Javax.naming package in j2se but not j2ee

Hello,
From on the documentation I see so far the javax.naming package exists in the J2SE. Unfortunately I d/l and installed J2EE. Shoudln't J2EE be a superset of j2se? Or the the packages just renamed to something else in it?

Yes j2ee is a superset to jj2se. j2se contains all the standard packages that you need for writing java apps.

I'm using JBoss Seam as my web framework, and the Seam container is starting up successfully after deploying my WAR file. I get this stacktrace when I hit my first page.
I googled "java:comp/EJBContext" and it looks like it's a standard EJB3 resource which should be available. Any ideas?

I figured out how to get JBoss Seam working with OC4J 11 and wrote it up here:
    http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=SeamOC4J11g
By the way, the solution to this particular problem was I didn't need to have any content in my jndi.properties at all, and I was trying to use java.naming.factory.initial=com.evermind.server.ApplicationClientInitialContextFactory (or com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory).

  • In-game package paid for but not downloaded. Help.

I play DragonCity. and today I bought an in-game app. a package i got cheap.
I got the confirmation that the payment was ok. But I dont get the items in game.
When I try to buy the same package again it says: You already paid for this package, but you have not downloaded it.
So where can i download it???
    Thanks for help.

Just check by selecting the option "Check for Available Downloads" .
If nothing comes up, try contacting the Apple or the Tap Tap customer support. They are quite fast in responding back.
    Good luck!

  • Package says delivered but not received

I was expecting a 50$ Gift Card in the mail. As the title says, tracking says its delivered. My lack of giftcard says otherwise. Is there anyway someone can help me, and is there anyway to cancel the gift card and have me get another one. Thanks!

    Hi there SharimKhan,
Welcome to the forum! I'm disheartened to hear that you may be missing a $50 Best Buy gift card from a recent BestBuy.com order, although the tracking information says it's been delivered. Provided the gift card retains its balance, we should be able to resolve this issue after some research.
Using the information you registered with the forum, I was able to locate your order. It looks like the post office would have delivered this to your mailbox. Have you checked with your local post office regarding this package? Please let me know so that I may take any further steps to assist you with this issue!
    Sincerely,

  • Class javax.naming.InitialContext not find import

how should I set the classpath environment?
    Where to find javax.naming.InitialContext package?
    thanks for you help

You should set the classpath environment to include wherever your javax.naming package is. If you're using Java 1.3 or later, javax.naming should be in the classpath already.

  • Javadoc download v1.3.1 containing the javax.naming.

javadoc download v1.3.1 containing the javax.naming. package etc
    (not the jdk-1_2_2_006-doc.zip 17MB file,
it does not have the javax.naming classes in it.)
I can browse the classes on site http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/index.html
where to download? plz help me the link...

    Any help would be appreciated
    Bye!

    gday WhiteSox --
You don't say how you are creating the new container -- is this standalone where you've extracted it to another directory and munged the ports, or in an OracleAS instalallation where you created a new instance?
What are you using to perform the deployment operation?
If you post some more details, we can try and help.
    cheers

  • Javax.nameing.NameNotFoundException when connection to Standalone OC4J

    I have installed a standalone OC4J 10.1.3 for a testing purposes.
It is an out-of-the-zip-file installation, so I have not configured anything except for the administrator password.
I can start/stop the serveren and access the Oracle Enterprise Manager from both the local server and remote PC's. I can browse the instance as expected and everything seems to work.
When creating a testing a connection from JDeveloper on a remote PC I receive the following exception:
Error while getting remote MBeanServer for url: ormi://<the correct server name>:23791/default
Error reading application-client descriptor: Error communication with server oc4j:internal/ResourceFinder not found; nested exception is:

  • Classpath set BUT still javax.servlet package not found when compiling

    Hello,
I'm trying to compile a servlet and use tomcat 5 to run it. After I set the classpath to include the servlet-api.jar file, the compiler still tells me it cannot find package. I'm not sure what else to do. Please Help.
    Thanks Smoker

Then you haven't set the actual classpath that the compiler is using. Just because you say you have set the 'classpath' doesn't mean you've properly told the compiler that.
Such as, what did you do, set the CLASSPATH environment variable? Don't do that - ever. If that's what you did, and you're using an IDE, the IDE project is ignoring that environment variable anyway. You have to configure the project appropriately (which for one thing sets up the 'classpath' it uses), which varies depending on the IDE. That's an IDE question though, not a Java one.
