Java Dictionary Project with Tables already Existing

Hi@all,
is there a possibility to define a Dictionary Project in Developer Studio with Database Tables already existing? I tried to rebuild them manually in a project though there is no import possibility.
But it doesen't seem to work with the frameworks requiring Java Dictioniary such as CMPs and SQLJ

Hello,
I am trying to create a table which has the same table name that already exists in a different schema. The table already exist in another user's schema but why can't I create the same table in my own schema with the same name? Thank you.

Java Dictionary Project + create autonumber for KEY field?

Hi there,
I would like to create a Java Dictionary project that has a table with an AUTONUMBER as the key field.
I know exactly how to do this in SQL Server using the IDENTITY field but cannot see an option when using the Java Dictionary project?
Any ideas?

Has there been an update to this recently? I am in need of exactly the same information. The FAQ lists this:

Now, I may be reading the note incorrectly, but it makes it sound like if you do populate a table with a XML file, the records cannot be modified thereafter. Is this true?
I'd also like to know how to develop the XML and where to put it, etc. I've had no luck searching for this information.

Java Dictionary or ABAP tables

Dear all,
Can anybody tell me when to make use of Java Dictionary?
I've seen different projects that make use of ABAP tables as well as Java dictionary to store data. But what will be the criteria to decide which one I should choose for my data persistence?
For example, I've a requirement at my hand, which will have huge data transfer per day & the number of records in the table will be in lacs. Where will I persist my data in Java dictionary or ABAP tables?
What are the pros & cons of each?

Sir as your question : I wanted to know the pros & cons of using Java Dictionary (Dictionary DC) as well as ABAP tables ?
Please try to understand both are different things in their context , OK let me try again
1. Java Dictonary is used used to define the table structure its data types and used for portal database if it is small/ lightweighted.
2.ABAP table is again for defining the structure , datatypes , which is used in RFC/BAPI.
3. When to use what or Pros & Cons
Java supports more models (Javabeans, web services, adaptive RFC, and XMI) . Data Dictonary is common every where ,OK
Compared to the function module model in ABAP,
(so u can think like this that ABAP tables are base in SAP environment to define metadata of the databse , Similar concept java has implemented using data dictonary)
There is nothing comparable because both have their own purpose to serve, except Java Dictonary are mostly use for small project or if project involvment is only in Java., where as ABAP table has no limit .

Second thing is both has code wizards to generate the metatdata after definition.

PB with beans binding in a netbeans 6 java project with ant script existing

Hi all,
I am using netbeans 6.01.
I want to use beans binding in a simple swing form created with Matisse designer. If i do beans binding in a Netbeans java project with existing ant script i have the following error :
java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: No PCPE/PCPMI found for classpath/compile in MasterFileObject@25 .... etc
Beans binding works very well in normal java project ( Java Desktop App for instance ).
How can i make it work in an existing java ant script project ?

You need to add the Beans Binding (beansbinding-1.2.1) that come with NetBeans 6 in your projects class path.

Won't install java 1.8 says version already exists 14.9

I'm trying to create a database in Open Office which I was able to do fine this morning, but now after updating OO it is telling me "no java installation could be found". When I go to oracle to download the latest Java version the machine tells me I already have version 14.9 installed which as far as I can tell from google searching is not an actual version of Java since every link is in another language. I've gone through the forums to see how to delete the version of "java" that I do have off the machine. Opened the terminal and cut and pasted in the command from this post: When trying to install newest Java, computer says a newer one already exists? But it says I need a password to run the command. There is no solution on this thread. So I'd really love for someone to tell me what the heck give here. (I'm running 10.9.5 and trying to use OO 4.1.1. I've gone through the OO forums to no avail as well.)

How I was able to overcome the Java 14.9.0 problem
My iMac (late 2009) was yesterday updated to Mountain Lion 10.8.5 and today I updated Java through Apple Store, which resulted in Java 14.9.0 and it was unable to run.
After researching, I found the following path that was 100% successful to delete Java 14.9.0 and able to install Java 10.8.40.
On the System Preference for Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.5 go to section:
1. Personal -> Security Privacy -> Firewall -> turn it off
2. General-> Check "Allow application downloaded from anywhere".
(In case if Norton Firewall is on: check it Disabled)
On Finder -> Devices -> Macintosh HD and localize Java Applet Plugin.plugin and move it to trash:
Finder -> Devices -> Macintosh HD -> Library -> Internet Plug-Ins -> JavaAppletPlugin.plugin
Go to www.java.com and install Java version 8 update 40.
After following the steps, verify its installation.
Go back to System Preference and localize in the section Other "Java Control Panel". Click on its icon and go to Security and check "Enable Java content in the browser".
Check browser to activate Java Plug in: Firefox -> Tools -> Add-ons ->Plugins -> Java Applet Plug-in - Java 8 Update 40
Check "Always Activate " or "Ask to Activate"

Create a Playlist from external folder with tracks already existing in iTunes

I was just wondering if its possible to create a playlist from an external folder (on my desktop) with tracks that already exist in iTunes.
I basically have a folder on my desktop that i use with Serato, i was wondering if it'd be possible to sort a playlist in iTunes with the tracklist from the folder? I already have all the tracks on iTunes so i don't want to add them onto iTunes again just to put them into a playlist as i'd have to sort through all the duplicates to delete the non playlisted tracks (theres around 1500 so it wouldn't be a quick task).
Would be much appreciated if anybody can help!

I have an AppleScript that does this.
This script need Spotlight metadata, all files in the folder that you use with Serato should be indexed.
Works well if the tags (name and artist) are defined
In this script :
it will display a dialog to select your folder
iTunes search track from the library playlist according to (artist, album and title in the Spotlight metadata of each file).
If iTunes found a track, iTunes will add this track to the new playlist.
The script takes 35 seconds for 1000 files on an old machine (PowerMac G5 2 X 1.8 GHz) .
This should take less than 100 seconds for 3500 files on the new machine

Firewall - Java Card project with two packages.

My Java Card project has got two Java Card packages. One of them contains only the Java Card applet. The other package contains all other classes. We did the splitting because our application is large and if all the code is left inside the one package if debug mode was checked, the size of the cap file was more than 64 bytes and the CAP file with that size cannot be installed inside the simulator. That situation made the programming difficult. Therefore the splitting took place. What is my question? If we have two packages, is there a firewall between them or the packages are in the same group context.

A library package has different restrictions to an applet package. As for the firewall, the data created in your library package is owned by the applet instance that created it. That means any data or objects created by calling your library from your applet will be in the same context as your applet. Any other applet accessing this library will not be able to access instances from the original context. This is only a problem with static fields and methods etc that are shared between both applets.

Why does appimp fail with "id already exists?"

After upgrading to a recent release of Portal on 8i, we have to use the appexp utility to export Portal objects. We exported an entire application and then dropped it. When we try to run appimp to put it back we get errors that objects will fail because "ID already exists". We found note 168309.1 on Metalink but it didn't give us a fix. Has anybody else encountered this and maybe found a solution?

This may be happenning due to some residual data in the wwv_modules$ table pertaining to the application you want to export. Delete the residual data and the try re-importing.

Can I use the Airport Extreme Base Station with my already existing D-Link router to increase signal strength?

How to set "Output folder" and "Outputfolder URL" in Flasbuilder 4b1 for combined Java/Flex project with WTP?

Hi,
how can I set the "Output folder" and "Output folder URL" in Flasbuilder 4b1?
In Flexbuilder 3 I can do this under Project Properties/"Flex Build Path"
Under "Flex Build Path" in F4b1 I can see the settings, but they are not editable.
A message says "The output folder settings for server projects are on the Flex Server Property Page" but under "Flex Server" there is nothing (yet) I can change/set?!
Is there a workaround?

Yes I'm using Flash Builder b1, build 235740. But your settings panel looks different to mine (see attached).
Just a thought. When you created the Flex project, did you choose a server technology at that point already? I just remember from Flex Builder 3 that if you didn't choose a server technology when you created the Flex project then it was a pain in the ** to add it later. It involved editing the .flexProperties file manually if I remember correctly.

WD Java blackberry - problem with table lead selections

i have a table which shows data from backend - works fine also on blackberry.
when i change the selected line - lead selection - which works on the browser and shows other detail data below the table - on the blackberry it seem that this does not work.

Can I sync my iCal with my already existing Gmail Calendar?

I am trying to simplify life and that includes synching my calendars all into one. I mainly use my Google Calendar and would like to be able to sync it to my iCal. I tried copying the URL, but it said it would not work....any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong?

Deleted Tables in Java Dictionary

Hi all,
I have deleted a table within the Java Dictionary. The documentation tells that it is not possible to reuse the name of a deleted table.
But unfortunately i have to reuse this name. So my question is:
Is there any possiblity to undelete the table or to reuse the name?

Hi Florian,
the creation of Java dictionary projects is checked against the name server. That is the reason why you cannot re-use the name just after the deletion of the table, as it could be possible that this table is already transported and re-used in another project.
If you really know that this table name is not used somewhere else, you can remove the name reservation. This has to be done in the SLD that acts as the Name Reservation Server (in most cases it's the SLD that you also use for creating your SCs).
There, go to the section "Name Reservation" and have a look at the reserved names of type "DB table". Delete the desired entry.
Then you only have to restart the NWDS, as this is chaching the info from the name server.
On the DB, there is no issue re-using the table. But you have to keep in mind that this will result in a drop of the existing table with all the data before it is recreated.
