Java's LinkedList Class

Question

I'm having trouble just starting a linked list. How do I use this class? and how do I add an element to the list? I know this class is in the java.util.LinkedList
librairy.

Here is the code I got so far, am I on the right
track?That depends on what you're trying to do. Don't name your class list unless you're actually implementing (as opposed to using a List) and don't name it List anyway because List is the name of an interface in the core API.

    private List chainOfFoos;
    public void buildChain(FooSource source) {
        chainOfFoos = new LinkedList();
        while (source.hasMoreFoos()) {
            Foo foo = source.nextFoo();
            chainOfFoos.add(foo);
} And yes, LinkedList is very much like ArrayList. It's also a lot like a simple array.
