Java SDK version 5 update 5 incompatible with J2ME WTK1.0.4_02? Help!

Hi guys,
Total newb here, and frustrated beyond measure at my own ignorance. I'm trying to write some basic java apps for a cellphone.
I have downloaded the latest Java SDK from Sun, and the Wireless Development Toolkit.
Sadly, following the instructions to the letter, the demos all fail to compile with an error
javac: target release 1.1 conflicts with default source release 1.5I've spent the last three hours combing this forum and the web for a solution and I'm stumped. The best advice I've found is to download the 1.4.2 SDK (but that doesn't appear to be available any more... anyone?) or to some command line arguments like -source or -target. Problem there is that the WTK doesn't seem to provide the option of passing arguments to the compiler.
Could somebody please put me out of my misery and advise me what the best way past problem is?

Java script--Version 6, update 21. Is this legitimate?

I keep getting a message that I MUST! make a critical update to Java script--Version 6, update 21. The only way I can get out of it is by foreced quit. Is this legitimate?

Post a screenshot, & confirm that Software Update isn't showing any new updates.
You should also typically Un-check Safari - Preferences - Security - Allow Java unless you're on a trusted site that requires it.

CF8 Flex SDK Version and Update

I'm new to Flex so this is probably a basic question. When
creating a new Flex project I have an option, under the Flex SDK
version (properties of the particular project) to select either a
specific SDK or the server's SDK. Now I have CF8 installed as my
application server. Is there a way to tell what version of the Flex
SDK is installed with CF8? If it's an older version, or when Flex 3
SDK is finalized, how do I go about "upgrading" the Flex SDK in the
CF8 install?

Java SDK 1.5.0 beta problems with enough RAM

Hello,
The SDK runs on a opteron (64 bit) with 6 GB RAM. I installed j2sdk-1_5_0-beta-linux-amd64.bin for this machine. When I start to run an application then 3 GB RAM (3 GB "-Xmx3g) it works. But when I try to launch the app with more than that, I get the following message
"Error occurred during initialization of VM
Incompatible initial and maximum heap sizes specified"
and when I try to to specify with 3.5 GB ("-Xmx3500m") I get the message:
"Exception in thread "CompilerThread0" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: requested 32744 bytes for ChunkPool::allocate. Out of swap space?"
What is the problemwith that... no idea...

are you sending the "-d64" option to invoke the 64 bit data model? might help...

Current version of Creative cloud incompatible with OSX.9

I'll leave set as question so more people will view it.
About 3 hours ago I finished upgrading to Mavericks (OSX.9.x). When resatrt after install Creative Cloud was marked and moved to an incompatible Application. It was the only program of all applications I have loaded on my computer that was marked as such.
The gold version of Maverick version was pushed to all software companies about 4 weeks ago. So adobe has had plenty of time to come out update.
Need to get on the stick and fix this now your Mac users of Creative Cloud now can't.

TS3694 itunes will not install on my laptop any more. The latest update seems incompatible with Windows Vista.

The latest iTunes update will not install on my HP laptop with Windows Vista. There is a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error message and it will not load or set p.

I reinstall Quicktime and it would not launch and gave me the same error messages.
We'd better check to see if some other application has stashed old versions of QuickTime componentry down in your system files.
So we'll go looking for the older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, open the "System32" folder.
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

Java Studio Creator 2 Update 1 - Problems with Calendar component

I just made a very simple webapplication, consiting of 2 webpages. Webpage 1 has a button that sends the user to webpage 2. That works fine. When I add a calendar from the components palette, and select a date thats in 2010, I keep getting redirected to page 1 when I press the button that should send me to page 2. I don't even try to access the selected date from the calendar. When I select a date in 2009, it all works fine. I don't see any exception, not on screen, not in the server log. I'm using the Sun Application Server that comes with Studio Creator.

Ok, I now know what my foot tastes like. Have personally verified that the calendar component in JSC 2 update 1 accepts dates (at least) 1970 - 4100. With this range you can see that there some work going on in the background but performance is adequate (a second or two delay). Considering that this is a ridiculous range the Calendar component performs well.
I dug up my old copy of JSC EA 2 and that calendar component seems to have a 9 year range with no settable minDate maxDate.
I appear to have deleted my copy of JSC EA [1] but I guess this must be where I had a poor experience of the component. I'm fairly sure this had a minDate / maxDate property and if they were set too far apart it caused heap space problems. I guess I made a mental note not to try this again and never have since. Anyway, it's irrelevant because the Calendar Component works right now and that's what counts. My apologies to all concerned.

Adobe Flash Update infected Firefox with tons of viruses. Help!

I got with one of those annoying fake Adobe Flash Updates, and unfortunately fell for it and installed it, which has infected Firefox (and Chrome, and IE, for that matter) with tons of viruses that I CANNOT get rid of. I'm on a Windows 7 PC.
Basically, what they do:
- Adds "Enhanced Text" everywhere (text is underlined and leads to an ad)
- Adds unwanted banners on sites
- Frequent pop-ups
- Redirects my searches (Google is essentially unusable)
- Can't log-in to certain sites (eBay)
The last two are really killing me and making the internet very hard to enjoy. I've run Malwarebytes several times (first a quick scan, then a full scan), as well as TDSSKiller. Both detected malware and deleted them, but nothing changed. As per the internet's advice, I've tried disabling all my extensions/plug-ins, but doing that didn't help either - many reference specific extensions that cause these problems, like "CCodec" or "ghostery" but nothing like that appears in my add-ons menu. I went into Programs and Features and uninstalled anything suspicious-looking (which somehow lead to half that list disappearing? All my programs are still there, but for whatever reason that list shortened significantly), and still nothing.
I'm really at a loss here. None of my browsers are working properly and nothing I do seems to help.

Looks like you need to be locked and loaded for a virus to come, or just avoid it.
Can you try those scans in safe mode? Safe mode likely will prevent the malware from running at all during the safe mode session.

Iphone not updating or syncing with PC when on wifi - help?!

I have connected my iphone to my laptop (not a mac). It connects however with the upgrade to the new itunes I can't find out how I can change my playlists on the pc and then update to the phone accordingly. Any tips greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Just a quick snapshot of my chain of events. I’m currently on my fourth iPhone 6 Plus 64GB here in London, UK. Every time I have spoken to AppleCare and told them that I have gone through all the Wi-Fi troubleshooting methods possible they have asked me to get a brand new retail replacement as I’m within my 14 day return period. I’ve been experiencing the following issues:
Wi-Fi disconnects and switches to 4G (Restart required for temp fix)
Wi-Fi is still active but there is no traffic or activity– often when in sleep mode for long periods of time. (Toggle Wi-Fi on/off for temp fix)
Wi-Fi disconnects and cannot find any networks (restart required for temp fix)
This has been occurring on both iOS 8 and 8.0.2
The issues are the same on both my 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks
This is affecting my ip6+ and 5s (5s used to work perfect on ios7 on same networks) – My MBP-R and all other devices run perfectly on my network.
I spoke to AppleCare again yesterday and asked for their advice as its now my fourth iPhone in just under a month. This time they said that apple were fully aware of the Wi-Fi problem and that new repair tickets were not being raised for their engineers as they are already working hard to get this resolved. They also said they could see all the issues raised on the apple discussions boards which they usually don’t admit too! I asked what to do next and the advisor apologised and said this is clearly a software glitch and will be resolved in the next update. I asked for a timescale but unfortunately none was given.
As stated above I have tried all the troubleshooting methods discussed on forums and on tech websites but the only thing that gives me a stable connection without any disconnects (especially on my 6 plus) is turning cellular/mobile data off when I know I’m going to be on Wi-Fi for a sustained period of time (e.g. at home or work). I appreciate this is annoying but it’s the best temp fix until an update comes out.
Hope it helps everyone who is having issues with their devices that have cellular functionality.

Updating a site with two programs...HELP?

I recently took over our website and I am continuing to have errors with the file activity saying that it is incomplete. I was just curious if having more than one person making changes to the site would affect this. I am using CS5.5 for a PC and she is using CS3 with a Mac. We both get the same error message. Could this be our problem? It works some of the time but not always (like emergency situations!) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I will check with our system admin to make sure everything is okay. Any idea how I would find out who that is? We started with a consulting company who started our website a couple of years ago and it has went through about 3 people now...
That's a pretty scary statement there. Usually it's an IT person in the company who handles this for you or sometimes it's dumped on a marketing person's desk. Someone higher up in your company should have server access (not just FTP access) where they can setup permissions. It's probably the person who set up the FTP account.
I am pretty sure we are using the same credentials.I dont know if that is an issue.
This could definitely be the issue, especially if you say during "emergencies". If you are both on and trying to log in it will keep kicking you both out. Think of it as a system without a busy signal.
Hopefully that will start working for you if not feel free to post back.

If you're using SQL Server 2008 and up, use MERGE command to incorporate your conditions into one command.
Other wise change your query

10.5.0.142 update incompatible with windows 7

I unfortunately updated my desktop (windows 7 32 bit) and laptop (windows 7 64 bit) to itunes 10.5.0.142. Update seems incompatible with windows 7. It has slowed both computers to a crawl, even when itunes not running. Itunes functions do not work or process at a dead crawl. Cannot access the store. Cannot sync iphone. Tried reinstalling previous itunes version, but previous version can't access itunes library, giving error message: "cannot access itunes library that was created by newer version of itunes." Have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes multiple times. Have turned off all other processes to look for incompatibility, but issues remain. I am NOT PLEASED!.
