JDev 10.1.3.4 and oracle.vcr.adapter.fs.jar

When i unzip jdevstudio10134.zip i see error: checksum incorrect on the file adfp/lib/oracle.vcr.adapter.fs.jar but this file unzipped in the file system.
When i try to unzip oracle.vcr.adapter.fs.jar i see an error: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged.
What is the problem with this file and why it was not zipped normally?

It looks like jdevstudio10134.zip was corrupted during transit.
Try downloading it again. I use a download manager, which makes it less likely to 'bugger' up

ya i know its not the standard way but i'l try these steps 'n post the result.
Bt the problem is m not having lib files (JAR files) of PeopleSoft( whc is only the application available for me here apart from oracle apps ) which should to be copied into <AppServer Home>/Adapters/lib folder 'n then only i can configure the adapter. i have to check with my admin for these files.
Well, when i try to install Adapters(Release 2) on SOA suite(101.1.3.1.0) it gives exactly following error:
"OracleAS 10g Adapters will run on top of the an Oracle Application Server
10g J2EE and Web Chache instance. This location does not contain this instance.
Please select a new oracle home which contains this instance."
Anyways,i'l try to deploy rar files manually once i'l get them.

BPEL and Oracle Applications Adapter

I am using the Oracle Applications Adapter of the JDeveloper BPEL Designer 10.1.2.1.0 to insert a customer into the Oracle eBusiness Suite.
To achieve this I select the tab
Financials/Trading Community/Customer Account Contact/Open Interfaces/Trading Community Customer Open Interface/Tables (3)
RA_CUSTOMERS_INTERFACE_ALL
then I click OK.
But when I press next on the step 5 of 5: Operation I get the following error message:

Hi,
libraries can be added on the project level. Open the project properties (context menu) and choose the library node. I am afraid, but I don' think there is a tutorial that explains end-to-end what is your development assignment

How to install and configure UCM VCR adapter in WLP 10.3.x?

Hi,
There is a requirement for my client where need to use Oracle Universal Content Management as a content repository and Weblogic Portal as a portal user interface.
For this requirement, i read this article to do the same " http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/ucm_adapter/install.html#wp1087653 " but as specified in this article section " Add a reference to UCM VCR Adapter Shared Library", i am not able to find the oracle-ucm-spi-app-lib.ear in the specified location i.e <BEA_HOME>/wlportal_10.3/content-mgmt/lib/j2ee-modules/
My Queries are
1. Is it anything wrong in my WLP installation because of that the specified ear file is missing in that location?
2. Is the UCM has to be installed in my machine , but the UCM content server is already available in some other server?
3. where can i get the oracle-ucm-spi-app-lib.ear file to follow the next steps in the article
4. Is there any other way to configure VCR to refer the UCM content server which is already available in remote server?
Please guide me on " how to configure the VCR in my local WLP server" .

Hi Suresh
Only the latest version of WLP which is WLP 10.3.2 has facility to integrate with Oracle UCM with Adapaters. So make sure that you do have this latest version of WLP 10.3.2. Older versions like WLP 10.3 do not have this provision.
Also I guess when you install and configure this Oracle UCM Adapater and choose above WLP Home, I guess these modules may be added in already installed WLP folders. I checked on my side for WLP 10.3.2 and I could NOT find the modules you mentioned. So most probably you may be missing some installation/configuration stuff from UCM side.

Issue in WLP and UCM integration using VCR adapter

Hi All,
I am working on a priority customer POC .
I was trying to integrate WLP with UCM and done all the installation and configuration according to VCR adapter guide.
The version of WLP is 10GR3 and UCM is 10GR3.
I am getting the following error in connecting the the UCM repository:
An exception has been thrown while attempting to persist changes for the service: Repository Configuration.
Error authenticating to repository: UCM Repository. Possible cause could include, but is not limited to a bad repository configuration or the repository is unknown.
I have done the repository configuration from Portal Admin console not from the Workshop.
Please look into this.

Oracle.bpm_template_12.1.3.jar is missing in 12c JDev installation.

Hi,
To install BPM in 12c I am using following commands.
CD %ORACLE_HOME%\soa\common\bin
set QS_TEMPLATES=%ORACLE_HOME%\soa\common\templates\wls\oracle.bpm_template_12.1.3.jar
qs_config.cmd
The issue is I could not found oracle.bpm_template_12.1.3.jar in Oracle_Home\soa\common\templates\wls location.
I have installed 12C JDev 12.1.3.0.0. And I am using the JARs available in Oracle_Home\soa\common\templates\wls location.
Am I missing anything here?
Or should I download oracle.bpm_template_12.1.3.jar independently?
Could anyone provide the info.

Yes - you are correct.
I've found the most useful reference for installing Oracle BPM 12c is this: Installing SOA Suite and Business Process Management Suite Quick Start Guide for Developers.
1. To Download Oracle BPM 12c JDeveloper download the software from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bpm/downloads/index.html
2. To Install the JDK:
Install JDK 1.7 (jdk1.7.0_55).
Set JAVA_HOME environment variable to D:\Java\jdk1.7.0_55
3. To Install Oracle BPM 12c JDeveloper
Open a command prompt as an administrator (right mouse click “Command Prompt” -> “Run as administrator”)
From the command prompt run: %JAVA_HOME%\bin\java -jar fmw_12.1.3.0.0_bpm_quickstart.jar

Hi, We are beginner in JDev. and ADF and Oracle as well.. we are developing a PENSION software for an organization as an Internee ... we have a less time and our timelines are getting close ..Whenever We Insert into the database it overrides the previous record .. we are using this tutorial Developing Rich Web Applications With Oracle ADF http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_55/jdtut_11r2_55_1.html but at the end Its run and update in JDEVELOPER MODEL TESTER but cannot update in JSF page in Web browser and cant update in XE database also
we also follow instructions in these 2 blog posts

how have you configured your commit button : JDeveloper 11g and Oracle XE 10g
and how are you instering a row : ->> When we insert in JDEV debug app.tester it will work fine and also make changes to XE DB as well , but when we RUN app in Browser and add a field or record it will override the previous one

Microsoft and Oracle - Developer Studio?

It does not mean that. There should be a FAQ document posted to OTN this week that helps clarify some of this.
As the press release mentioned, Oracle has joined this VSIP program so that we can build some extensions to the Visual Studio .NET environment that make working with the Oracle database easier for developers that have already picked .NET.
For developers targeting J2EE, or developers that are still undecided as to whether to pick J2EE or .NET, our JDeveloper 10g tool and Oracle ADF framework are already more productive in most business application development scenarios than Visual Studio .NET is today -- as well as obviously more portable and standard -- and everything we are working on in JDeveloper and ADF will continue that trend.
Microsoft recently announced that it's 1.0 release of an ADF-like framework (Microsoft Business Framework), has slipped into the Longhorn timeframe (2007 or beyond). And that will be the 1.0 version!

How does Oracle (and the Oracle community) see the future or of model driven application development and the integration of upper CASE (early SDLC) and lower CASE (late SDLC) tools?
How about a code generator for Designer that generates from old meta-data in the Designer repository into ADF? That will mean that we have the best of both worlds Designer for enterprise modeling and JDeveloper / ADF for the coding end of the stick?
We have guys here that developed a very nifty PL/SQL code generator on top of a PL/SQL version of the Servlet APIs (that I developed) and this thing generates normal business applications (with very cool master detail, state and session handling) faster than anything I have ever seen. I am trying to convince them to go Java, but with the learning curve and complexity, how? I enjoy Java as a programming language immensely, but as a tool for developing transactional business applications in your average medium sized corporate development shop, it seems like we stepped 10 years back.
Developer productivity is much, much higher using Designer, Headstart and Forms. Given, one can develop such cool user interfaces with clever DHTML, but it turns into an endless quagmire of Java Script debugging.
Where too now? Is IBM and rational perhaps the way to go, .NET, or Sun and JSF? Jdeveloper?
We currently have a home grown network with much declarative features but we dont have the time to write tools for it. Its very powerful but sooo hard to use.

Select query differences between oracle 9 and oracle 8.

I have a problem using the select query between oracle 7 and oracle 9i I don't have the same result :

With oracle7

With Oracle 9

Whenever you are posting anything over internet forums like this - you should be very careful about not just posting the details which requires to solve the problem - also should be sensible about your question.
This is not at all desired when you are posting such question. It may be because - you may not well aware of the fact.
My suggestion is -> First Go through the basics Of SQL in general.
Then go for any specific product like Oracle/ SQL Server/ Sybase etc.
And, finally learn the advanced commands of that DB.
You asked it - may be you thought the difference in output in terms of lines. But, that is not your actual output. That is the graphical display part only.

I've been working on this and could reproduce the issue with anonymous binds. A fix will be ready in 4.2.1.
So what I really need is the password used for login to pass to the is_member call.The P101_PASSWORD item does not save state. However, you can access the value during submit processing of the login page, for example in the post authentication function of your authentication scheme. People sometimes put code in there to query the user's groups (e.g. with apex_ldap.member_of2) and save them in an application. This item value can then be used in the authorization schemes.

Oracle Spatial and Oracle Forms

Does anyone have experience with Oracle Spatial and Oracle Forms?
I have generated a form, which is based on a view. The view uses the mdsys.sdo_relate operator. Somehow I am unable to get the form to perform (to get one record it takes over 20 minutes). While useing sql-navigator to process the same statement it seems no problem. The query that also uses the view, is then processed in 10 seconds.
I also noticed that when text-functions like ' lower' of ' upper' are used to query the view, the query is processed within 15 seconds. If I don't use ' lower' or ' upper' it takes a long time (> 20 minutes) to process the query. Is it possible that this causes the bad performance of the form?
On metalink I have found that forms and spatial do not cooperate because of the pl/sql version that
forms6 uses. There is no solution presented, does anyone know of a work around?
My configuration is:
Oracle 8.1.7 on WIN2K @ PIII-800Mhz 256 Mb memory.

1. Book - Pro Oracle Spatial for Oracle Database 11g by r. Kothuri, A. Godfrind, E. Beinat. This book provides a nice introduction on Oracle Spatial concepts and have examples.
2. Look at the Oracle Spatial & Graph User Guide
2. Book - Applying and Extending Oracle Spatial by S. Greener and S. Ravada. This book provides hands on information for advanced oracle spatial application developers. Practical guide on hands-on examples, Data models and develop cross-vendor database solutions.
3. This oracle spatial forum, once you understand these concepts.
In the future consider Certification on Oracle Spatial 11g Certified Implementation Specialist.

Limitation on SQL executing select statement from ADO and Oracle 8.1.7.1 OleDB Driver

we are running a query with a big dunamic select statement from VB code using ADO command object. When Execute method is called system hangs and control won't return back to the application. it seems to be that there is some type limitation on Query string length. Please tell us if there is any?
we are running Oracle 8.1.7 Server on Windows 200 Server and connecting from a W2K professional, ADO 2.6 and Oracle OLEDB 8.1.7.1 OLEDB Driver.
Sample code:

A stored procedure would only slow you down here if it was poorly written. I suspect you want to use the translate function. I'm cutting & pasting examples from the documentation-- a search at tahiti.oracle.com will give you all the info you'll need.
Examples
The following statement translates a license number. All letters 'ABC...Z' are translated to 'X' and all digits '012 . . . 9' are translated to '9':

Also, LIKE '%<string>%' is going to be rather expensive simply because it has to compare the entire string and because it forces full table scans, rather than using indexes. You could speed this sort of query up by using interMedia Text (Oracle Text now in 9i). If you can eliminate one of the '%' options, you could also improve things.
My guess is that your stored procedure is inefficient and that's causing the problem-- 5k rows per table should be pretty trivial.
If you post your query over on the PL/SQL forum, there are better performance tuners than I that might have more hints for you. To get really good advice, though, you'lllikely have to get at least the execution plan for this statement and may need to do some profiling to identify the problem areas.
