  • Ldap client

    Hello everyone,
    I've been asked to develope a simple ldap-client Midlet and I have a few questions:
    can I import the java.naming.directory package into the Midlet?
    Will it work?
    Can you also point me to any related resource (tutorials, docs, ducks...) on the net?
    Thanks a lot!

    I'm afraid I'm not familiar enough with ldap to give you any solid advice on this (I barely know what it is).
    But here is what I can tell you from my knowledge in MIDP:
    The only protocol you can count on when using the Connector class is http (also https in MIDP 2.0). If you are targeting a specific device then you can check it's specifications to see what other protocols it supports (I find it hard to beleive that any device will natively support ldap). If you want a portable solution (or if the device you are targeting doesn't support the requested protocol), you'll probably have to use a servlet to act as the middle man. You can use XML as the protocol between the servlet and the MIDlet but take into account that XML has it's overhead (which may or may not be acceptable for your application), both in performance and in memory footprint. You could define a proprietary protocol that is simpler than XML, that would take the overhead down, but you probably will be losing flexibility.
    In any case, if you do decide to use XML, there are some packages that are customized for J2ME. Search around for nanoXML, and kXML.

  • Long time to start Java Web Client (Analyzer 6.2.1)??

    Does anyone know why Analyzer(6.2.1) takes a long time to start Java Web Client. Sometime it's even take more than 5 minutes. I think it is the Java Plug-in starting on the client computer. Any solution?

    The key to Analyzer 6.2.1 running correctly is the version of Sun Java Plugin. The ideal version (most optimal) is 1.3.0_02.Secondary to this if Analyzer performs OK once you are logged in then it could be down to the speed of your connection. The applet compiles at runtime (unlike Analyzer 5 which was a one time download). The delay in getting to the login screen could be this download.Hope this helps.Paul ArmitageAnalitica Ltd.www.analitica.co.uk

  • Issues in invoking a web service from a JAVA/BPEL client...

    We are trying to invoke a web service from a JAVA/BPEL client using org.apache.soap classes. But everytime we are running into issues of IllegalAccessError or InvalidClassError or IncompatibleClassError based on different jars we are trying to include in our project. Could you please help us out or provide any pointers. Any help would be highly appreciated

    Because you weren't told what to get, perhaps you already have it eh?
    What you want to read up about is JAX-WS, which is the webservice API bundled by default with your JDK (Java 6 and up). You'll find the wsimport tool in the bin directory of your JDK. I recommend you explore that directory and read up about all the executables you can find there, to be more prepared in the future. Know the tools you work with and all that. Most tools have a manual on this website:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/tech/index.html
    (under tools and utilities). Not wsimport, that is part of the jax-ws documentation. Better you look for jax-ws tutorials using Google, it will be quicker.

  • Invoking a BPEL Process via Java Remote Client

    Hi everyone!
    I want to invoke a BPEL process from my Java Application which is not running on the same Application-Server (not the same Java RE) as the BPEL processmanager does.
    For Applications running on the same AS there is the IDeliveryService class to which you can send a XML-request in order to invoke a BPEL process.
    Is the only way to invoke a BPEL Process from an external application to use a webservice client or is there a similar class for java remote clients?
    For access to the users worklist I use
    IWorkflowServiceClient wfClient = WorkflowServiceClientFactory.getWorkflowServiceClient(WorkflowServiceClientFactory.REMOTE_CLIENT);
    it works fine an I thought there might be a similar way to invoke a bpel process via remote too.
    If anyone knows if it's possible or not please tell me ;)
    Thanks in advance

  • This is regarding CBMA in SAP PI 7.3.1. I have set up the alert mail using default java mail client.I do receive the alerts via mail. But my requirement is to direct all the mails to Business workplace inbox in ECC.

    This is regarding CBMA in single stack SAP PI 7.3.1. I have set up the alert mail using default java mail client.I do receive the alerts via mail. But my requirement is to direct all the alert mails to Business workplace inbox in ECC.
    So I need to set up PI to redirect mails to ECC Business workplace user inbox (sbwp). From here rules are set up & routed per distribution list.
    Please guide me how I can achieve this requirement.

    Hi,
    yes, it is a little bit different. This is the issue.....
    But I am not sure if your links will help:
    1) /people/william.li/blog/2008/02/13/sap-pi-71-mapping-enhancements-series-using-graphical-variable
    is about a different solution. I do not need to count the number of lines of the source message.
    And the second variable is about concat line by line from unbound node to unbound node.
    My issue is:
    Souce:
    Message line (0...unbound) ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
    .    ResultLine   (1..1)
    Mapping:
    =>   ResultLine1
           ResultLine2
           ResultLine........          => into UDF to an element  (1..1) in one mapping operation.
    So that all "ResultLine"s are included.
    The result is explained in the given link for Mail attachment with UDF.
    So I am not sure how to use this thread for my issue.
    In the comments of that blog Christoph Gerber writes that the new variable feature can only handle single values.
    So it is not suitable for my purposes as I have a list of values here that needs to be moved into the target message field.
    2) http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Java/UsingEditJavaSectioninMessageMapping
    shows where to find the button "Java section" which is not available here in 7.1
    3) /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/10/01/xi-new-features-in-sp14
    too is about the nice little button for Java Section that is no longer existing on PI 7.1 screen for mappings.
    So my issue is: How to replace the Java section function with global variables in PI 7.1?
    Best regards
    Dirk

  • Java proxy client logical port transport to Q and prod issue in target addr

    Hi All,
    I have a java proxy client having a logical port (configured using NWDS) to consume a web service in the provider system.
    In the logical port, I have given target address, and logical port name. While moving this client proxy NWDI dev track to Q and prod,
    how do I change this target address to point to Q and prod respectively. In other words, even though I am using Visual admin to configure the destination url for the logical port, to point to Q and prod, its still referring to the dev environment provider service after moving the proxy client to Q and prod. What is the suggested approach to take care of this issue
    Thx

  • How to run a pure java application client with ear deployed on 9ias

    Hello all,
    We want to run a pure java application client which is packed with target bean in the same ear file. In the application-client.xml we refer to some EJBs.
    We deployed the ear file which contains ejb jar module and application client module to oracle 9ias 904 through enterprise manager on unix. The jndi.properties we used looks like this
    java.naming.factory.initial=com.evermind.server.rmi.ApplciationClientInitialContextFactory
    java.naming.provider.url=opmn:ormi://opmn_host:opmn_port:oc4j_instance_name/application_name
    java.naming.security.principal=test
    java.naming.security.credentials=test
    Is there anybody knows how to run such an application client? Do we need to provide such a jndi.properties or not at all?

  • Problem in delivering Picture Messages through Java SMPP client

    I m working on development of SMPP Client, using Java. In its development I didnt used any API from eny vendor, and implemented purely in Java. I am facing one unusual problem in receiving of Picture Messages. Also, I have one C based client application.
    I m sending picture message through both client application(s) to be delivered over different handset(s). I have tested many different cases, but could not conclude to any solution. The behavioral cases are as follows;
    When I sent same picture message through Java SMPP client on Nokia 1100, it get received with prompt Picture Message Received. And on viewing it, Message cannot be displayed, is informed and no picture message get displayed. Till now it happens for every caseto this handst, but get properly displayed on Nokia 32xx / 53xx.
    Whereas while sending through the C SMPP Client on Nokia 1100, sometime it get displayed and sometimes it doesnt. Same prompts follows on not receiving right picture message while using Java SMPP Client
    I m not understanding why;
    It doesnt get delivered correctly a picture message, every time I submits it to deliver on 1100 while sending through C based,
    And why It doesnt get delivered correctly at all while sending through Java SMPP client on 1100 whereas it get delivered correctly over other Nokia model handset.
    Kindly, anyone make me solve out the prob.

    Hi,
    Even we have implemented the Java SMPP client, to sending the picture message as embeded SMS.
    If you do not have issue to share the SMPPClient which is sending the picture message, I can look into the code and help you. Let me know, I can share my personal email id.

  • Cannot connect a Java GUI client to an EJB

    I am having problems trying to make a Java GUI client connect to an EJB. I am using JRun4.
    At first, I tried making the Java GUI client a part of the enterprise application that I am building (of which the EJB is a part of). I included the client as a Java module in the application.xml of the enterprise application.
    However, when I try to start the server, containing this application, I get an error saying:

    Now when I try to execute the application from the console, it works fine except when it comes to the part when it has to connect to the EJB. At this point I get an java.lang.reflect.UndeclaredThrowableException. Here's the stack trace:

    Since the bean is local, I am using a local reference to the bean in the lookup in the code of the client:
    Object o = context.lookup("local/BeanTest")
    I tried to use:
    Object o = context.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/BeanTest")

    I am not sure of a tool to view the JNDI tree. I have one in Weblogic console. But you can check the JNDI names with a small sample code.

  • Problem while creating an OU from LDAP client, in Oracle Virtual Directory

    Hi,
    1. I have created a Custom Adapter with root (i.e. dc=mycompany,dc=co,dc=in)
    2. Trying to create an "OU" under these above root (i.e. ou=test,dc=mycompany,dc=co,dc=in) using the LDAP client.
    I have given following inputs for the second step:
    Dn: ou=test,dc=mycompany,dc=co,dc=in
    ou=test
    objectClass: top
    objectClass: organizationalunit
    When I try to perform second step with above inputs its gives following error
    "LDAP Error 32 : No Such Object"
    Same inputs is valid for SunONE directory server.
    Is the above approach is valid for Oracle Virtual Directory?
    Does any one faced same problem before?
    Regards,
    Hardew

    You're going to have to install the Oracle client on the Win2000 box before doing anything else. Once you've done that, simply add a TNS name that points to the database on the Solaris box (the Net8 Configuration Assistant) can walk you through this. Finally, you'll go to the ODBC Data Source Administrator and create a new DSN.
    Note that if you install the latest ODBC driver, the 'service name' text box that you have to fill in when you actually create the DSN has been replaced with a combo box, which should make the process a little easier.

  • Native ldap client doesn't work with an openldap Server : No root DSE data

    Hello!
    My configuration :
    - an openldap 2.2.23 server (linux debian) (server name = serv_annu)
    - a ldap client (solaris 10) (server name = client_annu)
    I want to configure my client by using Solaris Native ldap and I follow the excellent doc of gary tay (http://web.singnet.com.sg/~garyttt)
    I use TLS and I had generated a certificate by using Mozilla . TLS works because ldapsearch from my solaris client works:
    FROM CLIENT_ANNU:
    +# ldapsearch -h server_annu -p 636 -b"dc=mydomain,dc=fr" -s base -Z -P /var/ldap/cert8.db "objectclass=*"+

    dn: dc=mydomain,dc=fr
    dc: mydomain

    1) I add DUAConfigProfile.schema and solaris.schema on my openldap server.
    2) I add a nisDomainObject at the root DN (see the result of the ldapsearch above)
    3) I Add ACL in slapd.conf to allow reading of rootDSE.
    access to dn.base="" by ssf=128 * read
    4) I launch on my solaris client
    crle -u -s /usr/lib/mps
    crle -64 -u -s /usr/lib/mps/64
    5) I can't apply result.c patch on my openldap server (production server!) then I can't create /var/ldap/ldap_client_file and /var/ldap/ldap_client_cred by using ldapclient command. Then I create manually /var/ldap/ldap_client_file and /var/ldap/ldap_client_cred : the syntax is correct because the "ldapclient list" command works :
    +# ldapclient list+
    NS_LDAP_FILE_VERSION= 2.0
    NS_LDAP_BINDDN= uid=toto,ou=People,dc=people1,dc=mydomain,dc=fr
    +NS_LDAP_BINDPASSWD= {NS1}ecfa88f3a945c411+

    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_BASEDN= dc=mydomain,dc=fr

    NS_LDAP_CREDENTIAL_LEVEL= anonymous
    NOTE : I've had to add NS_LDAP_BINDDN and NS_LDAP_BINDPASSWD even if I use anonymous credential level because I get an error when I launch ldap client process.
    Then here, everything is apparently OK but when I enable ldap client process the cachemgr process is running about 30s then it crashes:

  • LDAP Client Configuration in Non Global Zone

    I have configured 3 non global zones (different ip addresses and different names from global zone), installed LDAP client 2 on each, which worked fine, until the zones were rebooted. The ldapcachemgr was running, but authentication does not work--have to reinstall ldapclient each time.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Here are a few things to check:
    1. /var/ldap/ldap_client_file - Does it have the info you're expecting? If not, it could be the config profile in the Direcotry Server is incorrect.

  • RE: Java-based Client for Forte/IIOP

    We have deployed an application using JDK 1.1.6,
    Swing 1.0.3, Visibroker 3.2, and Forte 3.0.G.2.
    We are also using Forte's Java Interoperability
    Service.
    We have a closely-held client base (i.e. not a
    million random yahoos off the internet), so we can
    secure a Java port between client and server and
    download a fairly significant client. The Java
    client is deployed with Sun's JRE (to control the
    environment) with the following configuration:
    2.6 MB JRE
    765 KB Forte.zip
    2.0 MB swingall.jar
    1.6 MB vbjtools.jar, vbjorb.jar
    100 KB application classes
    1) The Swing controls don't interoperate well
    with the AWT and Symantec widgets, especially in
    an internal frame. They paint slowly on top of
    each other, move jerkily, and paint before moving
    to the programmed coordinates so it looks silly.
    100% Swing controls play well with other Swing
    controls and are reasonably fast.
    2) We used Symantec Cafe 2.5a to paint the
    screens, and had some problems with the
    setLayout(null) on things like the Swing tab
    folder and split panel. Commenting out the line
    fixed it, but I'm hoping Cafe 3.0 will fix it (I
    have a person installing it but haven't gotten a
    report...)
    3) The initial search time to turn an IOR file
    into a reference is an annoying 10 seconds, and
    the first method call takes about 7 seconds, but
    after that is less than a tenth of a second.
    Haven't done any digging to find out why yet.
    4) If we were deploying this as an applet, we
    would probably use the IDL IIOP export--when using
    the Java Interoperability service, any method call
    seems to load the whole 765K across the
    line...class by class. Ugly. IDL just gets what
    it needs and is smaller.
    5) Also, if deploying as an applet, we wouldn't
    have to download the JRE or visibroker jar files,
    and would only download the swing and Forte IDL
    generated classes as needed, so it would be a much
    smaller footprint than the 7MB above. (Note:
    However, we would be at the mercy of the browser
    being used by client.) Different strokes for
    different folks...

    Sean,
    My worry is that Swing, while eloquently designed,
    represents an attempt to
    write a totally new display system which, at least
    in the case of my
    project, will run on top of Windows. I really like
    the Java (or a Java-like
    i.e. J++) language, but I feel safer using the
    native MS widgets. It does
    not seem that anyone on this forum has used Swing
    extensively and can
    testify to its stability and performance.
