Java API for working with Pivot Tables...?

Hi,
I want to create/modify an existing pivot table in an excel sheet. Is there any open source available to work on pivot tables.
I have seen few articles mentioning that POI supports updation of data, though the apache site says that it does not support working with pivot tables. I am able to copy an existing excel template with pivot table to a new excel using poi but am stuck with updating....
Thanx,
Praveen.

Hi,
The JExcelAPI does not support working with pivot tables... I am still in search of an open source to work with pivot tables....
btw, we are able to update an existing pivot table using apache poi. But we need to change the data range of the pivot table during run time... Am stuck with this... Has anyone come across any open source to work with pivots???
Regards...

  • Java API for working with digital signature.

    Hi,
         I have to check whether a pdf form is modified since it is digitally signed, using a java program.
         Are there any java APIs(provided by SAP) available for that?
         Can I use IWDPDFDocument API in java program? I tried it but I am getting 'classnotfoundexception'.
    Thanks,

    may i know what service pack of SAP NetWeaver  Developer Studio version are you using?
    as the "IWDPDFDocument" is only available on SAP NetWeaver 2004S SPS 10 and above
    and you just need to import either this two class
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.adobe.api

  • Generic Java class for working with Context Nodes

    Hi,all
    I would like to write generic Java class for working with Context Nodes:
    populating node,
    add element to node,
    update node element,
    remove node element
    Any ideas how can I do it?

    Hi,Armin
    Thanks for your answer.
    I have many nodes with the same structure,but different data.
    I don't want to work with each one of them individually.
    This is the main reason.

  • Java API to work with Oracle Workflow

    Hi,
    I'm new to Oracle Workflow. Currently, I'm starting to work on a java front-end to work with some features of Oracle Workflow.
    The only thing I know, is that I should be using workflow 2.6.3, and someone gave me a jar which is supposed to be the java API to the workflow, and a link to some online info:
    http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/workflow.102/b15855/toc.htm
    The api I received, was a jar file named "wfapi.jar". It was sent to me by email, don't know where they got it from.
    And that's it ... it's the only info I received.
    Searching the web, I found this interesting article:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/workflow/release262/wfjavawp.pdf
    That teaches me how to work with the java API, but the document itself is intended for release 2.6.2 (november 2001). So I started doing the first coding, and found that I have no way of implementing the instruction: "import oracle.apps.fnd.common.*;"
    Seems I don't have the "common" part of the package ... that just pops up two reasons:
    1. I don't have the complete java API;
    2. This code is for version 2.6.2, and in version 2.6.3 of the API the "common" was removed (which I think it would be quite odd).
    So I endup with no way of testing, and don't know the product well enough to start working and learning with it.
    Anyone can give me some lights?
    Where can I find a complete and definite complete java API?
    What about some guide with some examples on how to start working with the API?
    Where can I search the demo java programs?
    If I download the Oracle Workflow 2.6.3 from oracle.com, will I be able to get that API? Will I need to install it to get the API? Do I need the Oracle DB to be installed first?
    I would appreciate some help on how I can startup using this, or what should I look for, and most importantly, where?
    Thank you very much.
    ----- code example -----
    To test using what I got, I've ran the following code:
              String sUser = "myuser";
              String sPass = "mypass";
              String sJdbc = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@";
              String sStrg = "myserver:1520:mysid";
              String sCharSet = null;
              WFDB myDB;
              WFContext ctx;
              myDB = new WFDB(sUser, sPass, sJdbc, sStrg);
              sCharSet = System.getProperty("CHARSET");
              if(sCharSet==null) {  //cannot be null
                   sCharSet = "UTF8";
    This just gives me the following message:
    [22-11-2005 14:58:54:328 GMT] 7b4542dd WebGroup E SRVE0026E: [Servlet Error]-[oracle/apps/fnd/common/VersionInfo]: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/apps/fnd/common/VersionInfo

    So it seems the "common" is needed after all ...

    Hi
    I find the answer for me question (if anyone have the same problem).

  • Create a Navigational Hierarchy for filtering with the Table API

    Hello,
    I've built a WAD report acourding to the how to document: "Create a Navigational Hierarchy for filtering with the Table API".
    It works great but i dont know How to make the hirarchey to show the key and the text.
    Please Advice.
    David

    Hi Kenneth,
    please have a look in the source of the executed Web Application. What is inside of the <div> with the id filter?
    You should also find a td tag with id hier_xyz with xyz the filter inside of the <div>-Tag with id filter.
    Also check whether you have a javascript error.
    Have a look on the Javascript function set_style. Perhaps you can paste it here, than I can have a look.

  • Java API for running entire ".sql" files on a remote DB ( mySQL or Oracle)?

    Hi,
    Would anyone happen to know if there's a java API for executing entire ".sql" files (containing several different SQL commands), on a remote database server ?
    It's enough if the API works with MySQL and/or Oracle.
    Just to demonstrate what i'm looking for:
    Suppose you've created sql file "c:/test.sql" with several script lines:
    -- test.sql:
    insert into TABLE1 values(3,3);
    insert into TABLE1 values(5,5);
    create table TABLE2 (name VARCHER) ENGINE innoDB; -- MYSQL specific
    Then the java API should look something like:
    // Dummy java code:
    String driver="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver";
    String url= "jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/myDb";
    SomeAPI.executeScriptFile( "c:/test.sql", driver, url);
    Thanks.

    No such a API, but it's easy to parse all sqls in a file, then run those command:
    For instance:
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.util.Properties;
    /* A demo show how to load some sql statements. */

  • Image not displayed in pdf generated using Java API for Forms service

    Hi,
    I am creating a pdf document using Java API for Forms Service.
    I am able to generate the pdf but the images are not visible in the generated pdf.
    The image relative path is coming in the xml as defined below. The images are stored dynamically in the Livecycle repository each time a request is fired with unique name before the xml is generated.
    <imageURI xfa:contentType="image/png" href="../Images/logo.png"></imageURI>
    Not sure if I need to specify specify specific URI values that are required to render a form with image.
    The same thing is working when I generate pdf document using Java API for Output Service.
    As, I need to generate interactive form, I have to use Forms service to generate pdfs.
    Any help will be highly appreciated.

  • What is the right sdk api to work with webi reports in BOXI Release 4?

    Hello,
    I just read in the omg model for rebean (sdk for working with webi report documents) that all functions to access the report structur and layout are no longer availabe beginning with Release 4.
    Can anyone confirm, that this is the case?
    Are those functions moved to a different SDK component?
    Thanks in advance,

    Thank you for the information srrachna !
    Well, the point with the report engine sdk is a surprise. What is the sense of new functionality when you cannot use it (spoken for the api processing), and in addition when the new functionality eliminate functionality which was available before in the sdk.
    In my view this cut is to hard. The .pdf speaks from deprecated, but the blog and the information in the report engine api speaks a different language. The functionality is not just deprecated but no longer available.
    Hope SAP will address that before relase 4 becomes GA in May 2011.

    I would like to check is there any limit  on suggested times ?
    API is also giving quality of timing like "Good", "Excellent" on what basis this is decided ?

    You can specify the maximum number of suggestions per day using the MaximumResultsByDay parameter (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/aa565641(v=exchg.150).aspx).
    The quality is determined based on how many attendees are available and is influenced by the GoodThreshold:

  • Problem with Pivot Table with Graph: Line Bar Combo

    Hello people!
    I have a problem with pivot table and line bar combo (all in the same view (pivot table))
    I have some measures and one dimension in my report.
    --------------measure1---measure2---measure3
    Dim A.1
    Dim A.2
    Dim A.3
    If I choose my graph line bar combo automatically choose "line" measure 3 (last measure in "Show Controls"). How can I do if I want my measure1 for line and I don't want modify my pivot table?
    Thank you very much!

    Ok, I'll explain my problem again. In my pivot table I add graph vision and I want in the same view (Pivot table). My graph is "Line Bar Combo" and I don't know how but the last of my measures belongs to right AXIS, if I change order of my measures I can see in my graph the measure that I want in my right axis BUT also it changes the order of my pivot table.
    This is my problem. I think that I can do that with different views but I lose my selector view to view graphic and my pivot table at the same time.

  • Is there a Java API for Tree data structure?

    Hi,
    I am wondering is there any Java API to work on Tree based data structure.
    I could read in some forums / sites that teach me how to create tree based objects using collection.
    But I wanted to know is there any core java API that can be used directly for tree based operations. (like binary tree or other type of trees)
    Please comment on this doubt.

    Headed using google and other stuff not found one.
    Suggestion: Why not start building the one, its a good idea to do that, isn't it.

Installing standalone workflow should be a lot easier than what you have found, although it looks like you did hit a Pentium 4 issue with the Oracle Universal Installer. I suggest you contact Oracle Support or Oracle Consulting for assistance.
    because i can't install standalone oracle workflow successfully.
    pls tell me how to use java api for function activity in embed oracle workflow?
    are there some patch or pulg-in package?

  • Query on Topology for working with Routing Server

    Hi,
    We have just started working with Routing Engine. We have a sample street data. For working with routing server, whether we need the topology to be built?
    If we have a topology can we use with routing server?
    In this request for un-geocoded addresses
    <start_location>
    <input_location id="1">
    <input_address>
    <us_form1 street="4001 E Bay Dr" lastline="largo, fl" />
    </input_address>
    </input_location>
    </start_location>
    What does this street and lastline mean. Which table its referring?
    Can you help me out in this problem?
    Thanks and regards
    Aravindan

    The routing engine requires data in a particular form. It does require a node and edge table as well as oher information.
    In appendix c of the 10g Release 2 documentation is a description of the tables and the XML elements (such as us_form1, street, lastline, etc) required for the routing engine. If you have data that can be massaged into this format then you can do the massaging and load and use it.
    Hope this helps,
    d
