JDBC interoperability

I have two windows machines - one running the as and the other the db. I am trying to develop JSP. The version of Windows OS is 2000 Ad Svr, and the version of OAS is 9i 1.0.2.2.2.a. The version of db on the db serevr that I want to connect is 9.2.0.6.0 (patched from 9.2.0.5).
When i run the followwing two sql's,
sql = "select sysdate from dual"; - it works fine, however, when i run the following,
sql = "select cheque_number from issued_cheques"; - I get this
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [ttcgcshnd-1], [0], [], [], [], [], [], []
When I connect from Jdeveloper 10g from my client pc and run the jsp, both scripts work fine. I looked over the Internet and one of the reasons could be the jdbc drivers. I downloaded Oracle9i 9.2.0.5 JDBC Drivers For use with JDK 1.1. But the problem is that I cannot seem to install the driver correctly.
I have put the classes classes111.zip in the "D:\ORACLE\iSuites\jdbc\lib" directory, and added the classpth as below
C:\Documents and Settings\admin>set classpath="D:\ORACLE\iSuites\jdbc\li
b\classes12.zip
C:\Documents and Settings\admin>echo %classpath%
"D:\ORACLE\iSuites\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip
however, the second JSP page still outputs error. Can anyone advice. Do I need to restart my OAS? or do I need to configure the path OR something else?

Hi Dave,
I agree with all your points.
There are many advantages of Interface tables (Z-tables) and we are using them as well for exporting and importing data. For example, Exporting data in CSV files to Warehouse management system for Picking, Shipping operations.
We thought of using Business services for transactional-based operations. For Example, External system receives the EDI formatted sales order and has to do many business rule validations and few processes before updating sales order to JDE. While executing business rules, there are fee transactional based updated we need to perform with JDE, like moving inventory between Zone A and Zone B. This is where we wanted Business Services but it was refused and left with the option like calling UBEs from Java through shell script.
As you said there any many pre-built Business Services and mostly these services should solve our integration problem
We wanted Transaction server as well because for real time event integration like once the sales order has been completed, External system has to know immediately to inform other business partners.
The thing is, we are not trying to integrate applications with already existing JDE servers. JDE is going to be fresh installation and this is going to happen after 4 months time from now.
We had a meeting with Vendor yesterday, The reason for not installing is No sufficient hard ware and no vendor has done this here which is risk.
With you for a nice weekend.

  • InfoBus interaction with SQLJ

    Hello, a few questions about infobus implementation?
    It's possible to obtain an infobus RowSetInfo Object from an SQLJ
    iterator like SQLJ/JDBC interoperability?
    how can i deploy an infobus data form wizard i get confused by
    the docs here is the excerpt:
    "To deploy your InfoBus data form, you must include the data
    form's java files and its XML file in the deployed application.
    All of these files must be accessible to the server through its
    classpath environment variable. "
    Why has to be deployed on a server? what kind of server?
    ... can you explain this?

    Ignacio,
    Here is some detail on the XML file from a similar question
    posted internally last week:
    JDeveloper 2.0 Beta (Build 184) and beyond include a subset of
    the Java Business Objects functionality whose full capabilities
    are targetted for the JDeveloper 3.0 release.
    In particular, JDev 2.0 uses the JBO framework for its data
    access. JBO uses XML to represent object metadata, so a byproduct
    of using JBO in JDeveloper 2.0 is that for each named connection
    that you define, you'll end up with an XML-file which represents
    the definitions of the updateable tables in your application.
    These XML definitions are designed to easily be able to "roll
    forward" into the JDev 3.0 release when you'll be able to
    associate business logic with the "Entity Object"
    definitions they represent and have those rules enforced by the
    framework.
    The XML file includes a reference to "jbo.dtd" and the JDev
    runtime will find that DTD in the CLASSPATH at runtime, and it
    typically resides in the jbomt.zip file (which in build 184 was
    probably still called just jbo.zip).
    The JBO data manager layer in 2.0 (and 3.0) gives the following
    key benefits:
    (*) Updatable Join Views
    Join any number of tables in your SQL, and pick one primary
    table to be updateable in the UI.
    (*) Automatic Master/Detail Coordination
    Link queries together and have detail data synchronized with
    the current master record, to any level.
    (*) Hierarchical Record Caching
    Make pending changes to detail rows for any number of
    masters, then commit them all together.
    (*) Pessimistic Locking
    Lock rows in the database as soon as the user "changes" them.
    (*) Use of ROWID
    Select whether to use a Primary Key or Oracle ROWID for data
    access.

  • Working on ETL tools interoperability using Common Warehouse Model (CWM)

    Hi All,
    Its just a piece of information and not a question.
    I have been working on proving the ETL tools interoperability using Common Warehouse Metamodel(CWM), an OMG standard. The whole concept is to take out the metadata from an ETL tool say OWB and put it into CWM Metadata Repository and this metadata can be used for building the same project in any other tool say Informatica or may be in the same ETL tool.
    The main thing in this process is to map each ETL tool with the CWM concepts and then using Model to Model Tranformations(Technologies like Xtend) one can set up a communication between different ETL tools.
    Till now I have worked with OWB only. I, with my team, have extracted all information from an OWB project (which has medium level of complexity like two oracle modules(schemas) and few tables, views and mappings with various operators) and put it in CWM repository and extracted it back from CWM MDR to OWB itself. We haven't worked with any other ETL tool because of the unavailablity of any other ETL tool with us. We will be working with Pentaho kettle in near future and try to prove the whole process as two way communication.
    The whole process can be described in steps as below :
    1. Creation of a manual OWB Ecore model(model representaion in Eclipse Modelling Framework) which gives all dependencies and reletionships in OWB objects like Project,OracleModule etc.
    2. Creation of CWM ecore model from Rational Rose mdl which has been provided by OMG on their site.
    3. Generation of Java code(Gen Model) from the above mentioned ecore model(It is needed to create an object from OWB).
    4. Extraction of project from OWB using public views which has been exposed by OWB itself. You can refer to [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31080_01/doc/owb.102/b28225/toc.htm|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31080_01/doc/owb.102/b28225/toc.htm] link for OWB public views and other APIs.
    5. (Actually Step 4 is a part of this step only )Writing a Java code which has JDBC connection for accessing OWB public views and Ecore model as imported java files(Step 3 has been done for this part only). This java code will return an OWB project object(instance of the Ecore model) which will be used in further steps.
    6. Writing an Xtend code to do a model to model tranformation from OWB to CWM.
    7. Writing an Open Architecture Workflow to combine all the steps in one step which will take the output of java code(step 5) and put it into Xtend Code(step 6) and then will take the output of Xtend code and give it to the XMIWriter(an OAW component) to write an XMI which is actually a CWM Ecore Model instance.
    8. Saving above XMI(CWM model instance) to the CWM MDR using Hibernate and Teneo.
    In the same way we can extract metadata from CWM MDR and put it into OWB. But the only problem with OWB is that we cannot persist OWB object in OWB repositories as OWB tables are very cryptic and tough to understand. So for that we have used TCL scripts(OMB Plus scripts) to create a project in OWB using OWB ecore instance. You can refer to the above oracle documentation link for TCL scripts.
    Let me know if I can assist you if you are working on the same.
    You can mail me for any queries. My email id is [email protected].
    Thanks,
    Deepak

    Hi
    1. Why do we need to install another standalone HTTP server in a separate home? Where do we use that server?
    DA: The separate HTTP server is for the Workflow Monitor, which is not necessary (it has some use cases mind you).
    2. To make the OWB work correctly while using ETL features, do we always need to run Workflow Configuration Assistant, because I wasn't able to generate code from OWB editor after building a mapping while Workflow Configuration Assistant wasn't running.
    DA: Not necessary, what error did you get? Mappings can be designed, deployed and executed without Workflow. Workflow can be used for orchestrating the the mappings (ie .running a bunch of them in a specific order with others tasks).
    3. Whenever I try to save my work in OWB, I get an error , message : Preference.properties (Access is denied). Though it saves my work but I don't understand why I am getting this error. It looks like OWB is trying to access some Property from the Preferences (Tools menu) but can't access.
    DA: It sounds like the directory where you have installed OWB does not have permissions for the OS user you are executing it. Is the install user different from the execution user? Either run using the installed user, or change the permissions of the directories (grant the executing user write permissions under all directories under owb).
    4. I also get error while closing the Mapping Editor :-
    DA. same issue as 3.
    Cheers
    David

  • Oracle JDBC for v7.3.4

    I am using v7.3.4 solaris library to run with JDBC 1.1 and JDK 1.1.5. The library is correctly placed in my LD_LIBRARY_PATH and the classes111.zip is available in the CLASSPATH. If I run the program with the JDBC OCI connection statements in a monolithic java program, it runs fine. The problem occurs when I attemt to split the connection code as another java file so that I can instantiate a connection class. I consistently get a No Suitable Driver error. My LD_LIBRARY_PATH and CLASSPATH are not changed from the previous single program run. Can someone tell me what is the error I am comitting here ?

    Hello,
    I want to create a synonym on an 11g database for a table residing on a version 7.3.4 database. As dblinks are no longer supported between these two version, can you share some options?Neither Oracle 7.3.4 nor the connection between Oracle 11.1 or 11.2 and Oracle 7.3.4 are supported.
    So, you should convince the Customer to upgrade from Oracle 7.3.4 to 11.2.
    Else, a Database Link between Oracle *11.1* or *11.2* and Oracle *9.2.0.8* is supported.
    Also interoperability between Oracle *9.2.0.8* and *7.3.4* seemed to be (formerly) supported from 7.3.4 to 9.2 only (according to the Note *207303.1* from My Oracle Support).
    So, if you have another Database in Oracle 9.2.0.8 it can help you to make the "bridge" between the Oracle 11.2 and Oracle 7.3.4 Databases. For instance, you may replicate (for instance by using Materialized View) the 8.0.6/8.1.7 Materialized views (which replicate 7.3.4 Tables), on the Oracle 9.2.0.8 Database. Then, from the Oracle 11.2 Database, you may create a Database link and Synonym to the 9.2.0.8 replicated Tables.
    But, sincerely, it's not the good solution.
    The right way in your case is to upgrade.
    I correct what I've said above, in fact 7.3.4 --> 9.2 was supported but 9.2 --> 7.3.4 was not. So you have to add another intermediate Database as Sybrand said.
    The second intermediate Database should be in *8.0.6* or *8.1.7*.
    So you have this:
    *11.2 <-> 9.2.0.8 <-> 8.1.7.4 / 8.0.6.3 <-> 7.3.4.5*
    Hope this help.
    Best regards,

  • Broken SQLJ/JDBC sample code!

    found a serious documentation bug:
    The sample SQLJ-file JDBCInterop.sqlj in
    <JDeveloperHome>/doc/jdeveloper.htm#jdk117/index.html
    which is claimed to show the very interesting
    "Dynamic SQL and JDBC-SQLJ Interoperability"
    is far from compilable!
    Even after adding some import statements, there remains the
    problem that in the generated .java file the iterator (class
    Employees) constructor WILL NOT ACCEPT a standard ResultSet as
    parameter but only the Oracle extende result set.
    class Employees
    extends sqlj.runtime.ref.ResultSetIterImpl
    implements sqlj.runtime.NamedIterator
    public Employees(sqlj.runtime.profile.RTResultSet resultSet)
    throws java.sql.SQLException
    Can anyone rewrite that example to work as described??
    TIA

    Hi
    I guess the problem is due to some network problem.
    Did you try running any simple program that connects to the database you have mentioned using JDBC.
    Try to print the stacktrace and look where the error is.

    Hi,
    I am seeing the aforementioned error in the logs. I am guessing its happening whenever I am starting an agent instance in PCo. Can somebody explain whats going on?

  • JDBC Lookup - Import table data from a different schema in same DB

    Hi XI Experts,
    We are facing an issue while importing a Database table into the external definition in PI 7.1.
    The details are as below:
    I have configured user 'A' in PI communication channel to access the database. But the table that I want to access is present in schema "B". Due to this, I am unable to view the table that I have to import in the list available.
    In other words, I am trying to access a table present in a different schema in the same database. Please note that my user has been given all the required permissions to access different schema. Even then, I am unable to access the table in different schema.
    Kindly provide your valuable suggestions as to how I can import table which is present in another schema but in the same Database.
    Regards,
    Subbu

    If you are using PI 7.1, then you can do JDBC Lookup to import JDBC meta data (table structures from DB). Configure a jdbc receiver communication channel where you specify username and password which has permission to access schema A and Schema B of database. Specify database name in the connection string. Then you might have access to import both schema.

  • Error while creating a JDBC connection to Oracle 11g using WLS 6.1

    Hi
    I am trying to connect to Oracle 11g database on Weblogic 6.1 server.
    First of all i would like to know if this is compatible?
    The environement that i have is this
    1. JDK 1.3
    2. Database 11g is on remote system
    3. Oracle client on my local system ( Connecting to the 11g DB through the client works fine)
    4. Weblogic server 6.1
    5. Currently the application is connected to Oracle 10g DB and working fine(We are attempting to move it to 11g)
    Below are the steps that i followed to create the connection:
    1. Made an entry for the datasource in config.xml under <WLS_DOMAIN>/config folder as below
    <JDBCConnectionPool DriverName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
    MaxCapacity="4" Name="CADConnectionPool"
    Properties="user=abc_proxy;password=proxy_abc;dll=ocijdbc8;protocol=thin"
    RefreshMinutes="5" ShrinkPeriodMinutes="10" Targets="CAsvr"
    TestConnectionsOnRelease="true" TestConnectionsOnReserve="true"
    TestTableName="dual" URL="jdbc:oracle:thin:@gen11t-ora.db.lab.xyz.com:1530:GEN11T"/>
    2. Restarted the server.
    3. Ran the application and get the following error on the server console:

    Thanks

    The driver being used by your weblogic is too old and incompatible with the DBMS. Upgrade the driver.

    I encountered an error while running the testcase for a JDBC BC project in Jcaps 6.

    It seems to be a very common error. Try checking your map assignments when the source (from) is empty (null). These mappings with null values may produce the error you are facing...
    Good luck!

  • Calling Glassfish jdbc Datasorce in EJB 3.0 with @Resource annotation.

    I tried EJB 3.0 with netbeans and glassfish and "{color:#ff0000}+_ORACLE_+{color}". I wanted to link the oracle database to GLASSFISH server and I followed the instructions.After I clicked 'ping' button, it displayed as *{color:#339966}'PING SUCCEED".{color}*
    But I couldn't call my datasource from the eje stateless session bean with @Resource annotation.It resulted a dependency injection exception. Can some one tell me how to do this properly.

    Frank, yes, I can modify if it is necessary the datasource but, how can I say in the xxxx-jdbc.xml not to use JTA transactions when this data source is called inside a ejb 3.0 method?

    Hello SAP PI Gurus,

    Can you pls help me in resolving this issue.
    Regards,

    Hi,
        I think the problem is with namespace....for IDOC the namespace will be "urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages"...but in your case it is different.....i.e http:....etc.....please check whether you 've used the same IDOC withe above mentioned namespace in all the configuration objects like interface determination, receiveragreement etc.....

  • Error while creating a report that uses Oracle OCI JDBC connectivity

    Please let me know why my CR and LF characters are removed from my forum posting *****
    Hi,
    I was trying to create a report that uses Oracle OCI JDBC connectivity. I am using Eclipse3.4 download from "cr4e-all-in-one-win_2.0.2.zip".  I have successfully created a JDBC OCI connection.
    The connection parameters are given below:
    URL: jdbc:oracle:oci8:@xe
    Database: xe
    username: <userName>
    password: <password>
    I have tested the above connection in Data source Explorer and it works fine!!!
    But I am getting the following error when I drag-and-drop a table from the list of tables. Not sure what I am missing here?  Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hi Ted,
    Thanks for the feedback. I was able to create a report in Creystal Reports Designer 2008 using OCI.  It is not allowing only in the Eclipse plugin. In our environment we are not allowed to user Oracle thin connections and ONLY OCI is allowed.
    1) Can you please let me know if there is a way to do this?
    2) Will it allow data sources using native database driver?
    3) If so, can I use JRC to create these reports from a desktop java program?
    Thanks & Regards

    Please confirm the "Test Connections On Reserve" attribute is enabled. You can find this property in Administration Console--->Data Sources--->Your Data Source Name--->Configuration--->Connection Pool--->Advanced

  • Oracle 8.1.5 (6?) interoperability with Java/C++ clients and various ORBs

    Hi

    Problem:
    I want to bind to a CORBA object (pureCORBA bank example) from c++.

    I won't compile. It has been tested on Visibroker 3.2, but now i get compilation errors... (GIOP::ObjectKey CORBA::OctetSequence convertion).
    Is there an update of this article that uses 8i 8.1.6 and Visibroker 3.4 (that ships with 8.1.6). I compile it using MS VC++ 6.0 SP 4.

  • ** How to use TO_DATE function in Stored Proc. for JDBC in ABAP-XSL mapping

    Hi friends,
    I use ABAP-XSL mapping to insert records in Oracle table. My Sender is File and receiver is JDBC. We use Oracle 10g database. All fields in table are VARCHAR2 except one field; this is having type 'DATE'.
    I use Stored procedure to update the records in table. I have converted my string into date using the Oracle TO_DATE function. But, when I use this format, it throws an error in the Receiver CC. (But, the message is processed successfully in SXMB_MONI).
    The input format I formed like below:
    <X_EMP_START_DT hasQuot="No" isInput="1" type="DATE">
    Value in Payload is like below.
    <X_EMP_START_DT hasQuot="No" isInput="1" type="DATE">TO_DATE('18-11-1991','DD-MM-YYYY')</X_EMP_START_DT>
    Error in CC comes as below:
    Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'SP_EMP_DETAILS' (structure 'STATEMENT'): java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "TO_DATE('18"
    Friends, I have tried, but unable to find the correct solution to insert.
    Kindly help me to solve this issue.
    Kind Regards,
    Jegathees P.
    (But, the same is working fine if we use direct method in ABAP-XSL ie. not thru Stored Procedure)

    Hi Sinha,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I used the syntax
    <xsl:call-template name="date:format-date">
       <xsl:with-param name="date-time" select="string" />
       <xsl:with-param name="pattern" select="string" />
    </xsl:call-template>
    in my Abap XSL.  But, its not working correctly. The problem is 'href' function to import "date.xsl" in my XSLT is not able to do that. The system throws an error. Moreover, it is not able to write the command 'extension-element-prefixes' in my <xsl:stylesheet namespace>
    May be I am not able to understand how to use this.
    Anyway, I solved this problem by handling date conversion inside Oracle Stored Procedure. Now, its working fine.
    Thank you.
