Is there a compiler out there which can turn a Java program into a .exe, and NOT require having the Java Runtime Environment?

Could I please have some other source, I can't open .tar/.gz files...

I know this topic has been discussed since the beginning of time, but I would like to compile a Windows executable (.exe). I have tried all possible tools (e.g. exe4j, JET etc.) to do so, but they all do require a JVM at some level. Once you've created a project and written your code, just go to wizards/NativeExecutableBuilder menu.
Configure few stupid things. It's done. Compile it.

How 2 convert a webapplication(nothing but execution not from main method) into .exe file.
Is it possible to covert.I found that a executable jars are used to convert a java application into .exe but no where i found abt webapplication.

I'm not sure you understand what you are asking.
Web applications are activated through the web browser (for example IE) and are executed on both client machine (in the browser) and in the server machine (the web server for example tomcat).
Exe are not executed within any browser and also the java part of the application is actually executed in the server so actually you want to execute only the js/html in the exe.
in other words i think your request is illogical and very very wrong.

No it doesn't.

Error while embedding java into BPEL

Hi Guys,
I am getting the following error while embedding Java into BPEL.
Error: C:\unzipjdev\jdev\system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.41.57\embedded-oc4j\.client (The system cannot find the file specified)
i checked for .client content , it is not available in the directory.
Does anybody know about this?

I did it in my computer, but I can not uninstall the Site Advisor alone. I need to uninstsll the the total McAfee plus. What should I do?

I have one problem, my company have bartender label printing software 32 bit version, previously they use VB6 for controlling the dublicate printing of lable,but the software is gone. Now i want to do this in Java, but i don't know how to connect java into Bartender software.
my company using old version, it accept only VB6. My Boss said can buy new Bartender Software but i don't know how to link and control dublicate printing. if anybody knows this connection between Bartender and Java please help me.

You used to be able to use exegen to generate stand alone executables for Windows, but this no longer works in later versions of Windows. It works for Windows 98 and NT. For example
exegen/main:schedserv /out:sched.exe schedserv.class scheduler.class
will generate the executable sched.exe from the two class files.
Probably MicroSoft decided to make life a bit harder for Java users.

Java-rmi.exe

I have client (applet) server (RMI) system that needs to work through a firewall.
Everything i have read says that there is a java-rmi.cgi and java-rmi.exe files in the bin dir of the JDK. I have jdk 1.3.1.1 installed and could not find it. I downloaded JDK 1.2.1 and that didnt have it either. I found that jdk 1.1 did have the java-rmi.cgi file but now i dont know how to use it properly.
I am running a windows server with IIS 5 and am not sure how to configure it to run cgi. Maybe i should find the exe version? Where is it?

It is java-rmi.cgi or java-rmi.exe depending on the platform. Instructions are given in the JDK. However this is for RMI/JRMP. This is the RMI/IIOP forum, and java-rmi.cgi doesn't work for RMI/IIOP.

Here's an easy question - how do you compile JAVA source into Windows .exe files (as opposed to class files with bytecode in them). I imagine there is a third-party product out there somewhere?

Sure, check out the GNU Compiler Collection or the commercial compilers.
If your app has a GUI... Tough luck.

On unix systems the ultimate transparency can be achieved with binfmt. web start, executable jars, custom launchers, etc come close enough elsewhere.
