Jar files............could do with some help

I want to deploy an application I have built along with the JRE it seems creating a JAR file is the way to go. Could somebody confirm this & advise of any other steps that I will need to take along the way. Please take it very SLOWLY and omit nothing.
I have attempted to create and run a JAR file but have met with failure so far let me explain where i am upto.
I have an application with several class files all data or code no image or sound files. class that contains the main method is called
"pStruct". have created a JAR file called "TelDir.jar" succesfully & checked that all required classes are their they are. Next have built the file "mainClass.txt" in notepad have been carefull to get the syntax & case correct & have entered newline before saving file.
Now i think i am merging the text file into the manifest of the jar file
with the line:-
jar cmf mainClass TelDir.jar pStruct.class
this results in an error message as follows
java.io.FilenotFoundException:main Class(System cannot find the file specified).
now I have tried adding .txt to the end of mainClass and the line seems
to execute happily but if i then try and run my amended jar file with:
java -jar TelDir.jar
I get the following response:-
Exception in thread "main" javac.lang.NoclassDef Found Error:GUIFrame
and a about 8 other lines of complaint.
("GUIFrame" being one of my classes in the jar file)
when building the jar file i have not stated each class individually but used the wild card. would this cause a problem. I have also made sure ALL files invloved are all in the same subdirectory.
COULD SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP I AM GETTING A BIT F.R.U.S.T.R.A.T.E.D AFTER MESSING WITH THIS FOR 6 HOURS TODAY!!!!. (calming down now ahhhhhh.)

Have discovered my mistake at the end of the line "jar cmf mainClass.txt TelDir.jar pStruct.class" pStruct is the class containing my main method as stated in the Manifest but it should read all of the classes required to make my application run or * the wildcard.
Things always seem clearer the following day.
When you say post the contents of the Manifest file how can i examine its contents or do you mean the contents of the text file.
Now i have my jar file how do i take this further to enable me to deploy my application along with the JRE onto another machine?

My sympathies are with you, I just wished I had checked the Toshiba forums before making my purchase. I too have run into the non existence of their customer service. i see you are having ram problems. the only ram that is compatible is kingston. anything else will either not work or you will be shipped the wrong thing and dont order from toshiba direct either there site is wrong more that it is right. if you ever have any questions in the future about ram for your laptop or someone elses the link is below.

Are you trying to log in to ExportPDF from Reader? If so, please make sure that you have the most current version by choosing Help > Check for Updates in Reader. You should be using version 11.0.07 (Mac OS) or 11.0.08 (Windows)--earlier versions caused this sign-in error that you're seeing.

I've got a shopping cart that is working and I'm trying to update the
quantities in inventory by subtracting the quantity ordered from the total
inventory in a table called ITEMS.
I can update a record after a sale in the cart, but right now it is
updating by completely replacing the value of the items in inventory with
the quantity in the checkout cart. So, if there are 800 items, after the
update, there are -1 total in inventory, not 799.
The problem is that I don't know how to coordinate the item(s) in the stored
shopping cart with a call to their ID and quantity in the online database.

Jar file import problem with ADF application

I am using Jdev 11g with integrated WLS. I have an ADF application and is trying to integrate JasperReport in it. I added the JasperReport JAR file in the project properties -> Libraries and Classpath, and checked it for "export" and "Deployed by Default'. I have my JasperReport codes in my managed bean

It appears that the JAR file is not picked up at the runtime correctly. I tried a simple Main class with the same codes and JAR file added, it works fine. Does anyone know what I am missing within the ADF application?

1. I checked The following folder (I assume this is where it supposes to be). The JAR file is there.
C:\Documents and Settings\MISSP29\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.1.33.54.07\o.j2ee\drs\ReentryApplication\ReentryApplication-ViewController-webapp\WEB-INF\lib
2. I did not do anything about deployment descriptor. Since I run my application within JDev integrated WLS, I did not do anything about deployment setting. Do I need do something with deployment descriptor if I want to import additional JAR files here? With my experience with 10g, to add a JAR file within JDev, all I need to do is to add it through project properties ->libraries.
3. I agree with your absolute path comment. This is a test of how JasperReport works with ADF application. I will work it out later.

Could I have some help identifying and fixing dead/stuck/hot pixel?

Hello, yesterday whilst watching a movie on my Macbook Pro I noticed something on my screen, at first I thought it was just something stuck on the screen but it seems to be an issue with a pixel. I would appreciate help regarding identifying if it's a dead, stuck or hot pixel and any ways of fixing it. It seems to be smaller than what I had previously experienced (on other machines) dead/hot/stuck pixels to be and I can't really tell if it's white or a light blue. It doesn't show up on any colour other than greys and blacks.
Also, is it likely that taking it to an apple store will yield results if it's still in warranty and I explain that as a photographer it's a very annoying thing to have on almost the centre of the screen.
I hope you guys can provide me with some help, it will be much appreciated.

That's a dead pixel or it may be dust, too. In both cases, as your computer is in warranty, take it to an Apple Store or reseller and you should get the display replaced for free, even if it's only one pixel.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's dust. I have seen a lot of cases related to dust in this forum, but it has got the same solution as the dead pixel

Install the v10.6.7 combo update here.
Restart your Mac after the update is installed.

No, Standard Calls and text messages (SMS) only require the normal Phone service.
You can turn off 3G/4G/LTE and Wifi and still be able to get and make calls and send and receive sms.

Your phone is damaged. Take it in to an Apple store for evaluation and possible out of warranty replacement.

That makes sense. You already have a Sync account with that email address, so it's already in use. I have a problem with making an executable JAR file.
I have written a JAVA program that consists of five different classes of which User.java is the main class and I have saved a text document with Main-Class: User and a blank line after that.
If I try:
jar cmf MainClass.txt User.jar User.class Beheerder.class Operator.class Manager.class MaakVisueelSchema.class
it makes a executable jar file which actually works! :)
But when the Operator class trys to open the MaakVisueelSchema class the screen stays blank.
I can run MaakVisueelSchema with java MaakVisueelSchema.
So I tried to make an executable JAR that consists only of MaakVisueelSchema, the same way as I did for User:
Main-Class: MaakVisueelSchema
jar cmf MainClass.txt MaakVisueelSchema.jar MaakVisueelSchema.class
Then I get the error message:
Could not find the main class. Program will exit.
from the Java Virtual Machine Launcher.
The big difference between MaakVisueelSchema and the other classes is that MaakVisueelSchema contains a PaintComponent method and an ComponentListener. Is it possible that one of those creates the error?
Can anyone help me with this problem?

jar xvf MaakVisueelSchema.jar
and it returns:

MaakVisueelSchema.classN/G. You need to manually create a manifest file in a text editor, have it point to your main class, and enter it in your jar command as an argument.

Jar file could not find main class.. I cant see why?

I have read loads of tutorials on this and it should be very straight forward but i STILL cant make a working jar file of my program.. please see if you can see anything wrong with what im doing..
my program is one .java file that compiles perfectly, and is runnable both through eclipse and by using the command prompt.. i made a jar file using both eclipse and the command prompt, and neither worked.. every time i run it by double clicking it i get the error "could not find main class, program will exit". here is the contents of my jar:

I have been working with Java satisfactorily for about two years.
Installed a bigger hard disk.
Installed Windows XP.
Downloaded java.
Downloaded java jdk 1.6.0_07
Downloaded java3d 1.5.2
Downloaded Eclipse Ganymede.
A new project, a new class with an existing and working java file. It did function in eclipse.
Generated a jar file with:
Export \ JAR FILE \ select files and the destination for the Jar file .....
... next...next filled the field Main Class
This generates the jar files, which have worked before.
And now the error: could not find the main class.

Executing a jar file means it will not read from the CLASSPATH environment variable. I learnt this the hard way a few weeks ago and I had to resort to different measures to work around it.
Your problem does sound weird, but check that the last line in your manifest file is a new line. If it's not, the manifest is not read and parsed correctly.
To test, do this: remove everything from the manifest that you don't need, except the Manifest-Version and Main-Class attributes. Make sure the last line is a new line, and see if it works.

I think my iMac is infected and could really use some help

I recently purchased an iMac for the 1st time and am having many pop ups, survey requests and emails sent from my account to people in my address book. I used the chat help that came up on the Apple support which was a 3rd party who did a diagnostic check on my computer. They told me my computer was infected and wanted to charge me $159 to fix it. I could really use some suggestions. I have heard that apple computers don't get infected but it appears mine did.

No infections. These are all scams you can ignore. I suggest that you enable your browser's pop-up blocker which will help with some of these annoyances. For more extensive preventions I recommend GlimmerBlocker.
