Javascript profiling in Safari 7

Javascript profiling already is not available in Safari 7 in Develop Menu. Maybe there are some Safari extension for the same purpose?

Hello Ellie,
I see the same behavior and I'm looking into it. Thanks for
your patience.

  • Activating the javascript debugger in Safari on Windows 7

    I apologize if this has already been answered but I have spent 2 hours trying to find out detailed instructions on how to turn on the javascript debugger in Safari for Windows 7 (specifically). From what I have read there is a debugger menu which I must activate by placing this code:
    <key>IncludeDebugMenu</key>
    <true/>
    into the Preferences.plist file. This file did not exist so I created it with notepad, renamed it and saved it with the code included. I do not see any new menu option.
    In addition to that I have read that there is a third party Javascript debugger that I can install after accomplishing the first task of showing the debugging menu. Please reply with useful, complete, detailed links explaining how to do this. Thanks

    ... Are we talking about a different sort of Javascript debugger than the ones you get to through your "Develop" menu?
    If not, to bring up your Develop menu, in Safari go "Edit > Preferences", click "Advanced" and check "Show develop menu in menu bar".

  • How do i save the source code of a javascript alert in safari?

    I am trying to save the source code of the javascript alert in safari but the menu items blank out.
    Is this even possible?
    dave

    Eventhought it is a usefull function which i did not know about it is not helping me. This is what hapens.
    I request an url and get a javascript alert back from the server. The javascript alert triggers that is i get a popup where I can only press ok. If i do not press ok i can not do anything else. the safari menu's are greyed out. if i do press ok i get redirected and i can not read the javascript page with your suggestion.
    what i want is read the source for that javascript alert so i know what it says (my filemaker database that is) but because that option is greyed out i am stuck.
    here is the link i use to get the javascript popup:
    https://www.login.alex.nl/klanten/portfolio/portefeuille-xls.asp?print=true
    the javascript says i am not loged in.
    if i get this javascript alert in firefox i can ask for the sourcecode, read it and do stuff that is log in. I just do not understand how i can change safari so it does the same thing as firefox.
    thanks again

  • Can't Access Myspace Profiles via Safari/Firefox/Explorer/Opera... help?

    Hi,
    I can't access 95% of all the profile pages I try to view on Myspace. It starts loading and then I get the spinning beach ball. I did some experimenting, and I turned off Javascript on Safari and they started loading again, but I can't access a lot of features-- I couldn't even log into this discussion without Javascript!! I think my javascript is corrupted. Is there a way to replace my javascript thingy? I'm really upset about this. My software is all up to date, as are my permissions. Any advice would be helpful.
    ~Patrick

    Same here. Permissions repaired, PlugIns removed and reinstalled one after another (InputManagers: Chax, Menu Extra Enabler, PicLens, SafariBlock, SafariPlus, SIMBL), reinstalled flash, DivX, Flip4Mac, Perian. All up to date. But whatever I do, I can't access (most of the sites of) MySpace, YouTube, etc.! No difference whether I use Safari, FireFox or Opera: The processor speeds up to 100% and the beach-ball goes spinning round and round and… The only (but radical) solution than is pressing the power-button! I had this problem with Safari 2, I have it with Safari 3, and I definitely don't know what to do! Hoped with every update, but…
    I don't know if that's a problem with flash or JavaScript or something completely different, but I can't see why Apple does not get that fixed! I mean, I'm really not the only one being frustrated by surfing the web while more and more blogs integrate YouTube-Videos… That's no fun using a mac!

  • Weird Javascript problem on Safari and other web browsers

    Hello,
    this is actually pretty weird. For the past several weeks I have been dealing with a very strange problem which I believe relates to JavaScript. To be more specific I have an issue with two websites: Macuser.gr and Facebook.com.
    As far as Macuser.gr is concerned this is how it's supposed to look:
    http://f.cl.ly/items/0j1J123Y2D0t1C2U3b1f/Screen%20Shot%202013-02-06%20at%202.25 .04%20PM.jpg
    and this is how Safari renders it:
    http://f.cl.ly/items/3N0V3I1c0Q0a1r0K0e1C/Screen%20Shot%202013-02-06%20at%202.25 .40%20PM.jpg
    The problem is with the preview images as you can see.
    Now, in Facebook there's this annoying white line where it isn't supposed to be:
    http://f.cl.ly/items/0k0i2c0T0q1h3t2j2s3e/Screen%20Shot%202013-02-06%20at%202.25 .52%20PM.jpg
    I have tried and tested everything (Guest user, different browsers etc) and all it comes down to is JavaScript. Disabling Javascript seems to fix everything immediately. Enabling it again and this mess occurs. Also, this happens with the latest versions of Safari, Chrome and Firefox BUT not with Camino 2.1.2 although it has JavaScript enabled in it.
    This is really frustrating and it appeared out of the blue one day. I did not have this problem from day 1. Any ideas?

    Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
    Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with proxy servers, or with networks that require a certificate for authentication.
    From the OS X Utilities screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch. No plugins, such as Flash, will be available. While in Recovery, you'll have no access to your saved bookmarks or passwords, so make a note of those before you begin, if they're needed for the test.
    Test. After testing, reboot as usual and post the results.

  • Javascript error in safari 1.2.2

    Hi
    Still on OSX Panther 10.3.4 with Safari at 1.2.2(V125.7)
    Everytime I try and use a java application it says "error enable javascript".
    I have enabled it in Safari and also done a clear cache and reset and restarted Safari. No go.
    Any light on this please????
    Many thanks
    Pahji

    Tom, its not that I started having problems when I
    did the 10.3.4 upgrade but this problem just started
    one day out of the blue. It was working fine till
    that point.
    I understand. But with most people on 10.4.8 and most of the rest on 10.3.9, it may be hard for you to find anyone to help with a problem for your system. The easiest thing to do might be to just upgrade.

  • Javascript works on Safari for Windows but not on Safari for Mac (2.0.4)

    One part of our mail's web-based interface is not working properly when I use Safari on Mac (2.0.4). However, it works on Safari for Windows and Firefox. I browsed through a lot of the forum entrees with java/javascript on the subject and it seems that java processing is a common problem. I have checked all the necessary settings suggested on the forums but it still does not work.
    We tried using the new Safari on another machine and it works. However, I also see lots of forum entrees asking how to uninstall Safari 3!
    I also have a window on the open-source SugarCRM not working properly on Safari 2.0.4. Any fix coming?

    I noticed that as well. I have to wonder if it's due to not making note of the the different end of line characters between Mac OS X and Windows in code.

  • Javascript error in Safari (sequel to roll-over button problem)

    Yesterday I started a thread on non-functioning roll-over buttons in Safari.
    In the mean time (with the help of iBod) I founs out that the problem has got something to do with JavaScript.
    The problem occurs in sites I built with FreewayPro 4.0.1
    The url's:
    www.wildeplantentuinen.nl
    www.kunst-zin.nl
    The problems occur only in Safari (2.0.2 and 3.0)and not in some other browsers (even ana IE version of 2001 works great)and probably since the last Tiger Update (10.4.11)
    The JavaSriptConsole gives an "Undefined Value" error for all of the non-functioning elements on a specific line.
    Any Javascript-gurus around that could help me. (I am not a code-wizard at all).

    Thanks ra5ul,
    That (more or less) solved the problem, . . . . . . but what is going on ?
    I edited all sourcecode of numerous html-pages by hand and now they work the way they should in Safari.
    But now every time I make a small change to any page, my web-building program changes the code back to the old syntax (which, again, all browsers can read except Safari).
    Why does the problem only occur in Safari ?
    I hate to put a line on the index-pages that Mac users should not try this website in Safari.
    Problem is, I made these sites in Freeway and I don't want to upgrade that program because I switched to Dreamweaver and iWeb (for the simple ones).
    Is there a smart work-around ?

  • Javascript misbehavior in Safari

    Hi,
    I have the following code on a .jsp page:
    var molstruct = parent.responseframe.document.ansApplet.getMol("mrv");
    alert('molstruct = \n' + molstruct
    + '\n + molstruct.indexOf(\'mrvAlias\') = '
    + molstruct.indexOf('mrvAlias'));
    When I access this page in Safari 2.0.4 in MacOS 10.4.8, I get the following alert:
    molstruct =
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    <MDocument>
    <MChemicalStruct>
    <molecule molID="m1">
    <atomArray
    atomID="a1"
    elementType="Cl"
    mrvAlias="C"
    x2="-2.117500066757202"
    y2="1.1549999713897705"
    />
    <bondArray>
    </bondArray>
    </molecule>
    </MChemicalStruct>
    </MDocument>
    + molstruct.indexOf('mrvAlias') = -1
    If I do the same in Netscape 7.2, the last line of the alert says:
    + molstruct.indexOf('mrvAlias') = 157
    Any ideas why the standard Javascript String method indexOf() works in Netscape but not in Safari?

    Ok, after much experimentation and install/reinstall/time machine tests, the solution was rather convoluted and involved reinstalling Java for Mac OSX 10.6 update 2 using the iMac i7 quad booted up from my MacBook Pro as a target firewire drive. Normal reinstalls on my MacBook Pro of the java 10.6 update 2 did not fix the problem. All the other java specific things are working normally again.
    Note, the problem with javascript did NOT show up on the java test page that is suposed to show java working properly such as http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml
    That page showed java working just fine when it was not.
    The problem exhibited in simple scripting pages like the following:
    http://www.rcn.com/boston/help/cable-tv/tivo-premiere
    Where each of the blue links pop open to show content when clicked.
    or if you've had any problem getting the Slingbox internet plugin to download. (uses javascript to install)
    Not really sure whats going on or where the problem stems from (Note: Tried a clean 10.6 install from the not for resale snow leopard disk that came with my Macbook Pro and the javascript links didn't work there either, nor after the java 10.6 v2 update.)
    Why I needed a 2nd machine to make this fix makes me think there's something not fully re-installing on other machines with the Java update.

  • JavaScript problem on Safari

    Good Morning,
    I have a JavaScript that should open a new popup window (which it does correctly on my PC using IE), but on my IPAD2 using Safari it opens a new Tab/Page window. Any suggestions ?
    Thanks,

    It might be worth checking in at the Safari-iPhone-Web-Dev mailing list for that one, Bob. (They do Safari on iPad stuff there too.)

  • Javascript Issue in Safari

    Hello,
    Im currently stumped and need some advice.
    I seem to be having a problem in general with Java Script. Certain websites that use simple scripting to hide and show content when you click on a link don't work at all. Even the Slingbox website javascript that installs the plug-in doesn't work. This problem persists the same in Safari and in Firefox. I find this very odd because recently I did a clean install of 10.6 and reloaded my files using time machine (no Applications or System, just documents) running disk permission repairs along the way. Im running the latest java build for mac 10.6 update 2 and have even reinstalled to no success.
    Im running Safari 5.0.1 (6533.17.8)
    This same problem also happens on my Mac Pro quad 3.0 running 10.5.8.
    I know these websites work and not bad code because I installed 2 iMac i7 Quad systems this week and they both execute all of these scripts/websites perfectly using Safari 5.0.1.
    Any Suggestions?

  • Color Profile in Safari

    Hello,
    I'm looking for some help!
    Any idea why same image is displayed different in Safari on two different computers? I have to laptops, both calibrated the same.. When I try to open image on my main computer blue colors look more purple than on my other computer.
    The image should be blue and it is blue on all other computers and in all other browsers (including Safari, Firefox, and Explorer). But it is purple in my Safari It is not the monitor calibration for sure because image looks right in different editors on this computer.
    It worked fine before but than one day (don't remember for sure when) it started not working. I think I probably updated my Photoshop at the same time so something may have changed there.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you very much!

  • Switching iframe content and javascript problem in safari!

    Hi, I'm having problems with this page we're doing...
    http://www.intergraphicdesigns.com/clientes/bansbach_web/zonainteractiva/www/zon ainteractiva.php#tab3
    It renders everything perfectly in Firefox, Chrome, IE9, or even IE6... but in Safari (both Mac and Windows versions) gives a js error that blocks the function that allows the site to switch the youtube video when I clic the diferent color symbols underneath... it gives this error:
    -*ReferenceError: Can't find variable: cargarCanal* (even though that function works perfectly in other browsers).
    The js code thats being problematic is the following:
    function cargarCanal(class, codigo){
    alert ("hola!!!");
    $('#divIframe').html('<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/'codigo'?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/'codigo'?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>');
    $('.canales_links a').removeClass('canal_selected');
    $('.'+class).addClass('canal_selected');
    All I wanna do, is switch the content of the iframe with a different youtube video, It can't be that hard....
    If anyone can help us it would be great!
    THANKS!

  • JavaScript errors in Safari

    When I go to www.metoffice.gov.uk I get several JavaScript errors starting with Exception 22. The weather map doesn't display. On another iPad it works fine. All software is fully up to date and JavaScript is set to ON.
    Can anyone help please?

    Hi Jonathan
    Thanks for the reply, but it doesn't really help. The key part of my question was why it would work on one ipad and not on another. This means (to my systems engineering brain anyway) that there is some setting in my ipad which is causing the Exception 22. This exception is accompanied by a message about the Quota (whatever that is) being exceeded. It would appear to me that somehow some special area in the memory of my ipad has been exceeded. But since my ipad has the maximum memory, as does the other one, I can't think what it might be. I don't know what part of the ipad the Exception 22 relates to.
