Javadoc comments for classes included in the sdk

My question is pretty simple: For any class that I come across in the online java documention provided on this site, can I assume if the javadoc page does not include a @since tag, that it has been there since java 1.0?
Specifically, I'm wondering about java.text.ChoiceFormat
Thanks

API of package java.text:
Since: JDK1.1
I guess this includes ChoiceFormat.

  • Sample Javadoc comments for classes or methods using generics?

    Can anyone show me a sample Javadoc comment for a class or a method that uses generics. All my attempts so far ended up in warnings from the Javadoc tool..
    I also looked in the Sun forums, in the Javadoc documentation, but nowhere could I find anything that would help me write correct javadoc comments.
    Any luck for you guys?
    Thanks a lot,
    -Laurent

    Thanks man, sorry it must seem obvious to you, but
    for some reason I couldn't get it to work.No. The first time I also had to ask.
    Now an even more difficult (for me) question: how
    would you refer to that method in a @see or {@link
    ..} javadoc comment?Manually erase the method:
    * The see tag refers to this method
    * @param <T> a type variable
    * @see #foo(Object)
    <T> void foo(T t) {}

  • The Export Frame for Classes specified in the Publish or Export settings

    Hi,
    I have a site I'm currently editing for a client, I'm adding a video element into it, but it doesn't play when I test movie, and when I test scene it gives me this error message:

  • Why aren't some of my SJProfile0 classes included in the deployment?

    Hey all,
    I've seen variations of this question being asked before in this
    discussion forum but none that has helped me.
    I'm developing some stored procedures using SQLJ in JDeveloper
    3.2.3 and I want to deploy them on an Oracle 8.1.7 EE DB.
    However when I preview which classes the Deployment Wizard
    includes (the window entitled Dependencies) based on which .java
    and .sqlj files I check, the xxx_SJProfile0.class files are
    missing for four of the .sqlj files.
    My first guess was that it had to do with the dependencies that
    exist within the package; maybe those four files weren't needed.
    But having gotten a truck load of error messages saying that the
    file xxx_SJProfile0.class is missing has changed my mind.
    Does it have anything to do with circular references between the
    classes? Do you have to specify every dependency manually? Or is
    the cause of my trouble something completely different?
    Is it possible to specify manually which files that will be
    included in the deployment?
    Thank's in advance,
    Johan Behrenfeldt
    Decerno AB

    Hey again,
    I've traced the problem to be that one of the classes causes a
    ORA-29509 error (incorrectly formed Java binary class definition)
    although no errors appear during the compilation.
    That in turn leads to an ORA-04043 error (object does not exist)
    for the class.
    The three other files' not being included in the deployment may
    very well be tha cause of the one which is incorrectly formed.
    Hope this might help in determining the root of all my hassle.

  • Keep javadoc comments in class files

    Hi there,
    is there a way to keep javadoc comments in classfiles?
    Reason: Not any company can spread the source for their algorithms, but as customer requests grow to use it with eclipse, code completion and javadoc, there is a need for such "feature".
    Any ideas? Not documented tricks?

  • How to add a comment for each row on the output of a report?

    I would like to add a comment (field) for each row on the output of report? This comment should to be saved as well. Is there a way i can do that?
    Regards,
    Ram

    Hi Dimitri,
    through the instead of trigger functionality i am able to update the view. This is view is based on different views which should be linked to a table (as you suggested) in which comments can be stored. Hower this table is empty and how to link this table with the view now? I face the following challenge.
    View consists the following columns, for example
    select name, sex, age from test_view
    name sex age
    John M 20
    Anton M 30
    Willy M 40
    shirley F 38
    sharon F 37
    The report has the following output, for example
    name     sex age
    John     M 20
    Anton     M 30
    Willy M 40
    Shirley F 38
    Sharon F 37
    Now i would like to add comment through a button.
    The report layout looks like
    name sex age
    John M 20 <add comment button>
    After submitting the <add comment button> you can enter text which deals with John
    text='John doesnot like me'
    Finally the report display the comment as well
    name sex age
    John M 20 'John doesnot like me' <update/delete comment button>
    Anton M 30 <add comment button>
    Willy M 40 <add comment button>
    Shirley F 38 <add comment button>
    Sharon F 37 <add comment button>
    After submitting the <update/delete button> you can change or delete the entered text.
    I hope this example clears things up.

  • WebLogic looking for class file using the wrong case

    During my ant build, I precompile my JSPs using weblogic.jspc. All of the jars and wars are packaged into an ear and deployed to WebLogic 8.1 on Linux. When I access one of our normal screens, everything is good. Things go wrong when I try to access one of our help screens. We have a base help file that includes another file based on the screen code passed to it. The screen code is used in combination with a HashMap to look up the correct JSP to include. This part goes fine. But when the JSP is included, I get the following error. The best I can figure is that the class file is in mixed case (i.e., SampleHelp00.jsp and SampleHelp00.class), but Weblogic is looking for samplehelp00.class.
    I'm not even where I should begin looking to solve this. Anyone have any ideas?

    Ignore the part about precompiled JSPs being ignored on my development server. Turns out I had a stale cache. I cleared that out and now it recognizes the files.
    The problem with that, is now I'm getting an Error 500 when I try to access the page.

    I passed the -keepGenerated flag to the precompile task in my Ant build so I could look at the line it's choking on, but it's not very helpful. I'm stuck. I can set up the build so it doesn't precompile the JSPs, but then the QA team wouldn't like me very much.

  • Getting javadoc comments of the base class

    Hi,
    I have a class Foo1, and a class Foo2 which extends Foo1.
    All the method are implemented in Foo1, Foo2 simply extends this class and does not override any of the methods. Is it possible that I could get the javadoc comments for all the methods in Foo2. I have a requirement to do this.
    Please let me know, how we can achieve this.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Yes, you can easily do this by writing a doclet. Read the documentation at:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/javadoc/index.html
    This will teach you how to write a doclet:

    The API you should learn is:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/javadoc/doclet/index.html
    If you have a ClassDoc representing Foo2, you can get all the methods comments by calling ClassDoc.superClass().methods(). That would return you all the methods in Foo1, which have the method comments you want since they are inherited by Foo2.

  • Where can I find the javadoc api for JavaConcurrentProgram related classes

    Hello,
    I am new to Oracle EBS. I want to use Java Concurrent Program. I found a few links how to write the program. But I could not find the java doc for the classes that are used, for example, JavaConcurrentProgram, CpContext etc. Would someone please tell me where I can find the javadoc api for those classes? And also where do the corresponding jar file/files reside on the server?
    thanks.

    Hello, Ajay,
    I read both of metalinks before. One is example and the other is FAQ. None of them have link to the javadoc api for the JavaConcurrentProgram related classes. I am looking for the javadoc api for the classes related to the java concurrent program. I did find some javadoc api for class like oracle.apps.fnd.common.Context from jdeveloper. But I could not find any javadoc api for oracle.apps.fnd.cp.request.* and oracle.app.fnd.util.* etc.

  • Are there Apple translated (i18n) resource files ("out-of-the-box") for Objective C?  In the SDK?

    Hello, experts:
    From previous experience, I know that both Adobe and Oracle provide some "out-of-the-box" translations for their respective UI language.  I'm new to Apple development and Objective C and looking to determine if any such localization support is provided by Apple for Objective C.  Hint:  Thinking it might be either included in the SDK or downloadable but I could not find any such information.  Does Apple provide any translated resources?
    Thank you in advance for your help.

    To follow up on Tom's advice, if you go directly to the downloads directory:
    https://developer.apple.com/internationalization/downloads/
    There are resource files meant to be used by the old AppleGlot that provide a lot of Apple's translations.

  • ASDoc, why are features missing in the SDK?

    I've been using ASDoc for a project of mine and I've been really trying to extract some of the functionality I see in Adobe's documentation. I've noticed that there is a lot of functionality that is either missing portions to work right, or disabled altogether. Is there a reason the full version of ASDoc is not included in the SDK?
    Some of the features I'm most concerned with is local search, being able to search my documentation without using LiveDocs. I noticed there is JavaScript setup to handle a local search, but you can't enable it. I hardcoded it on, but it then references a search.html which is not included in the templates or generated by Saxon or ASDoc, so i'm confused on where this is supposed to come from.
    Another big feature i'm curious about is setting a description for the overview.html page. This would be like settings comments for -package but at the Top level. there are a handful of references to overview.html in the templates, but again. Neither Saxon or ASDoc generate this. But if you go to Adobe's site, their overview.html page has the auto-generated footer so their version of ASDoc must generate the file.
    Other misc features I've stumbled across were conventions, appendixes, top level, @author, and @review. All which aren't enabled but work in some fashion or another.
    If i could just get those two main features enabled somehow it would be SUPER AWESOME. But at the least, why is all this functionality disabled/broken in the latest sdk?
    - gabriel

    Hi Gabriel,
    Features like local search etc are not available because no one has asked for them so far. Feel free to log an enhancement request at http://bugs.adobe.com/flex.
    The other request to set package description via overview.html seems similar to http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-19755, currently you can do this via Overviews_Base.xml, but when the feature request is implemented you would be able to do it using a config option.
    >> Other misc features I've stumbled across were conventions, appendixes, top level, @author, and @review. All which aren't enabled but work in some >> fashion or another.
    This is intentional, so we can generate asdoc faster by avoiding extra transformation processing. The current asdoc tool targets the most common use cases. If you feel these are important to you, please log enhancement requests.

  • Opinions on javadoc and wrapper classes

    I have several wrapper classes (in this case, wrappers for InputStream) that override all of the methods, but only a few of the methods overridden have important changes. The rest of the methods behave as described in the original contract (in this case, the various InputStream.read() methods).
    I would like to hear some opinions regarding documenting these methods. Any javadoc I write for them would be nearly identical or even copy/pasted from the original javadoc. The javadoc comment for the whole class clearly says that the class follows the contract for the wrapped class, and as such the overrideen methods will work as such.
    Is it reasonable to ask that someone reading the javadoc for this class should refer back to the wrapped class' API documentation, or should I copy (or paraphrase) the description from the original API documentation?

    I like the idea of @see, but since I'm just javadoc'ing my classes, @see doesn't link, which in this case, eliminates some of the usefulness. Here's a concrete example:
    /* ************ Normal ************ */
    available
    public int available()
    throws java.io.IOException
    Overrides:
    available in class java.io.InputStream
    Throws:
    java.io.IOException
    /* ************ @see ************ */
    available
    public int available()
    throws java.io.IOException
    Overrides:
    available in class java.io.InputStream
    Throws:
    java.io.IOException
    See Also:
    InputStream.available()
    /* ************ JDK in sourcepath ************ */
    available
    public int available()
    throws java.io.IOException
    Description copied from class: java.io.InputStream
    Returns an estimate of the number of bytes that can be read (or skipped over) from this input stream without blocking by the next invocation of a method for this input stream. The next invocation might be the same thread or another thread. A single read or skip of this many bytes will not block, but may read or skip fewer bytes.
    Note that while some implementations of InputStream will return the total number of bytes in the stream, many will not. It is never correct to use the return value of this method to allocate a buffer intended to hold all data in this stream.
    A subclass' implementation of this method may choose to throw an IOException if this input stream has been closed by invoking the InputStream.close() method.
    The available method for class InputStream always returns 0.
    This method should be overridden by subclasses.
    Overrides:
    available in class java.io.InputStream
    Returns:
    an estimate of the number of bytes that can be read (or skipped over) from this input stream without blocking or 0 when it reaches the end of the input stream.
    Throws:
    IOException - if an I/O error occurs.
    /* ********************* end javadoc stuff *************** */
    Because of the Overrides bit, the @see tag isn't really adding anything new. The inherited comment is clearly labeled as such, which is a big plus to me (give credit where credit is due).

  • How one can interpret entries in table TRDIR for classes?

    Hi Gurus,
    I'm going through table TRDIR I would like to know where I can find information about endings of objects names. For example when I have entry like:
    ZCLASS_NAME===========CM001
    I know this is a method with index 001 for which  I can find name in other table, but what about other endings like:
    ZCLASS_NAME===========CI
    ZCLASS_NAME===========CCDEF
    ZCLASS_NAME===========CU
    I would be grateful for any hints
    BR

    Hello Marcin
    If you are already working on ECC 6.0 then have a look at class CL_OO_INCLUDE_NAMING.
    Call its method GET_INSTANCE_BY_CIFKEY (SE24, test mode) and the click on the created instance of this class.
    When you now click on  the interfaces (e.g. IF_OO_CLASS_INCL_NAMING) you see the naming conventions for class includes.
