Java2d opengl pipeline not working

Hi,
I've asked this on multimedia forum, but I think that this could be more accurate place, I hope that you will help me
I've installed arch on my machine, and catalyst drivers.
fgl_glxgears are @ 600 FPS
fglrxinfo returns no errors.
when I run something elese written in java with opengl, everything works just fine.
but, when I use java2d and
-Dsun.java2d.opengl=true
I can't get any output, java isn't drawing anything...
it works on ubuntu machine, but not on arch... It's AMD zacate e350 + HD 6310.
output is same when I set J2D_TRACE_LEVEL=4, no errors, just
GL_NV_fragment_program = false
I tried with openjdk6 and jre, same result.
Please help me!

  • -Dsun.java2d.opengl=True not working

    Hello,
    I'm trying to run java application using -Dsun.java2d.opengl=True, but I
    always get "Could not enable OpenGL pipeline for default config on screen 0".
    I use 1.5.0_04-b05 SE running on WinXP. The graphics controller is
    Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME, driver Nr. 6.14.10.3762.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanx.
    Milan

    Because there is none, then intel chipset has some shortcomings when it comes down to OpenGL.
    This should be clear even when buying such a card.
    In your case I would write Intel an email telling them that java does not run properly. If enough do this maybe we see really fast java in near future...

  • OpenGL does not work on Satellite L30-X10

    Hi there
    I have a Thoshiba Satellite L 30 - X10 running on Vista home basic. I have a ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Video card. I am able to play DVD's and some games that do not require open gl but when I try to play Wolfenstien or call of duty it get the message that It cannot open GL and I must update my drivers.
    I have updated my drivers, It still does not work.
    In the Ati Catylst program it says that I have the card stated above and it gives me the 3d versionof the card but says no version available on the video card even though the device manager says that it is working properly.HELP.
    Can anyone please assist me as I am not familiar with Vista.
    my computer also will create back up points but will not restore on any of my back up points could this be affecting the open gl for gaming as everything else works well.
    Thanks to all who can help

  • Some opengl screensavers not working (maybe rss-glx)

    I am having a problem with some of my opengl screensavers.  The screensaver preview appears black, and when I try to test them they do not appear at all.  I think they are the rss-glx screensavers, but a couple of what I think are rss-glx screensavers work (kind of, they are very choppy).  It shouldn't be a problem, I am using the latest beta nvidia driver (190.18) and the 3D-rendered screensavers (like the ant and gear ones) work just fine, smooth even with high frame rate and lots of objects.  I am using the latest kdemod release.  My graphics card is a quadro nvs 140m.  Here is my xorg.conf (I am trying to use autodetection as much as possible, that may be the problem):
    # nvidia-settings: X configuration file generated by nvidia-settings
    # nvidia-settings: version 1.0 (buildmeister@builder62) Wed Jul 22 16:46:47 PDT 2009

    SubSection "Display"
    Depth 24
    EndSubSection
    EndSection
    And my output from glxinfo | grep rendering is "direct rendering: Yes"
    I have tried it both before and after running rss-glx_install.pl as both user and root.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    I did some more testing.  Two examples of specific screensavers that do not work are cyclone and euphoria (I have two copies of this one, neither work), both in the opengl group.  When the screensaver is started by running its executable, such as running /usr/bin/euphoria, it works fine.  However, the preview in the screensaver system settings area only shows a black box, pushing the "test" button does not do anything, and letting the screensaver start results in a black screen.  So the binary works, and it displays just fine, but for some reason KDE cannot seem to use it.  Also, disabling compositing has no effect.

  • OpenGL support not working

    OpenGL support does not seem to be working on PhotoshopCC.  The HUD color picker does not appear and when I try to rotate the canvas, a message pops up that says the rewuest could not be completed because it only works with OpenGL enabled windows.
    I have two NVIDIA Quadro K600 cards (with up to date drivers), a Cintiq monitor and a new Dell workstation.  I'm using the trial version of Photoshop CC.  (I had to replace my computer recently because the old one died, and rather than reinstalling CS4 I decided to try CC and see how I liked it)
    My machine is a powerful graphics computer, so it ought to be able to handle OpenGL.  Under Preferences/Performance I do have "Use Graphics Processor" checked, but it does not help.

  • OpenGL is not working: KDE4.10.5 RadeonHD7870 xf86-video-ati

    Good evening sirs.
    I am using a fresh installation of KDE 4.10.5, a Radeon HD 7870 graphics card and the xf86-video-ati open source driver.

    Is there any better way to create a "fresh" X installation?

  • [SOLVED] Direct Rendering is not working with Catalyst 8.6-1.

    I own an ATI Radeon X1300, and everything was working flawlessly with Catalyst 8.5-1, and when I updated the drivers, DRI stopped working. It has happened with me in the past, and the only solution I had found then was to downgrade the drivers. I appreciate your help.

    You have to quit X, then rmmod and modprobe the kernel module - you're still using the old one.  (a reboot would technically fix it too)
    # rmmod fglrx
    # modprobe fglrx
    # dmesg | tail
    The dmesg output should say you've successfully loaded the 8.501 driver.

    Hi Guys,
    We have a very particular issue that is happening here in our production environments. Before explaining the issue to you, I will just give a brief of our architecture.
    We are using Weblogic Portal Platform SP4.
    Our current Production Domain Consists of 1 Admin Server and 2 Managed Servers. The managed servers are in a cluster.
    We have two Linux boxes on which the weblogic servers are running. These two machines have IPs: x.x.x.58 and x.x.x.59. Now, the Admin Server and managed Server 1 are started on the machine x.x.x.58 and managed server 2 is started on the machine x.x.x.59. Both the managedServers listen on port 8007.
    This entire setup mentioned in the above paragraph is at a location A (lets say).
    Now, the requests are proxied to the managed server cluster using BEA's Apache plugin residing on Apache. Apache is running on two Linux boxes that are present at a location B.
    Location B is connected to Location A by a dedicated WAN Link.
    Now, before the two Apache servers there is a physical Load Balancer that balances the requests between the two Apache boxes.
    This means that whenever there is a request from the Internet to the weblogic cluster, the load balancer first sends it to either of the Apache servers and then the BEA Apache plugin on that Apache forwards the request via the 2 mbps WAN link to the weblogic cluster.
    Now following is the description of the issue we are facing. We donot know whether the issue is with the plugin or with weblogic server.
    In order that the plugin load balances the requests between the servers in the cluster and for failover, the following entry was put in httpd.conf on both the Apache Servers.
    WebLogicCluster y.y.y.11:8007,y.y.y.13:8007
    Note: Because of the WAN link there is natting used. This implies y.y.y.11 is natted to x.x.x.58 and y.y.y.13 is natted to x.x.x.59.
    Here in lies the issue. When we use this plugin entry the following issue occurs.
    1.     First we go to the home page and login.
    2.     The user is then redirected to a Portal Desktop fitting those credentials.
    3.     Now on this Portal Desktop, invariably whenever we click any of the desktop's links, an HTTP 403 is thrown. This error is thrown because on the desktop there are entitlements so that it cannot be accessed without a user logging in with credentials. But this error indicates that the server is losing the session and entitlement details.
    Why does this happen?
    As a result, we cannot use that plugin entry. The current entry we have is
    WebLogicHost y.y.y.11
    WebLogicPort 8007
    As you can see, here we are only redirecting to one managed server. This entry is not what we want, obviously because if that server fails, the plugin wont know which other server to pass the request on to. Also in this case there is no load balancing.
    Our issues our,
    1. How to resolve this plugin entry issue. How can we use the cluster entry without encountering this HTTP 403 Error?
    3. Consider the following sequence of steps.
    - Request for the home page is served by Apache Server 1
    - User logins in, the login request is sent by the Load Balancer to Apache Server 1 and plugin on Apache Server 1 sends it to the cluster via WAN l ink. Then the internal mechanism works with creating the session id and primary server and secondary server and logs the user in and sends the response via Apache Server 1.
    - Now, the user clicks a link on the desktop. The request now goes to the load balancer and it sends it to Apache Server 2.
    The question is now does the plugin on Apache server 2 correctly understand and send the request to the primary server of that session.
    Pls help me as to giving me some direction in resolving this issue

    From your Xorg.0.log:

    (EE) fglrx(0): incompatible kernel module detected - HW accelerated OpenGL will not work
    You have to quit X, then rmmod and modprobe the kernel module - you're still using the old one.  (a reboot would technically fix it too)
    # rmmod fglrx
    # modprobe fglrx
    # dmesg | tail
    The dmesg output should say you've successfully loaded the 8.501 driver.

  • OpenGL Enabled, but not working (Photoshop CS4)

    I have having a weird problem with Photoshop CS4. First of all, let me give off the specs.
    OS: Windows 7 64 bit
    Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7570 (Driver Version 8.960.11.1000, with latest Catalyst Control Center)
    I use Photoshop CS4 for freelance work, and one of the tools I like to use is the Rotate tool. When I first got my desktop and installed Photoshop, everything worked fine. However, recently I was forced to perform and factory restore on my desktop thanks to a virus.
    Today I started working on something and when I tried using the Rotate tool, it was not working (I go that error window saying it wasn't enabled). I checked the OpenGL settings to see it was enabled. Confused, I restarted Photoshop and tried again with no luck.
    This turned into a search around the internet to see just what is going on, but the only thing I could find was suggesting updating drivers for my graphics card and Adobe, which I have tried with no success. I have found out that some people were having the same trouble as me, but what makes my case odd is that it was working fine before the factory restore.
    Any help would be great.

    Because of ATI's plethora of version information I'm not really sure what Catalyst release your 8.960.11.1000 driver comes from, but I do know that Catalyst 12.4 has some problems working with later versions of Photoshop.  Perhaps Photoshop CS4 isn't too happy with it either.
    The most recent Catalyst release that was known to be good with Photoshop was 12.2 (though it shows up as 12.3 in the status display).  It can be found here:

    Downgrading drivers is a bit more tricky than upgrading them - you have to fully remove the current ones first, then install the older set.

  • GPU OpenGL not working

    OpenGL is not registering my AMD Radeon HD 6800 graphics card. I have all the current updates installed and I tried using my MMO and it worked fine so I'm pretty sure the card isn't the problem. I'm running Photoshop CS5.1 on Windows 7 x64. Please Help!

    I've updated all my AMD drivers from the AMD website. I've opened my MMORPG and it seems to work just fine. Is it a problem between the card and Photoshop or just Photoshop? Dreamweaver seems to be running slow but that might be from the big files I'm using.

  • Parallel not working in pipelined table function?

    I've found this excelent article titled 'Oracle fast parallel data unload into ASCII file(s)' in this blog: http://jiri.wordpress.com/2009/03/18/oracle-fast-parallel-data-unload-into-ascii-files/
    I have compiled the code and created the objects and the directory in my DB
    But when I execute :
    SELECT *
    FROM TABLE(
    DATA_UNLOAD(
    CURSOR(
    SELECT /*+ PARALLEL(A, 2, 1) */
    TABLE_NAME || '|' ||
    COLUMN_NAME || '|' ||
    DATA_TYPE
    FROM MYTABLE A
    'SAMPLE_SPOOL.TXT',
    'DIR_USERS_JIRI',
    'Y',
    'Y' )
    It is suposed to return 2 rows (because of parallel execution), but it just returns 1
    Do I have to do something special in order to make parallel pipelined function work

  • OpenGL ES Textures with alpha layer not working with Colorpointers

    Hey,
    I'm trying to get a texture - that's loaded from a .png file - to fade out gradually. I can load it using the Apple's "Texture2d" class and present it with its own transparency. The problem is when I try to combine that transparency with a color pointer. I'll try to give an example code...
    const GLubyte squareColors[] = {
    128, 128, 128, 128,
    128, 128, 128, 128,
    0, 0, 0, 0,
    0, 0,0, 0,
    glColorPointer(4, GLUNSIGNEDBYTE, 0, squareColors);
    glEnableClientState(GLCOLORARRAY);
    glEnable(GLTEXTURE2D);
    glEnableClientState(GLTEXTURE_COORDARRAY);
    glEnableClientState(GLVERTEXARRAY);
    glTexEnvi(GLTEXTUREENV, GLTEXTURE_ENVMODE, GL_REPLACE);
    glEnable(GL_BLEND);
    glBlendFunc(GLSRCALPHA, GLONE_MINUS_SRCALPHA);
    for (Sprite *element in dynamicBodies) {
    glLoadIdentity();
    [element renderSprite];
    Now, if the original .png happens to be completely opaque, it gets darker and transparent because it gets multi-sampled with the color matrix. But if it has any see-through parts in itself, it does not get affected by the the color.
    I'm sure it has to be possible to change the alpha percentage of an alpha layered texture, but I can't seem to find another way.
    Does anyone happen to know why this does not work, or how it could be accomplished some other way? I would be highly appreciative.

    You set your texture environment mode to GL_REPLACE. The implementation of this feature is to replace the primary color (set via ColorPointer or Color3f) with the sampled texture value, so your color will have no effect.
    Replace the texture env mode with GL_MODULATE, which will multiply the Texture Unit Input Color (==PrimaryColor for Texture Unit 1) with the sampled texture value.
