JDBC to XML file interface

Hi
in JDBC to XML file interface
i want to generate the XML file with encoding of ISO-8859-1 instead of UTF-8 which is normal encoding standard since i have to include foreign character

Hi Gabriel,
Additing to your information after sandeep setting idea
in data type as
Text
Under File Encoding, specify a code page.
The default setting is to use the system code page that is specific to the configuration of the installed operating system. The file content is converted to the UTF-8 code page before it is sent.
Permitted values for the code page are the existing Charsets of the Java runtime. According to the SUN specification for the Java runtime, at least the following standard character sets must be supported:
1) US-ASCII
Seven-bit ASCII, also known as ISO646-US, or Basic Latin block of the Unicode character set
2) ISO-8859-1
ISO character set for Western European languages (Latin Alphabet No. 1), also known as ISO-LATIN-1
3)UTF-8
8-bit Unicode character format
4)UTF-16BE
16-bit Unicode character format, big-endian byte order
5) UTF-16LE
16-bit Unicode character format, little-endian byte order
6)UTF-16
16-bit Unicode character format, byte order

  • Conversion of xml file to xsd

    Hi SapAll.
    i have got a requirement in an IDOC To xml File Interface where i need to create a structure for the target xml file .
    here i have sample xml file ,so i just want to know if there is any other way to generate xsd from the xml file instead of creating strucure in PI.i mean is there any website to do this ?.
    if i can get the xsd from the sample xml file then i can just import that xsd directly into External Definition for the target xml file structure

    Hi
    but when i imported the the updated xsd into External definition it raises the error as below
    Unable to convert imported document to WSDL
    You might have done any syntax error,make sure you insert the required field properly in the exported XSD.
    If you have visual studio 2005 , in your PC then you can open the XSD using that and edit in a proper format.
    Its good if you have XML SPY , you can check the syntax correctness and validate the XSD before importing.
    check the syntax required by referring tohttp://www.w3schools.com/Schema/schema_simple_attributes.asp
    And also make sure while importing  you choose "xsd" instead of  wsdl which is the default option for importing
    external definition.

  • Error while loading xml files using JDBC

    Hi,
    I am trying to load xml files into an xmltype table using JDBC calls and am getting this error for some files
    LPX-00200: could not convert from encoding UTF-8 to UCS2
    The xml files and our database are both UTF-8 encoded. The version of oracle that we have here is 9.2.0.6
    Any suggestions in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Uma

    I also experienced this problem and unfortunately this solution didn't work for me given that the tag you suggested was already on the XML file.

  • How to set SAXParser at command-line interface to create a large XML file

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a large XML file (more than 50 MB) by selecting from Oracle database but failed because of "out of memory" error. According to "Oracle XML Developer Guide", we should use SAXParser to parsing a large XML file. But there is no example to show how to set SAXParser at command-line
    Following is what I use to get xml files. It works only when the file is small.
    java OracleXML getXML -DateFormat -withDTD -rowsetTag PO_HDR -conn
    "jdbc:oracle:oci8:@server_name" -user "ID/password" "select * from table_name"
    When I set SAXParser at the way below,
    java oracle.xml.parser.v2.SAXParser OracleXML getXML -DateFormat -withDTD -rowsetTag PO_HDR -conn
    "jdbc:oracle:oci8:@server_name" -user "ID/password" "select * from table_name"
    it failed with the error message: "In class oracle.xml.parser.v2.SAXParser: void main(String argv[]) is not defined"
    Does anyone know how to solve the problem? I'll be appreciated very much for your help.
    Yi

    here are my ideas.
    register the xml schema.
    using xmldom, generate the desired xml output and return as xmltype.
    then you can use something like this to check.
    declare
    xmldoc xmltype ;
    begin
       -- populate xmldoc from you xmldom function
       -- validate against XML schema
       xmldoc.isSchemaValid(schema_url, root_element);
       if xmldoc.isSchemaValid = 1 then
            --valid schema
       else
            --invalid
       end if;
    end

  • File attachment in XML file of inbound interface

    Hi friends
    Working in ERP EHP6.0 and SRM7.0
    I attached DMS file in PR document at ERP and transferred to SRM using interface PurchaseRequestERPSourcingRequest_out.
    But PR generated XML in ERP does not have the attachment file eventhough they have attachment folder.
    How to debug this ? which Func module attach the file to interface generated XML file?
    Trying to use CPPR and transfering PR via BADI ME_REQ_Source_Cust.
    I tried using saving file in content server and transfer using PR but attachment is not picked up in XML file while checking in SXMB_MONI.
    Does the note: SAP Note 974332 - No attachments transfer within external requirements
    is referring my problem?
    I doubt whether the above is pointing for RFC transfer program...is it not?
    Pls confirm.

    Check with BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKIN , it may help you.

  • Sliding Flash Interface - Using Links from an XML file Problem

    Hi All,
    Working on a new site for the company i've recently started
    working for... fairly new to flash but wanted to try this sliding
    interface for the graphic banner at the top of the page...
    have a look here at an early version of the site - sliding
    graphic interface at the top with coloured rollover buttons (a lot
    of work still to do! feel free to post constructive criticism)
    (am I allowed to post links??)
    here is the unfinished version with no links in the flash bit
    http://www.westfieldhealth.com/website/index.asp
    The Problem:
    I am pulling in a 'heading' 'text' and 'image' into the
    sliding graphic interface from the following xml file... (there are
    4 different xml files for 4 different slides)
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
    <content>
    <dialogue>
    <heading>Interested in selling our health
    plans?</heading>
    <text>Click here to learn more...</text>
    <img>home_window/intSmall.jpg</img>
    </dialogue>
    </content>
    I want to add a link to the xml that would be specific to
    each instance of the window...
    eg
    <link>contact-us/index.asp</link>
    But my limited knowledge of flash means I have no idea how to
    pull the link through from the xml file to use in the flash...
    Perhaps I need link text to pull as well
    eg
    <link-text>click here to contact us</link-text>
    Here is the function that pulls in the img, heading and txt
    public function onComplete(event:Event):void {
    var loader:URLLoader = event.target as URLLoader;
    if (loader != null) {
    externalXML = new XML(loader.data);
    mover_mc.heading_txt.htmlText =
    externalXML.dialogue[0].heading;
    mover_mc.myText_txt.htmlText = externalXML.dialogue[0].text;
    var url:URLRequest = new
    URLRequest(externalXML.dialogue[0].img);
    myLoader.load(url);
    } else {
    trace("loader is not a URLLoader!");
    Can anyone help me on how to pull in the link from the xml
    and use it to navigate to a different page on the site
    Thanks very much
    Hans
    link to
    my unfinished flash file...

    What is the exact error you get (what db version also), could you post a simplified version of the SQL which fails also? I have splitter based maps that successfully read from file via the XMLType(bfilename....) style code and insert into multiple targets, I did this on 11g though.
    Cheers

  • Parse XML Inbound Interface file

    What are SAP best practices to parse XML Inbound Interface file?
    Currently we are parsing XML Inbound file with custom ABAP code, but it is somewhat cumbersome and requires maintenance.
    We do not any middleware that can parse file for us.
    Is there is any best way we can handle this without lot of maintenance..

    You can do it thro XLST..
    Check this links..
    Upload XML to internal table and vice versa in SAP 4.6C
    /people/r.eijpe/blog/2005/11/10/xml-dom-processing-in-abap-part-i--convert-an-abap-table-into-xml-file-using-sap-dom-approach
    YOu can do it through XLST. it is supported in ABAP from 4.7. you can create a XSLT, and read you XML, then CALL TRANSFORMATION to convert a XML into ABAP data structure.

    3. Can we use Scheduling mechanism to Upload XML file  for master data upload  to Business System ?
    Any inputs are really appreciated .
    Thanks.,

    Hi Folks ,
    Thanks to Rupinder and Gagan , But as per your reply
    1. You can import the data into master data through xml and excel sheet with the help of DTW.
               Is that XML and Excel ( or ) we can use either XML or Excel ? Please clarify .
              i.   I would like to go for only XML is there any template available ?
             ii . Not only master data , i want to create Objects like PO / SO/Invoice etc ..,, . All can be achieved through DTW ?

    This was not my required answer.I am sorry that I was unable to clarify my question.Actually
    +This project executed successfully with some warning.Target Table is automatically created in database and also populated with data.But when I right-click Target Datastore(in >Mapping Tab of the Interface), and then select Data to View Data that needs to be inserted in the target table.I get some error like this:-...+This above line is the result of my project my problem is
    when I right-click Target Datastore(in Mapping Tab of the Interface), and then select Data to View Data that already inserted in the target table.Is not shown by the view data operation.
    I meant to say I am facing this error
    At the10(1010 written) step of
    Creating a New ODI Interface to Perform XML File to RDBMS Table Transformation
    wehre it says
    Open the Interface tab. Select Mapping tab, right-click Target Datastore - CLIENT, and then select Data. View Data inserted in the target table. Close Data Editor. Close the tabs...
    In my case when I use my sqldeveloper I can see data successfully inserted in my target table and also in error table (data that can't satisfy the constraint) .But I was unable to check this by following the above mentioned 10 th step and got this error.

  • XML file in Unix Server

    Hi Guys,
    I have a requirement to use an XML File as a data source, and the XML is made available in the Unix server where the agent is running. In ODI on my Windows machine, testing the connection of the XML “Data Server”, I get a successful test connection, and a DTD is created on the working directory (whenever it is missing). This means that, I do have access to write files in the working directory of Unix server.
    However, the problem is encountered when I reverse engineer the XML to retrieve the structure of the file (located in Unix server) and make it in a datastore. It seems that during the “Reverse Engineer” process, ODI is using the local agent rather than J2EE agent (Unix server) that I have, thus it can’t “see” file, thus the error message: "ODI-40844: Could not generate the DTD because the file could not be created. Verify that you have write permission in the directory."
    Unfortunately, I am not able to customize the Reverse Engineering process to use J2EE agent as there is no out of the box ODI Reverse Knowledge Modules for XMLs. Creating the structure (Datastore) of the XML manually in ODI under XML Technology does not solve the problem either, because ODI still sees the Datastore as a FILE Technology and not an XML Technology (Error: ODI-40426: Url must start with jdbc:snps:dbfile).
    Please advise on how to reverse engineer a remote xml file. TIA.

    Hi,
    What I have done in the past, and seems to work, is execute an Interface or Procedure in simulate mode, choosing the agent that you would like to use in reverse engineering the XML. Then, attempt to reverse engineer the file again. Not sure if this will work, but it has for me at times. You might also try this and restarting ODI to clear out anything 'cached' in the JVM.
    It seems ODI is caching the agent that you are using - but I'm not sure how to properly change it.

  • Please Help. Trying to create XML file from 2 tables.

    Step1: Target XML format
    Created an XML
    <DEPART>
    <DEPARTMENT_ID>10</DEPARTMENT_ID>
    <DEPARTMENT_NAME>Administration</DEPARTMENT_NAME>
    <MANAGER_ID>200</MANAGER_ID>
    <LOCATION_ID>1700</LOCATION_ID>
    <EMP><EMPLOYEE_ID>100</EMPLOYEE_ID>
    <FIRST_NAME>Steven</FIRST_NAME>
    <LAST_NAME>King</LAST_NAME>
    <SALARY>24000</SALARY>
    </EMP>
    </DEPART>Step 2. Created a target data server from the above mentioned xml. Specified the logical and physical schema.
    Step3.Logged into Designer and reverse engineered from the the schema created in step2.
    step 4. Following Hierarchy is created
    DEPART
    --> EMP
    Step 5. Reverse engineered 2 tables from oraclexe (HR ) Schema
    Employees
    Departments
    Step 6. Created an interface and made DEPART from step 4 as target
    and Departments from step 5 as source.
    Step 7. Staging area is different to the target.
    step 8. modified the IKM SQL Control Append to write to a file
    create xmlfile #filename from schema DEPART
    Step 9. Changed the DEPART PK Column in the TARGET to 0
    Step 10. File is created.
    Problem:
    1. When i view the file it has all the departments but the employees are also displayed eventhough i haven't done the mapping.
    2. All the employees are listed under every department.
    Please help as i have tried everything. I know i am missing something somewhere.
    Thanks a lot for reading it.

    Hi Alvindar,
    Thanks u posted good issue,
    Can u clarify this about how your issue got ressolved. I am also trying with same XML as you have pasted here. I have following doubts.
    While setting up XML data server the ro option i have deleted as defalut value is false which allows both read/write & its look like this
    jdbc:snps:xml?f=../demo/XML/EMPDEPT.xml&s=SCH_EMPDEPT.
    I have mapped and written create XML commands in commit section of IKM which looks like this :CREATE XMLFILE #ExportXMLFileLoc FROM SCHEMA SCH_FLDEPT
    created the interface and executed,it went through fine,4 rows data transformed into target xml data store,file is generated in the given path .
    But in the generated file is same as which have EMPDEPT.xml with data change,but in the target xml data store depart i am able to view newly inserted records.
    i want generate an output xml for each of the target of the XML data store, how we can do that please explain me.
    this is my xml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <REQUEST>
    <DEPART>
    <DEPARTMENT_ID>10</DEPARTMENT_ID>
    <DEPARTMENT_NAME>Admin</DEPARTMENT_NAME>
    <MANAGER_ID>200</MANAGER_ID>
    <LOCATION_ID>1700</LOCATION_ID>
    </DEPART>
    </REQUEST>
    tried only with DEPART table.
    Waiting for ur repply,
    Thanks,

  • Performance problems loading an XML file into oracle database

    Hello ODI Guru's,
    I am trying to load and XML file into the database after doing simple business validations. But the interface takes hours to complete.
    1. The XML files are large in size >200 Mb. We have an XSD file for the schema definition instead of a DTD.
    2. We used the external database feature for loading these files in database.
    The following configuration was used in the XML Data Server:
    jdbc:snps:xml?f=D:\CustomerMasterData1\CustomerMasterInitialLoad1.xml&d=D:\CustomerMasterData1\CustomerMasterInitialLoad1.xsd&re=initialLoad&s=CM&db_props=oracle&ro=true
    3. Now we reverse engineer the XML files and created models using ODI Designer
    4. Similar thing was done for the target i.e. an Oracle database table as well.
    5. Next we created a simple interface with one-to-one mapping from the XSD schema to the Oracle database table and executed the interface. This execution takes more than one hour to complete.
    6. We are running ODI client on Windows XP Professional SP2.
    7. The Oracle database server(Oracle 10g 10.2.0.3) for the target schema as well as the ODI master and work repositories are on the same machine.
    8. I tried changing the following properties but it is not making much visible difference:
    use_prepared_statements=Y
    use_batch_update=Y
    batch_update_size=510
    commit_periodically=Y
    num_inserts_before_commit=30000
    I have another problem that when I set batch_update_size to value greater that 510 I get the following error:
    java.sql.SQLException: class org.xml.sax.SAXException
    class java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException said -32413
    at com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.xml.v.a(v.java)
    The main concern is why should the interface taking so long to execute.
    Please send suggestions to resolve the problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Best Regards,
    Nikunj

    Approximately how many rows are you trying to insert?
    One of the techniques which I found improved performance for this scenario was to extract from the xml to a flat file, then to use SQL*LOADER or external tables to load the data into Oracle.
