Java wont run properly!

Hi,
I have downloaded the updates for Java and made sure the preferences are correct. Java isnt much help at all! It runs Java programs but not dailyfx.com graphs?! It just shows the Java logo. Is there something I need to download or correct?
Thanks

Thanks for popping in. I hadn't clicked on the charts link. When I did, all charts and currency items work as advertised.

  • HT201210 I disconnected my iPhone in the middle of an iTunes update. Now it wont run properly what do I do?

    I disconnected my iPhone in the middle of an iTunes update. Now it wont run properly what do I do?  I was working online and I recieved a pop up from iTunes stating that there was an harwared update for my iPhone. I had it plugged up for a while , long enoung for me to watch a tv show have dinner and come back.  I thought the update was complete and came back to the computer and unplugged it. The next morning I saw a picture of aUSB cord  and the iTunes icon. I have no use of my phone and cannot get access to emails, internet contacts..nothing . Help !

    Well it should NEVER be unplugged when doing something.
    It actually had not installed the software at that stage, it had been copied over to the iPhone, it was being checked and then it would be installed.
    You need to connect your iPhone to the computer at home and hope that you can install the software again and then restore your backup.
    If you install iTunes at work you may be able to Restore the software but you will most likely lose the content on your iPhone as you do not have a backup to restore on that computer, or all your media / apps.

    Hi,
    I wasn't sure if this thread had already been closed or not, but if its still open, I'd like to chime in with some comments of my own, as well.
    I too have been experiencing very similar issues with my edition of Safari for Windows. I am running Windows Vista Basic, and my version of Safari is 4.0.4.
    I followed the instructions you gave to the person who started this thread, and after restarting Safari, I am still receiving the same error I was receiving before. Here is what the error says:
    _+*"Pogo.com games use the Java plug-in. You either do not have Java installed or you have a version that is incompatible with our games. It does not cost you anything to install Java.*+_
    _+*Do you want to install the Java plug-in now?"*+_
    Well, I know for a fact that I have Java installed on this machine, and it has been enabled for use with Safari.
    Here is the version of Java which I have presently installed on my machine. Aside from v. 17, I also have versions 1-7, which all show enabled as well.
    Name Java Plug-in 1.6.0_17
    Publisher Sun Microsystems, Inc.
    Status Enabled
    File date Sunday, October 11, 2009, 4:17 AM
    Version 1.6.0.17
    I have attempted (more times than I can remember) uninstalling and then re-installing Java on this machine, and I am still receiving this same error.
    Can you please help?
    Thanks!

    Which version of Java do you see on Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins?
    Is this the latest 7U51 version?
    Note that you can get a possibly colored Lego icon on the left end of the location bar that indicates that Firefox is blocking a plugin.

  • CS4 wont run properly

    My sister just installed Contribute CS4 on her new iMac running 10.5.6. But when we open CS4 and finally get the Software Setup screen all we get is the spinning colored wheel and it will not let us use the trial OR enter the serial number!! The "Next" button remains dimmed and we eventually have to force quit CS4!!! This happens every time we try and run CS4.....!!!!!
    What is wrong with this software?????? Looks like more slow bloatware from Adobe....
    Jeff

    Upgrade your version of MAC software to 10.5.7.

  • Java 1.4.1 will compile clean but it wont run them using windows ME

    haveing trouble setting the path and the class path for windows me
    the code compiles clean but when i go to run it
    its wont run it comes up with a error of no class defination found
    thanks dkunze

    The Windows path is a set of pointers that Windows uses to locate programs that you execute, like javac.exe and java.exe. This setting is explained here:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/install-windows.html
    Scroll down to: 5. Update the PATH variable
    (you should have already done this as part of the Java installation)
    The CLASSPATH is another set of pointers that is used by Java to find the files that you create and want compiled and/or run. This setting is explained here:
    Setting the Classpath:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/tooldocs/windows/classpath.html
    [NOTE: always start your classpath with ".;" which means the current directory. See my classpath, below]
    How Classes are Found:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/tooldocs/findingclasses.html
    Examples:
    This is my path
    PATH=C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;C:\BATCH;C:\J2SDK1.4.1\BIN;C:\PROGRA~1\UTILIT~1;C:\PROGRA~1\WIN98RK
    This is my classpath

  • Java applications wont run

    I am a student in a programming class, we are learning to create, compile, and run programs using Textpad and Java. When I create programs, I compile them but then when I try to run them and error message appears. "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError" What do I do to make my programs run?
    Please help and use simple explanation cuz I am new to programming.
    Thanks :)

    Try this:
    Use the command line to compile and run your program.
    It's easy, just Start->Run and type "cmd" in the Run prompt.
    Then use the "cd" command to locate the folder in wich your .java files are (example: as it usually starts in your user folder "C:\Documents and Settings\myUsername", all you'll have to type is, for example: cd "desktop\myProyect" asuming you have your files in a folder named myProject in your desktop).
    Then, since you already set your enviroment variables (the Path variable), you just have to type "javac ConvertCelsius.java". This will compile your file and all your custom classes that are imported.
    Then, type "java ConvertCelsius" (without the .java) to run it. I'm telling you this becouse I think your problem is more related to the textPad configuration that with the compiler itself. If you do this and you don't get any errors, then better check your textPad config...

  • Itunes wont load properly

    Hi,
    My Itunes 11.0.04 wont load properly on my Macbook running 10.7.2. Once i click on the itunes icon it flashes up and dissapears, the music still plays but i cant actually see the itunes interface at all.
    Having trouble finding anything about this.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks

    Hello TThorn450,
    Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    I understand you are having some issues with iTunes on your MacBook. You may want to isolate the issue further by testing to see if it persists in a new user account:

    You can also try starting iTunes in safe mode:

  • Itunes wont install properly? please help!!

    hello,
    iTunes is being very difficult atm! reinstalled the iTunes software and the error message comes 'iTunes wont install properly...'.
    I have run a diagnostics test and hoping someone can point in the direction of how to fix it! cannot even connect my iphone device to it.
    please help!
    thanks

    For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • System 'CE3' is not available. Make sure it is running properly.

    hi,
    im in CE 7.1 EHP 1. when im trayin to assig a Role to a new task in my process Model i get the error http 502. so i went to  Process Instance Tab where i got the error System 'CE3' is not available. Make sure it is running properly.
    whatever in windows-->preferences SAP AS Java i have the intance and in Server tab i can see is with status STARTED.
    any Idea?
    Thanks.

    Hi Rodrigo,
    The HTTP error code 502 is 'Bad gateway'. I also experienced this once or twice when I configured a certain proxy (or proxy script) that wasn't able to resolve that host. Try bypassing the proxy or using a special proxy for your host CE3 in the Proxy Settings of your NWDS.

  • Repaint not running properly when called in another class/actionlistener

    I've got this code that is suppose to call and create a JPanel
    (The frame and timeframe variables were declared statically at the beginning of the class)
    When I call the runGame1 method from the main, the code runs fine and my JPanel is being repainted with the time and pictures, but when I can this runGame1 method from an ActionListener/actionPerformed method, it doesn't repaint properly and the while loop is running properly but I think there isn't enough resources for the method to actually paint my JFrame?? The JFrames open but nothing is painted.
    Anyone know what I can do?
    More Info........................
    Basically my program contains a title JFrame and 2 game JFrames, I want to be able to call the game JFrames from the title JFrames and go back and forth from the JPanels.
    The title JFrame consists of just components such as JLabels and JButtons.
    One of the game JFrames consists of JLabels, JTextFields and JButtons, basically the method generates random numbers and an arithmetic operation that the user has to calculate and enter in the program and the program checks if its correct or not.
    One of the game JFrames consist of a paint method that paints circles and the user has to click on it and when a circle is clicked on, it is repainted to not show the circle.(a coordinate system is used etc etc)
    public static void runGame1(){
              k=20;
              kcolor=2;
              fillcolor();
              checkcolor();
              frame = new Circlepix();
              timeframe = new TimerPanel();
              time1 = System.currentTimeMillis();
              //Repaints the count down
              while((60-seconds)>0){
                   try{
                        Thread.sleep(1000);
                   catch(InterruptedException e){
                   timeframe.repaint();
                   System.out.println("aaa");
              timeframe.dispose();
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
                   if (e.getActionCommand().equals("Reset Scores"))
                        game1score=0;
                        game2score=0;
                   else if(e.getActionCommand().equals("Speed Circles")){
                   mainframe.dispose();
                   runGame1();
              }

    main is running in a different thread (the main thread)
    action events are sent via the event dispatch thread, and painting is done on the event dispatch thread.
    You should always be calling your runGame1 method from a separate thread of your own, so you don't block the event dispatch thread and painting

    Please help. I have spend many hours/days with this annoying problem

    Hello dedk,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
    Try these To resolve the issue in Windows, follow these steps:
    1. Run “c:\WINDOWS\system32\devmgmt.msc” (i.e. Device Manager), and leave it open for now for later use
    2. Start up iTunes
    3. Next, connect your iPod.
    4. Go to your iPod Settings and select the “Enable disk use” option from under the Summary tab.
    5. A dialog box will pop up reminding you that you’ll need to manually eject. Go ahead and hit OK
    6. Hit Apply to save changes to the iPod
    7. Quickly switch to the Device Manager window and right-click on any item within the window and select “Scan for hardware changes”
    8. Finally, switch back to iTunes, and try re-syncing your iPod to see if it helped.
