JD Edwards Integration

Hi,
Could someone detail how the integration between JD Edwards and CRM On Demand is actually done (or point me in the direction of a document that tells me)? What connects where and what is the process for seting up the integration?
And what versions of JD Edwards and CRM On Demand are supported by this built-in integration?
Thanks

Hi Peter,
Alex has introduced me into this discussion (Cheers Alex!). The answer to your question regarding time-frames is not straight forward, so here is a brief explanation:
We have a product that can be installed within a week, the usual challenges being hardware logistics, security access, firewall configurations, etc.
Additional analysis is usually required to determine how JD Edwards has been configured to ensure correct codes end up in the right place in CRM, and vice-versa. A good example is JDE Category Codes which can have many meanings for many reasons. Some codes may have meaning to CRM and some not, and again vice-versa. How they "map" at one organization may not be how they map at another. The time it takes for this exercise varies from site to site, with on-site knowledge and well documented systems having a bearing on results.
Further to this, our integration suite (known as the Ndevr Integration Suite, or NIS) has been built for all the obvious integration points such as name / address / phone numbers / product catalogue / create JDE sales orders / view JDE sales orders / many more. However, with CRM OnDemand being so flexible and JDE being so infinitely configurable, the list of integration possibilities is endless and we often find that site-specific integration may be required. NIS contains a comprehensive suite of JDE web services beyond just the basic CRM requirements, making integration possible with many JDE modules, and for all versions of JDE OneWorld from XE going forward. In order to determine time-frames a scoping exercise is generally required, but it’s good to know that much of the work can be fast-tracked because NIS already has the bulk of functionality built into its web services.
In short, NIS is relatively easy to install, in fact can be installed remotely, but additional time is usually required for business analysts to ensure site-specific data is mapped correctly, and unique business needs are catered for.
Hope this helps!

  • Data integrator and informatic

    Hi There
does any one know the difference between informatic and data integartor? if someone has informatic skill, could it be easy to transfer to data integrator?
    thanks

First of all, Data Integrator is not a reporting tool, it is an ETL tool from SAP BO.
    1) When we go for Data Integrator and Rapid marts
    2) What is the importance of Data Integrator
    3) Can you give a scenario for Data Integrator and Rapid marts..
Rapid Mart is a pre-built information component, that use DI as an ETL tool which extracts data
from different source systems like SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle, Siebel & JD Edwards, integrating and
    loading into datamarts.
The analytic datamarts(pre defined data warehouse application) focused on different subject areas..
such as Sales, HR, Inventory, Accounts etc..

    Data Warehouse and ETL concepts.
    5) What is the land scape of Data Integrator
    6) What are Advatages and Dis advantages of Data Integrator.
Data Integrator allows to develop data warehouse applications in both Batch and Real-Time job mode
Data Integrator manages the data from heterogeneous and homogeneous sources and transforms the data
according to business logic, integrates into single data source for analysis.
It extracts the data from operational source systems and external source systems typically like RDBMS,

  • Accessing a JD Edwards database via PHP

    Hi,
Would anyone be able to tell me if it is possible to access a JD Edwards installation via PHP? Our web interface requires JD Edwards integration. If this is possible, where would I find documentation about this?
    Thanks,
    Geoff

We used IBM DB2Connect software which allows you to use AS400/iSeries native commands. The web developer handled the setup on the application server so I don't have any details on the setup, but your IBM representative should be able to help you or get you in touch with someone who can help you.

  • JD Edwards E1 9.0 and  Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.2 Integration

    Hi All,
As we all know with the release 11.1.2.2 ERPi adaptor support JDEdwards integration as wel.
In our current project we have the requirement to integrate these two system. We have the experience of integrating Ebusiness suite and Hyperion but completely new to JDEdwars.
Incase some one has worked on this, please help us with your inputs and suggestions.
    Regards
    Anand Gobbur

The setup in ERPi will be the same as the other source system types, (EBS, Peoplesoft). I would recommend following the ERPi administrator guide and the KM's that are available for configuration of ERPi.

  • Some questions about the integration between BIEE and EBS

    Hi, dear,
I'm a new bie of BIEE. In these days, have a look about BIEE architecture and the BIEE components. In the next project, there are some work about BIEE development based on EBS application. I have some questions about the integration :
    1) generally, is the BIEE database and application server decentralized with EBS database and application? Both BIEE 10g and 11g version can be integrated with EBS R12?
    2) In BIEE administrator tool, the first step is to create physical tables. if the source appliation is EBS, is it still needed to create the physical tables?
    3) if the physical tables creation is needed, how to complete the data transfer from the EBS source tables to BIEE physical tables? which ETL tool is prefer for most developers? warehouse builder or Oracle Data Integration?
    4) During data transfer phase, if there are many many large volume data needs to transfer, how to keep the completeness? for example, it needs to transfer 1 million rows from source database to BIEE physical tables, when 50%is completed, the users try to open the BIEE report, can they see the new 50% data on the reports? is there some transaction control in ETL phase?
could anyone give some guide for me? I'm very appreciated if you can also give any other information.
    Thanks in advance.

    1) generally, is the BIEE database and application server decentralized with EBS database and application? Both BIEE 10g and 11g version can be integrated with EBS R12?You, shud consider OBI Application here which uses OBIEE as a reporting tool with different pre-built modules. Both 10g & 11g comes with different versions of BI apps which supports sources like Siebel CRM, EBS, Peoplesoft, JD Edwards etc..
    2) In BIEE administrator tool, the first step is to create physical tables. if the source appliation is EBS, is it still needed to create the physical tables? Its independent of any soure. This is OBIEE modeling to create RPD with all the layers. If you build it from scratch then you will require to create all the layers else if BI Apps is used then you will get pre-built RPD along with other pre-built components.
    3) if the physical tables creation is needed, how to complete the data transfer from the EBS source tables to BIEE physical tables? which ETL tool is prefer for most developers? warehouse builder or Oracle Data Integration?BI apps comes with pre-built ETL mapping to use with the tools majorly with Informatica. Only BI Apps 7.9.5.2 comes with ODI but oracle has plans to have only ODI for any further releases.
    4) During data transfer phase, if there are many many large volume data needs to transfer, how to keep the completeness? for example, it needs to transfer 1 million rows from source database to BIEE physical tables, when 50%is completed, the users try to open the BIEE report, can they see the new 50% data on the reports? is there some transaction control in ETL phase?User will still see old data because its good to turn on Cache and purge it after every load.

    Hi Edward,
I created a new shell profiles named "root" as the default one "Permit Access" can't be access or modified, underneath the steps I've made.
    1. Create a new shell profile name "root" with max privilege of 15. And then used it in "Default Device Admin/Authorization/Rule-1" shell profile - see attached file for more details.
    2. Telnet the Switch and then Issue "debug aaa authentication" using both "Root Shell" and "Permit Access" applied in Rule-1 profile.
    Note:
I also attached here the captured screen and debug result for the "shell profiles"

    Hi Edward,
Can you clarify on your statement "You can run 3.x queries normally". I am currently declaring the bex web application string in the BW iview created in this format "infocube=0D_FI_C01&query=0D_FI_C01_Q001" and i am not defining the report template anywhere in the iview properties but still the standard template is displayed.
Pls let me know how to run 3.x queries normally.
Also i am trying to integrate only reports which are developed for BW 3.x format in BI system but still the data is not displayed.
Pls let me know incase the SP level of both EP and BI portal are to be considered for this.
EP 7 portal is on SP9 where as BI 7 is on sp12.
Also i noticed the EP portal doesn't have BI Java Addon. will this matter for displaying reports in BW 3.x format.
As you suggested workaround i tried to create a url iviews directly taking the links from the reports displayed in BI portal , i was able to preview the report but when i added those iview reports to role, the reports are constantly loading as it is trying to contact BI system. There are being loaded constantly with nothing displayed on screen.

  • Data exchange between Oracle DB and JD Edwards

    Hi all,
We have an Oracle 10g EE database which we maintain. The financial system is using JD Edwards. We need to provide them some daily information(payments) Also they need to send us some data( payment reconciliation). My questions are:
    1. What kind of interaction is posible between Oracle db and JD Edwards?
    2. What database does JD Edwards internally use? Is in an Oracle db?
    3. Is there an ODBC driver available for interaction?
    4. Does JD Edwards handle credit card payments?
Please, can you give me an answer quick, we need it by the end of today for a proposal..
Excuse my lack of knoledge, but we never worked with JD Edwards before...
    Thank you

#2 All the JD Edwards installations I have ever come across were on AS400 (iSeries I believe is the new name) …their niche on the application software market was the fact that they were running so well integrated with that particular platform. AS400 comes bundled with [one of the many flavors of] DB2 … that is, no extra license required. Oracle has never had an AS400 port … so I doubt you’ll find Oracle underneath your JD Edwards installation.
#1 “some daily payment information” suggests batch type integration and relatively small in scope … all systems/applications have some sort of data loader and there are always ways to get data out into files … so a custom, file-based little integration mechanism could be all that you need. I did work once in such a little project … the JD Edwards specialists in the company did their part of loading and loading on their side … we did the same on the Oracle side … we agreed on file formats, content, schedules, a common/secure drop zone in the network etc. and that was pretty much it. The point is, there must be some JD Edwards people in your company you should get involved in the discussion/proposal.
#3 An ODBC driver for DB2 on AS400 very likely exists … keep in mind though that this means the integration will be at a low level (table level) … many applications expose integration points at the API level (application level). Again, you have to get the JD Edwards people on board.
My last points … if you have Oracle in house then call your Oracle representative … Oracle owns JD Edwards … you may get better answers or re-directs there. Also look if your company has any middleware software already … contact the vendor and see what they have to say

  • Business Object XI 3.1 Integration with Siebel CRM 8.1.1.1

    Hi Experts,
We are planning to Integrate Business Objects XI 3.1 with Siebel CRM 8.1.1.1.
Our requirement would be creating BO Universes on top of Siebel CRM Business Layer (Business Components) and expose these Universe for Ad-hoc reporting using Web Intelligence at InfoView portal. In addition we would like to leverage Siebel CRM Authentication and authorizations (positions) as well with Integration Kit.
Found some of docs on BO with Siebel integration using crystal designer. But not on creation of Universe and then WebI Reports.
And also found that Siebel Web Desktop for Ad-hoc reporting within Siebel portal. Not sure how it is similar to BO Web Intelligence reporting.
Can any one please guide us the different possible options to achieve this requirement.

    Hi Paul,
I've left SAP on March 31th, 2011, so my information may not be 100% accurate.
As far as I know, in Business Objects Suite XI4.0, there will no longer be Siebel Integration kit.
Instead, Siebel related integration features are moved back into core products such as Crystal Reports and BOE.
This means, you no longer need to have an installer for Siebel integration kit, when you installed Crystal Reports, it will bring you to Siebel connectivity after you install Crystal Reports. So does BOE.
The similar approach applies to other integration kits as well such as SAP, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS.
In Crystal Reports and BOE XI4.0, the Siebel integration feature remains with some improvements (check the product document for detail when you get XI4.0 BOBJ suite.)
For Webi/Universe accessing Siebel request, I have no further update since then.
You may want to go through your sales representitive/support channel to raise enhancement request/new feature request officially and get feedback.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Customizing JD Edwards E9.1 ADF Mobile Application

    Hi
I would like to find out, if anyone has been able or know how to customize jd edwards adf mobile application
To be more specific, I have modified the ProcurementManager business service (JP430000) to render more fields from F4311 - Purchase Order Detail Table
When testing the business service through SOAPUI and in JDeveloper 11.1.1..5.0 all is well
But I cant seem to get the fields to show on the PurchaseOrderApproval ADF application details.jspx page
    Your help with highly appreciated
    Much Thanks

    Hi,
You Can create custom tables on DB2 through JDE EnterpriseOne 8.12 and you can have the tables to be accessed from Webservices also but you have to be very careful about the integrity of the application before giving such access.
You can customize JDEdwards Application UI and it is available in
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 8.98 Development Tools: Form Design Aid Guide
as you have to customize the Form on which you need the corresponding link.
Please let me know if you need any further information.

  • ERP Integrator Source Informations

    Hi All,
I would like to know whether ERP Integrator will support the External feed file(from any other source system) to Hyperion Applications. ERP Integrator will support all ORACLE ERP & HR Modules, but in terms of external system likes Customized ERPs it will support or not. I understood from the below content, it will support the external system through Open Interface Adapter. I couldn't find any document on Open Interface Adapter.
Anyone having the experience on the above scenario, Please share your experience and let me know is there related document or URL..
I got the below content from the Oracle documents:
ERP Integrator supports general ledger data for:
    Oracle E-Business Suite 11i
    Oracle E-Business Suite 12
    Oracle Fusion Financials
    PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management 9.0
    PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management 9.1
    PeopleSoft Commitment Control
    SAP ERP Financial
    JD Edwards General Ledger system
ERP Integrator supports human resource data for:
    PeopleSoft Human Capital Management 9.0
Integration includes data load and drill through. The integration is supported for the following SAP ERP Financial modules:

  • Need a Data Integration for multiple ERP systems

We are doing some research into a data integration layer to our BW 7.3/BOBJ 4.0 from multiple ERPs.  Of course we are looking at Data Services and Information Steward in the BOBJ suite but just looking for anybody's recommendations on the topic.
What technology platform do you use to do the extract, transform, load processes from multiple backend sources into BW?  Any you would advise us to avoid?

    Hello Edward,
The answer depends on multiple factors.
    Some pointers:
Volume and growth of db in scope planning (Federation vs replication )
If data federation is where you want to move data services / BO tools will be ideal
If your data is coming from multiple ERP systems you can utilize there delta queue to load data via data services (in case of SAP)
Use native DB connect/UD connect functionalities in BW as with BW 7.3 its delta capable.
Moving to BW 7.4 you will have SDA to solve that problem of integration to Non - SAP data into your EDW landscape
These are pointers but I would say talk to enterprise architects and look into the foresight of wheyare you want to move your EDW platform.
    Cheers!
