Java EE 5 request.getRequestURL() change

Hello,
I have a problem with change of the method HttpServletRequest.getRequestURL() in my action servlets. I have this situation:
URL matches http://server/app/page-key-word-string
These URLs generates 404 Tomcat error page, which redirects to redirectServlet, where I get the client URL by calling request.getRequestURL() and then I parse the page-key-word-string and select the matching page from DB.
This worked fine in Java EE 1.4 but in Java EE 5 the getRequestURL() method returns the path to redirectServlet instead of the client URL. Please, where can I get the client URL? Or is there other way to implement these functionality?
Thanks a lot.

Hmm.. Do you mean response.redirect() or forward via RequestDispatcher? A redirect issues a new GET request from the client, changing the url returned from getRequestURL() so the behavior via J2EE 5 is more understandable. I'm not sure how the process worked for you using J2EE 4 unless you were using the RequestDispatcher and changed your code... But maybe there's more to this..

  • Adding a field in Web dynpro java in Travel Request application

    Hi All,
    How to add a field in Web dynpro java in Travel Request application or can we copy the Web dynpro java application to Web dynpro ABAP and add a field. Experts, Can you please suggest me step by step in resolving the problem.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar,
    First, in order to customise the ESS webdynpro Java iViews you need to be aware that, you are about to change the SAP standard iviews. In order to avoid this you can make a copy of the SAP standard one's and then try to customise the copied one's.
    Now, you should have NetWeaver Development Infrastructure(NWDI) installed. Once it is installed you should also install the Netweaver Developer Studio (NWDS) on your computer.
    Once you have these two installed, you should deploy the ESS Business Package onto the NWDI by creating tracks. There is a cookbook available on SAP Service Marketplace for configuring NWDI for ESS.
    Once you have all the above mentioned tools, have a look at the following blog which clearly explains about the procedure of customising ESS iviews.
    /people/vinoth.murugaiyan/blog/2007/08/24/essmss-customization-150-make-it-simple
    Also check the following Wiki, this might be useful!
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/wiki?path=/display/erphcm/employee%252bself%252bservice
    I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any issues.
    Dont forgett to contribute points if this is useful! All the Best.

  • Cannot reliably use request.getRequestURL() in my backing bean

    I am using jDev 11.1.2.3.0.
    In my backing bean to my ADF JSF page fragment I get mixed results from different web browsers when trying to retrieve a URL from the request object. The java code I use in my bean is like this:
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest)fc.getExternalContext().getRequest();
    String URL = request.getRequestURL().toString();
    Depending on whether I use IE, Firefox or Chrome, sometimes the URL = null. What's wierder is that different computers in my office get different results. One computer can get URL = null in IE and FF, and another would get null using Chrome and IE. It's so bizzare, I don't even know where to start debugging this issue.
    But I'm wondering if it's the way I am retrieving the request object using request = (HttpServletRequest)fc.getExternalContext().getRequest(); Is this the right way to get the request object?

    Hi,
    if you are in a page fragment then the request is partial anyway. So can you give us an idea of what the use case is for which you need the URL ? Maybe its easier to fix the desired use case implementation then to fix access to the URL just to find out you cannot use the result (the URL is not identifying the page fragment and thus doesn't allow redirects or bookmarks)

    Then I try with a single level network but I got the same error.
    Please can samebody help me?

    I find the solution to this problem.
    In the LODConfig.xml file I have:
    <readPartitionFromBlob>true</readPartitionFromBlob>
                   <partitionBlobTranslator>oracle.spatial.network.lod.PartitionBlobTranslator11g</partitionBlobTranslator>
    but when I change it to
    <readPartitionFromBlob>true</readPartitionFromBlob>
                   <partitionBlobTranslator>oracle.spatial.network.lod.PartitionBlobTranslator11gR2</partitionBlobTranslator>
    The application starts without the obove mentioned error.

  • OAS request.getRequestURL() sometimes gives port 0 instead of proper port

    I've implemented a Single Sign On system between two systems -- one (not OAS) generates an encrypted token using some Oracle pl/sql and passes it as a URL parameter, the other (OAS 10.1.2) receives it, decodes and validates, and then does a redirect to push the user into our system.
    I'm using standard Java methods etc and the code which constructs the redirect URL "generally" works, but sometimes, instead of giving me the proper port number in the URL (7873), it randomly puts a 0 in instead. I'm not positive what causes it, so I'm unable to provide a repeatable test which causes the port 0 to appear consistently.
    StringBuffer reqURL = request.getRequestURL();
    log.info("reqURL: " + reqURL.toString());
    (snip)
    response.sendRedirect(url.toString());
    I wrote code to find the :0 and remove it, but I'm wondering where exactly its coming from (seems like a bug in OAS), and if anyone has seen it themselves and knows how to fix it.
    Thanks!

    We believe this issue is related to the version of Apache and mod_oc4j which are included with OHS 10.1.2.
    We are upgrading to OHS 10.1.3 and hope this resolves the troubles. We have already tested with Apache 2.0.59 and cannot recreate this issue.

    Hello,
    Part of the HS_ERR_PID says:
    # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (1.6.0_01-b06 mixed mode)
    Does that mean you are running CF8 without updater1 applied? If updater1 was there I would expect JVM 1.6.0_04. Give that is correct you could apply updater1 and once that is done even update the JVM to a more current version. I see Java Dev Kit 1.6.0_23 is current, I have successfully used CF8 with 1.6.0_22.
    There might be some interesting detail in the coldfusion-out.log file which likely is in [CF]\runtime\logs or [Jrun]\logs pending server or multiserver.
    HTH, Carl.

  • Difference between task request and change request

    What is the difference between task request and change request during sap implementation. In general how many tasks will generate during a normal company inmplementation by any functional consultant?

    Hi,
    Change request and task request are same.But generally change request is generated during newly created objects or reports that are transported and task request is used when u regenerate the change request by modifying that object again and transporting it in new change request.
    A particular change request may contain multiple number of task request but that number depends upon number of objects u transfer during generation and transportation.
    Pls do reward points if ans is useful.
    Regards,
    Suhas.

  • IBase When Creating a Request for Change in Solution Manager 7.1

    Hello all,
    We recenlty upgraded our sandbox system to Solution Manager 7.1 SP3 and are currently investigating the new ChaRM functionality with the new CRM UI. Our company had configured ChaRM back in 2007 and has been working very well since the initial delivery.
    While I was following the Request for [Change process simulation from RKT|https://websmp208.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000478022011E/index.htm] on our sandbox system, I had noticed that the iBase and Component that we have  created in transaction IB52 prior to the upgrade were not showing in our search when we were defining the Change Request Scope section. In the documentation that I have read leading up to the upgrade, there have been no mention of the iBase/Component data becoming invalid post-upgrade nor have I found a conversion process.  I have done a search here on SDN and on SAP Notes to see why the iBase and Components were not showing up.
    Has anybody encountered this issue since the upgrade to 7.1 or is there something I need to do in IB52 in order for the iBase/Component in the new CRM GUI?
    Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    yes in 7.0 it worked for me too, that is because in 7.0 ChaRM searched for projects based on the IBase you selected.
    If there were more than one project where this system is involved you got a pop up where to chose your project.
    In 7.1 you chose the project directly, instead of let the system search for you.
    And depending on what productive-systems are in this project you get your Ibase list.
    If you don't select a project at all you will still get a list of all Ibases in your system.
    Iif you ask the SAP, they will allways tell you that you have to have a productive system in your project, at least as you pointed out with a virtual system.
    I did not read i t though and therfore ca nnot provide any sources.
    This is all based on my experiences.
    Best Regards
    Daniel

  • How to create a New Tranport Request for changed  Extract structure

    How to create a New Tranport Request for changed  Extract structure ?
    Hi Experts,
    I have a FI AP Generic Datasource containing extract structure with appended fields.
    It has already been activated and transported to Testing System.
    Now, I am to create a new transport request for this DataSource and Extract structure.
    I do not want to delete and recreate the Generic Datasource.
    I am trying to look at the options in the extract structure top menu from where I can create a new Tranport Request.
    Please let me know the steps
    URGENT

    Hi Dev,
    Once you send the transport request for any data source from Dev to Testing you wont find that again in your Dev (I mean the TR). So, when you change anything for this data source or view now in Dev and try to save it, it will ask for a new transport request and here you can mention a new one starting from View then activate it and go to RSO2 regenerate it and use the same transport request for this too. When you transport this TR to Testing Environment the data source will automatically get changed.
    Hope it helps...

    <Re-Titled By Host>

    You should be able to do it yourself, log into your account (e.g. by tapping on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your iPad) and put your US billing address on your account : Change the country of your iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, and Mac App Store account
    You won't be able to change your country on your account if you have a balance on it, or if you have unexpired rentals or season passes.

  • Request status changed!

    Hi,
    in the manage tab of data target when i see the status of the request it is yellow and added records and transferred records has adifference of almost 40000.
    but when i click monitor button, it goes to the monitor screen with following msg
         " request status changed, trigger follow on events? followed by YES or NO push buttons?"
    why this msg is coming though upload is not yet completed?
    Thanks,
    Ravi

    This message indicates that there is some change in the data load between now and ur previous visit. If you choose YES, it refreshes and displays the latest status. If you choose NO, it shows the status of ur last visit
    Hope it helps!

  • Request.getRequestURL() equivalent in JSTL

    Hi,
    I am starting to mess with jstl. I was wondering if there is a "request.getRequestURL() " equivalent in JSTL. I have been messing with the implicit objects and do not seem to be able to find the url information in there. I can manually put the string together by putting different fields together, but that seems to be less than graceful.
    If not, how would I handle this best? Break down and use a <%...%>, send a request to my model and have a form bean send back the url? I seem to be missing something.
    Thanks,
    Jim S.

    EL doesn't define an implicit request object, but it does reveal the pageContext.
    You can get hold of the request object via ${pageContext.request}
    request.getRequestURL() is equivalent to ${pageContext.request.requestURL}

    Well,
    I am using Router from 11g. The web.xml from 10g does not have logs_id parameter and servlet mapping.... May I add logs_id parameter in web.xml?
    Here we have contract with oracle. But I could NOT find any thing about patchs for routeserver... I am downloading "configuration manager" to update my metalink. Could you tell me tip about where are routeserver patchs?
    Tks a lot,
    Daniel
