JCo issue - return table is null

Hi,
I am trying to read the return table from a function module using
JCoParameterList jplExport = function.getTableParameterList();
This works fine in the development environment, however in QA I am getting jplExport as null.
I have debugged it in QA using an external debugger and the return table has rows.
We have also ruled out the possibility of it being a authorization issue after checking with the security team.
I have debugged the FM using the JCo user and it has the return table, also if I run it from within SAP GUI it returns values in the return table.
To re-iterate the same code works fine in Dev.
In QA the import is good as I can see the values in the return table.
I am unable to understand what the issue is here. Why will it return null inspite of having values ?

Hi Veena,
-> Check if you can call any other function modules in the QA environment. If not, something is wrong with JCo configuration.
->Do you see any differences in function modules signatures from Dev and QA?

1) One Import parameter.
2) NO EXPORT Parameter.
3) One Table. (Returning 'n' rows of data field 'WA').
I am calling the RFC using JCO.
No output is displayed. The ABAP functions is working fine
when tested using SE37.
How call function with this combination?

This is how I have done.
I pass the parameter to import parameter list. The abap code looks if any import parameter is added. Then it fills one of the tables with data values. Then I call the table and display the results and set the import parameter to something else.
JCO.Field import = function.getImportParameterList().getField("<Field Name>");
import.setValue("<Field Value1>");
Table1=function.getTableParameterList().getTable("<Table Name>");
Table2=function.getTableParameterList().getTable("<Table Name>");
mConnection.execute(function);
Then I get the table values from the required table1 and table2. Then Finnaly before exiting from the connection
I reset the value of Import parameter
JCO.Field import = function.getImportParameterList().getField("<Field Name>");
Con2.setValue("<FieldValue2>");
mConnection.execute(function);
mConnection.disconnect();
Hope this helps to understand from J2ee perspective what is happening. So accordingly you can write the ABAP code to change the table values based on the values that you get in the import Parameters.

GUI_DOWNLOAD issue - returns empty table

I am using the following to read a text file (I have tried a tab delimited text file as well as a .csv file) into an internal table. The returned sy-subrc value is 0 but the returned table is empty.
Any ideas?

How to migrate sql server 2000 user defined function returns table

Hi,
How do I capture the SQL Server 200 user defined function that returns table? Is this supported in the current version of Oracle Migration Workbench? I am using the latest version - Release 9.2.0.1.0 with SQL SERVER 2000 plug-in.
I was able to capture the SQL Server 2000 user defined function that returns string and smalldatetime but not the functions return table during the migrate data source stage.

This is not currently supported. The next release of the Oracle Migration Workbench (due very soon), will do a better job of catching this mad reporting an error. We are looking into a suitable mapping and have created bug # 2355073 - TABLE DEFINITIONS NOT ACCEPTED FOR TABLE FUNCTIONS to track this issue.
Once possible solution we are looking into is using the object type to emulate. Here is an example from the bug:

Accessing RETURN table

I would like to know how to access the RETURN message from the BAPI
In one of our MAM implementation our client has a customized goods issue transaction so when the goods are ordered from the mobile for a maintenance activity the corresponding response from the backend(R/3) is sent in MAM25_001 return table.

I am not sure whether i understand the quiry properly or not. I hope the following will help you:
1)Take one scenario, customer syncbo, where we need to create customer, when the create BAPI is invoked, it will get executed and gives a messege saying that
"customer is sucessfully created"(These messeges can be modified/create as our wish) so
If this is ur requirement.
We need to create a messege class and call this class in BApi as below
      lds_return-message_v1 = 'Customer table'.
      lds_return-message_v2 = customerid.
      MESSAGE s002(MESSEGE CLASS) WITH space space
         INTO gdf_message_dummy .
      CALL FUNCTION 'BALW_BAPIRETURN_GET1'
        EXPORTING
          type       = 'E'
          cl         = 'MESSEGE CLASS'
          number     = '002'
          par1       = lds_return-message_v1
          par2       = lds_return-message_v2
        IMPORTING
          bapireturn = lds_return.
    MOVE-CORRESPONDING lds_return TO return.
      EXIT.
In this messege class we can create as many messeges as we want, and simple call the messege number..in this case s002 is the messege number.

Regarding BAPI Return Table

Hi all,
I am having an issues, when the user enters the correct value into an input field then i am getting the output properly. But if he enters any wrong value a message is populated into the BAPI return table. So how do I check if the BAPI return table is empty or not. If it is empty then it has to open the output table and if it is not empty it has to show the error message as an pop-up or table format.

Hi Ramana,
If you want to capture the message returning from the BAPI which you are using then do the following:
1.> Drag the line from the BAPI return port and link it to a form or to a table.
2.> Then go to the form/table click the UIelement and in properties of that assign the default value which you want to display. It may be a message coming out of the BAPI.Through this way you can capture the values coming out of the BAPI

PipeLine Function Taking time to return Table record

Hi,
I want to use a function in join clause. so i go for pipelined function(using for loop to get record & 1 more loop to fetch in table type variable). i achieved what i required. but problem is it takes much time to fetch data. is there any other approach which returns table records without pipelined function.

Oracle XML functions return tags for null columns.

I am currently writing a SOAP Message base on a SQL statement formatted as XML. However, I am having problems with Oracle XML functions not returning tags for null columns as seen in my example below. Is the a way to get Oracle XML functions to return empty tags for null column?

DatabaseMetaData.getTables() not returning tables

getTables(...) returns nothing in result set. I am using the JDBC-Thin Driver in Oracle 8.x. Is there anything extra that needs to be setup? Thanks!

did you specify the right parameters? this the following codes:
rset = sqldb[dbno].dbmd.getTables(null,null,"%",null)
under oracle 8.17 JDBC, it only return table,view and synonym

Adding extra rows is kind of strange. It must be either, the records in the data request being duplicated or the logic in the RETUN table must be messed up. If possible just have a snapshot of pseud code may be it could help analyzing the error.

Is it strange? or am I doing sth. wrong?
