Java Fingerprint Development with VeriFinger 4.2 SDK

Hello,
I hope to find guide with developing an application that implements Fingerprint functionalities.
I have tried to read the ANSI NIST-ITL 1-2000 Fingerprints standard.
I have the VeriFinger 4.2 SDK and have studied the manuals and sample codes.
I still need help on how to commence development of a sample application that implements the following Fingerprint technology
1. Enrollment
2. Verification
3. Identification
Most of the codes seem Hi-tech to me, but I can use any help smartly.
Thank you.

What exactly do you want to know? The third of these processes is
quite disjunct from the first two processes, i.e.
1) Succesful enrollment implies a succesful verification (maybe a couple
of times).
2) Verification is just the comparison between two images or significant
portions thereof. Fingerprint images typically contain "eyes" and
"bifurcations" that distinguish one fingerprint from another.
3) Identification is the mapping between a "key" of the fingerprint image
and the actual data present in a database somewhere.
kind regards,
Jos

  • Java webdynpro development with jdk1.5.7

    hi,
    I have installed the CE server and the Netweaver Developer Studio, to try some java developments.
    I was working with jdk1.5.7, but the server has only version 1.5.017.
    Is it possible to upgrade the java in the server, so it can work with the current jdk version?
    thx,
    Erik

    hi again,
    I could solve the problem:
    in the developer studio you can chose to compile for lower versions.
    To do so, go to windows>preferences>java-->compiler and chose compliance level 5 or 1.4(it was on 6), and now the development works fine.

  • Agentry app development with SMP 3.0 SDK

    Dear All,
    I am new to Agentry app development using SMP 3.0 and i have some basic knowledge on Agentry app development using Eclipse editor using Agentry Plug-in's, and after developing the app, publishing to the Agentry Server and testing the same app using Agentry ATE, but what my queries is please find the below points.
    1) In SMP 3.0 SDK, under Agentry app development what is the use of following 'a' and 'b', and give me more clarity about those 'a' and 'b'.
         a) Agentry OpenUI for iOS Setup Overview and
         b) Agentry OpenUI for Android Setup Overview
    For above points please find the Agentry1.jpeg for better understand.
    2)In the same SMP 3.0 SDK under Agentry app development what is the following points and give me more clarity the same below points.
        a) The Agentry SDK
         b) Agentry Device Client Branding SDK.
         c) Agentry OpenUI API
    For above points please find the Agentry2.jpeg for better understand.
    3) And how to generate executable like .apk for Android client and .ipa for iOS client and .cab for Windows Mobile etc..
    Best Regards,
    Ranjith Lingala

    Ranjith,
    I will do my best to answer your questions.
    1) OpenUI is a new option for Agentry applications under SMP 3.0 to allow users to extend and create their own controls for the Agentry clients.  Open UI is available for WPF, iOS and Android clients.  Using OpenUI is optional but can be used to create additional controls that do not exist in the base Agentry product (for example a slider control).  Open UI controls are created using the native language of the device so there are different setup instructions for each platform.
    2a) The Agentry SDK is the Active X process that only applies to Windows Mobile clients under SMP3.0.  For the other clients it has be replaced with OpenUI.
    2b)  Device branding is a process to take a generic client and apply your own icon, name, etc to it so that it is specific to your application name.  Again here the process for branding differs depending on the platform.
    2c) See #1
    3) Generating the .ipa or .apk process is part of either OpenUI or the Branding process.  You will need to follow the steps specific to which one you are doing.  There is no process for generating .cab files.  The branding for WinCE involves creation of a custom installer using NSIS scripts
    With SMP 3.0 we have even more options for extending the Agentry client to provide better integration (ESRI maps via OpenUI) or additional controls to improve the user experience.
    Have fun!

    At first there is the plain JSP / Servlet Programming
    You can use the J2EE Tutorial as starting point it also covers JSF (JavaServerFaces)and JSTL (JavaStandardTagLibrary)

  • What Java compiler for Java Card development ?

    What Java compiler and options should be used for Java Card development with the goal of generating correct, and (secondarily) small or/and fast code after conversion to Java Card bytecode using converter ?
    In particular
    - Is use of JDK 7 approved by Oracle for Java Card development? That would solve security problems associated with (the web components of the JRE of) some earlier JDK, including the latest JDK6. The JCDK 3.0.4 release notes states "+the commercial version of Java Development Kit (JDK software) version 6 Update 10 (JDK 6 Update 10) or later is required+, but that does not answer that question.
    - Anyone had _bad_ experience (like incorrect or disastrous code) with the Java compiler bundled with Eclipse ? I have seen at least one case where org.eclipse.jdt.core_3.7.3.v20120119-1537.jar produced slightly more compact code than javac.
    - Anyone had _bad_ experience with javac in jdk1.3 ? In an applet involving a "finally" clause, I've seen it generating more compact code than later javac (which in my test triplicated the code for the finally clause).

    What Java compiler and options should be used for Java Card development with the goal of generating correct, and (secondarily) small or/and fast code after conversion to Java Card bytecode using converter ?-target -source may be required to generate compatible byte code. Depending on the CAP file converter being used debug information may also help. Remember that Java Card is a subset of the Java language (also there are short opcodes that Java doesn't have etc) so a lot of the work for optimisation is done by the converter or the JCRE. You can look at the JCA code generated to determine what works best for your applets. There are also some ways of stripping out dead code etc from JCA files (return statements after a throw etc) to reduce your code size. Most of the speed optimisations come from your code (avoiding context switches and unnecessary security/access checks).
    The compactness of your Java Card binary may not be directly related to the size of your compiled Java code. It can depend on the converter you use and any optimisaitons the JCRE might try to do when the code is loaded.
    - Is use of JDK 7 approved by Oracle for Java Card development? That would solve security problems associated with (the web components of the JRE of) some earlier JDK, including the latest JDK6. Java Card does not use any of the libraries from the JDK/JRE. All of the libraries are provided by the JCRE on the smartcard.
    The JCDK 3.0.4 release notes states "+the commercial version of Java Development Kit (JDK software) version 6 Update 10 (JDK 6 Update 10) or later is required+, but that does not answer that question.Anything above JDK6u10 is supported. If you use Java 7 you may need to add a -source and -target flag when compiling.
    - Anyone had _bad_ experience (like incorrect or disastrous code) with the Java compiler bundled with Eclipse ? I have seen at least one case where org.eclipse.jdt.core_3.7.3.v20120119-1537.jar produced slightly more compact code than javac.We generally use the Eclipse compiler as we find that we get more deterministic builds. When CAP files are sent for security review it is helpful to have the reviewer able to generate a CAP file that matches the one you sent to confirm the binary is what you say it is.
    - Anyone had _bad_ experience with javac in jdk1.3 ? In an applet involving a "finally" clause, I've seen it generating more compact code than later javac (which in my test triplicated the code for the finally clause).We do not use anything less than Java 6 for compilation.

    Once you’ve gotten logged in, go to Downloads, select “Java” on the right hand side of the page, and download the Java SE 6 beta. Note: this is only available for Intel Macs running Tiger or Leopard — if you’ve got a G4 or G5, you’re out of luck right now

  • The version of iOS on does not match any of the versions of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK

    Getting this error message as of this morning: The version of iOS on “iPad” does not match any of the versions of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK. Please restore the device to a version of the OS listed below, or update to the latest version of the iOS SDK. I've downloaded the latest SDK and gone through the usual turn off and turn on again for iPad and computer, removed and reinstalled the iPad from Organizer and have no idea how to make apps build now. I was prompted to update the iphone too but there's no way I'm updating it if this issue can't be resolved.

    Okay these are the steps I took to solve the problem - they may not be the right ones for you but they've solved the problem and saved time hunting for some other solution. Firstly I changed my MAC system to Lion with the £20 download, then I deleted the old Xcode and installed the new version that is app based and doesn't support Snow Leopard, then all was well. I can now update my xcode via the app which is quicker and more logical and can update my iPhone rather than chug along avoiding updates as I need to update my existing apps on the app store and upload a new one.

              Will weblogic 4.5 work with the Sun Java Servlet Development Kit Version 2.1
              (JSDK 2.1). The reason I want this is we want our application servlets to

  • Java Plugin Viewer with Crystal Reports 2008

    Hello,
    I am trying to use the Java Plugin Viewer with Crystal Reports, but I have some problems. The ActiveX Viewer works well, but as I want to use the reports in other browsers, I need the Java viewer.
    I have a Visual Basic 6 application, and, instead of including SmartViewerActiveX.asp, I have included JavaPluginViewer.asp. I have taken this file from an older version of Crystal, and I am changing the values on it (I have done the same with the ActiveX Viewer, without problems). This is the main code of the file:
    <OBJECT
        classid="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93"
        width="100%"

        <param name=type value="application/x-java-applet;version=1.4">
        <param name=code value="com.crystaldecisions.ReportViewer.ReportViewer">

        <param name=archive value="ReportViewer.jar">
        <param name=Language value="en_US">
        <param name=ReportName value="RDCrptserver11.asp">

        <param name=HasSearchExpert value="false">
        <param name=HasSelectExpert value="false">
        <param name=ShowLogo value="false">
    </OBJECT>
    I know how to change all the values of this object so it works with Crystal2008 except one: the codebase.
    I have gone to IIS, and under the virtual folder "crystalreportviewers12" I don't see any JavaPlugin folder, there's only the JavaViewer folder, and there isn't any .exe inside...
    So, where can I find the .exe for the codebase?
    I have tried searching the web for a tutorial or something, but I haven't seen anything for Crystal 2008.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thank you very much!

    This is so wrong, I don't even know which forum this would belong to ( I think I'll move it to the SAP Crystal Reports, version for Eclipse topic Space...
    Let's start with this:
    I have taken this file from an older version of Crystal,
    Don't mix versions. It will not work. Period
    Next re:
    I don't see any JavaPlugin folder,
    If you want a Java solution, I'd recommend using CR for Eclipse which you can download from here:
    SAP BusinessObjects - SAP Crystal Reports, Version For Eclipse Download
    I would then recommend having a peek here:
    CRJ SDK
    Developer Help File is here:
    https://help.sap.com/javadocs/cr/xi/jrc/en/overview-summary.html
    Finally, I'm not sure what references you are making in your VB 6 app, but there is no SDK in CR 2008 that supports VB 6.

  • SQL developer with jre but no jdk

    Is there a way i can install sql developer with only jre installed in my windows system.
    Im trying to install to sql developer 64 bit and when i run the exe file it asks for java.exe file path.
    When i give it to the path to exe file in jre/bin it gives an error cannot find j2se sdk installed in jre directory.

    Normally SQLDeveloper requires a JDK and so will not accept a JRE.
    You can try to bypass this check by filling in the SetJavaHome property manually in the sqldeveloper.conf file usually located in
    SQLDEVELOPER_INSTALL_DIR/sqldeveloper/binby doing this you are not guaranteed to succeed, because some of the functions of SQLDeveloper specifically requires the JDK and so if you use these functions you will most probably incur in errors or unexpected behavior.
    The best thing to do IMHO is to install a proper JDK.
    If you do not have the right to do so you can also copy and already installed JDK from another machine and it usually works well enough.
