JCO Start Connection.
Hello i'm getting my first steps with jco and i have a problem connecting.
This is the part of the code I use to connect:
Properties jcoPropeties = new Properties();
jcoPropeties.setProperty("jco.client.client", "400");
jcoPropeties.setProperty("jco.client.user", "USER");
jcoPropeties.setProperty("jco.client.passwd", "PASSWORD");
jcoPropeties.setProperty("jco.client.lang", "ES");
jcoPropeties.setProperty("jco.client.ashost", "Server internal IP 192.168.0.12");
jcoPropeties.setProperty("jco.client.sysnr","00");
jcoPropeties.setProperty("jco.client.gwhost", "Internet ip 80.34.34.34");
jcoPropeties.setProperty("jco.client.gwserv","");
mConnection = JCO.createClient(jcoPropeties);
mConnection.connect();
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to SAP gateway failed Connect_PM TYPE=A ASHOST=192.168.0.12 SYSNR=00 GWHOST=80.34.34.34 GWSERV=sapgw00 PCS=1 LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR partner not reached (host 80.34.34.34, service sapgw00) TIME Thu Mar 08 20:30:22 2007 RELEASE 640 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 37 RC -10 MODULE nixxi_r.cpp LINE 8588 DETAIL NiPConnect2 SYSTEM CALL SiPeekPendConn ERRNO 10060 ERRNO TEXT WSAETIMEDOUT: Connection timed out COUNTER 1
can anyone tell me if i'm setting correctly the parameters or where it's the problem? as I undestood I have a timeout and nothing else to debug this code and i'm getting crazy donno if the code is is wrong or i have some kind of restriction of the system administrator to access the system, the thing is that I have also sapgui 6.40 running on the system and i'm able to conect without a problem.
Thanks

Hi Jose,
Try the following code.
JCO.Client client = null;
// Create a client connection to a dedicated R/3 system
client = JCO.createClient( "000", // SAP client
"johndoe", // userid
"*****", // password
"EN", // language
"appserver", // host name
"00" ); // system number
// Open the connection
client.connect();

Jco: Error Connecting using sapgw04
Hi,
I have a problem using Jco to connect to a SAP-System.
I'm trying to connect to SAP using the following configuartions:
sysnr: 04
GWServ: sapgw00
GWHost: XXX.YYY.com
ASHost: XXX.YYY.com
The code to create a repository for this configuration is:
JCO.addClientPool(poolname, maxpoolsize, "538", "username", "password", "DE",
"XXX.YYY.com", "04", "XXX.YYY.com", "sapgw00");
When I use this pool to get a function I get an Exception:
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (123) JCO_ERROR_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND: Server repository could not create function template '[FUNCTIONNAME]'
caused by: com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect from SAP gateway to RFC server failed

LOCATION
SAP-Gateway on host h33e / sapgw00
ERROR partner not reached
(host XXX.YYY.com , service <b>sapgw04</b>)
The strange thing is the sapgw04 in the error-message.
Somehow JCO wants to use sapgw04 to connect to the RFC-Server. Is this an error in the SAP-Configuration or do I have to change the configuration of Jco?
How can I tell Jco not to use sapgw04 but sapgw00?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
TorstenHi Torsten,
please check how you log on to your system. You are giving a system number 04, which corresponds to sapgw04. I'm not sure why the method needs all the information, seems to be duplicate to me (please comment if I'm wrong); it should be sufficient to use:
addClientPool(String key,
int max_connections,
String client,
String user,
String passwd,
String lang,
String ashost,
String sysnr)
If you don't want to use sapgw04, just specify "00" for the sysnr.
Hope this helps, harald -

Couldn't create jco client connection for logical system
Dear Experts,
we are facing a strange issue in our custom webdynpro java application, few of our portal users are getting the "couldn't create jco client connection for logical system" for Model Data JCO Destination. below are details
1. portal version 7.02 SP14 (we have recently updated to SP14 from SP02-- is this is causing the issue ?)
1.1. updated the NWDI track with SP14 SCA files as well as added latest WD Runtime SCA file deployed the applications to Production also.
2. above said exception is inconsistent and happening for only few users
3. ping and test of jco destinations are successfull in content administration as well as in SLD, destinations were added in the SLD system.
4. cleared the JCO ARFC meta data cache in webdynpro console
5. jco destinations are configured using uid/pwd, configured user is not locked active and tested in the backend by logging in with the same user.
6. restarted the portal server
even though, we are getting the above said exception for few of portal users randomly.
Please help me on this ASAP, as i am not getting any further help on this.
Thanks,
Ram.Hello Ram,
Check the JCo Pool Configuration settings of your JCO Destination. This message normally comes when the maximum connections has been reached. Increase the "Maximum Connections" to some number depending on the usage. A good habit is to disconnect the jco connection after executing the same in your webdynpro code if you don't want it to be synchronous.
<ModelName>.modelInstance().disconnectIfAlive()
Hope this helps.

Whenever I start iphoto on my macbook pro, its start connecting to facebook and uploading my photos, which i donot want to upload. Please advise, how to stop iphoto to connecting from facebook.
Then change that setting in iPhoto. First disconnect your system from the net, IE turn off the WiFi and disconnect the Ethernet cable if one is connected. Then open iPhoto and open the preferences and in the Accounts section remove Facebook. You might also want to look in the sharing section.

Solution tried :
1) As no role wtih name LcrInstanceWriterLD was existing in the server ,hence created a new role with same name and assigned the LCR related action . Assigned the role to the user through which we are creating JCOs.
But we still getting the same error.

PoonamHi Poonam!
Got to dig in the past a bit, I remember Users being able to create SLD object have to have certain permissions set in the J2EE UME. Simple Admin rights do not suffer, if I recall right.
Unfortunately I cannot go further in detail because this issue has been solved by a long gone collegue of mine.
Good luck anyway!

Any other option rather than JCO to Connect JAVA through SAP ? which wayhow
points will be awardedHI,
For connectivity with SAP from Java, if you are looking at solutions based on the options SAP provides, then
1. SAP JCo --> You know it...but this one is recommended if you want to connect from a standalone Java application.
2. SAP JRA --> From applications inside JEE runtime environment.

Multiple JCO client connections
Hi guys!
I need to configure more then one JCO client connection that points to different SAP/R3 instances. Is it possible? If yes, can I map and run RFCs from couple instances in the same WD application? PS: The RFCs have the same name....
I realy don't think so.
Suggestions??

When I start firefox the normal page doesn't open and instead the tabs start connecting and connecting without any website and the grey circle that each tab has turns green and then grey and the process repeats itself. And If I try to type an address I can't because upon pressing 'w', it tries to connect to what I don't know.
hello, it sounds like a theme or extension might be interfering here. please try launching firefox in safe mode once and see if the issue is occurring there too. in case it's working correctly, please go to firefox > addons > extensions and disable/remove any extension that look suspicious/you didn't install intentionally or that might interfere with the tab loading behaviour.

Live Auction's jCO RFC connection to SRM is NOT successful.
hi to all,
can any one help me about the configuration of RFC of live auction cockpit?
i have followed the inst guide, but i always keep getting this message.
RFC Error using locale en
RFC Error using locale ja
RFC Error using locale de
Your RFC connection between Live Auction and SRM has failed. Please verify the following:
Did you configure your SRM jCO setting (eg: jco.client.ashost, jco.client.sysnr etc) in Live Auction's properties?
Is the user specified in jco.client.user property exist in SRM with the correct role and password ? Please change the user to type dialog and try to logon via SAPGUI before changing it to communication user to ensure the user is NOT locked.
Did your SRM R3 has the code page installed that are specified in jco.client.lang ?
Please check the J2EE engine's log file to see more details of the error. Please refer to J2EE's documentation on how to view the log files.
thanks in advanceHi Ranin,
Have you checked the note 1593439 where it mentions:
If you are using Live Auction JAVA, you would additionally be required
to assign the Authority object S_RFC to the RFC user being used for
establishing a JCO connection between LACWPS JAVA Server and the SRM
ABAP backend system with the following values. This authority is not
needed in case you are using Live Auction on ABAP in SRM 7.0 Enhancement
Pack 1 (SAP SRM 7.01) or higher release.
Object Field Value
S_RFC ACTVT 16
RFC_NAME BBP_LA_BIZAPI
RFC_TYPE FUGR
Perhaps this is the problem?

Oracle database won't start/connect
I apologize in advance if I've missed something in another forum/thread, or leave out necessary information towards solving this. I tried to be as comprehensive in my research as possible prior to posting.
Here's the story - I have a 10g 10.2.0.1.0 database on Windows XP. It was running fine, until I tried to add DBWS_UTL/10.2.0.3.0 Client... I think?, components to it in order to enable it for Web Services. I followed the tutorial at the following link:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/10gr2_db_single/develop/java/java_otn.htm
... and got down to Instruction #8, just before "Calling the Web Service". It says "Note that there are no errors." Unfortunately, I did have errors... and more unfortunately, I don't still have them handy.
After some testing I realized that not only do database web services not work, but my database was no longer functioning at all. Consultation with coworkers revealed the problem to likely be tied to now having improper version matching (10.2.0.1 versus 10.2.0.3...)
So, I tried upgrading my 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3... and believe I have successfully done that. Every service started up in Windows Services except for "OracleDBConsoleSID", which reported "Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" right after the little green timer blocks slowly and steadily filled up to the end.
Some more experimentation with a coworker, the OracleDBConsoleSID service no longer exists in my services list, and the database still doesn't start up.
Things I've tried:
1. Checking my tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files - the proper hostnames and Oracle home are listed.
2. Rebuilding the OracleDBConsole via "emca" commands from command prompt. EMCA responds but the actual commands to reconfigure or rebuild the repository fail out because the database is not responsive.
3. Connecting via my installed applications, Enterprise Manager, SQL Plus, and Command Line - all fail the same way, Error 1034.
4. Reconfiguring/rebuilding my Listener with Net Configuration Assistant - values seem to check out, no positive results.
5. Many many other small/random things mentioned in forums here and elsewhere on the net.
I guess that's it for now, there's plenty more details I could include but I don't want to muddle the post with irrelevant information. Any ideas/help are greatly appreciated, I would just reinstall/start over but I have important data in the database that I don't want to lose.
Thanks,
Greg

Does JCo have connection limitation of 100?
Hi, experts.
I got complain from BASIS about JCo connection problem.
The problem is basically every JCo can have only 100 connections to the maximum.
Is this right?
I thought configuration of JCo at WD management tool determines the maximum of the connections.
Thanks for your help in advance.yes.

JCO clientPool connection refused
Hello fellow JCO Programmers,
I am stuck with a problem concerning the clientPool facility of JCO.
Using the code below:
JCO.Pool clientPool = JCO.getClientPoolManager().getPool(CLIENT_POOL_NAME);
if (null == clientPool) {
JCO.addClientPool(CLIENT_POOL_NAME, 50, _name, _user, _password, _language, _host, _systemNumber);
client = JCO.getClient(CLIENT_POOL_NAME);
always gives me a "connection refused" error when executing "JCO.getClient".
Using a single connection like this
JCO.createClient(_name, _user, _password, _language, _host, _systemNumber);
works however.
Could that be a problem on the remote side, and the admin has to enable the SAP system for client pooling first?
Thanks for any help!Hi Philipp,
