Java download kit

At the moment, I am downloading jdk 1-5-0-1. New to java. Please advise if servlets are included in this installation or do I have to download servlets separately

Since the J2EE download includes the Big Hammer (e.g., EJB container, JMS, etc.), I'd recommend that you start with Tomcat if you're only interested in servlets and JSPs:
http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat
It's the reference implementation for the current servlet/JSP specs. Lots of docs, tutorials, and books available. I think you'll find it a gentler introduction.

  • Downloading the java devoloper kit

Hi i am a high school student who is learning java. I have been trying for a very long time to download the java developer kit so that i can work on some of my programs at home instead of just at school. Everything that i compile comes up with no errors but when i try to execute my programs i get the "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError" error. I have done everything that the online instructions tell me to do. If you could help me i would very much appreciate it.

i am assuming you know how to install anyways after installing you need to know where your j2sdk1.4.2_12 folder is. just for instance lets assume you have it in c drive. go to start and then run command prompt window. enter cmd. you should have a path something like this
    c:\documents and settings\chris
    well do this first
    cd..
after that you will have c:\\documents and settings
well do the same thing one last time so then you are in your c:\
    cd..
now you will have the screen something like this
    C:\
i am assuming your j2sdk folder is in c drive so you will do this next
    cd j2sdk1.4.2_12 (then press enter)
now you will see your command prompt like this
    c:\j2sdk1.4.2_12
then just type one last command.
    cd bin
now your command prompt looks like this
    c:\j2sdk1.4.2_12\bin
Thats it BOYyYyyyYyy You got it. The next thing you need to do is type your code in a notepad and make sure MAKE SURE YOU SAVE IT IN THE BIN FOLDER WHICH IS IN J2SDK1.4.2_12 and save it as a .java file e.g (HelloWorldApp.java) in the bin folder.
Now go to your command prompt i hope it is still in bin directory
    type this
    javac HelloWorldApp.java
    no errors HURRAY !!!!
    then type java HelloWorldApp
    Have fun BoYyYyyYy

  • Step by step installation for java card kit 2.2.2

can anyone help me with a complete step by step installation information for java card kit 2.2.2, i already tried to follow the instruction given in the software i download n still stuck in setting the java path. any recommendation
    thanks for the help

The javacard API is for developing applets on card. Java 6 is for developing clients off-card.
yes u can use any java IDEs like netbeans or jcreator. But you will have to select the libraries within the downloaded java card kit folder for ur IDE in order to compile successfully.
try reading up the documentation and run the samples in the java card kit. thats a good place to start.

  • Java Card Kit - development environment

    Hello!
I need to upgrade to the latest Java Card Kit, because I need some of the classes in javacardx.framework, which is not supported by version 2.2.1.
But some problems arises when I'm trying to use version 2.2.2
    1) It requires jdk1.5. Ok, no problem (ehh)
    2) I'm using eclipseME 1.6.0. This requires jdk 1.4.2.
    3) I downloaded WTK2.5 which supports jdk 1.5, but I cannot get this to work properly. This is the error output of WTK when my application tries to connect to the running cref-simulator:
java.io.IOException: error 10054 during TCP read
I have not found a solution for this problem yet. But my question is:
What is the optimal development environment for java card 2.2.2? What kind of MIDlet-emulator and which version are people using together with java card 2.2.2? Is there a eclipse plugin that supports jdk 1.5?
    Regards
    Haavard

Only cref can create and use EEPROM images.
You do not communicate with cref via SATSA apdu.... In emulation environment APDU commands are forwarded via satsa-apduio.jar to any process which can accept these commands. It's a pity but you just cannot replace satsa-apduio.jar with apduio.jar from JCDK 2.2.2 (which uses T=0 by default).
As for my proxy - it's not necessary to include it in your project - it's just an utility to accept T=0 APDU and forward them to smart-card. I think there's need to add new functionality - forwarding T=0 APDUs to other process which accepts T=1. I think it will solve your problem.

  • How to install Java Development kit on RHEL 4.0 workstation

    Hi Guys,
I'm new to java and not able to install java development kit on RHEL 4.0 system.
I got tzupdater.jar file and confused what to do with it so that i acn succesfully use my JDK.
    Abhishek
    :(

Simply go here and download the version you want (if you know how to use rpm, then get the rpm version, if not get the self extracting executable form). Then install by either using rpm or simply changing the mode of the downloaded file to make it executable and execute it.
    This is not rocket science.

The course that I am enrollled may be old and nature and may not been upgraded for sometime. Is it possible to take me to the link to download free java software and if at all has this java software been upgraded recently?

Google keywords: "jdk download". First link returned leads here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html. Click on the little "JDK" link and go from there.

  • Failed to download java download client

Trying to get a webex meeting going w/new firefox 4 install, I get:
"Failed to download java download client!
Sorry, you do not have java download client enabled. Please try again or inform your Site Administrator to set up for you. "
There is no site administrator, it's my Mac so I'm it. ;) I've googled it and I see nothing on how to turn this on. Basically you can try and start a webex meeting here:
    http://www.webex.com/lp/jointest/
That also chokes with the same error. Works with Firefox 3.x no problems... but with firefox 4 no dice. Probably some simple setting I'm missing... can someone give me a clue?

    Workaround:
Find your Firefox application in Finder, right click on it, click on "File Info", select 32-bit mode, and restart Firefox.

  • ZAC looks for Java Development kit

Is it true that ZAC needs Java Developmement kit installed on the client?
Because my ZAC client got the following error:
    overallfound JAVA_HOME for JavaSoft VM: D:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3
couldn't load Sun VM: 'Sun VM libraries do not exist/cannot be loaded in
    JAVA_HO
    ME D:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3\bin\javai.dll'
Cannot load a suitable Java VM: error cannot load VM with order preference
    'S',
    exiting
When I reinstall JDK it is okay. When I rename the registry key 'Java
Development Kit' to something else it stop working again. Rename it back
    makes it works.
But I don't know why ZAC need JDK since I only want end user install JRE
    instead.
    Thanks.

The OpenJDK is under the GPL (with the classpath exception)
I searched on the internet and many people says: Java Development Kit is under the GNU General Public License (GPL) and You don't can to distribute your programs compiled with Java Development Kit as a commercial software or to sell a product written in javaThey are wrong. The license of the software only governs how you may use it and what you can do with its source code. It does not restrict what you can do with the things you build with it (as long as you don't use parts of the JDK itself in your product)
, You need a business license if you want to sell a product written in java, I mean: You must to buy: Java for Business JDK/JRE. This information is true? No.
[Java for Business|http://www.sun.com/software/javaforbusiness/index.jsp] is a program by Sun/Oracle that allows you to buy support for the JDK. For example it allows you to use (and be supported with) the JDK 1.4.2, which is otherwise at its end-of-life.
You don't need to buy that if you just want to build and sell software using the JDK.

  • Does JDK (java development kit) already comes installed on the Macbook?

Does JDK (java development kit) already comes installed on the Macbook?
I was at the Oracle website and noticed they have a JDK version for Windows, Linux and Solaris, but I couldn't find one for Mac OS. How is possible to develop in Java if you are using a Mac? Does the JDK already comes with it?

    No.

  • Java downloads?

I am fairly new to java programming, and am wondering exactly what I need to download to compile and run java programs using a command prompt. I do it at school, but would also like to be able to do it at home. What package do I need?

You need the Java SE Development Kit.
Links to it, and an explanation of what to do once you get it are available in the ["Hello World"|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/getStarted/cupojava/win32.html] chapter of Sun's Tutorial.
(This assumes you are using Windows; you don't say. Linux instructions are near by.)

  • Java download to laptop - how do I launch/run etc

I recently downloaded Java software from the Oracle site to my laptop. I can see the files loaded under Program Files, but cannot see any desktop icons etc. Can anyone advise how I launch the software in order to write some code in the development environment, debug and run the code etc. Many thanks. Gerard B.

Thank you for the response. Can you advise which file to double click. Its not clear to me which one launches JDK. A large number of files were downloaded including many folders - bin, lib, etc. I cannot see any obvious file or icon that launches the software. I would appreciate any further advice. Thank you Gerard. Then you don't have an installer, that is just an unpacked JDK distribution. There is nothing left to click, you're done. And there is no "launching the JDK" - its a source development kit, not a program. Your first step is the java tutorial to get some of those assumptions out of your system.
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/getStarted/index.html
Of course eventually you will want an IDE to manage projects with. You have a choice to make there; Eclipse and Netbeans are popular choices but there is also for example Oracle JDeveloper. But before you do all that: read and learn the truth.
    EDIT:
one more thing; did you download the JDK or did you install the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) through for example java.com? I find it questionable that you never had to run an installer.
