLoginResult = "";
              //eccLoginResult = validateECCAuthentication(userName, passwordString);
              if (!eccLoginResult.equals(""))
                   //throwNewLoginException(eccLoginResult);
                   //throw new LoginException(USER_AUTH_FAILED);
                   throwNewLoginException("Wrong UserId/Password", LoginExceptionDetails.WRONG_USERNAME_PASSWORD_COMBINATION);
              else
                   successful = true;
              if (sharedState.get(AbstractLoginModule.NAME) == null)
                   sharedState.put(AbstractLoginModule.NAME, userName);
                   nameSet = true;
              return true;
    I set up a random iview in the portal to use our new authentication scheme: cglogon by changing the iview property Authentication Scheme.
    After clicking the logon button, My login() method gets called and sucessful is set to true.  Also the commit() method gets called.
    Problem: However, the screen gets redirected to the logon screen again...
    Here is the trace in the logs:
    Used Passport Type: 3
