JavaFX for productive applications
Hi,
I am currently planning a new desktop application. Since the development of swing in Java is a bit complex part, I wanted to try another approach. JavaFX and the Groovy SwingBuilder look interesting.
Thus my question is: Is JavaFX ready for productive use? What are Sun's plans for JavaFX in the future? Nobody wants to use technology, that is dead within the next few months.
The other way is the swingbuilder in groovy. Looks nice, but I am not sure, if it is the right way to build a gui. The backend is supposed to be written in Java.
Greetings
Mike
You can find an example of the Table component creation and usage on page:

New poll: Migrating JavaFX 1.x Production Applications
If you have developed a JavaFX 1.x application and deployed it in production mode, it is time for you to start thinking about your migration options. Oracle is interested to know whether you have made sizable investments in JavaFX 1.x, so we can discuss your options with regards to migrating your application(s) to JavaFX 2.0.
Please vote for the option that better fits your particular scenario in the poll, and contact javafx4you [at] sun [dot] com if you want to set up a discussion with us.
Thanks,
The JavaFX Product Team
Edited by: javafx4you on Dec 21, 2011 10:35 AMHi,
Assuming the version of essbase is the same,
1. Export data (level zero or all) from each app
2. Create apps and databases in new environment
3. Replace otl file, calc scripts etc with ones from old environment
4. Import data
5. Calc (if level zero data loaded)
Ensure cache settings are the same on each db compared with the old environment.
Thanks,

Do we have any tools for automating the JavaFX 2.X application testing???
Do we have any tools available for automating the JavaFX 2.X application testing? If so, can somebody provide more information like which shall be the best to get started, whether it is open source or licensed e.t.c?
Thanks in advance.Using this we found that we can test only stand alone JavaFX application i.e. *.jar file only.
But we want to test .html file as our application shall pass certain parameters. As per my understanding, I think this is not possible using jemmyfx.
Is there a way to do this? -
Whether JavaFX is the right choice for my application??
Hi,
I am interested in creating a graphics application. I have bunch of sensors on a table and I want to create different images on the table through a projector hung on ceiling facing down. I am have some values for a gray scale. Say for example I have 250 values then I want the screen to be divided into equal 250 rectangles and each of them will be given a color based on the gray scale value I have. If I have 800 X 600 values then I will have that much resolution of the gray scale image. after certain time the values change and I have to change the image as well.
I thought of using JavaFX but I am not sure should I go with this or there is some other language or tool which will be very helpful in creating application at pixel level?
SamipPixel level manipulations is not the strong point of JavaFX.
For the application you describe, I recommend instead using Processing, lot of people use it for shows and exhibitions. And it interfaces well to hardware. -
I've been going through a number of sample apps developed with JavaFx. They look pretty good but some of them suffer from delays from the time the buttons etc. are pressed to when the response comes through. It's not my computer as I'm running a Quad core with 4GB memory and only one IE browser in the applications + cable connection to internet.
Has anyone else noticed the same problems ?...or different ones which at the 30,000 feet level would discourage one to deploy JavaFx in production today ?
Does anyone know which year/month the next release is coming in off the top of their heads ?Where you find such application?

Are the templates ready for production ?
Hello,
As per the reading of the documentation PeopleSoft_Statement_Of_Direction_May_2011.pdf (MOS note #1320581.1), we can understand Oracle is providing termplates ready to go for production use :
"+...PeopleTools will continue to provide production-ready templates that allow IT staff to get a PeopleSoft system online quickly or to dynamically add or remove PeopleSoft components from a PeopleSoft application...+"
But from the readme documentation delivered in the templates, it sounds an other story (here's the output of the last OVM template) :
"+...This template was built for demo purposes. Out of the box it is not recommended for production use...+"
Not sure how to understand both sentences and if they match somehow.

Error during goods receipt of Finished goods for production order
hi friends
pls help me iam struggle this issue and mentioned the issue .
when i do goods receipt for production order system getting error like
No price could be determined for material/batch FG/ plant ZTP
Message no. CK 465
Diagnosis
The system could not calculate a price for material/batch FG/ in plant
ZTP for valuation view 0, because none of the valuation strategies in
valuation variant 007 was successful.
System Response
User-defined error management enables you to specify whether the message
is an error message, a warning message or an information message.
o If you have defined the message as a warning message or an
information message, the costing item will be entered in the cost
estimate with a value of zero.
If you have defined the message as an error message, the cost
estimate contains an error or errors.
- In the case of a material cost estimate, the system sets the
status KF.
- If it is a cost estimate without quantity structure, or base
object cost estimate (that is, a unit cost estimate), the
system cannot proceed with costing until you have corrected the
errors.
If the system issues a termination message, the cost estimate cannot
be processed, and processing is terminated.
procedure
o Check the master data for material/batch FG/ in plant ZTP.
o If you have authorization for Customizing, check the valuation
strategy for materials in valuation variant 007.
Note
If the message is a warning message or an information message, there is
a danger that materials with errors will be ignored by the system.
If, because of this, you issue a warning message and at the same time
include materials with a zero value in cost estimates, you can make the
following settings for these materials in the costing view of the
material master:
1. Enter a very low price in the planned price 1, 2 or 3 fields
manually, for instance 0.01 USD. These prices are used for costing
purposes only; they are not read by other applications.
2. Enter the highest price unit possible, for example 10000.
Note: If you enter a new price unit that is higher than the costing
lot size, the system increases the costing lot size accordingly.
3. Change the valuation strategy, such as strategy 4, where you could
enter the planned price field in which you entered the low price.
The system now costs as follows:
Using the valuation strategy, the system finds planned price 1, 2 or
3. Due to the low price and high price unit, the system rounds the
value to zero. However, the cost estimate still obtains status KA
(free of errors), and no error message is issued.
This procedure can be used for all materials that have caused error
message CK465 to be issued.
with regards
dinesh

IPC pricing gross value for products in catalog
Hello all,
In ISA b2b application I need to add a new column with gross value for products in catalog. Here is how I've tryed :
</i>
<!-- CBI Added gross price -->
<td align="right" >
<%IPCItem priceRef2;
try {
priceRef2 = (IPCItem) item.getItemPrice().getPriceInfo()
.getPricingItemReference();
if (priceRef2 != null) {
DimensionalValue grossValue = priceRef2
.getGrossValue();
%>
<%=grossValue.getValueAsString() + " "
+ grossValue.getUnit()%>
<% } else {
%><isa:translate key="z_catalog.isa.nogrossvalue"/> <% }
} catch (Exception e) {
%><isa:translate key="z_catalog.isa.ipcexception"/>
<%} %>
</td>
<!-- CBI Added gross price -->
</i>
The problem is that the gross value is the same with the net value.
I've try also using <i>item.getItemPrice().getPriceInfo().getAllPriceInfos()</i>
where item is WebCatItem, and retrive an array of PriceInfo (s) with only one PriceInfo object which has the type <b>netValue</b>.
Then in the backendobject-config.xml I've modify the priceTypes attribute value for BO "CatPriceCalc", but without any succes. Here is the snippet:
<i><businessObject type="PriceCalc" name="CatPriceCalc" className="com.sapmarkets.isa.backend.crm.webcatalog.pricing.PriceCalculatorCRMIPC" connectionFactoryName="JCO" defaultConnectionName="ISAStateless">
<params>
<!-- CBI gross value -->
<b><param name="priceTypes" value="totalNetValue totalGrossValue"/></b>
<!-- for allowed values see defined constants in com.sapmarkets.isa.backend.boi.webcatalog.pricing.PriceType -->
<param name="doItemCalls" value="true"/>
<!-- set this to true if you want to have additional call of CRM_ISA_PRICING_ITMDATA_GET when doing item pricing -->
</params></i>
Do you know how to solve this problem? Or why is not working.
Any help (soultion, docs, links) is very wellcome and rewarded.
Thank you
BogdanHi Bodgan,
It seems that some values like tax, discount are not being calculated by IPC as required parameters are not sufficient enough to differentiate between the two. You can run catalog pricing analysis and see what are the gross and net pricing value. You can update the extra parameters to IPC by extending the class you mentioned and modify backend config xml file to use that class for ISA.
Regards.

How to configure ENV and DB for multithreaded application?
Hi,
From document, I know DB_THREAD must be checked for both ENV and DB, but , I don't know which one is best choice for multithreaded application while facing DB_INIT_LOCK and DB_INIT_CDB. In my application, there maybe multi readers and writers at the same time, should I use DB_INIT_LOCK instead of DB_INIT_CDB? what other flags should I use?
DB_INIT_CDB provides multiple reader/single writer access while DB_INIT_LOCK should be used when multiple processes or threads are going to be reading and writing a Berkeley DB database.
Thanks for your seggestions and answers.Thanks for the explanation,
The Berkeley DB Concurrent Data Store product
allows for multiple reader/single writer access
to a database. This means that at any point in time,
there may be either multiple readers accessing a
database or a single writer updating the database.
Berkeley DB Concurrent Data Store is intended for
applications that need support for concurrent updates
to a database that is largely used for reading.
If you are looking to support multiple readers and
multiple writers then take a look at the Transactional
Data Store product
(http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17076_02/html/programmer_reference/transapp.html)
In this case the Environment is typically opened with:
DB_INIT_MPOOL, DB_INIT_LOCK, DB_INIT_LOG, and DB_INIT_TXN.
Let me know if I missed any of your question.
Thanks,

How can we create Versions for Products in SAP CRM
Hi All,
We want use Product Versions in our CRM IC Webclient. We want to be able to select a product and then have a list of versions to pick from. Can anyone tell me if they have configured Versions for Products in their SAP CRM system. If yes, then how did you go about it.
Thanks,
Ramesh NallabelliHi Arup and Shanthala,
Thanks for the prompt responses. Appreciate your help. We want to create Product versions like this: Product: Windows OS Version: 95, 98, XP, Vista, 7, etc.
When I try to create a configurable product, using the Configuration tab, to create or use a product model I see an error message: PME installation with errors The long text is: The environment variable PME_HOME that includes the PME application has to exist locally in order to start the PME from CRM.
This indicates the configuration of IPC in our CRM system. This is something that we have not undertaken so far.
When I use the Poduct Variants tab to create a product variant for a configurable product, I can't edit here. This view opens in a display only mode. After reading some more about this, It looks like variant configuration needs to be used in tandem with ERP variant configuration. There might also be a need to recreate this in the Java configuration engine. We are going to create these products in CRM only, so this might not work for us.
Regards,
Ramesh -

Dhanabal THi Michal,
I know that it is the old thread but still want to get clarified from you out of curiosity.
Unlike other IDOC, i actiavated change pointers for LOIPRO
1.message and idoc type is linked
2.function module , message type , idoc type is linked
function module used is CLOI_MASTERIDOC_CREATE_LOIPRO
3.BD64, distribution model is created and distributed
4. port and partner profile is in place.
5. IDOC is not getting generated after creating the process order.
do we need to activate the change documents for the message type in BD52,
if yes can you please provide the object types for the same.
or i am missing something else. please guide me in this regards.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi All,
In CRM Web UI, there is no multi selection option for product group id f4 help for Custmer event creation or edit screen under “Product” tab=> Product Group ID field.
Web UI Component Details -
UI component : TPMOE
View : TPMOE/ProductEOL
Context: PRODUCT Attribute : -PRODUCT_GRUOP
Click on Product Group ID field then below F4 Help screen appears.
In the product group results list, user can select only one row and Then all the product will be queried for selected product group, transferred to product list tab.
Current technical design for Product Group F4:
a) SE11 Data Dictionary search help “CRM_MKTPL_PGRP1” is used and data is fetched displayed based it( Refer method GET_V_PRODUCT_GROUP of context node class CL_TPMOE_PRODUCTEOL_CN00)
b) In UI, F4 pop up is handled by UI Framework in SAP generic manner so no multi selection is allowed.
c) A round trip event is triggered after selection of row from results which reload view with queried product result based group selected.
Requirement :-
In the product group F4 results list View, user should be able to select multiple row .As SAP GUI has the option of multiple entry selection from search help window with the help of field called MULTISEL.
System should query for products with all selected product group, transferred to product list tab.
Note: - The multi select options works fine for GUI, but for UI standard SAP code ignores this or never is this structure taken into consideration. Standard class to display F4 help on UI is CL_THTMLB_F4HELP.
Can we enforce same behavior like DDIC search help in Web UI too Or suggest how we can achieve this requirement?
Thanks in advance
Regards,
ArjunHello All,
We have achieved this requirement by Custom development and approach followed as -
Define UI object model zprgrp & zprgrpquery and object relationship in table ZCRM_OBJTAB
Query Strcuture : ZCRMST_PRGRP_SEARCH & Result List structure : ZCRMST_PRGRP_RESULT
Created Custom component : ZPRGRP with Search /Result view and with GENIL Class, search logic
Defined custom ComponentUsage “ProductGroup1SearchHelp” for ZPRGRP in Standard Component TPMOE
e. Called F4 application for field product _group with help component usage created in step d.

I have an old (first generation) iMac that I still use sometimes for the applications that are on it. I was using it yesterday and unfortunately had a power cut. I went to turn it on today, and nothing at all happens. It's as though no power is getting to it. I've checked the obvious things, changed the fuse, tried different cables, poked paperclips in reset holes, but nothing doing. I wonder if there is anyone who knows what might be wrong. I was hoping to get some of its content transferred soon, but I'm guessing that can't be done if it can't be started up. Many thanks, if you can help
Hello,
>It's as though no power is getting to it.
Would it be correct to assume that no sounds at all can be heard? Also, no lights, not even green or amber at the power button?
>unfortunately had a power cut.
Was it possibly a power cut in connection with a thunderstorm? Any other evidence of higher than normal voltages (light bulbs, et cetera)? Has the line voltage been checked (measured with an appropriate voltmeter/multimeter)?
If necessary, it would be possible to remove the hard drive, and then connect it to an external IDE/ATA to USB adapter (example below). That way you could gain access to files on the hard disk from another computer.

Mail: Notes visible in Inbox view, I want to turn it off!
Since switching to Lion, I've noticed that Notes are now visible in the Inbox view in Mail. Every time I create a new one (and I use Notes a lot!), it is visible in the Inbox I want to switch this off - I only want to see Notes if I click on the Note
