JavaDoc on Oracle specific classes

Dear all,
As a new user of the JDeveloper IDE I have some problems finding my way arround.
Can anybody tell me where I can find the javadoc for all the oracle specific java classes (i.e. everything inside the packages oracle.jbo.html.*, oracle.jbo.*)?
This would make my life already a lot easier.
Thanks a lot!
Dirk Maes

It is located in <your JDev home>\jdev\doc\ohj\bc4jjavadoc.zip.
Btw, I've downloaded the DocLinks extension from
http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/content.html
which helps me a lot.

  • Javadoc for oracle java classes

    Hi there!
    Is there anywhere a Javadoc for all Oracle Java Packages? I've found a Javadoc for oracle.forms.Jdapi, but it would be useful to get a Javadoc for all Oracle classes
    thx
    Christian

    Hi,
    some of teh JavDocs are contained in the JDeveloper online help, others are available in the documentation

    If you are aftre Forms related Javadocs, the Oracle Forms UI docs are not published

  • How to modify a specific class in jar file ?

    I've downloaded a jar file for applet, the jar file works fine... but when I extract a specific class file from the jar file and just recompie it from my IDE (Eclipse) without even making any change and then compress again jar class files including the new modified class file instead of the old one (without any modifications to other classes)... then I get
    (NoSuchMethodError ) exception whenever methods of other classes are invoked from within the modified class !!
    ...The manifist file of the jar file reads the following line
    Created-By: 1.4.0_01 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    I thought it means that jar class files were built using JDK 1.4.0_01 ...I used JDK 1.5.0_01 in my IDE...
    I thought JRE incompatiblity was the reason of the problem so I downloaded JRE 1.4.0_01 and used it to build this class file... but i got the same exception..
    so what is the main reason of the problem ? ...should I make changes to IDX files accompanying applet jar files ??
    If no, then how can I overcome this problem and be able to change and rebuild a specific class from this jar file ?
    (I cannot rebuild all classes in jar because there are errors I cannot resolve !!)

    Could you please clarify: do you want to run your project or a project from an independent jar?
    In the first case just select Run Project from the project context menu or select a class with main method and click Run File in the class context menu.
    Regarding the second case:
    - I don't think there is such a feature in the IDE (running third party jars is not an IDE function). Could you explain why you need this?

  • To More Specific Class & Plugin Architecture

    Hello there,
    I have a plugin architecture and I want to load a particular class on demand, when a user clicks a button etc.
    I can do this using 'Get LV Class Default Value.vi' knowing the path of the .lvclass file, and I can then use the 'To More Specific Class' vi to cast it from type LV Object to the specific class I know it to be.
    However if I have 30 different classes with this method I would have to have 30 different class constants in a case structure so I can cast to the right one.  This works but it means all the classes are loaded into memory when the program is run, even though the user may never want to use most of them, which is a waste of time/memory.
    Is there a better way of doing this please?
    Thanks,
    Martin

    I wonder if minute 4:00 in Michael's video will help you. It avoids the constants, as long as all the classes are descendants of a common class:

  • JaxB Javadoc on elements of classes generated

    I am using JaxB 1.0 and having problems getting Javadoc into the generated classes. I can get the javadoc from the xsd file into the generate class at the class level but not have the get setter level
    Below is a listing of what I have been able to get to compile but it does nothing to generate in the class on the following methods.
    void setInEjbContext(boolean value);
    com.acxiom.arch.configuration.schemaobjects.base.ContainerDatasources getContainerDataSources();
    <xsd:element name="UseActivationKeySecurity" type="xsd:boolean" default="true">
    <xsd:annotation>
    <xsd:appinfo>
    <jaxb:property>
    <jaxb:javadoc>
    When set to true KBA will use SECURITY_ROLE in the activation key params table associated with the service and check security.
    </jaxb:javadoc>
    </jaxb:property>
    </xsd:appinfo>
    </xsd:annotation>
    </xsd:element>

    That did not help. I can't get JaxB to put the java doc comments on elements in the generate classes. I can get package level and class level comments but not element level.

  • To more specific class: Cant find strict numeric, only numeric

    Im trying to read a control property by reference from some controls that are in a cluster.
    I want to cast the property's reference to a more specific class: strict numeric, but I can only find 'Numeric' which leaves me with variant data.
    Any help?
    Solved!

    Hello,
    I think you can't (not fully sure though). What you can do is get the "Representation" property, that tells you if it's I32 or DBL or else (as an enum) and with this information you can get the value from the variant.

  • To more specific class for waveform chart

    Dear All
    In the attached VI diagram the "To more specific class" gives an error messag:
    LabVIEW:  Type mismatch: Object cannot be type casted to the specified type.
    so it can not work for my waveform chart. I think I changed some properties or some thing similar for my chart that can not work with this routine because it works for new instances of waveform charts but whatever I try to find the difference between my waveform chart and a new instance of waveform chart I don't not find any difference.
     Do you have any clue?

  • Oracle-specific deployment descriptor

    Hi all
    does anybody know how i can edit the oracle deployment descriptor while using JDeveloper 3.2 to deploy. I need to add an ejb-reference, wich has to be mapped in the oracle specific descriptor. I tried to do it manually but everytime when i depoly, jdeveloper overwrites my changes during the deployment.
    thanks for help...

    Hello!
    I4m just trying to do the same thing: including ejb references in the oracle descriptor, but it erases any line I include as soon as I start deploying.
    Have you solved the problem?.If so, could you give me a clue?.
    By the way, I imagine that the references have to be included in the EJB which is calling, and not in the one that is to be called.But I don4t really understand how is the name of the ejb to be called introduced in that enviroment directory.
    Thanks in advance!!!
    Pepa.

  • Where are javadoc for Oracle 8?

    Wow, this site is so horrendous. I am constantly going around my elbow to get to my a__. We use Oracle 8i. We are not using 9. I would like to download the correct jar with the Oracle drivers for Java 1.4.1 and Oracle 8i and also the JavaDoc for Oracle. I am amazed at how difficult it is to find something so simple. Can anyone help me out?
    Thank you very much
    Marc Respass

    If you go to the Downloads icon on the top right-hand corner, you can get to the downloads section. Oracle JDBC drivers is an option there.
    I don't believe that there were 8i JDBC drivers for the 1.4 JDK. You should be able to use the 9i drivers to connect to an 8i database, but you would need the 9i client if you're using the OCI driver. The 8.1.7 JDBC drivers only had support for the 1.1 and 1.2 JDK's.

  • ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor uses Oracle specific in EJB Server

    I use Pramati EJB Server. It is EJB 1.1 compatible. I can use getCustomDatum calls without any error (even though it is Oracle specific). But I can't use setCustomDatum. It throws me ClassCastException error.
    My line looks like
    ((OraclePreparedStatement) pstmt).setCustomDatum(...)
    So I tried different method to acheive the same. That is to use Loosely Typed method setArray.
    To use setArray I need to get the descriptor from Oracle.
    I use the following line to do that.
    ArrayDescriptor orderLinesDesc = ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor("OBL_EMPLOYEE", connection);
    Where OBL_EMPLOYEE is a Table of EMPLOYEE Object OB_EMPLOYEE.
    Where OB_EMPLOYEE has several primitive fields and a TABLE (OBL_ROLES) of Roles object OB_ROLES.
    Where OB_ROLES has primitive types and table (OBL_RESPONSIBILITY) of Responisibilities OB_RESPONSIBILITY
    Where OB_Responsibility has primitive types
    I get the same ClassCastException.
    Both parameters (String, Connection) to createDescriptor are non Oracle-Specific.
    But the EJB Server vendor says the method tries to typecast to OracleConnection which they don't support.
    Any idea?

    user521490,
    Pardon me if I am asking an obvious question, but did you create the ACCOUNT_TYPE using a "create type" DDL statement? For example:
    create or replace type ACCOUNT_TYPE as ...An "ArrayDescriptor" only works for global types (as far as I know).
    I'm guessing that JACKCACHE is a [PL/SQL] package, and that's probably why it doesn't work.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

    Full subject : Enforcing integrity using oracle specific data base commands .v. using front end.
    It ought to be generally accepted that it is better to enforce integrity directly in the data base using constraints, dependencies, triggers etc rather than leaving it to specific front end programmes.
    In my view, the chief advantages - of enforcing integrity directly in the data base - are:
    (1) No process can violate the integrity.
    (2) Being server centric, these commands run on the server and so can be easily sized in one place.
    (3) One time data migration (imports) into the system using Oracle tools or SQL commands would also need to conform to the integrity constraints. Thus an implementor would be assured that the basic data is alright.
    I am faced with a situation where we are about to implement a new Oracle based package. During data migration, when we discovered that there are no integrity constraints built into the target data base, the package vendor asserted that it is not necessary to build in integrity into the database. This seems to be an extreme and risky view.
    Further, it is argued by the package vendor that putting constraints directly in the data base would significantly increase the needed resources (RAM) on the server. In my view, this increase is trivial and anyway, hardware costs are crashing day by day.
    In the absence of integrity checks in the data base, it seems to me that every program would have to extra zero value work to ensure integrity of the end user data. It will still never be complete.
    I would like to know the pros and cons of implementing without integrity constraints.
    OK.

    OK.It's a shame you seem to be so far into the process and committed to this vendor. I once had a vendor tell us his product would run on Oracle but they recommended MS SQL Server because "oracle can't handle more than 5 concurrent sessions." I made sure that vendor didn't make the short list.

  • To more specific class: all return error after upgrade from LV2011 to 2012

    I have working projects/executables built in labview 2011. When loading the exact same project in 2012 EVERY 'to more specific class' returns an error.
    For example, making a generic control reference into a 'numeric'.
    Redoing the exact same action makes no difference. What has changed in LV2012?

    Can you post an example VI containing such code? Please post the original 2011 code.

  • How to restrict the accessibility of a class to specific class(es)

    How can I restrict accessibility of a class (instantiating or using) to a specific class or a set of classes. For example, I have a class 'CreditCard'. I want to limit its accessibility to a specific class 'CreditCardManager'. i.e., anyone could only create or use objects of 'CreditCard' class from 'CreditCardManager' class only.
    This may look like 'friend' functionality in c++. But it is not. The private members should not be accessed from the manager class.

    Define a CreditCard interface:
    public interface CreditCard {
    }Put the implementation inside CreditCardManager:
    public class CreditCardManager {
        private /* static (?) */ class CreditCardImpl implements CreditCard {
        public CreditCard newCreditCard(...) {
            CreditCard  cc = new CreditCardImpl();
            return cc;
    }Since you are going on about it, I assume CreditCard is a key concept in your app, so there are probably other reasons to make it an interface too. For example, so that youi can mock it in unit tests.
