  • JAVA error when exporting to reporting schema ODDM 4.1

    When attempting to export a design to a reporting schema, we received the following error:
    ERROR ReportsHandler - error exporting to reporting schema:
    java.lang.classcastException: oracle.dbtools.crest.model.design.relational.column cannot be cast to oracle.dbtools.crest.model..design..relational.columnView

    at oracle.dbtools.crest.swingui.ControllerApplication$ExportToReportsSchema$1.run (ControllerApplication.java:2079)
    We downloaded and installed ODDM 4.1 (EA-1) build 4.1.0.866 to resolve an issue with column widths when exporting to the reporting schema (per SR 3-10154440761).  This is the 64 bit version with the included JAVA 1.8 JRE.

    David,
    We migrated this model from data modeler 3.3.  That Model was created from an import from Oracle Designer.  We have not yet tried to import the data model from Oracle Designer directly into v4.1 but are planning to do so shortly.   When we tried to export that design (from v3.3) to the reporting schema, it failed with object too large for column errors.  We wrote SR 3-10154440761 and were advised by Michael Wickham to use v4.1 EA as the column size issue had been resolved in this version.  It was apparent that the export to the reporting schema was making more progress before it failed on the JAVA error.
    We are trying to migrate from Oracle designer to Oracle Data Modeler

  • Javadoc error ( import class )

    I'm getting this error when I try to generate documentation.
    I guess javadoc doesn't like the import statement, has anyone
    seen this before? Any solutions?
    GridWithListeners.java:47:
    '.' expected import Ml30Key;
    ^

    Hi,
    This does not look like a valid import statement. What is Ml30Key? If it is a package, the import statement should be something like:
    import Ml30Key.*;
    If it is a class, you have to import it using the fully qualified name. For example:
    import foo.package.Ml30Key;
    If it is a class in the default package, there is no need to import it.

  • Error importing classes

    I was in the process of altering the environment variables so that i could successfully use some classes under JDOM, but i actually managed to accidently delete a value in the path variable but forgot what it was and because of this my Visual studio and Java development environments were affected.
    I was not able to compile any java program, but i have set the path for it and it now compiles.
    Here comes the catch:
    I have a java class that uses another class in the same directory, and as we know we are not required to import the class. But when i compile it says symbol not found when i create an instance.
    It worked before i fiddled with the paths, is there any way i can sort this out?

    Did you get it while creating a template from the Word-Addin? Just close MS Word and then log back in and see whether it works. If you are on 10.1.3.2 then go to Start->Program Files->Oracle Business Intelligence -> Template Builder for Word and set the language to en-US. Your error could be because of a MS patch. If you set the language that should make it work.
    Thanks,

  • Crystal Reports 2013 java-error "java.lang.ClassCastException: class com.crystaldecisions..." when promoting

    Hi,
    when promoting "Crystal Report 2013" report (with data connectivity BW MDX Query) from BO DEV to BO PROD with BO Promotion Mgmt (LCM), we get the following error message in LCM jobs history:
    Resolution Status=Overwritten, Dependency Status=All the required dependencies are included.,
    Commit Status=Commit attempted and failed.,
    Promotion Status=Failure : Object promoted. Update failed.
    Error: java.lang.ClassCastException: class com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ByteArray:java.net.URLClassLoader@1d634758 incompatible
    with class com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.PropertyBag:java.net.URLClassLoader@1d634758
    The report itself is present on BO PROD, but the overwrite (BW DEV MDX Query-> BW PROD MDX Query) is not applied, so report connectivity still points to the BW Query on the development system :-( .
    Moreover, the overwrite itself is detected when the job is "test promoted" ("active overwrite").
    Before, we successfully were able to transport crystal reports 2013 with overwrite (the connection then pointed to BW PROD). No idea yet what suddenly changed that...
    Any ideas what causes the error and what can fix it (no posts found, no SAP note, google also no hits)?
    Best regards
    Florian Pitschi

    Update:
    After more investigation, it looks as if the BO Server "CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer"
    from time to time has an issue - not only when promoting, but also when viewing publications that contain Crystal Report documents or when executing them, the java class error or similar issue is thrown.
    Did sb face similar behaviour and knows what is the root cause for "CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer" not working probably and throwing the java-class error? - it was running fine for several months, now, the class error showed up twice in one month.
    We need to find out what is causing the issue (aleady checked tomcat and BO-logfiles...).
    Best Regards
    Florian

  • Compilation Error for import classes not found in generated Proxy Class

    Hi,
    We are generating java classes for the COM dll using JCOM com2java compiler.
    We are getting a compilation error for import class not found when compiling the
    generated Proxy java source code. It can't find the com.bea.jcom.Dispatch class that
    the generated Proxy java source code extends. It also can't find com.bea.jcom.Variant
    or com.bea.jcom.Param. These are interfaces or data types or classes used by COM
    library.
    I added weblogic.jar to my class path and the only Dispatch class i found inside
    the weblogic.jar is com.linar.jintegra.Dispatch;
    We have com objects for which we want to develop an EJB client to interface with
    the COM object using JCOM with Native Mode disabled.
    Any help on the compilation error..I tried changing the extends for Dispatch to com.linar.jintegra.Dispatch
    but the other errors are still there.
    To begin with, I think the generated code should not refer to any of the COM data
    types.
    Any help please.
    Thank you in advance,

    Hi,
    I resolved the other errors by changing all references from com.bea.jcom.Variant

    package.
    Thank you all anyways,

    Hi all!
    I have installed JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.3.0)
    My applications are located in the C:\dir (JDEV_USER_DIR = C:\dir)
    I Created application "Appliation1". In it i created 2 projects (Project1, in it beans session entity and other java classes; Project2, in it JSP).
    I want import classes from Project1 to Project2 using next directive:
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1252"
    import="project1.*"%>
    so in Project properties of Project2 set the way to classes in Project1.
    When i run JSP an error occurred:
    Error(4,9): The import project1 cannot be resolved
    Maybe i'm not set correctly the way to the classes
    Thanks in advance.

    angelr, thanks, it helped me)
    In jdeveloper 10g i set address in Project Properties->Libraries and Classpath->Add JAR/Directory;
    and set the way to my classes;
    and it worked.
    in the 11 version seems different

    Hi yzme yzme,
    These problems occur when you are not following the specification for the java Beans that the netweaver platform expects:
    Please check the following for eradicating the error:
    1. Is there a setter which doe'snt have a consequent getter for the variable.If so provide it because its considered mandatory from the bean Specs.
    2.If you have used your own methods for fetching and setting the value rather then using the getter setter for the same this will give a generational error on import.
    Above listed mistakes are made by developers ona regular basis. Please go through the java bean specs on sun.java.com for more details

    Hey Vishal,
    This issue gave us a  very hard time. The query was HRIS manager. when you add some attributes to be exported to excel and then select export. It hangs there. or hangs at the step where you select save as spreadsheet, OR after it where it runs a query to export.
    I came to know that Java JRE is used in the last step. So for solving this issue, go to java.com, on the first screen there will be big link to install java(i guess JRE). install it and then try exporting your query. I am sure it will work.
    Just notice that after doing installation of Java you will get coffee cup in you system tray.
    Thanks.
    Ankur.
    P.S. Points if works.
