Java runtime setting for application server

Hi,
I have developed a web service using jax-rpc. I use a HP package Jena2.1 to do onotology file parsing. When I build my web service and compile it there is no problem. I finds all the necessary classes in the Jena package installed on my machine.
Once I deploy the web service and the client makes a call to the method that uses the classes in Jena package, I get the following error on the server.
[#|2004-10-22T16:30:19.201-0400|SEVERE|sun-appserver-pe8.1|javax.enterprise.resource.webservices.rpc.server.http|_ThreadID=16;|caught throwable

The client can access all other methods in the web service except for the method that uses Jena classes.
Could you please let me know the problems I am running into. How come the web service classes can compile and recognize the class but not run later?
Infact I am able to parse files in a java application but as a web services after deployment it fails.
Thanks for any help!!

In the console: Server1 -> JVM Settings -> Path Settings -> Classpath Suffix:. By default the app server ignore the system classpath (the CLASSPATH environment variable).
You can also modify the 'classpath-suffix' attribute in the <java-config> tag in the "server.xml" file in the domain1/server1/config directory (and restart the app server).

  • Need utilities class for application server file system (i.e. unix etc)

I need to do things to directories and files on the application server.
Is there an SAP class with methods for the application server file system (i.e. unix or whatever) with functionality similiar to what is provided by the methods of CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES for the presentation server?
Is there a group of SAP functions for this task?

You may have a look at Thomas Jung article: [sdn contribution : ABAP Server Side File Access, by Thomas Jung|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/7a13f367-0401-0010-47ba-eab0b15cf31c]
Moreover, in release 7.10, it could be possible that SAP introduced input and output stream classes (to mimic java classes), so I guess there could be the ones for application server file system.

    Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle ADF runtime for Websphere. I downloaded the installer from this link http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/ofm_appdev_generic_11.1.1.2.0_disk1_1of1.zip
When I extract and run the installer, I do not see the option for "Application Server Screen" where I am supposed to be able to select websphere option.
Am I using the right installer? Is there any other way to enable the websphere option?
    Thanks,

  • Deploy XI java Proxy inside JBoss application server

    Hello,
Can I deploy XI java Proxy inside JBoss application server
    Appreciate you response.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    <b>Yes</b>
You can deploy your Java Proxy inside JBoss Server (in any Application server). But this will be possible only for Client Java Proxy and not for Server Java Proxy.
I have succesfully completed those scenarios.
After generating Client Java proxy, create EJB application with generated Java classes for proxies and deploy it in JBoss.
Then you can access that EJB to pass inputs either in standalone application or some JSP.

  • Oc4jadmin not working for application server control in SOA suite 10.1.3.1.

    Hi,
We have installed the SOA suite, and I can login to the various components using oc4jadmin/password (bpel, esb, rules author), but for some reason that oc4jadmin password is not working for Application Server Control, which is the only piece of this I really need to log in to.
Any thoughts on what is going wrong?
    Cheers,
    Pat Rock

Maybe you change this password internally for another application (such BPEL, WSM,etc) and didn't make change for your main OC4J container.
You can try to change this password by...
    1. Open the file [OASHome]\j2ee\home\config\system-jazn-data.xml
    2. Find the section that looks like this
    [user]
    [name]oc4jadmin[name]
    [display-name]OC4J Administrator[display-name]
    [guid]88836370D11611DC9F30F9C1CD6F1A73[guid]
    [description]OC4J Administrator[description]
    [credentials]{903}F+iG1A46edXG9RdfY0pD2O4Ge/qyEjsg[credentials]
    [user]
    3. Replace the value separated by the "Credentials" starting and ending tags with your new desired password, prefixed with an exclamation point
    Example:
    [user]
    [name]oc4jadmin[name]
    [display-name]OC4J Administrator[display-name]
    [guid]88836370D11611DC9F30F9C1CD6F1A73[guid]
    [description]OC4J Administrator[description]
    [credentials]!newpassword[credentials]
    [user]
    4. Save the file and restart OAS
This should not affect other applications.
    Greetings.

  • Setting for J2EE server do not exist

    Hi,
I have prepared a web service from a FM.
I can't test it from the WSADMIN since this system is not integrated to a J2EE server. So I get the error message "Setting for J2EE server do not exist"
I am able to generate the WSDL file from Tcode WSADMIN
How can I test this web service from a browser with a J2EE server? If browser not possible then how can I test this web service.
    Thank you,
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
I am not sure if you can test the web services without a J2EE server. For
testing in wsadmin, you do not need the system to be integrated with a J2EE server. Only the details of any J2EE server in the landscape can be given in
    wsadmin -> Goto -> Administration Settings .

  • Windows 2003 and windows 2008 for applications server

    hi all.
i want to know about windows that which one is better for application server 10 R2.
which one is better windows server 2003 or windows 2008?
please if anyone knows about the difference and about the performance please help me out thanks.
    Any suggestion?
    sarah

Well, Sarah, I have used both and I would recommend that Win2K3 is better, not because any fault of the iAS from Oracle but due to some quirks of the Win2K8. There are many updates available for the Win 2003 and it is well patched. To be honest, I have been using Oracle iAS for the last 5 or so years and seriously think that it is not that great product from Oracle and when combined with Windows OS, it really sucks. I have, that is why shifted my iAS to Linux and one to Solaris.

  • TZupdater for the Java Runtime Environment for jdk/jre 1.6

    B"H
    Hi,
I need the TZupdater for the Java Runtime Environment for 1.6, unfortunately the only one that I can find on the Oracle/Java site is :
Java Time Zone Updater Tool 1.3.57
The TZUpdater tool is to enable an Oracle JDK 7 or JRE 7 user to patch their installation with the most recent timezone data
Can someone please point me to the relevant link for JDK 6 or JRE 6
    Thank you in advance
    Yechezkel

    Hello Yechezkel,
You download any version from this link
Timezone Data Versions in the JRE Software
This gives the JRE Update Release release and the corresponding TZUpdater Version

    Hi Eric and Jennifer
A couple of answers to your questions:
    1. LC Forms is just an API - you have to build your own web application (or some other type of application) if you want your users to be able to interact with PDF forms.
    2. You can use Eclipse to build web applications. It's just one of many tools for doing so, but it's a fantastic development environment, and it's free.
    3. Lomboz no longer exists. It has been integrated directly into Eclipse as one of the sub-projects, "WebTools". The easiest way to install web tools is via the Callisto "packaging". This makes sure that you get all the right versions of everything you need. See:
    http://www.eclipse.org/callisto/
    4. The tutorial mentioned still provides some useful information, although names have been changed.
    5. There are lots of books about developing Web Apps in Java, using servlets or JSP.
    6. FormsIVS is just a small sample application that allows you to test rendering or prepopulating a form. It's not intended as an end-user product.
    7. If you're interesting in some assistance, we do provide training, mentoring, and turnky application development. Send an email to info "at" avoka.com if you want more info.
    Good luck...

  • Which adf runtime library version for application server version

After sifting thru this forum and some documentation, I was left a little confused about installing ADF Runtime libraries to the application server we're deploying our ADF applications to. I wanted to get a definitive answer to a couple questions:
    1) We're using Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.2.0. We've been deploying our 10.1.3.3 ADF applications to this application server. If we migrate our 10.1.3.3 ADF application to 10.1.3.4, do we need to install the ADF Runtime libraries (from jdev 10.1.3.4) to the application server before deploying/running our 10.1.3.4 version of the application on that server? If yes, do we need to uninstall the 'old' ADF Runtime libraries first?
    2) How can we tell what jars make up the ADF Runtime libraries?
Thanks for any help you can give. James.

You always need to have a version match between the ADF libraries on your server and the ADF libraries you develop with.
So if you are developing with JDev 10.1.3.4 you need to install the ADF 10.1.3.4 libraries on your server.
You can do this with the ADF Runtime installer or directly from within JDeveloper's tools menu.
You don't need to uninstall the ADF libraries - they'll be overwritten.
The list of jar files is in the ADF Developer Guide:

Or how the url to access these forms will be?
As shown in the following structure consider we have Form1 in sub directory1 as well as in sub-directory2 then how the link to access these forms will be?

    HI
    In JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0,
    1. Click on the tab for the Connections navigator.
    2. Right click on Application Server and select New Application Server Connection.
    3. Enter a descriptive name for the new connection, and select the appropriate connection type from the drop down list. Click Next.
    4. Specify oc4jadmin for User Name, then enter the oc4jadmin password. Click Next.
    5. Select Single Instance for Connect To, then provide the host name where BPEL is installed, the OPMN port number, and the OC4J instance name (the default for 10.1.3.1 is oc4j_soa). Click Next.
    6. Click Test Connection. If you have been successful, you should see "Success!"
    7. Now, right click on Integration Server and select New Integration Server Connection.
    8. Specify a connection name and click Next.
    9. In the drop down list by Application Server, select the Application Server Connection you just created. Again, specify the host name where BPEL is installed and the port number. This port number will be the same that you specified for the Integration Server Connection to the home OC4J container. Click Next.
    10. Test the connection. You should see something like:
    Application Server: OK
    BPEL Process Manager Server: OK
    ESB Server: OK
    11. Now, return to the Applications navigator, and try to redeploy your process using the Integration Server Connection just created. (It is possible that you will have to close JDeveloper and then reopen it for this to work.)
    Cheers

  • Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 Application Server

I'm trying to get the JSE8 Application Server to run as a service. I've read other forum articles and none of them really answered my question. So, I tried to implement the JSE8 server via the JavaServiceWrapper approach (and, I was successful). The only problem is that when I log on and then log off the computer running the application server, the application server stops.
So, I have several questions. One is, "why does the application server stop when it detects a user logoff, especially if the user it was started under wasn't even the one logging off?"
The second question is where is the documentation mentioned in other e-mails regarding how to set up the JSE8 server as a service per Sun's guidelines (I can't find it anywhere; a web link would be most helpful here).
Finally, is Sun planning on changing this so the JSE8 application server runs as a "real" service to make deployment much easier in a Windows environment (like version 7 did)?

From what I can tell about the Java EE 5 SDK beta is that it still requires the SC.EXE method of installating a windows service. I got the "JavaServiceWrapper" method to work (well, not perfectly, but it works thanks to the hint provided by the first respondent (using the -Xrs switch in the JVM on the Application server). Then, I created a JSE8Server.conf file, as required by the JavaServiceWrapper (from http://wrapper.tanukisoftware.org). Here's the conf file as I wrote it (note that this is all hard-coded based on install directories, etc.) But, it does allow you to point to a specific JVM (see wrapper.java.command line) and does allow anyone to log on and off the Windows system without shutting down the application server (domain).
The only problem with this is that that java service basically runs to start the service and then dies. The application server is then spawned on new disassociated Process IDs; so, without writing some more code to periodically ask the application server if he's "up", there is no automatic restart capability...at least from the service's span of control.
